The Indestructible Invulnergirl Chapter Forty-One

FORTY-ONE

Invulnergirl walked into the store where Hank and the others were hiding. They greeted here enthusiastically.

“I will stay with you until The Heroic Alliance shows up. They should be here soon,” she said.

Then, with a loud BANG a hole in the sidewall appeared. Crawling through it was a man in a red, gleaming armored suit. From red helmet with a yellow faceplate it sounded, “Surprise!”

Invulnergirl instinctively stood in front of her friends and family. “Stay behind me.”

The armored man said, “The first thing I decided to do when I picked up this armor from my safehouse was crushing your pretty little face, child. You’ve been quite a pain to my operation. A lot my men carry bodycams. I saw via their streams what you did to the last of my men you took out. I am going to kill you and make sure you never bother me again.”

“The Red Raider himself! What an honor!” Invulnergirl said. She wasn’t so sure as she tried to sound, but she was really starting to pick up some things from her time with The Athlete. “Good luck trying kill me. As you may have seen by now I am indestructible.”

“We’ll see about that,” the armored Red Raider said. He slapped at Invulnergirl, the robotic strength of the suit hurling her across the room. Hank screamed, worried about his friend.

The Red Raider jumped, cybernetic pistons making him airborne. He came down with a crash on top of Invulnergirl. Then he started to rain blows on her with his metal fists.

The sound was terrible, Hank covered his ears. The Red Raider was clearly intend on destroying his friend.

The shadow of The Red Raider cast over her, Invulnergirl smiled. No bruise on her. “Are you tired yet?”

She pushed with all the strength in her legs against The Raider, who lost his balance and fell down on his back. Invulnergirl turned the tables on him, jumping on top of him, hammering at him with her indestructible fists. The armor however, was too thick.

The Raider raised a hand and some kind of energy blast shot from it that sent Invulnergirl flying through the room. The Raider got back on his feet and kept on blasting the heroine. While the blasts pushed her back a little, she wasn’t hurt by them.

“Why don’t you die?!” The Red Raider shouted, frustrated.

“My name should have given you a hint,” Invulnergirl said.

“Raaaaaah!” The Red Raider screamed and ran towards her. He wrapped his mechanic hands around her throat and started to squeeze. However, it was like trying to squeeze steel.

Invulnergirl was starting to get worried. Would she really be able to take this any longer? She really didn’t seem to feel anything though. She tried to push the villain away from her, but his grip was too strong. She kicked at his armor, but without any use.

Raging, The Red Raider flung her through the room again. She crashed into the wall. Panting, The Red Raider said, “All right, if I can’t kill you, I will every last one in this room instead!”
