With nothing to do in the morning Sylvia stayed in bed, pondering what to do with her new life. She was satisfied with how her previous one ended and the people who mocked her have died long ago. Should she still aim for the same goal? If not, what other goal could she pursue? Her life revolved around magic before. Perhaps this time she could try becoming a warrior?
She chuckled at the idea. She was an arcane lord, there was no way she could be a warrior, even more so now that she was restricted by a job-class. Her growth would always be focused on her magic stats. Any effort she puts in improving her physical abilities would be wasted. She’d be more successful as a magic knight. I wonder how I look with armor.
Imagining a small girl covered from head to toe in steel, she began giggling. When she noticed what she was doing however, her joyous mood was instantly replaced by dread.
She hastily looked around and sighed in relief when she found no one. Good, nobody saw her giggle… it would be bad for her image if someone did.
Covering her mouth as she coughed a few time, she sat up with a straight posture and closed her eyes. After a while, she began taking deep breaths while repeating the words “I’m Elemental Lord Matheus” in her mind. And then, the door burst open... making her squeal.
Her face paled at the shameful display but she managed to compose herself before the culprit could see her expression. Karim, you are so- who are you?
Instead of the young man that usually brings her food, a huge man entered her home. Karim was half a meter taller than her yet the guy was even bigger than him. He also has a muscular build, making Sylvia feel like an insignificant existence. Was she a dwarf or was the guy a giant?
“You’re already awake?! Good!” The bear-like man spoke with vigor as he approached, stopping only a foot away from her stupefied body.
When she finally became aware of what was happening the man was kneeling in front of her, his golden eyes meeting her pair of emerald head-on. “I can see it, your wish to-”

A foot connected with the man’s face before he could finish his sentence, sending his colossal body to a wall. “Stop it, third brother. You’re scaring her.”
Sylvia stared at the body buried under the collapsed part of her hut. Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, she turned to see a smiling Karim. “Please forgive my brother. He doesn’t mean any harm.”
Not me, apologize to your brother!

After covering the hole in her residence with earth, Sylvia turned to the two kneeling warriors. “Is there anything you wish to say?” And I thought Karim was a sensible guy.
“I’m sorry,” Karim was the first to apologize.
“I’m sorry,” the still unnamed guy followed suit, his cheerful expression replaced by a solemn one.
“I accept the apology. You’re both lucky I’m a generous person.” She was afraid of fighting them but of course she would never admit that.
Karim could crush her and the other guy was stronger than him.

“I came to see a potential comrade,” the large man beamed. “And I’m impressed. You’re not there yet but I can see potential in you. I’m sure of it. Together we can conquer the dungeon!”
“A dungeon you say?”
“Yeah, there’s a dungeon at the center of the island, and at the deepest level lies the core which powers the barrier that isolates us from the rest of the world. If we can destroy that-”
“How far is it from here?”
“It should be around six to seven days away by foot? Why, are you interested?”
“I can’t say I’m not,” she noticed Karim twitch. “Actually, I wish to go there right now. Can you lead the way?”
The large man’s face brightened even further, “sure! Let’s go!”
“No, you can’t-”
“By the way, what’s your name? I’m Milla, an ordinary magician.”
“I’m Koga.”
“Listen to me! You can’t go there right now! It’s dangerous!”
