Note: First, there's also a new chapter out right now, so read that first before checking this event out!

Greetings, Fellow Otherworlders!
Now is the hour — you can be a part of the story too!
WARNING for Royal Road readers. Very minor spoilers below!

You've been warned! So, read on!
----------------------------------------
With the Loom of Ill Fate's alpha test set to begin on the Feast of Travelers, a hundred alpha testers will be arriving on Aarde — and I need your help in bringing these hundred brave souls to life!
To have your character (player) become an alpha, you can do the following:
1. Comment on the current Royal Road chapter's comments: guaranteed 10 to 15 participants will be chosen.
2. Join the Discord server (LINK HERE) and comment on channel #advice_from_the_loom: guaranteed 20 participants will be chosen.
3. Become a Patron on Patreon (LINK HERE) and comment on the Patreon post (open to the public): guaranteed 30 participants will be chosen.
Patron-made characters will get priority and will play a much larger role in the story! Some of them may even join Bram's adventuring team or guild later on or possibly affect the plot in unique ways!
For the first round of this event, 60 characters will be created. All created characters will show up somewhere in the novel, with many of them arriving in Volume 2: F&%##s of R%#e&%i&%!
----------------------------------------
Guidelines for character creation: The following should be included in your comments.
Real name:
Player name:
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Age:
Gender:
Appearance: (Take note that their appearance in real life will also be their appearance in-game. Cosmetics still aren't an available feature during the alpha testing phase.)
Job in-game: (Currently Squire or Arcane Novice, but I want to hear your thoughts on what they can advance into!)
Brief backstory: (one-to-two-paragraph backstory about the character's life before becoming an alpha. You can add more if you want. I don't mind. They can be a paraplegic who can finally walk again in Aarde, a student struggling with social anxiety, a serial killer getting their fix in another world, or even an actress trying to be someone else for a few hours. Go wild!)
Status points (Optional): You can dictate your character's strengths and weaknesses. You can skip this part if you think it's too annoying to do. Just go past stat explanations!
----------------------------------------
STAT EXPLANATION:
The six base stats are Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Willpower.
A brief explanation of stats for readers who don't play RPGs much.
Let's say someone throws an apple...
Dexterity shows how easily you can catch the apple.
Strength shows how easily you can crush the apple.
Constitution indicates how you can eat a rotten apple without getting sick.
High Intelligence indicates that you know an apple is a fruit and not a vegetable.
High Wisdom tells you that just because an apple is a fruit doesn't mean it can go into a random fruit shake. Some fruits pair well with an apple and others don't so knowing what pairs best with an apple gives you the best combination flavor.
High Willpower helps you endure not eating an apple right before a meal and ruining your appetite. Apples are best after meals or during.
Also, the Strength score directly affects Stamina PointsS. So, Squire hopefuls should increase this to 12 or higher.
Intelligence score directly affects Magic Points. So, characters hoping to be Arcane Novices should have this above 12.
Finally, the Constitution score directly affects health points. High HP is good for survivability, and in Aarde, you need survivability.
The other stats also affect how I write a character's abilities and actions, so bear that in mind while thinking about how you want your character to act in the story or interact with the world of Aarde.
----------------------------------------
STAT ALLOCATION:
All stats start at 8.
You have 25 points to add to these stats.
You can also remove points from the original 8 of each stat, but please take note that anything below 8 is negative, and a 6 in any stat will give your character a debilitating weakness.
For example: a 6 in intelligence means your character can't read regardless of the Gift of Tongues. How you want to distribute the stat points is up to you though — so enjoy!
----------------------------------------
Okay, that's all you need to create a character who will appear in the story as a player of the Loom.
In the future, we'll do a second round of character creation event, as well as a loot box creation event. Hajime did mention his hate for Loot boxes, didn't he? Well, help him out when the time comes.
All participants will receive a shoutout in future chapters where their character first arrives, along with a shoutout after the event ends.
Lastly, you have my heartfelt gratitude for continuing to read the story, and I thank you in advance for participating in this event.
I look forward to bringing your characters to life with the written word.
To more TGTES and more fun in Aarde!
Warmest regards,
G.D. Cruz
P.S. To become shapers of a story that spans two worlds, 'tis quite an opportunity given to you, My Beloved... I hope you do well. - Rowan
P.P.S. I'm writing a song for when the Feast of Travelers begins. I'll be sure to mention your hardwork in it. - Bram
