Chapter 3: Rajis De'Vo
Within one of the many forests upon the lands of the world is home to a Origin of the human race, Rajis De’Vo given to this man who has live into the later years of his life, built his home within a forest far away from the eyes of others. Did this man who wilfully set up a home in a monster filled forest dislike being social, other Origins or just life outside of the secluded forest. In a way some of these reasons are true, from his many years of living he has experienced many things within the world.
He was born and raised within the kingdom of Haven that is only a small part of the world, in his childhood he didn't know of this fact yet that is to be expected of a child. Living in a somewhat peaceful kingdom where the only threats were the rare monsters and the politics of those in higher status. The days where his father would happily train him in fighting so that the child would have the freedom to do what he want in the future, either to follow in his father’s footsteps as a soldier or anything else, that was the freedom of choice.
He oddly could remember his desire to live peacefully as a farmer with the girl that he grew up with within the same city, it was a memory that felt so faded and almost hidden within darkness. It was only within the early stages of his adulthood that the world went into a new age, the relationships between the various races that he at least knew of during the time suddenly went hostile. It was around the same time that the monsters that naturally live within their own territory in balance was riled up, roaming outside of their natural territory and even raiding against other races in groups. The politics between and within the kingdoms were more occurring and unrestrained as if they were provoking each other.
He knew that the world wasn't peaceful, that there were evil and greedy Origins, still it felt like the gods was keeping everything balanced or maybe even the world. Then suddenly something just appear to disrupt or change that balance, there was no evidence that we could find or even accept but it seems we all could feel some change within ourselves.
That was also when the first Freemen arrived within our world, appearing out of nowhere within the races. I know that they are one of us yet at the same time are not, it always been a unnerving sensation that many has chosen to accept. To treat each Freemen as a special sub race of their own race, to judge them as individuals instead of a whole race otherwise we would have to judge the whole Origin main race. I can’t understand why I feel that this is correct and that I need to accept it, I would normally have done so like most of the others if it wasn't for that dredgeful day.
His memory of his childhood love still fresh within him, Rosalina Grev given to her from her loving parents who grew up within the same town. The memory of her flowing red hair with the lovely scent that she always seem to have, could only pain him now after all the years they grew up together. He even remember the sweet look upon her lovely face on the day that he requested her hand in marriage shortly after they cross into adulthood at 19 years of age.
It had only been close to a year after the violent unknown change within the world, only a couple of months after the arrival of the Freemen. There was death, destruction, confusion and uncertainty in the world still none of that matters to him at the time, only caring about his sweet Rosalina and their future adapting to the change.
It took him some months to get his hands on a farm near the outskirts of their home town, learning how to tend to the farm that will support their new lives together. It was all going so well for them until that one day when he had gone off to the town for supplies, only to have return to the sight of blood and mangled remains littered upon the farm. Rushing to the only recognizable remains of the upper body of Roselina whose lower half was roughly removed.
The tears that poured out from the depths of his heart from his eyes, were endless drops of pure despair and agony. His fingers slowly combing the red hair that he loved so much about his beloved, dye in a darker foul redness from soaking within her blood. His body that moment was empty with only the bare energy to bury his one purpose in life into the safety of the ground.
That moment was when the sadness within his heart became overfilled with intense hatred of lost and pain.
Voices nearby was the sole target of the intense hatred, coming from within their home that held the happy memories between himself and his love. His hand went to the sword tied to his waist with each heavy step he took towards the house, allowing the voices to become more clear to his hearing.
“Man, I didn't find anything good in this sh**hole other than some food and tools.”
The other voice that spoke next informed him that there were at least two vicious murderers of his wife.
“That doesn't matter man, we will be getting a lot of money from disrupting the economy of the nearby town. We still got a few more farms to wipe out before the next step.”
“I suppose so, at least I can try out some of my skills and get improvements from clearing out the farms. Killing is much more easy and fun in this world. We just need to hunt in the wild for a while and pay off some people to clear our marks.”
The laughter that follow after those words caused the hatred within himself to erupt, they killed Rosalina just for some money? For fun? I will kill and curse these Origins forever. His thoughts were blank the moment that he entered his home, since what was before him weren't true Origin ones but Freemen.
The scene that played out from that moment was swift and filled with rage, caught by surprise the sword from Rajis ripping apart the air into the bodies of the freemen. Limbs slicing off as they were flung among the room, his childhood training coming to his advantage to the unskilled Freemen. To his eyes were nothing but the target of his anger ripping apart bits and pieces of the Freemen, even after the light that took away their dead bodies that littered around the room, his sword never stop swinging into the illusions of his hatred until his stamina ran out.
Upon the bloody floor of his house that once filled the beautiful memories of his love is now tainted, with the same colour of the lovely hair that reminds him of his lover.
It took him some days of weeping in memory of his love and the dying of his hatred before he took his first steps out of his past home, he couldn't force himself to remain in such a place anymore. His new purpose in life to travel around the world to drive away the pain that haunts his memories and heart, heading into the nearby town to stock up on his supplies before heading off only to freeze in disbelief.
His hatred that he thought was buried within the dark pits of his being was forced out again upon the sight of the Freemen that killed his wife, they were alive once again happily talking within the town. He could remember his disbelief then anger at the gods and Freemen for bringing back the lives of those foul ones yet not his innocent sweet love. Why can they continue to live when they have done such foul things, it is an injustice upon the world that he must fix.
He could remember reaching for his sword yet unable to pull it out, regardless of the burning hatred within his core for the two Freemen in his sights. His body couldn't take any hostile action against them, why won’t his body answer his cries of pain? Something is forcing him to now ignore their past crimes against him as if the false death before was enough to pay for their actions.
What kind of madness is this, is this the cruel joke of the gods or even the Freemen themselves. I can’t forgive those two Freemen regardless of how many false deaths they go through. I remember those thoughts of mine at the time with having tried so long to act against them, only to painfully give up on his vengeance that has broken his heart.
Those were the last days that he ever had within his home town, one that is filled with the beginning of the harsh truth that he has experienced by the Freemen and the enslaved Origins.
Since that point of time, I have travelled across the lands of the world to escape my pain. I have encountered many monsters that I have crushed with my skills that were fuel by my hatred. Many encounters with other Origin who have become warped from experiences with Freemen or remain the same, at times I wasn't sure if the world even have changed. Each time those thoughts of mine were changed by the encounters with the Freemen, who seem more wild, evil, good, honourable than any Origin but the one thing I noticed was how free their actions were.
The Freemen were able to take any action they wish without anything restraining them like the origin ones, no matter how evil or how good the actions were. They seem to be favoured by the gods of our world while we were turned into slaves. Many of us didn't notice these things but there were a few Origins that took notice, even so they couldn't voice them out to the public or even to the Freemen, Restrained each time just like when I tried to take my vengeance many years ago.
I knew that not all of the Freemen were evil that were out to harm us, during my adventures I was able to meet a few of them who were noble and good. Still even among them I would only call a rare few a friend, since even those who acted for the good of others was just a mask to advance themselves among us. I would notice at times the ugly truth behind some of their masks that would look down upon us as mere steps or toys to meet their desires. I have experienced Origin ones who used others behind a mask of kindness to further themselves, still not a single one ever had that look in their eyes that most of the Freemen had of us.
As if our even existence was false to them.
Rajis thoughts were suddenly broken by the sharp sound that came from his wooden door, dragging him away from the painful memories of his past. Noticing the presence of someone waiting in front of his door, was it a Origin one or perhaps another Freemen that will force him to give them a means to gain something from him even if against his will.
The heavy sound of the door being pulled open echo in his ears with revealing the person waiting outside. The sight of the tall teen whose slender body was filled with the supple lean muscle that weren't over trained or lacking, caught his trained eye but also the blue eyes that held only a weak light of life within them, staring back at him was quite unnerving to himself. Even the appearance of the dirty ragged simple clothing that he wore, unknowing that they only became like that only a few hours ago, was quite fitting of this Origin appearance. It was only after he finish taking note of the youngster’s blue short hair, that he felt something off about the strange lad before him.
--------------------
The sensations of his new body is both confusing yet interesting, forming new questions within himself with each step he took towards the unknown structure before him, only to link them to his vague record of limited knowledge. It is from this very method that he improves his knowledge of weather conditions, exhaustion, brightness and many other aspects of himself and the world. The appearance of the transparent windows that would pop up randomly to inform him of information was quite helpful.
[p=center]Satiety has been lowered from 100% to 80%[/p]
Satiety? Similar to full or satisfaction, so I am not full or satisfy by something? Is it a reaction to moving or using energy? I don’t understand so I will need to store away the knowledge until more facts come to light.
[p=center]You have observed the Nexus Flower.
Nexus Flower is a uncommon flower that is only found within certain forests,
they have been known for being good ingredients for alchemist and tailors.[/p]
This window of vast knowledge titles this flower as Nexus Flower, so is that the name given by the world, the Origin ones or by the Freemen? If the window of knowledge is an ability of the Freemen then did they decide the name of this flower? Then there are alchemist and tailors, roles or is it jobs, the word profession also comes from my mind at the thought of the terms. So many questions, that I desire to find the answers to.
It was only until Ligius reach the door of the structure that his thoughts that were wandering, slowly coming to a halt upon the wooden entrance that he recognize from his limited knowledge. The rise of a single train of thought would force his body into action without his knowing, with the gentle impacts of his fist tapping upon the wooden door. This action felt correct to him vaguely as if he had the experience within his mind but it wasn't one that he was involved in.
It didn't take long for the door that he knocked upon to open up and reveal the home owner, suddenly the sensation of some shock ripples through his senses as if some overbearing form emitted from the being… person in front of him. Every fibre within his body shook and came to a halt before the presence of the aged man, clearly formed muscles that has developed from years of training and experience.
[p=center]State of Fear
Your body has been overcome with fighting spirit far greater than your own, causing
a decrease in performance for a limited time.
- 25% reduced stats to all
- Stamina drain will double
- Skills will have increase chance of failure to activate[/p]
State of Fear? Does this mean that I am afraid, was that the sensation that took control of my body for the moment? Is my fear trying to tell me to avoid this Origin… man, who dwells within this structure of the forest? I remember that my god sent me here to meet someone who can give me strength. Ori- Man that stands before me, are you the one that is able to give me the strength that my god had mentioned to me.
There is an odd silence between the two with Ligius staring directly into the eyes of the man whose very existence is causing his own to tremble. He is trying to ask Rajis with the thoughts within his mind, expecting to hear an answer in reply to his thoughts like in the past with his god.
“Lad, why are you just silently staring at me? What is the purpose of you coming to my doorstep?” Rajis voice that questions out to the young lad in front of him is clearly full of confusion, just having some inexperienced lad of his fellow Origin silently stare at him with clear unknown intentions.
Ligius thoughts going through his mind at the moment couldn't reach the man in front of him, no not reach but more like read. Was the gift or ability to read my thoughts unique to his god or all of the gods themselves. This is troublesome for I need to reveal my intentions to this Ori- man, I need to refine myself more to judge the correct terms for the correct situation. How is he revealing his intention to me? Just sound, tones which are formed by the physical body with the use of neck… no throat muscles themselves.
“Arhhhhhhh.”
The sound that he produces by opening his mouth and simulating his throat muscles was just the one that echo from his mouth. Ligius is still complexed by the different result of what he was expecting and he wasn't the only one with the man in front of him also filled with confusion at the event.
There is more to producing sounds then just the use of throat muscles, search within my knowledge and observe the experienced one before him. Ligius eyes focusing much more intensely upon the man, even causing the fighting spirit being emitted to waver ever so slightly.
“Listen lad, I can’t stand here all day. So tell me what you want already or just leave.”
“a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, v, x, y, z.”
The letters that swiftly flow from the twisting of Ligius lips and mouth, easily causes the man to step back slightly at the sudden insanity that is playing out in his sight. Even so the speed of learning how to speak starting to form within his thoughts, using the ghost memory from his knowledge gained from the mother tree.
“Ori- man, no sir or is it elder? I have been sent here by my fath- no god to receive the strength to find the answers to my questions.”
Carefully crafted words that fell from the lips of Ligius were clearly unrefined and almost childlike, Rajis confusion didn't lift upon finally hearing a full sentence from the lad, only to deepen even more with how empty his very actions have felt.
“Tsk, don’t you dare call me elder. I am still within my prime… not that it matter in these woods. Rajis is the name given to me since birth. God… why should I come to the aid of any accused god. The fact that they would even come to the aid of another Origin is simply unbelievable to me, lad.”
Rajis throwing those words harshly to the young lad due to the deep hatred within the pit of his core towards the Gods and Freemen. His belief that only hell awaits the Origin at the hands of the Freemen that are favoured by the gods themselves, being one of the many reasons why he hid himself away in these woods.
“Not elder? Prime? Should be addressed by title of Rajis. There is refusal to come to one’s, no my aid from the Origin known as Rajis? What is my next course of action? What is the answer, will God Mummu apply me with the next course?”
The reply coming from the young lad in front of Rajis appears so broken and filled with uncertainty, it was actually enough to give him a headache with pressing against the side of his forehead to halt it.
“Accused Gods, why do you speak like that lad? It is almost enough for me to just strike you down to end this confusion of mine.”
“One known as Rajis, you have refusal to aid me as my god had claim you would, brings my purpose to a halt at this time. Since my god has sent me here for a purpose that I decided to follow.
One known as Rajis, is your refusal due to your enslavement to the Freemen?”
How did this happen, with Rajis strong hand gripped around the throat of the lad who is now being push into the grassy ground of the woods. The hatred within the eyes of Rajis are enough to be label as wrath itself. The confusion that was within himself from facing the young lad, suddenly twists into a boiling heat of hatred from the last few words spoken. His body launching itself like a spring towards the lad with his steel like hand gripping strongly around the slender neck within his sights. The strength behind his raging body forcing the lad onto his back upon the firm ground that prevents his movement backwards.
“I will not accept such a fate, I am not someone without choice or thoughts. Feeble Origin are you like the rest who has accepted such a fate, to forgo freedom at the cost of simply existing? My hatred of the gods and Freemen is mighty but so is my hatred of those Origin who has accepted this world willingly. Does the gods themselves aid you just because of your acceptance as mere sheep to the Freemen?!?”

[p=center]412 Damage received!
Only 188 life remaining.
You have been stunned for 5 seconds.[/p]
His focus was not upon the man who now holds his neck and life within his hand, only upon the new window that has appear itself between them, lingering pain echoing through his body that cripples his mind. Damage? Pain from the damage too. One known as Rajis has cause injuries to my physical form. Is this common for Origins, Freemen or all existences upon the world? Why did the one known as Rajis injure… attack me? I can hear him saying something to me… It is a question directed to me, is he seeking an answer to it like me? Still why did he attack me, was it required for him to ask me the question or a means to gain the answer? Is it due to my own words or actions? Are all existences so complex?
“I am confused by your question or merely lacking the knowledge to answer it to your expectations. If you are asking me if I am bound by chains like other existences… no slaves… no Origins. The answer that I can form from my knowledge is that I am not bound as a slave, that the Freemen have no control over me. That what was told to me by my God Mummu.”
Silence was all that fell over the two of them after those words were spoken by Ligius, his silence being one that observes and study another Origin with more experience and knowledge than his own. Rajis silence being one of doubt and suspicion upon the statement given by the Origin lad within his grasp, who is having trouble with the claim of this Origin having complete freedom within this accursed world.
“Don’t you dare lie to me about such a claim, to even joke about such a thing is enough for me to close my hand. There is no free Origin within this world of ours.”
“Is it false? That is strange. The god who created me told me that I was free of the chains that bounds all other Origin yet you claim otherwise. What is the true and false? My status window that reveals my inner self claims the same as my god.”
Once again from the trigger in his words, arrives the status window from thin air as if it was always there. The same knowledge from the first time once again before his eyes, missing out on the fact that the hand around his neck has already released him.
Rajis didn't know how to think or act with the young lad in front of him, speaking easily of words that shouldn't be possible yet clearly not lying to him. Releasing the lad’s neck from his hand with finding himself curious to the truth hidden within the lad.
“The words that you speak are strange with some unknown to me, I notice that you are not lying to me and most likely believe what you claim. Come inside so I can try to decipher your head splitting words.”
Ligius body only lifts itself up from the stiff ground once his stun status has expired, his eyes watching the strange man head off into the hut like structure. His legs weakly allowing his damaged body to stand up, following the man who has given permission to enter his home. The many objects within were pulling ghost memories and knowledge from the depth of his mind, slowly linking the image of each man made furniture, tool and other objects to the knowledge given by the mother tree.
“Stove, knife, herbs, meat, bed, table, shelf.”
Muttering the words to himself not softly nor loud, in his normal voice without thought of how he would appear to the man that simply finds himself lost upon the sight of Ligius actions. Eventually sitting down upon one of the chairs to the table, following the example being set by the more experienced man before him.
“So lad, what are you called by?”
“Called? Another term for addressed, usually by name but sometimes by title. My name given to me by my god is Ligius Nagu.”
If the sight of Rajis buried within his hands in annoyance wasn't clear enough, the big depressed sigh that followed, clearly define his current mood with listening to Ligius.
“Lad, is there really a need for you to ponder things loudly? What are you, some kind of mimic.”
“Loudly? The tone of my volume is higher than acceptance? I am an Aberration, at least that is what the window of knowledge tells me.”
“No, I am not talking about your volume…. Just forget about that. What do you mean by Aberration, oddly I feel like that is the name of a race. Then there is that odd talk of windows of knowledge or whatever it is.”
“Aberration, I don’t quite understand it either. My god told me that I am an unique race of both Origin and Freeman, natural to the world yet not bound by chains like other Origin due to my Freeman side? You do not have a status window too? Is it a Freemen thing only?”
The quick replies between the two suddenly cease with the impact of Rajis fists upon the wooden table top, the blunt sound echoing louder than any of the words they have spoken yet around the table.
“Impossible! You are part Origin and Freeman? So you are a child born between the two. Then aren't you also a Freeman that toys with us Origin?”
“I am not certain about what I am, only what I was told by my god who created me. I doubt that I am like other Freeman due to the words of my god who wanted me to be more of a Origin with freedom. Could my conclusion be wrong, perhaps?”
Rajis slowly open his clenched fists upon the table with each word spoken by Ligius, he couldn't believe each and every word spoken by the one in front of him who didn't have a hint of ill or false intentions. Only laughter burst out of his mouth towards the sky, one filled with so much mix emotion at the existence in front of himself and even by the hands of the very gods that he endlessly cursed.
Such a strange man is all that I can think about the one who is known as Rajis, filled with such raw emotions which seem to control him at will. First the experienced man was confused then filled with rage, confused again only to get angry and now laughter? Is this the standard of Origins and what I am to become? Complex… so complex.
“Hahahaha. It has been years since I have been able to feel so unburdened, you are indeed something special in many ways. So why has your so called god sent you to me?”
“His words to me was the act of sending me to a place that holds a master who will teach me the basics of combat. Since I arrived in this forest, you were the only Origin that I had encountered.”
“It is most likely me since I don’t know of anyone else who lives in these woods. I am curious as to what motivates you, a existence that is from a sin and a slave yet none applies to you.”
“Sin? An immoral act against the divine law, that seems thinly correct in some views. What motivates me? Motivate, goal, desire or purpose. My purpose is to find the answers to my questions, I was told by my god that to be able to do that will require strength to endure the harshness of life.”
“Strength to endure the harshness of life, indeed.”
With that last sentence from Rajis who is standing now from the table, looking down at the lad with a smile of excitement. He doesn't understand the goal of the god who had done this, feeling that the lad in front of him offers a path of freedom to him that was once closed.
“I will give you the strength that you require then lad, it is time to train that body and mind of yours.”
“Train? to undergo rigorous actions to improve oneself or acquire something more. Is this the method of acquiring strength?”
The annoyed sigh that follows Ligius words is one of regret and concern about the lad.
--------------------------
[p=center]Strength increased by 1[/p]
[p=center]Vitality increased by 1[/p]
[p=center]Satiety has been lowered from 60% to 40%[/p]
The sight of these windows are quite common for Ligius now due to the actions that he was following, with the swing of the axe between his hands arcing around him into the side of a tree. This has been one of a few tasks that was provided to Ligius from the experienced master, it is a common scene that one would expect upon watching a student learning from the master. Only if it wasn't for the odd start that occurs between the two upon explaining each task.
“Alright now you are to chop down the trees to build up your strength, only once you have gotten some of the strength can you start learning techniques.”
“Chop? It is similar to slash, slice and cut. I will need to strike down the trees, to gain strength. One known as Rajis, how does such a method produce strength? Why does techniques require strength when techniques is a method to release more strength?”
Those who are considered as masters are expected to have great patience when teaching their students, Rajis on the other hand doubts anyone has ever try to teach someone as clueless as Ligius. He actually doesn't think clueless is the right term since the lad would understand everything explained to him the first time, it is more like the lad is missing the foundations that everyone else naturally had. Even so he couldn't think too badly of the lad who would follow the task with full focus, so much so that he could call the lad mindless in a way after answering his initial questions.
[p=center]Satiety has been lowered from 20% to 0%
You are starving.
You are thirsty.
Failure to consume some food within the next 30 minutes will lead to death.[/p]
The appearance of this window that Ligius has been unable to understand is with the lingering sound of his stomach growling in hunger, the mere unknown sound coming from his stomach was enough to cause his body training to halt.
“One known as Rajis, the window of knowledge is informing me that I will die soon since I am starving and thirsty. Should I take action to prevent this?”
Rajis is in silence at hearing such an unconcern question from the lad, unable to believe that he is even asking of such a thing.
“Are you a fool? Of course you should prevent your death, you only have one life so you need to keep it for as long as you can.”
“Do I? I was informed that I am unable to completely die like the Freemen, always reviving later with each death.”
“What! Well suppose that would make sense if you are part Freemen. Still you foolish lad, you should avoid dying pointlessly. To have no fear or regard for such a thing, is only a person that isn't alive but dead inside.”
“Is that so? I don’t have such a thing, so am I not alive? Living? Dead or is it undead?”
“I don’t even know anymore, your existence and the very nature of it’s creation seems to be outside of the natural laws of the world. Seriously this -”
“It seems the window of knowledge is informing me that my time to death is even shorter than before.”
“Accursed Gods! I going to shove the food down your throat!”
Rajis is furious at the emotionless concern about his own life, forcing him to drag the foolish lad with his experienced strength into the hut and over to his storage of food. The next couple of minutes are quite an exhausting event for Rajis, Ligius discovering a lot about the different foods and liquids that he was forced to consume with different sensations in forced silence.
The air between the two is clearly one with an easy mood, The curious Ligius whose empty like innocence easily disrupts the serious bitterness of Rajis. It has been many years since Rajis has felt this kind of peace within his damaged life, it only serves to fuel his desire to prepare the lad even more.
The current situation now with the two outside of the hut once again, the once calm air becoming more stiffen within seconds with Rajis starting to explain to Ligius.
“I believe that enough body building has been followed for you to start learning techniques, I will be teaching you hand to hand combat which I believe is required for all warriors. Regardless of any future choice of weapon or situation, you will always be able to use your unarmed combat skills with it. So I want you to copy my actions with learning each of them, starting of single attacks into combos and patterns.”
Ligius listening to Rajis explanation was leading to questions with going to ask them only to be cut off sharply by the man.
“STOP! I know what you are going to do, so I will stop you first. Leave your questions for later, just copy my actions for now.”
With this Ligius simply withheld his questions to himself and choosing to observe the man closely, whose loose stance is changing before his eyes into a firm and stable one.
[p=center]State of Fear

It feels like some kind of pressure is emitting from the man before himself, Ligius body once again physically shivering from such a force which causes the very hairs on his skin to raise. The sensation didn't cause any emotional disturbance within him, only the physical disturbance is taking his focus. Only leading to a slight pause within Ligius actions, shifting around his limbs and balance to set up the similar stance in front of himself. His feet eventually in the correct positions with one slightly ahead of his body with the other in reverse behind him, twisting his hips slightly to allow his chest to turn to the side of his facing direction. The two facing each other in similar positions now with one hand in front but close to the body to guard with the front foot, the hand and foot farther away for offense and tactical means, leaving the rest of his body turned to the side to reduce surface to strike.
With the safe distance between the two already have been set by Rajis, he begins to reveal each move set that he has acquired or created over his years of adventures. He was never one to learn with the mind but instead by the body, so Rajis intend to teach in the same manner with revealing each of his moves without a single explanation upon them. This type of training is a harsh one would only certain instinctive type of people would be able to learn from, there would be doubt that Ligius would learn a single thing this way, if it wasn't for the fact that in his current state he was like a sponge that was sucking everything he is experiencing completely. It was only due to that fact which made him a headache to Rajis and more helpless than a child yet able to mimic each move perfectly. Still there was one wrong thing that Rajis was feeling to be quite off.
“Lad can’t you like show any spirit when you do the moves? I can see that you can use the moves correctly but it just feels wrong. Like facing a training dummy.”
“Spirit? you mean my soul or life? How am I meant to use that with the moves?”
Another sigh quickly escapes Rajis with hearing the response from the lad, he just doesn't know what to do with him. He will need to actually get a bit serious with the lad in an actual fight to try to awaken something within him.
Tension in the air between the two suddenly denses with Rajis forcing himself into a quick dash towards Ligius, the strength of the man’s feet leaving a firm imprint upon the ground beneath him. Within mere seconds his body was already in front of the lad with speed that befitted one of his experience, his fist once tucked to his side forcing the air aside with it travelling next to Ligius head with trained insight and control. The sight of the explosive charge from the powerful built man, along with the sudden pressure of wind forced aside by the arm that now fill the space between Ligius head would cause some reaction to others. Only this lad who didn't even have the aspect of fear let alone any other emotion within him, didn't react to the situation.
“I am not sure if I should be concern or frighten by you lad. This is a serious manner, the fact you don’t even fear for your life mentally will always prevent you from getting stronger.”
“One known has Rajis, I can’t see why fear is required to be strong. Wouldn't it instead make you weaker?”
“It is not strange to think that but it is strange to not have any fear. Accursed gods… There are two important aspects in a fight above all else, fighting spirit and fear. Fighting spirit is what motivates your actions and force within a fight, it helps decides if you use your whole strength or none at all while also being able to go over your limit. There is many things that can enforce and increase your fighting spirit from revenge to honour, basically the reason that drives you. Usually the thing that first forms or enlarge it during fights, is fear of death, fear of lost or fear in general. It is a double edge sword that can hold you back or push you forward, many warriors train just to gain the right balance of fear. Fear is also important to judge your situation and opponent, to not carelessly make any mistakes.”
Only thing that cause the pause between his explanation to the lad was a loud sigh at the problem before continuing.
“To defeat an opponent or win, is extremely unlikely to impossible without at least the fear within yourself. I seriously don’t know how to train you from here on without it. I have at least shown you the move sets and patterns. Only thing left is to just release you into the wild and hope for the best.”
Regretting the fact that Rajis couldn't teach the lad with the means to survive in combat, starts to inform him the tales of his adventures and anything that he could think to tell the lad. It was quite painfully clear to him with the matter of Ligius understanding of the world, deciding to at least improve it somewhat.
Ligius didn't interrupt the very vast knowledge that was being given to him by Rajis, soaking it all within himself with linking multiple answers to questions in his mind. Each time attaining any knowledge, it becomes a piece of a puzzle that attaches to other puzzle pieces to fill in the holes and reveal the picture.
Slowly but surely he is changing and improving inside but to what end.
