The Prologue - 402 Years Into The Future

The Prologue - 402 Years Into The Future

Despite being somewhat intelligent as a child and achieving well above average grades in his academic studies, John Oliver is amongst the very few individuals who did nothing with their life after finishing sixth-form college.

He didn't go to uni for obvious reasons, not because he doesn't met the entrance requirements to enter uni, but he didn't want to go to university.

As he spends the remainder of his time, gloomily, all locked up, hauled up, withinside his room.

Playing video games all day, watching anime, live action television series, and YouTube videos to pass the time. The sort of lifestyle that which anybody would dream of, but never managing to truly achieved it due to real life complications.

So when he clicked upon the add new tab button of the Google chrome browser on his laptop, with his desktop computer mouse, an unexpected window screen then pops up.

Are you tired of reality? Do you wish for some sort of excitement in your life?

Accept Decline

John Oliver was somewhat speechless. These sort of games would always relied upon this sorts of advertisement to attract people's attention. The person who created this pop up ad must have read too many webnovels, eh.

Just as John Oliver was about to close down the popup ad, he then suddenly realises that there is no close down or an exit button located on the top right corner of the window screen.

There were only two alternative options to be had, either Accept [Y] or Decline [N].

The answer was quite obvious, right in front of him, he should press the decline button upon the window screen. And get it done and over with.

However, curiosity then got the better of him. As he steadily wonders to himself, 'Whatever happens if I press the accept button. Will I be magically whisk off to some kind of fantasy wonderland.' He thought.

John Oliver had raised his left brow slightly, as he made the joke half heartedly, and jokingly pressed upon the accept button on the window screen for laughs.

However, what he didn't expect was for his measly little joke in a laughing manner, would turned out to become reality.

Right at this very moment, when the computer desktop mouse lightly clicks upon the accept button of the window screen. The laptop screen then flashes in an intensely bright light, which certainly engulfs John Oliver's entire field of vision.

'Did I get a computer virus? Is my laptop going to explode...' These sort of thoughts keeps resurfacing withinside John Oliver's head.

And right before John Oliver could consciously make a logical decision, his body is then suddenly engulfed in an intensely bright white light that came off from his laptop screen.

As the last thing that he could instinctively remember up till this very point was that the intensely bright light would disintegrate his body to measly white particles of light.

After an indefinite amount of time, when John Oliver had regained his conciousness, and finally opened up his eyes onced again.

He then quickly notices that his entire surroundings have changed, and no longer was he safe and sound withinside the comforts of his own room, but rather outside in the heap of junk. A junkyard that is filled to the brim with trash, discarded waste, and garbage.

'Where is this place?' It was John Oliver's first thought, as he took a quick glance at his entire surroundings.

First comes the expression of puzzlement, trying to figure out where he currently are. Second is the shock of when he quickly comes to a realisation that he has been isekai-ed to another. And third is the excitement of wanting to find out what sort of super cheat that he acquired after transmigrating to another world.

There were piling heaps of junk and garbage reaching far towards the sky, as far as the eyes could see. It seems like a mountain of junk, rather than a large junk pile.

'Is this a junkyard?' John Oliver assumes.

But his guess was not that far off, rather than a small measly junkyard. It is an entire city district that was abandoned after the mutation apocalypse.

And now it is being used as a dumping ground and junkyard for huge corporation and business. With some of the few survivors after the mutation apocalypse, with no place left to go, and are exiled from the big cities have gathered together to form group or small communities.

And it seems that most of the technology that was abandoned and were dumped into the junkyard city district greatly exceeds the current day modern technology.

With bits and pieces of broken flying cars, lying on about, stuck in large heap of junk piles. With the rusty old metal exterior of the car's outer body frame acting as the supporting pillar for large piling towers of junk.

There were even discarded pieces and parts of advanced robots that have in-built A.I that reaches the level of developing its own individual consciousness.

Without much further thought, John Oliver then immediately sat up and got off from the ground.

But, as he got up and held his outstretched hands out. He then immediately notices how small his outstretched arms and hands are, which is comparable to an pre-adolescent child's hand and arm size.

John Oliver thought so to himself, 'Is this my hands and arms? Why are they suddenly so small? It couldn't be that I have...'

And before he could consciously finish that sentence of thought. He was then suddenly hit with a splitting headache, in which John Oliver would unconsciously grab his head with his child size hand.

He then internally scream out at himself in an attempt to distract himself from the head splitting headache.

'Aauuggghhhh!!!!'

Right at this very moment, information, bits and pieces of another person's memories then keeps rushing rapidly into his head.

'Time travel!' The first thought that ever came to John Oliver's head after the head splitting headache had cleared up.

'No, that's not right. It's not actual time travel.' John Oliver immediately rejects the idea of time travel, 'I didn't actually travel to the future, or to be more exact I've actually crossed on over towards q parallel world where the future Earth was plunged into a world changing disaster. And the entire world has become that like a RPG game.'

With the information that entered his head, John Oliver couldn't help but laugh. Laughing manically like a mad man.

"Hahahaha!!!!" John Oliver then started laughing manically, as he then sifts his right hand through his hair.

That's right. This is the Earth in the future that has been affected by the LitRPG Game phenomenon.

A world changing cataclysmic event that literally brought out and about the creation of an Universal Levelling System to manage the awakening of Earth's inhabitants.

The year within the recorded book of history is the year 2424.

There was an ear splitting silence, as the area that surrounds the Earth's hemisphere suddenly cracks; spider web-like cracks then forms over the surface of the Earth's stratosphere. And within seconds, the spider web-like crack then shatters into a million pieces, like shards of glass.

A meteorite from unknown origins then exits through the void-like crack in the sky, above the Earth's stratosphere, landed and struct the Earth's crust at mach 10 speeds, in the middle of the ocean.

The collision of the unknown meteorite with the Earth's ocean waters has caused a massive tidal wave of astronomical proportions to occur. A size that is never before seen in mankind's history, with the damage and deaths caused by the large massive tidal waves to be in the couple billions.

And before mankind could slowly recovered from this unnatural disaster. The viral energy that is released off of the mysterious unknown meteorite has caused the wild animals and plants on Earth to mutate and evolve.

It first started off in the ocean, as the fishes and aquatic life that lives in the Earth's ocean then suddenly grew more larger and even more deadlier than usual.

With some of the mutated aquatic beasts having grew to the size of a large cargo ship or something even bigger than that.

A cockroach that was usually the size of an average human thumb has grew to the size of a large rat after having become a mutated beast. With some mutated beasts having gained unusual abilities, like breathing fire, claws harder than steel, and super sonic screams, after having become mutated.

The same goes for humans as well, the viral energy would then unlock a part of the human gene, thereby allowing for the individual to acquired superpower abilities or supernatural powers, known as ability user.

Alongside superpowered ability users, there are those that awaken specialised classes that are derived from the Universal Levelling System. They are known as system users.

A system users utilises a special part of the Universal Levelling System that is tailored specifically towards their particular class or profession. Whilst, ability users on the other hand, uses a more a generic Levelling System typical of LitRPG games.

You kill a simple mob and gained experience points to levelled up and get stronger. Rinse and repeat until you've reached the peak of your strength.

Ability users can also get stronger by using their superpowered ability more often. Even without gaining experience points from killing mob monsters. You would still get stronger in the end the more the individual matures.

The existence of infected zombies have come about more than a decade ago, due to a parasitizing zombie fungus having suddenly jumped species of host and mutated after exposure to the meteorite viral energy.

The mutated zombie fungus would then slowly take over a live host, infecting their host's bodies with their parasitizing zombie fungus spores.

Unlike the usual typical parasitizing zombie fungus spores in movies and video games where their main goal is to spread the virus or spores to preserve their species or race.

The mutated zombie fungus would then assimilated with its alive or dead host, causing their bodies to change at a cellular level, to a more primitive, wild and primal, war bearing race.

Those that manages to survive through the process of assimilating the mutated zombie fungus, and managed to have kept their sanity and conciousness relatively intacts, are called ghouls. Ghouls are intelligent mutated infected zombies that are capable of logic and reasoning.

Whilst, a normal mutated infected zombie on the other hand is like a wild animal whose goal is to constantly satiate their hunger. The thirst for evolution to become an evolved mutated infected zombie.

Ding!

It was then that John Oliver had heard a mechanical beeping noise resounding deeply withinside his head, and a blue screen panel then appears in front of him.

Immediately, after transmigrating to this other Earth, John Oliver was able to earned himself a SSS grade legendary rarity title.

He was given also given a beginner's starter package as a way to start off his journey living withinside this new world by the Universal Levelling System.

Seeing no real reason to refuse the offer of opening the [Beginner's Transmigration Package] that was handed out by the system. John Oliver without delay, then presses upon the [Accept] button of the blue screen interface panel that's in front of him.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.

Once the system has recognised John Oliver's input decisions, the blue screen interface panel then immediately vanishes, replaced with the visual idle image of a yellow gift box present, wrapped up in a red ribbon, neatly tied together.

The visual idle image of the yellow gift box present gradually began to unravel the red ribbon that neatly kept the present together, and the gift wrapping naturally unwraps itself in the process, thereby revealing a golden shimmering light that emanates from within the gift box present.

Ding!

It was then that John Oliver heard the sound of the system prompt message resounding deeply withinside his head, as a blue screen panel then appears in front of him, showcasing the prize that he got from the [Beginner's Transmigration Package].

System Notification You have obtained 25 unallocated stats points, 1 × Appraisal skill card, 1 × skill upgrade card from the [Beginner's Transmigration Package]!

A wide eyed surprised suddenly encroached on over towards John Oliver's face, as he quickly thought to himself. 'Woah! 25 unallocated stats points is a whole lot of stats attribute points.'

But in actuality 25 stats attribute points gained is equivalent to about two to three levels up for a normal awakened individual. And, in addition, you typically gained 3 unallocated stats points with each levelled up.

So obtaining 25 unallocated stats attribute points is really not that far fetch, but just gives you an early head start when being compared to your peers on the same level.

Stats attribute points and value can be easily acquired by repeating the same activity over and over again to train a specific body part that corresponds to the actual stats attribute value.

At the same time, two white-silver cards then materialises, right in front of him.

Without a second of thought, John Oliver then immediately grabs a hold of the two white-silver cards that he saw in front of him.

And only one thought comes to mind, when John Oliver had grabbed a hold of the two white-silver cards withinside his hand. 'So this is the Appraisal Skill Card and Skill Upgrade Card.'

Ding!

Immediately after, holding onto the two white-silver cards, John Oliver then heard the sound of the system prompt message resounding deeply withinside his head. And a blue screen interface panel then appears in front of him, showcasing him a list of options.

'I can always the [Upgrade Skill Card] to upgrade my skills later, after checking what kind of skills I've had in the first place.' John Oliver thought so to himself, as he then places the [Skill Upgrade Card] withinside his ragged pants pockets.

Upon reading the scroll down list of skills withinside his current arsenal, a somewhat startling serious expression then covered his face, as he seriously creased his brows to showcase his furious look.

'What kind of life for my current host's body must have lived for the skill weak disease resistance, weak poison resistance, and weak cold resistance to be so damn high.' John Oliver thought so to himself, as he then assumes the worst.

After recalling through the memories of his current host body, and sifting through the important ones that details towards the explanation that he desires. John Oliver then almost felt sick to the stomach.

If it weren't for the current host's bodily experience and memories. He would have already barfed, already.

Due to the sort of living environment that was brought about after the mutation apocalypse, with the Outer City District being mostly occupied by poorer people and rejected survivors of the mutation apocalypse, and most of the convenient modern day technology processed food have all exhaust out.

So the children that were raised up in or were abandoned withinside the Outer City District have to survive off scraps. They mostly eat mutated Big Copper Skin Cockroaches and Big Grey Clawed Rat for meat, nutrients, and sustenance.

The sewer rats were often covered in bacteria, viruses, and small arthropod-like parasites. So the surviving children have grown up with strong immune system, developing strong resistances to poison and diseases, etc.

John Oliver then contemplated to himself, after inspecting his list of skills. 'Should I upgrade either the Weak Poison Resistance skill, Weak Disease Resistance skill, or the Strong Stomach skill to the next tier.'

After some thoughts and much deliberation, John Oliver had came to the final decision of upgrading the Strong Stomach skill to the next tier, as it would proof effective in the long run.

Whatever John eats, whether it is out of dated food or rotten food. It would have a low chance of him getting food poisoning, and his strong stomach acid will be able to digest the badly rotten out of date food.

John Oliver then immediately takes out the [Skill Upgrade Card] from his ragged pants pocket.
