Tell me something.
Have you... ever wished you'd disappear? Have you ever thought of yourself as a simple waste of space that deserved nothing but pain and heartbreak... have you ever wanted to be someone else so much that you just want to kill yourself and see if it works?
I don't know about you, but I have. So many times.
See, people keep saying that everything's going to be okay. Everything's going to be fine, you'll forget about this one day, you won't be the same person you are now years later...
But they're wrong.
Nothing was okay. Nothing's ever going to be okay.
I'm damaged, and there's no cure for mental scars.
Especially if it's the kind that decays as time passes by.

August 17, 2013.
In the middle of a room painted with dull, lifeless colors, a little girl was happily humming to herself as she scribbled in her notebook. The mood she was giving off hugely contradicted the bland atmosphere of the room. She was like a tiny ball of light in the middle of the dark. She gave off a nice, warm feeling, that was soothing to the soul.
Unfortunately, in this dump of a world, such pure, kind things always end up tainted.
It was the sad reality.
A knock interrupted her fun alone time, and the girl curiously looked up and stared at the door, wondering who was behind it.
"...Celia?"

There was only one person who usually entered her room, and that was her personal maid, a middle-aged lady with a rather intimidating frown that immediately melts away at the sight of her little boss. Her name was Celia, and the little girl had grown used to her maid bringing her a glass of milk every night, exactly an hour before bedtime.
No one answered.
The thought of it being one or both of her parents crossed her mind, and the little girl smiled brightly.
"Mom? Dad?" She bounced in her seat excitedly. "Wait! I'm just, um, gonna take care of this..." Her voice turned quiet at the end as she brought her notebook and pencil back to her drawer as quickly as she could. After getting done with the task, she ran towards the door, smiling widely.
Before she could open the door herself, it was slammed open and the little girl jumped in surprise. A tall figure stood in front of her, and the girl squinted to confirm if the person was who she thought it was. It was hard, though, as she had never seen her dad in person, and only in pictures that Celia gave her, due to her incessant pleading. Her mom would visit her but even that was rare. She wasn't very happy with that, though, as her mom was not what she expected at all. She was cold, and only spoke to her about how she should act, where she was able to go, who she was supposed to be friends with, how high her grades were supposed to be, and threatened her to fulfill each and every goal so she would not tarnish the family name.
"...Dad?" She mumbled lowly, an excited smile slowly making its way onto her face.
The tall figure stepped forward and carried her in his arms. "Yes, kid. I'm your dad, and I'm getting you out of this hellhole, and away from that crazy woman."
The little girl was very happy. She sulked at the thought of leaving Celia, but then realized that she could still go back and bid her a proper goodbye, or at least send her a letter.
She was excited. This was going to be the best chapter of her life. Her dad was with her, and she would never have to see her 'mom' again. She bit her lip, remembering all the rejection she had experienced from her supposed mother. It hurt that she had to leave without patching things up, bit then again it wasn't even her fault to begin with. Plus, she was pretty sure there was nothing to look forward to with her mother in the story.
Positive thoughts filled her head as she smiled. She had her dad with her now. She couldn't even explain how happy she was at the moment.
She was wrong.
Because that night, was the night she regretted the most.
It was when everything changed, and it wasn't a good change, either.
