Prologue. The end and the beginning

Prologue. The end and the beginning

John was a simple name. It was his name and quite liked it. He was born in 1930 in New York City. He wasn't born in the world crying or sleeping but curiosity. By the age of three he and his parents realized that he was not normal. He could remember everything from his birth to forty third sentence he read in a book the other day. After 89 years of living, he was at peace with his life. Next on the agenda, death.  George was there, his last living sibling. There was also the nieces and aunts and their children. Doctor had called in the family which I was thankful for. Looking back on his life, it wasn't so bad. And for the first time in Johns life, he shed a tear wondering curiously, what's after death?

A different time. A different place.

Altos was worried. Of course, every person worried over things, it was human nature. He worried when Bedric asked to increase iron quantity and would slaughter his people if they didn't. He was worried when Celtin asked to stop sending so much iron to their enemy or they would come in and what do you know, slaughter his people. Even being put through the hellfire known as politics and somehow managing his job and wife, he was pretty sure he's never been this worried. After all, his son, the king's son, was being born.

Lula was worried. She was the royal physician and had to make sure the birth would go through without any complications. In any Well country, she would barely pass as a nurse, but out here in this powerless place, she had status. Although it was rare for someone to have zero Sat by the age of 16, it did happen. When such a disaster would occur, that person would be disowned by their family and kicked out of the country as fast as the Security Agency could work. Luckily Lula was training to be a Medic who could work out in the field. That field being the local skirmishes with Celtin or going to help out villages in the outer sector with the local monsters. Anyway, that was a long-lost pipe dream when the measurement turned out to be a big fat zero. But she did have a pretty good understanding of the human body, ranging from wounds to diseases. Studying before the age of 16 showed her commitment which was why Altron was more than happy to pick up a broken resource. While living in this backward country wasn't living the dream, the job much better then working in some brothel or farm.  She taught what she knew to a group of assistants who would then take that knowledge to run a local clinic near the residential area. They were in the process of building it and the king was so excited he bumped up the salary. Although the building or her for that matter wouldn't be able to cure diseases, it would cure wounds before they turned life threatening. But todays job was had her more worried then when she was being yelled at her parents for being such a failure and dragged away by the capitals guards. In all fairness though, if she failed at her job today, death would undoubtably be the end result. After all, she was helping Fela, the king's wife, give birth.

He couldn’t describe the sensation. From something to nothing and back to something. It was something that nothing in the human language could describe. Luckily, this new something was similar to his old body. He could feel, smell, hear, and taste. But....yes he remembers, even for someone like him, it was hard to remember this feeling from so long ago. He was in the body of a baby. He would have loved to contemplate such a odd situation in peace but currently one of his senses, hearing to be exact, was having none of that. He opened his eyes to see a women with her jaw slacked staring at... his new arms? He turned and saw another women crying and screaming at the women holding me. Presumably this would be my mother asking the nurse to hand over her newborn. No, its probably more like a birth defect or some other impairment. There was more I probably could have figured out regarding my situation but my body was roaring at me to sleep, and I whole heartily agreed with it.
