JOURNEY TO THE WORLD'S GREATEST PHARMACIST
EPISODE 4:CHEMISTRY
(Oh shit !!!!how could I have forgotten today is the first day of class ,I can't miss my first Lecture )I thought as I came back to my senses as Tgirl left , shutting the door and rushing into the bathroom with no preparations whatsoever and and getting ready for school .
Later on I and a couple of other students arrived at the college campus. I walked through the empty lecture rooms on my own , hoping to meet my lectures and make some friends , absent mindedly I opened another door but this time a guy was sitting all alone in an empty Lectureroom , I couldn't help but wonder how old he was , he looked young and old at the same time , if I had to guess I'd say he was around 22 -24years, .....as soon as he saw me at the door he stopped listening to his music ,looked up and smiled.
“ I'm Leo ,Nice to meet you, man.” He said, taking off his headphones.
“Hi I’m Jake. Nice to meet you too.” I said, putting down my bag on the table.
He was a friendly and easygoing guy, who liked to listen to and produce hip hop music. He said He was studying chemistry, which was weird since we only had medical related courses in our school but I ignored it thinking he meant to say pharmacist . He told me about his songs, and his gigs. He also asked me about myself, and I told him about my passion for pharmacy. He was supportive and curious, and he said he wanted to hear more about it. We got along well, and I felt comfortable with him.
We decided to sit down after a bit of exploration around school , where we grabbed some sits and joined a table with some other students. We introduced ourselves and made some small talk. I noticed a guy sitting next to us, who looked familiar. He was the one who had greeted me at the hostel . He had short black hair, brown eyes, and a smug smile. He seemed to be popular and confident, and he talked a lot.
“Hey, I’m Dave. I’m from Francistown. What about you?” He said, looking at my newly acquired friend.
“Hi, Dave. I’m from Leo. I’m from Francistown too.” He said, nodding.
“Really? What a coincidence. Where did you go to school?” He asked.
“I went to John Mackenzie High School. What about you?” Leo asked asked.
“I went to Maru-a-Pula School. It’s a private school, you know. Very prestigious and expensive.” He said, bragging.
“I see. Well, good for you.” leo said, politely.
He continued to talk about his school, his grades, his achievements, and his plans. He said he was studying pharmacy, and he wanted to be the best in the field. He said he had a lot of knowledge and experience, and he was ready for any challenge. He also said he had a lot of friends and admirers, and he was always having fun. He said he was happy and successful, and he wanted to share his happiness and success with others. He said he was generous and kind, and he wanted to help others. He said he was a good guy, and he wanted to make a difference.

He sounded like a nice guy, but I also felt a bit annoyed by him. He seemed to be arrogant and boastful, and he talked too much. He also seemed to be interested in everyone and everything, and he asked too many questions. He also seemed to be nosy and intrusive, and he gave too many opinions.
I was about to excuse myself, when I saw a girl walking towards us , it was Alexa . She had long blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a cute smile. She reminded me of my ex-girlfriend, who had the same features. She looked so much like her, it was uncanny. I felt a pang in my chest, but I tried to ignore it.
“Hi, I’m Alexa. I’m from Gaborone. What about you?” She said to Leo who was sitting next to me and dave
“Hi, I’m Leo. I’m from Francistown.” Leo said , while I on the side tried by all means to force a smile, how could she greet Leo before me ?
“Nice to meet you, Leo. Are you excited for the pharmacy program?” She asked.
“Actually......I'm a chemist ” Ieo said.
“I guess you can call pharmacists chemists who specialize in medicine.” She said, coming to the same conclusion I had come to after leo told me afterall since the college we were in was a medical college , why would there be a chemist?
We chatted a bit more as a group after Alexa sat down and just like that 30 mins passed and strangely enough the Lecture for our first class still hadn't shown up until suddenly Leo checked his watch with a wide grin and stood up
"I'm actually a chemistry lecturer," Leo said, grinning.
We all stared at him in disbelief. He was our new lecturer? He looked more like a student than a teacher. He must have seen the shock on our faces, because he chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I'm not here to spy on you or anything. I just wanted to get a feel of the class before I introduce myself."
He then stood up and walked to the front of the room, where he plugged his laptop into the projector. He cleared his throat and said, "Hello, everyone. I'm Leo, and I'm your new chemistry lecturer. I hope you're all ready to learn some exciting stuff about atoms, molecules, and reactions."
The rest of the students, who had been chatting or checking their phones, suddenly looked up and gasped. They had the same expression of surprise and confusion that we had. Leo smiled and said, "I know what you're thinking. I look too young to be a lecturer, right? Well, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have a PhD in chemistry from Oxford University, and I have been working as a research scientist for the past five years. I have published several papers in prestigious journals, and I have received several awards for my work. I decided to become a lecturer because I wanted to share my passion and knowledge with the next generation of scientists. I hope you will find my lectures interesting and engaging, and I look forward to getting to know you all better."
He then proceeded to give us an overview of the syllabus, the assessment methods, and the expectations for the course. He spoke with confidence and enthusiasm, and he used simple and clear language to explain complex concepts. He also cracked some jokes and asked us some questions to keep us involved. He seemed to be a natural teacher, and I found myself paying attention and taking notes.
By the end of the lecture, I was impressed by Leo. He was not only smart and experienced, but also friendly and approachable. He seemed to genuinely care about our learning and our success. He even gave us his email and phone number, and told us to contact him anytime if we had any questions or problems.
As we packed our bags and left the room, I turned to Leo and said, "Hey, Leo. That was a great lecture. You really know your stuff."
"Thanks, Jake. I appreciate it. And thanks for letting me sit next to you. It was nice to meet you and your friends," he said.
"No problem. It was nice to meet you too. See you next week," I said.
"See you then. Have a good day," he said, waving.
I walked out of the room with Dave and Alexa, feeling excited and curious about the new lecturer. He was not what I had expected, but he was definitely a pleasant surprise. I wondered what else he had in store for us.......END OF EPISODE 4
