“Hey John, John, listen to me john!” “WHAT!”. Screaming at the top of her lungs was Johns sister, Lily. He was listening intently to the radio which held the latest ongoing report in Poland. Although he was currently studying college level mathematics and engineering, the past couple of days had seemed much more interesting then learning. Some guy called Hitler had decided to invade Poland ignoring the fact that Japan was already having a full-blown invasion into China. The next couple of years would be probably monstrous. [We could probably fix this before it turns into a massive problem but who's going to listen to me, I'm a nine-year-old kid. Of course, Im, probably the only 9-year-old kid that has been accepted into college but to have political power took time. In the first place, society has too many random factors at play, it probably won't get as bad as I'm thinking it will.
“JOHN,” screaming right into Johns ear.
“What, what in the blazes could my sweet little banshee of a sister want,” giving her a stern look.
“Help me water the flowers, you promised mom that you would help me with the garden once a week since your always either cooped up in your room or at the library,” rebounding the stern look I gave to her.”
“Alright, I accept your command, your highness.” Although he thought getting out for a change would be nice, his true motive was to get rid of the thoughts he had over the current crises overseas.
Walking out into the backyard he saw a rainbow of colors. Orchids, Lilies, Hydrangeas, Roses, Tulips, irises. In the backdrop of this rainbow was the towering cityscape known as New York City. The contrast of colors and the monotony of black, grey, and white was for anyone of any background, a beauty.

He walked down the back porch to Lily finishing filling up his water can.
“Here ya go, may be a little heavy but its good exercise for you.”
“yeah, whatever,” I grunted back. Honestly, he understood that working the body was good for you. Many improvements would occur in the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, and even help reduce stress! He was thinking all of this smugly when in the midst of watering his third pot his sister asked him a question. “So, do you know what you want do yet,” she asked while sighing.
This was obviously referring to the discussion he had last week with his parents about his future. His two younger brothers at the age of 7 were showing interest in anything mechanical. Cars, planes, and even submarines. Unlike an average 7-year-old though, they were asking questions that of a level of novice engineer. He estimated their intellectual knowledge to already be at high school level. Then there was his sister who intellectually was at the college level like at him. Maybe it was something to do with the current failing farm techniques of perhaps that’s just Lily but she wanted to be a botanist. John, unlike his siblings had no clue what I wanted to do. That’s also why he was still studying college material instead of making his own genius material, whatever that may be. John simply felt It was his duty to memorize everything humanity had ever created from physics to architecture, hell, even history. That’s why he was currently studying at the local college. Sure, it might be weird but him and his sibling's mastery over knowledge had accelerated their psyche leading them to lead vastly different lives to the average kid. It was a sad fate for his parents to deal with but they still loved them nonetheless.
So, they did what any loving parent would do, albeit nine years earlier for the average child, “what do you want to do with your future.” They were still waiting on his decision.
That’s why Lily was asking to see if he had come up with that answer.
I stopped watering the plant and looked to the Skyline in the distance. The towering mammoths showed the genius intellect of man but also more than that. 100 years ago, there were no skyscrapers, cars or planes. Trains and steamboats were the future with slaves being bought and sold openly. Technology, culture, and people themselves change. But more than that, he wanted to see that change.
He turned back around and said “I want to travel the world.”
