A Weeb’s Dream Come True (But Also, What the Heck?)

So, quick recap: I woke up in the middle of nowhere, face-first in a field of glittery grass. There was a strange, glowing journal beside me, yes right why the journal have to glow, and my clothes got swapped out for some fantasy RPG outfit. That part was weird. But you know what’s even weirder? The people (and non-people) I’ve met so far. I am not able to stop staring at the peoples tails and ears, sometime they think I am into them, even men.

Let me tell you about my first day in Krishara.

After Fenric the wolfman gave me the crash course on “Welcome to a Magical World 101,” I decided to head into the nearest village. My first real encounter with the locals was... well, an experience.

I was still getting used to the fact that I’d been isekai’d when an elf shopkeeper scolded me for tripping over a cart of glowing apples. I tried to apologize, but then I got distracted because—get this—the apples were literally levitating. Meanwhile, a dwarf behind me was yelling at a fairy for cutting in line (how does a creature that small cause that much chaos?). Oh, and there was a slime creature trying to haggle with a merchant. Yes, a slime. It didn’t have a mouth, but somehow, I knew it was arguing about the price of a potion.

Honestly, I’ve never felt more like the side character in someone else’s fantasy novel.

I almost forgot to mention the weird leather-bound journal that came with me. It’s been glowing off and on like it’s trying to tell me something. I finally opened it when I was alone, and guess what? The thing started writing back. Apparently, it’s enchanted, and it’s decided I’m its new “keeper.” Keeper of what? No idea. But hey, it’s got infinite pages, so that’s a win.

After surviving the chaos of the marketplace, I decided I needed answers. Fenric pointed me toward the village library—a cozy, tower-like building run by an elderly elf named Elowen. She didn’t seem surprised when I told her I was “not from around here.” I guess being isekai’d happens more often than I thought?

The library was amazing. Shelves full of books floated in midair, and there were magical lights that followed you around so you could read comfortably. I learned about the different regions of Krishara and the species that inhabit them. Turns out, demons aren’t the “grr, destroy everything” type here. They’re more like elemental beings who coexist with everyone else. I even found a book on dragons—spoiler: they’re as majestic as you’d hope, but apparently, they don’t appreciate being called “cute.” Noted.

Since I’m not exactly rolling in riches, I took up some odd jobs around the village. Turns out, “adventurer” is a legit career path here. I spent the day delivering packages (one of which may or may not have contained a baby slime—long story) and earned enough gold to rent a room at the Laughing Lantern Inn, the cheapest motel in town. It’s... quaint. By “quaint,” I mean the floor creaks, the walls are paper-thin, and the bed feels like it’s stuffed with rocks. But hey, it’s home for now.

Here’s the thing: as much as I should be panicking about being stranded in another world, I’m not. I mean, sure, I miss the internet, and I have no idea if I’ll ever get back to Earth, but let’s be real—this is every weeb’s dream. Magic? Check. Cool fantasy creatures? Check. Dragons? Big check.

Back home, I was just another ordinary guy. Here, I have a journal that writes back to me, a world full of adventure, and endless possibilities. Honestly? I think I might like it here.

Tomorrow, I’m heading to Solkris. The capital is supposed to be incredible, and I can’t wait to see it. Until then, here’s to another day of not dying in Krishara.
