"It wasn't a baby girl, but a boy," Marlene paused and observed the expressions of everyone, "and he was stillborn."
The words hung heavily in the air, causing a collective gasp to escape from the crowd. Tears welled up in the Emperor’s eyes, who had hoped for a healthy baby girl to change the fortune of Mistwood Village.
The system transmigrated Brax's soul to a parallel world—a new world where he could start over again. The very fabric of reality shimmered with vibrant hues, a stark contrast to the muted tones of Earth. Here, the sky danced in shades of emerald and sapphire, and the sun cast a warm, golden light that never waned, creating an eternal twilight that embraced the land. It was a realm of contradictions: gravity flowed like a gentle stream, allowing inhabitants to glide effortlessly across vast fields of luminescent flora. Trees towered high, their bark adorned with intricate patterns that glowed softly in the dark, while their leaves consisted of translucent crystals that tinkled like wind chimes when the breeze whispered through.
In this world, water did not flow; it floated. Rivers sparkled like liquid diamonds, winding gracefully through the air, and creatures known as Luminari surfed atop the shimmering currents, their scales reflecting the light in kaleidoscopic patterns. These beings, both ethereal and playful, communicated through melodious chimes, their laughter echoing like a symphony through the valleys. The world was mostly inhabited by Kaelith people. These polite and humble individuals had a long history like humans. They were a peaceful species, always kind to those with no evil intention toward them. The Kaelith were known for their strength and intellect, considered a superior race to others. They resembled humans but had different DNA. The Kaelith possessed a unique DNA structure with an unusual double helix featuring an additional strand, giving it a triangular appearance. This extra strand contains sequences that code for bioluminescence, enabling the Kaelith to emit soft glows in shades of green and blue, particularly during emotional peaks or in the dark called Verdant blood-type.
The green blood of the Kaelith resulted from a high concentration of a copper-based molecule called hemocyanin, which replaced the iron in hemoglobin. This not only gave their blood its striking color but also allowed for efficient oxygen transport in their bodies, adapted to their planet's thinner atmosphere. Their DNA also encoded enhanced regenerative abilities, allowing them to heal rapidly from injuries, which manifested in their vibrant skin quickly mending itself after cuts or scrapes. These traits made the Kaelith a fascinating blend of familiar and alien, a race both alluring and mysterious in their green-tinted world.
From a young age, Kaelith children trained in the ancient art of beast mastery. This training began with learning to listen to the subtle cues of the animals around them—understanding their emotions and needs through body language and sound. They often engaged in rituals that honored the spirits of the creatures they sought to bond with, invoking respect and trust. The Kaelith used their bioluminescence to communicate with beasts during the night, sending out soft glows that mimicked the natural light patterns of the creatures. This light acted as a calming signal, easing the animals into a state of receptivity. They believed that the colors they emitted could influence an animal’s mood, creating a harmonious atmosphere conducive to forming bonds.

Central to Kaelith society was the Beast Council, a group of esteemed Beast Masters regarded as the guardians of Kaelith’s ecosystems. They acted as mediators between the creatures and the people, ensuring that both thrived. The Council was responsible for the annual Gathering of Beasts, a spectacular event where Kaelith showcased their skills, demonstrating their mastery over various creatures in grand displays of trust and agility. The Kaelith forged extraordinary bonds with remarkable creatures. Among them were the Lunafins, ethereal beings that glided effortlessly through the glowing waters. Their sleek, graceful bodies sparkled like stars as they danced beneath the surface, navigating treacherous currents with an elegance that left onlookers breathless. The Kaelith learned to ride these majestic creatures, exploring the depths of the lakes and uncovering hidden wonders.
As the seasons shifted, the skies became home to another of the Kaelith's companions—the Zephyrbeasts. Towering and gentle, these colossal creatures soared high above the ground, their massive wings casting fleeting shadows across the landscape. The Kaelith joined them during their migration, riding on their backs as they traversed vast distances. It was a shared journey, a dance between the giants of the sky and their loyal riders, filled with breathtaking views and a profound connection to the natural world. Yet it was the Glimmerhounds that truly captured the hearts of the Kaelith. With their agile, feline forms and crystalline fur that refracted light into dazzling displays of color, these intelligent companions were more than mere pets; they were allies in every sense. The Glimmerhounds excelled in hunting and scouting, their keen senses and swift movements making them invaluable in the wild. Together, the Kaelith and their Glimmerhounds forged unbreakable bonds, blending strength and agility, instinct and intellect.
Time flows differently there; it twisted and spiraled, allowing moments of joy to stretch into eternity while sorrow flickered away like the fading glow of a firefly. Festivals were held in endless cycles, celebrating unity and creativity. In these gatherings, Kaelithians painted the skies with vibrant colors, sending clouds swirling in fantastical shapes that told stories of old, their voices rising in a harmonious chant that resonated with the very core of the earth. But Kaelith was not without its mysteries. Deep within the Whispering Woods lay the Nexus, a swirling portal that connected to countless dimensions, including Earth. The Nexus shimmered like a liquid mirror, reflecting not only the images of the worlds beyond but also their essence. Those who dared to gaze into its depths found themselves pulled into visions of stark contrasts—the chaos of storms, the weight of stone, the gravity that tethered them to the ground.
According to Kaelithian legends, in the beginning of this world, the Kaelith and Nerathis peacefully coexisted, each occupying their own territories. However, over time, tensions between them began to rise. Fueled by their desire for power and dominance, the Nerathis sought to expand their influence beyond their realm, causing chaos and destruction throughout the world. To restore balance, the gods divided the world into four realms: the hunter realm, the ghost realm, the demon realm, and the monster realm.
The hunter realm, inhabited by the Kaelith and granted power by the systems, served as the highest realm, overseeing the others. The demon realm, led by powerful Nerathis lords, was confined to its own territory. The ghost realm acted as neutral ground, unaligned with either the Kaelith or the Nerathis. However, in recent years, the Nerathis gained power and conquered the ghost realm. Lastly, the monster realm, where beasts resided, was the most vulnerable and subject to the influence of the Kaelith realm, as they absorbed energy for their beasts from there.
