Adrian's pov-

As I sigh and think. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten mad.

I walk to my next class, and when I enter the room, sitting at the back, I see my two best friends Ricky and Calvin.

"Hey guys!" I said

They waved as I sat down by them.

"You guys won't believe what happened to me this morning."

They looked up, and Calvin said "I'm going to assume that the Golden Boys beat you up again."

"Well yes, but other than that, a girl helped me, and no, just any girl, Alya Harris," I say.

They look shocked and I chuckle but then Ricky says.

"Are you joking? She wouldn't help a fire element; her parents would kill her if they found out."

"Well, not my problem; she chose to help me," I say, looking bored.

We then had someone come in to give us a report on how school was going. When I finished it, she told us that we could work on homework because that was all she needed us to do. So I went on my laptop and played games until class ended.

I walked out of class and went to lunch. When I got in line, I slowly got pushed to the back by the air and water element kids.

Ayla's pov-

My next class was math, so I left the art room and walked to my next class. When I went inside, I saw Alice, my best friend.

I sat down at our usual spot, and I told her everything that had happened to me.

"Are you laughing, Alice?" I a bit bored.

"Well, everything you just told me sounds so interesting!" she laughs again.

"Well, then if you want my 'interesting' life, you can have it, and the boy I helped this morning, yeah, he's kind of weird, and I don't know what to do because if my parents find out I died," I say frantically.

"Girl, calm down," Alice says. "Don't worry, no one is going to tell them, and besides, if they do find out, they might be happy you helped someone in need," she says, looking at me.

"Anyway, let's work," I say, opening my laptop, and starting to work on my essay about dart frogs. As the end of the class rolls around, I am almost finished with my essay and very happy with how it is turning out.

Then the bell rang. I get up, grab my stuff, and then walk out of the classroom to go to lunch. When I get in there, I see that Alice has beat me to our regular table.

"How did you get here so fast?" I ask, walking up to the line for lunch.

"I ran," she says happily, and I laugh.

I look around for anyone until I see the boy I helped. I walked to the back of the line. "What's your name?" I ask him.

"Adrian," he says, and he moves as the line does. Alice then comes up behind me.

"Girl, what happened?" she asks.

"Nothing," I say.

Alice looks at me. And ask again what's wrong. I then told her there were too many people, and my anxiety was, of course, not helping the fact. She hugged me and made sure I was okay before we moved again. I noticed Adrian looking at me as Alice hugged me.

The line slowly kept moving as time passed, and they finally got food. Alice got a salad, and I got pizza. We then went to sit down. We talked about class and everything that happened over the weekend, and soon enough, lunch was over, and I was going to science class.

When I walk in, I notice Adrian sitting in the corner, so I go and sit down by him. As I get my stuff out, I hear him say

"If you're pitying me, you can leave," he says rudely. I look up from my bag.

"Excuse me, I chose to sit here; I'm not pitying anyone," I say, suddenly annoyed, so I finish grabbing my stuff and start doing my work.

I hear him sigh. "Look, I'm sorry," he says, getting cut off by a voice.

"Look, the two lovebirds are sitting together." I look up to see Alex, flip him off, and say, "Shut up, you idiot. Go pick on someone else before I get Mom on the phone," I say, shaking my head.

"You're the idiot; you realize you're sitting and talking to a fire element; Mom and Dad will kill you, and we know I'm their favorite, so they won't believe you if you say that you didn't."

I know he's right, so I get up, move away from Adrian, and start working.

I hear Alex say, That's what I thought, idiot. I ignore him and continue doing my work. Soon enough, class is over, and when class ends, I go to my locker, grab my stuff, and leave school.

As it was now the end of the day, on my way home, I heard yelling behind me. I turn around, and it's Alex and his friends. I ignore them and keep walking until they are following me.

They follow me all the way home and go inside while I say hi to my mom and dad, then go up the stairs to study. When I got up the stairs, I started studying until my mother called me down for dinner. I finished what I was doing and went to eat, but when I sat down, my mother was looking at me angrily.

"What did I do now, mom?" I am worried.

"You know very well how we feel about you talking to the earth or fire elements," she says harshly.

"But mom, you don't get it. Alex was beating him up; I was just helping him," I say, pleading. She doesn't even look over at Alex when I tell her this; she simply brushes it off as if it were nothing.

" My baby would never do something like that; you, on the other hand, maybe. You are grounded, you know we don't want you talking to the earth or fire elements."

I groan and look away.

"I'm sorry mom," I say and look down.

"Good, that's what I thought, lady, now go to your room," she screeches.

I go to my room and call Alice.

"She grounded me," I say, groaning again as I pace around my room. After I tell her everything that happened in great detail, I finally sit on my bed.

"Okay, wow, I did not think your parents would find out or that Alex would be that bitchy, but you know, new things happen every day," she says. I chuckled and lay on my bed.

"Well, now what am I supposed to do because I'm grounded, and now I can't go to the party on Saturday night?" I am listening to music while continuing to talk to Alice.

"You could always tell your parents you are spending the night with me. I could even go with you; they have always loved me." Alice says I know she's right. My parents have loved her ever since they met her 6 years ago.

"You're amazing I love you, Alice," I say smiling as I walk to the bathroom after a few minutes of talking I hang up.

I started washing my face until someone knocked on the door I quickly finished washing my face and opened the door to see my dad.

"Hey kiddo, I'm sorry about tonight you know your mother is a little strict with you, unlike your brother who is just watching out for you. I hope you know that and I believe you when you say that he was beating that kid up." My dad says and I smile. "Also you're not grounded anymore but I do want you to keep your distance from that boy so your brother and mother don't get upset anymore" I nod smiling he soon left and I finished up in the bathroom And then I went back to my room and changed into my pajamas. I then went to bed finishing a very interesting day.
