I glared at Feng Liu when he said he was going to support Hana. “Of course I will. Besides, I’ll be with that voluptuous woman that you like so much.”
“Huh?” he replied with a stupid face.
“Hmph!” was all I said, looking away from him while trying to hide my annoyance. “Get going already.”
And then I was the one that got going, flying at top speed over the treetop and over to where the Earth Summon was fighting with that Wolf-woman.
How was it that Feng Liu didn’t understand anything at all? I have been pretty obvious with my intentions towards him, but he just acts the same way as he did the first time we met. And it’s that way of acting of his that bothers me so much. He keeps seducing women left and right, like that Kang Hana, who was just some exchange mage that we got into our group for being talented…
I spat as I flew. Why couldn’t he just get any other mage?! A man could do just as fine! Like Shen Xi, that stupid ‘paladin’ that got killed last time trying to keep Kang Hana safe. I mean, I didn’t mind that he died, but seeing Feng Liu so distraught and angry about it, I couldn’t help but agree with whatever he wanted to do.
It also showed my weakness. If I was stronger, I could’ve dealt with that stupid elf when she showed up, which would've kept Feng Liu away from feeling anything painful or... even meeting with yet another strange woman, like the pretty one that does Darkness and Hellfire magic—Hell, I should become strong enough to make sure he doesn’t have to fight ever again… Just… stay under my caring love and I’ll make sure that nothing bad ever happens again…
While thinking those things, I quickly realized that I was about to crash with the Earth Summon. It was time to show both Feng Liu and every other woman that thinks she can get into his eyes who they’re messing with. I swiped my arm, and from my back, the summoned Steel Blades flew at an even higher speed than my own speed.
They cut the air, and in the blink of an eye, they crashed with the Earth Summon. I clenched my fist, and each one of those swords exploded into a mess of steel in every direction. Just like a grenade.
The Earth Summon roared with a pained voice as its right arm was blown to pieces, but right after taking a step back, the very rocks that had been blown off its arm stopped mid air and quickly returned to the same position that they were before. It seemed like whoever was behind this Earth Summon wasn’t some run-of-the-mill mage…
“Finally decided to help?” the big chested wolf-woman said as she flew up to me.
I looked at those balls on her chest and felt annoyed. This woman… why can’t she see how annoying her appearance was?! I wanted to point that out so much; however, now wasn’t the time to be saying such things, and as the perfect woman for Feng Liu, I shouldn’t be displaying such feelings, so I kept as much of an expressionless face as I could.
“We can’t waste time with this thing,” I said, turning my eyes away from her chest to the Earth Summon that was regaining its footing. “I can handle it alone if you wish.”
“Heh heh,” the curvy beastkin woman laughed with a near mocking tone, and I couldn’t help but turn to look at her smirking face. “I can say the same thing, y’know.”
Urhg! On top of having those annoying looks, she’s also got an annoying personality. Though… her saying that gave me the idea that perhaps I should let her fight alone—or better yet—act like I’m helping her until she dies, and then I can swoop in, finish off the enemies, stand out like the strongest woman, and show Feng Liu that I’m the only reliable woman that he could ever want in his life.
“If you wish to fight and die alone, then be my guest,” I replied with a soft and calm tone. Again, I couldn’t show what I was really feeling. Not proper for a good wife.
“Hm… You can be my backup if you want,” she said, crossing her arms under her chest, as if trying to frame them and annoy me by doing that.
No way I was going to allow this woman to be on the center of the stage! Now that I thought about it more, if she put up a good fight, and Feng Liu noticed her, he might just come down here to save her, and—and even fall in love with her too! No way! Noooo way!
“No. I’ll fight,” I replied, snapping my fingers in the air and summoning a few more Steel Blades on my back. “Earth Magic and everything related to it is my strength. If that Earth Mage thinks he can fight with someone that is able to control and create metals, then he’s going to suffer greatly for it.”
“Eh…” the vixen wolf-woman replied with an annoying smirk. “That’s good, and if things aren’t going well, then I’ll take care of it.”
This god damned beastkin!
“That won’t be necessary,” I replied, hiding as best as I could my annoyance.
The Earth Summon finally stabilized itself, and after a moment of looking this way with a pair of golden glowing eyes in its boxy head, it roared once more, swinging its right arm and sending the rock that it was using as a hand flying this way.
It was coming fast, but…
I stretched my right hand forward, wrestled control out of the mage behind this Summon away from that rock, and stopped it mid air.
The wolf-woman whistled, seemingly surprised. “You weren’t lying when you talked about your control over Earth Magic.”
“Of course not,” I calmly replied to this dumbass.
Then, motioning like I was pushing a ball forward with my hand, I used magic on the floating rock and returned it to the Earth Summon; faster, and heavier than it was before.
Stolen story; please report.
The Earth Summon didn’t move; didn’t block; didn’t even seem concerned about it. With the arm that it used to throw that rock, it simply stretched it forward, as if it was itself the one that was returning the rock… and perhaps it thought that it was the case but with a bit more magic used on the rock, I accelerated it even more, and in the next moment, the rock slammed with the stub of the arm that it had.
A loud boom followed by rocks flying all over the place and another pained roar was what remained of my attack. This Earth Mage seemed to be rather… weak. I couldn’t help but throw a look over at the wolf-woman. She might be really weak if by now she hadn’t dealt with this summon.
“What?” she asked, noticing the glance that I was giving her. “You think it’s that easy?”
“Well, it looked like the Mage behind this isn’t that capable when it comes to—”
A rock, in the shape of a spear, even faster than the one I threw, was flying my way. I snapped to look with widened eyes for a moment, before quickly raising my arms to block. The spear hit me, pushed me back a few meters away from where I was, and covered me with dirt.
“Get rid of that dirt, quickly,” the wolf-woman said with a serious look.
But I didn’t need her help with this. “Don’t worry about me. This is nothing compared to—”
The dirt that was left over my body started pressing down on me. I quickly realized now what she meant. That mage was trying to crush me, but he might just be underestimating me… just like I was doing to him.
I was getting angry at both fighting next to this big breasted wolf-woman and some unknown mage from a random country thinking that he could overpower me with something so weak.
With a pulse of magic from my body, I released all the dirt away from me, and with a swing of my arms, like an orchestra director moving, I collected all the dirt from the air. Once it was turned into the same spear that was thrown at me, I coated it with a layer of steel which glinted under the moonlight that suddenly appeared on top of the forest.
I furiously swiped my arm, and the spear flew through the air, booming as it cut the rain and caused the trees under it to sway after passing by. The Earth Summon wasn’t prepared for it this time since I wasn’t as far away anymore, so this spear cleanly cut through the place where the person controlling this Earth Summon was supposed to be.
An explosion of rocks flew from the back of the Earth Summon, and its golden eyes dimmed from the impact as the large rock body stumbled backwards.
“Good job,” the big breasted woman said. “I'll finish this.”
She boomed from her place in a burst of high speed. But I wasn’t going to let that woman take all the glory, so with my own magic, I flew right behind her. I even pushed myself a bit more to be even faster than she was, passing by her while giving her a taunting smile of my own.
However, she didn’t notice it as I passed by so fast, and she suddenly slowed down. This meant that now she really knew who was the better woman.
“Where are you—!?” she exclaimed and I quickly realized why.
In my distracted state, I crashed head-first with the still falling Earth Summon and nearly knocked myself out. Thankfully, I was a great Earth Mage, so crashing with it wasn’t a problem as I still softened some of the rocks that I hit.
But with this, the Earth Summon really didn't have anything else to do, since from this position, I could take hold of all of the rocks that composed it. I stretched my body like a star inside the body, and like my body, I stretched my magic in every direction, taking hold of the element that composed this giant Earth Summon.
The Mage behind it all was somewhere inside, trying his best to not allow it, but I was about to be an S rank mage, there was no way someone who couldn’t control or summon metals could overpower me, so after a few seconds, I was in control of the Summon.
I had no intention of controlling something so crude, so instead of allowing this thing to exist, I pulled in all of my limbs, getting into a ball position. The magic that I spread all over the Summon pulled as well, and the Earth Summon roared as its very existence crumbled under my will.
Rocks compacted; dirt fell to the ground; and the few trees and bushes that for some reason were all over the body, broke to pieces and fell to the ground. After a handful of seconds, his Earth Summon was no more, and I remained inside a large ball of rocks, dirt, and mud.
It wouldn’t be proper for a woman like myself—who was going to be Feng Liu’s woman—to be this dirty, so I extended my limbs once more, and everything around me exploded as well, revealing once more the forest, the wolf-woman some distance away, and the now weirdly clear skies.
“Argh,” a man grunted with annoyance. He had a rather rough voice, so I turned to look in the direction from where it came. “Yer a real bothersome one, aren’t ya.”
I almost immediately found a short man laying on the ground, surrounded by broken trees and destroyed rocks, and trying to stand back up. His arms were thick, and long with rough large hands as well. His torso was stocky and round, just like a barrel, and his legs—in contrast to his arms—were rather short but just as thick. He had a bald head that revealed a tanned skin; and one of the most outstanding features was a long, braided brown beard, covered with rocks and dust.
“A dwarf?” I asked, tilting my head to the side.
It was rare to see his kind anywhere. They were supposed to be on the side of the Leyfallan Empire back in their world, but after coming to Earth, they had mostly kept to themselves in forests and mountains, while at the same time only opening to technological innovations that were kept within their borders.
“That’s right,” he said, slapping his clothes to remove the dirt from them. “Just out ‘ere doin’ the Gods' work.”
“What? Are you like a mercenary or something like that?” I asked with my eyes and senses carefully inspecting him.
He shook his head, and suddenly stomped the ground, causing a pillar of rocks to rise up from under his feet to lift him higher than the treetops and be at around the same height as the one that I was flying at. I felt tempted to destroy that pillar just in case, but I decided to hear him out.
“Me people might keep to themselves, but that doesn’t mean that we have forgotten our way,” he said, now seriously looking at me with his light-brown eyes. “It’s by the grace of Rholdunn, Our God of Earth and Nature, that we yet live and thrive in this strange world!”
Saying that, he raised his arms up with his palms facing up. From all around him, the rocks, along with trees and bushes were lifted, and his Earth Summon was slowly being formed once more.
“Don’t just stand there!” The big breasted wolf-woman exclaimed. “Deal with him!”
I lagged in my response. This guy was talking about some God of Earth or whatever, so it might be a good opportunity to see what someone who followed such teachings could do, so I quietly watched the Earth Summon being formed once more but… There really wasn’t anything new I could learn from it.
The big breasted woman gathered magic of her own as the Summon was forming once more. I glanced over at her, and was surprised to see a black ball with a dark-purple aura being formed between her hands. There were rocks, leaves, and dirt lifting from all around and gathering around her spell. That was a Gravity Skill, one of the new spells developed in our world. It was still considered under the Earth Magic branch, but hardly anyone properly learned to use it or master it…
Which meant that this Wolf-Woman was an even bigger threat to me! I couldn’t allow her to get the better of me, much less defeat some zealous Earth Mage. Feng Liu might think that she’s the best Earth Mage! And with her looks… No! I can’t allow it. I won’t hold back anymore.
With my mind made up, I gathered as much magic as I could as well. I was really going to show them what the best Earth Mage here could do! This was a battlefield of magic… and love!
