chapter 4: The navigation rig

chapter 4: The navigation rig

Part 1

The trinity soldier that was detained last night was placed in a interrogation room and was being interrogated. Henry Kruger sat on the cold metal chair beneath him creaking as he shifted uncomfortably. The dim light above cast long shadows across his face, making him look gaunt, drained of the fire he once had as a proud lieutenant. He was no longer part of Trinity, not in spirit, at least. He'd crossed too many lines—lines he never thought he'd cross—and now he sat here, awaiting judgment from the very people he once called enemies.

Captain John, a seasoned Lakay officer, sat across from him, casually spinning a data drive between his fingers.

Capt John: So, your name's Henry Kruger, huh? Lieutenant of the Trinity Special Ops team, Phobos. And you've personally killed high-ranking members of the Lakay Corps. That about, right?

Henry's jaw clenched. He was a soldier—taught to follow orders, even when they felt wrong. But now, sitting here, everything felt like a blur of misplaced loyalty and carnage.

Henry: That is correct.

Captain John leaned back, eyes scanning Henry as though weighing whether the man in front of him was worth any more time.

Capt john: In my hand, I have a drive containing information of what's to come from this war and what your admiral is planning and also what he is collecting, right?

Henry nodded, his hands cuffed, but his eyes burning with resolve.

Henry: That's also right.

Capt john: Since you are such an honest prisoner, we are going to put you in a cell and not give you an ass beating, congrats.

With that, Captain John motioned to two guards, and they yanked Henry up, dragging him toward the cells. As the cold steel bars closed behind him, Henry sat in the dim room, the weight of his decisions pressing on him. His thoughts lingered on Phobos—on the comrades he had fought besides, and the devastation they had caused. Now he would be spending the rest of his time within the central communications base until the lakay corporations needs him again for more information.

Meanwhile, in the zeta team's dinning hall.

Laughter and clattering silverware filled the room. The soldiers sat around, trying to make light of the grim world outside, though a few faces remained somber.

Spec Alice: oh, Donald why don't you give me chicken anymore mate? Especially when you have so much fried chicken that can fill an entire bloody platoon??

Alice the Australian beauty with nice features and a tall stature, was giving her best pout to guilt trip Donald on giving her some chicken, her towering presence always seemed to cast a playful shadow over him, especially when she was trying to tease something out of him.

because when he use to give her food, she use to steal all of it and leave him with only one and that one piece of chicken was the same one which he was going to give her. which made Donald want to box her face off her head.

Lt Donald: (defensive) Nah! You are going to steal all the chicken that I have on my plate, then you are going to leave me looking like sprang head that hasn't seen a shower in ages.

Spec Alice: (feigning innocence) pretty pwease Donald?

She fluttered her lashes, her vibrant features glowing with mischievous intent. Donald gave her a blank stare, unaffected, his resolve like stone. Which then made Alice Whittaker stop her teasing in her tracks.

Spec Alice: Gezz, Donald you're a greedy muppet aren't ya, you little rascal.

Lt Donald: (unmoved) you can lick it if you want.

Spec Alice: (mock shocked) LICKK WHAT?! You are playing a dangerous game, Donald. Mark my words, I'll get ya one day.

Lt Donald: (shrugging) Good luck with that.

Said Donald in a calmed un caring tone. Private Richard, new to the group, watched their exchange with raised eyebrows.

Pvt Richard: Are you two always like this?

Spec Alice (with a wink): Nah, but Donald here needs a little fun in his life. He's always so serious, like he's got a broomstick permanently lodged up his backside.

Donald, still unfazed, calmly continued eating his chicken. Alice leaned in again, this time doing her best Heath Ledger Joker impression.

Spec Alice: (in a gravelly voice) Why so serious... HAHAHAH!!!

Her exaggerated laugh echoed in the dining hall, but Donald remained impassive, staring ahead like the joke hadn't even landed. Specialist Sarah turned to Captain James, curious about the lieutenant's ever-serious demeanour.

Spec Sarah: James why is it that Donald is so serious and strict. He never seems to lighten up?

Capt James (serious): It's personal, Sarah. Only a few of us know why, and it's not something we talk about. So, no bringing it up again, alright?

Spec Sarah: Alright James, I'm sorry, you have my word.

James nodded, satisfied with her response. The room briefly fell into a contemplative silence, but it didn't last long.

Capt James: Good, well everyone, the trinity marine that was detained last night spoke. We don't know what exactly will be told but we will know as soon as captain john comes back from the interrogation.

Corporal Wyatt, always cautious, looked skeptical.

Corporal Wyatt: Captain, do you really think the guy's being honest? Feels a bit too convenient.

Capt James: (thoughtfully) I think so, yes. From the way he spoke and the look in his eyes, I'd say he's telling the truth. He seemed ready to meet his executioners the moment he stepped into the compound. Like he'd already accepted his fate.

Specialist Hui-Jin, the tactical expert, remained unconvinced.

Spec Hui-Jin: (in mandarin) Still doesn't sit right with me. What if it's a trap? For all we know, he's got a tracker on him, leading Trinity right to us. Could be setting up an ambush.

Capt James: you might be right hui-jin but we just need to wait and see.

Spec Takeda: (in Japanese) The captain is right hui-jin this soldier might really be giving us the key to shut down the admiral's plan and get us out first biggest victory in years.

Spec hui-jin: (sighing and speaking in madarin) Yeah, your right brother and we have you and Richard if everything was to go south.

Suddenly the alarm rang out in zeta base alerting all of the members, the captains phone rang.

???: captain James you are to report in the main room for further information, please go to the meeting at sector 3 at the complex of the lakay corporations' facility of proud nations, this is news you have to hear.

Capt James: Understood.

The captain got off of his table and got geared up and he went out in a hurry.

Pvt Richard: looks like something serious

Spec Akemi: (in mandarin) seems like it by the way Richard nice to meet you, I am specialist akemi.

Sergeant jasmine: And my name is jasmine, nice to meet you as well private.

Pvt Richard: Ah yes nice to meet the both of you, this is our first meeting, huh?

Spec Akemi: (in mandarin) yup anyway Richard me and the sergeant here are going to go clean the dishes, if anything happens, please call or if the captain comes back, please do so as well, so we can hear the news.

Pvt Richard: sure thing.

Sergeant jasmine: You know something, Beatrice is right. You do look quite cute with that face of yours.

Pvt Richard: She didn't show you any picture of me sleeping right?

Spec akemi: (in mandarin) Hmm, who knows. Maybe.

Richard jaw dropped to the floor; Beatrice most definitely showed them that picture. Richard stood their a little red but a little happy as well and a mix of nervousness was also there within him. A few moments later while the members are all in the living room watching tv or using the zeta computers, they were alerted by the security call that had a voice message from the captain himself, it said.

Capt James: (through the speakers) everyone get geared up and strapped for a grand mission, we are dropping into hell itself, so please prepare yourselves further information will be stated when I get to you at the main platform take the elevators to sector 10.

Lt Donald: you heard the man, let's go double time.

Everyone went into their rooms and got their armours and weapons ready knives were available and grenades of different types we are talking about smoke, stun, solar, toxic gas and your regular grenade. They all headed to sector 10 in the elevators armoured to the teeth. It looks like they were going to war but in time, the truth will be told.

Capt James: Hello everyone from zeta, now that I see that all of you are armoured and ready, I will now tell you what's going to happen. The captured marine's drive had information on the location of a satellite command tower, this place is what keeps the satellite alive, without it the satellite would fail and it would not be usable why? Because the core is inside the tower. So, the plan is this we need to destroy that satellite command tower but we cannot do so because there is a barrier that keeping us from entering their and what do you know.

There is a base called the navigation rig its purpose is to shield the tower from danger, but once we bring that down. We can go and shut down the satellite tower and save lives from being blasted away into nothing, is that understood.

Everyone: YES SIR!

Capt James: we will head over to the navigation rig in a few so once again check your supplies and be ready, also have your WGHG (waist grappling hook gear) gear on so we can climb over those walls.

The team exchanged grim looks. They knew this was no ordinary mission—it was the kind of operation that could change the course of the war.

Part 2

They had gotten out of the state of Kentucky and had arrived to one of the worst states ever, you guessed it Ohio (yes, that's right). They had gone to Richland, a heavily modernized county. The streets were quiet, desolate even, as the Zeta, Delta, and Everlast teams gathered near the outskirts of the county. This was not a mission for the faint of heart. The Trinity forces had fortified their stronghold—the navigation rig—and it would take nothing short of a miracle to bring it down.

The rig loomed ahead; a menacing structure surrounded by fortified defenses. The stakes were clear: disable the rig, and the satellite command tower would fall.

Capt Luke, leader of Delta Team, stood before the assembled marines, his voice strong but measured as he outlined the mission.

Capt Luke: Alright, listen up! We've got three teams—Delta, Zeta, and Everlast. Our objective is simple: breach the rig, take out the defences, and clear the way for the main assault. We'll create holes in three sides of the structure and send in the first wave. Once inside, we neutralize any opposition, disable their tech, and call for the second wave. This rig powers the satellite command tower. Without it, that satellite is toast. We need to hit fast and hard. Understood?

The marines responded in unison, their voices filled with anticipation and grim resolve.

Everyone: AYE SIR!

The transport rumbled as it moved toward the mission site, and Captain James, leader of Zeta Team, approached his squad, his expression reflecting the weight of the mission.

Capt James: Alright Richard, you will go with sergeant brain, private kash and corporal Wyatt. Stick together, stay sharp, and don't get reckless. We have no idea what kind of numbers or surprises they've got waiting for us. Eyes open, alright?

Richard gave a nod, his jaw set with resolve.

Pvt Richard: I got it sir and best to luck to you and the rest.

He turned to meet Sergeant Brian Blinker and Private Kash Kimble from Delta Team. Brian was a towering presence, his eyes sharp with experience, while Kash, the rookie, radiated nervous energy.

Sergeant brain: (grinning) wassup bro? Name's Brian Blinker, and this rookie here is Kash Kimble. I am the sergeant of delta team and I mean business when fighting trinity scum. You better keep up.

Pvt kash: (wide-eyed) Yeah, and aren't you the one who punched that giant Trinity robot in the face? Word around the base is you captured one of their supers with brown powers too. Pretty sick, having that gauntlet. No lie.

Richard smirked, though his mind remained on the task at hand.

Pvt Richard: Yeah, I gave that guy, this move which I call the right hand of judgment and set him up really good. But we've got bigger fish to fry today.

Corporal Wyatt, a grizzled veteran, approached, a familiar smirk on his lips as he clapped Brian on the shoulder.

Corporal Wyatt: Wassup, Brian? Been too long, man.

Sergeant Brian: (laughing) Hell yeah, Wyatt! It's been, what, three years since our last mission together?

Corporal Wyatt: Too damn long. Let's end this fucking tower today.

They shared a quick nod, understanding the weight of what lay ahead. No more words were needed. The marines began to grapple up the rig, the dark structure looming above them like a sentinel of destruction. They moved with practiced precision, their movements fluid as they ascended the right corner of the base. With a few quick cuts, they opened a hole in the side and climbed inside.

The armory on the second floor was cold and sterile, filled with the hum of machinery. Every footstep seemed to echo too loudly in the otherwise silent corridors. Tension was thick, but the marines were laser-focused on their objective.

Corporal Wyatt: (in a low voice) Listen up, guys. See that window over there? We're going to climb it and take out the guard beside the security room. Once inside, we shut down the security protocols. The second those doors open, all hell is going to break loose. So before we go in, let's have a plan to get the hell out of here as soon as possible.

He paused, eyes scanning the area.

Corporal Wyatt: Oh, and yeah, heads up—the captains are currently hiding in the vents. We don't want any surprises.

Sergeant Brian: "Alright, see that platform over there? We can grapple up there and avoid most of the gunfire once the alarms go off."

Pvt Kash: Sounds like a plan.

Pvt Richard: Let's get it done.

The four marines moved with silent precision, climbing through the window and eliminating the guard with a quick, efficient strike. They closed it back like if nothing happened. The space was dimly lit, and for a moment, everything was eerily calm—until the door creaked open. A guard and a lab tech entered, oblivious to the marines' presence. They began discussing something quietly, probably reviewing the admiral's plans. Then, without warning, Brian sprang into action. He drove his knife into the guard's throat, and before anyone could react, he knocked out the lab tech with a brutal blow. The "tech" was a woman.

Corporal Wyatt: (in a furious whisper) Seriously, Brian? You couldn't just choke her out? What the hell, man?!

Pvt Kash: (eyes wide) No way you just did that, Sergeant! Are you out of your mind?

Pvt Richard: (disbelieving) It's a woman, man!

Sergeant Brian: (hissing) Oh, shut up! She's asleep now, isn't she? Let's just focus.

Pvt Richard: alright let's do this.

Richard, biting back another comment, turned his attention to the security system. His fingers danced across the keys as he hacked in. In moments, the system was disabled. A series of clicks echoed through the room as the locks disengaged and the closed doors slid open. The time for subtlety was over.

Pvt Richard: Alright, doors are down. Let's move.

They jumped into the vents and climbed their way to the upper platform. They had done the task as silent as they could and just before they could tell the others that it was their time to shine, a soldier wearing black and purple shoot private kash in the hand

Pvt Kash: DA FUCK!

His yell was loud and all the guards that were at the bottom platform looked up to see the four of them, and the black suited marine went running after them and he was throwing black orbs at them, this marine wasn't any type of normal marine he had powers and he looked incredibly dangerous to face on. His suit looked like a captain one, it had the three-trinity logos on it and a black cape just like some evil nineteen century villain.

He yelled

Captain ???: Stop right there you lakay scum. I will destroy the four of you within my voids, if you don't stop running like rat's trapped within a claustrophobic box. Surrender and we will take all of you for interrogation and not have to turn you inside out.

Sergeant Brian: FUCK YOU!!

As if on cue, the marines sounded the signal. Explosions rocked the rig, sending smoke and debris flying as hell descended upon the navigation base. Alarms blared, and gunfire erupted from every corner. The battle had begun.

Pvt Richard: (shouting over the noise) This guy's no joke! He's got powers!

The Captain kept hurling dark orbs of crackling energy toward them, each one exploding on impact, sending shockwaves through the platforms and crushing whatever was sucked within. The marines ducked and weaved, grappling up and down to avoid the blasts, but the captain was relentless, his void powers giving him the upper hand.

Corporal Wyatt: (panting) We've got to outmaneuver him! Get to higher ground—move!

They grappled to a higher platform, bullets and energy blasts whizzing by. The captain's laughter echoed through the chaos, his void orbs slicing through metal like butter.

Sergeant Brian: We can't keep running! We've got to take this bastard down!

Pvt Kash: (wincing from his wound) We can't beat him head-on... Not like this.

Part 3

The explosion rocked the base, its shockwaves reverberating through the entire structure. Unranked and ranked marines from Zeta, Delta, and Everlast teams stormed the rig, their weapons spitting bullets as chaos ensued. The air was thick with the smell of burning metal, the crackling of gunfire, and the shouts of orders as the marines ascended the platforms, engaging Trinity's soldiers head-on. Havoc had arrived.

Richard, crouched behind a crate, quickly analyzed the situation as the enemy forces surged. He needed to think fast. He activated the gauntlet on his right hand, forming a shimmering two-sided shield that enveloped his weapon. This wasn't just any shield—it was designed to amplify bullets passing through it. The rounds fired from his pistol now moved faster, hit harder, and tore through the Trinity marines like hot knives through butter. Limbs and armor shattered as his shots turned soldiers into pieces of broken flesh and metal.

Sergeant Brian: (yelling admits the chaos) THESE BITCHES REALLY ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES! HYAHHHHHHHH!!!

The 28-year-old sergeant let out a primal yell, his eyes blazing with bloodlust as he launched himself into the fray. Brian moved like a madman, firing at the enemy with ruthless efficiency before slashing their throats with his oversized combat military grade knife. Blood sprayed across the platform, and for a moment, it seemed like nothing could stop him—until a Trinity marine blindsided him with a vicious punch, tackling him to the ground.

The sergeant's lips twisted into a sadistic grin as he looked up at the marine pinning him down.

Sergeant Brian: like to play rough huh. So do I...

With a surge of strength that defied his human limits, Brian grabbed the marine's wrists and snapped them with a sickening crack. The Trinity soldier screamed in agony, but Brian wasn't finished. He slapped a sticky grenade onto the marine's chest and grappled away just in time.

Sergeant Brian: (laughing maniacally as the marine exploded) HAHAH! YOU LIKE ME NOW, DON'T YA? NOT THAT IT MATTERS, SINCE Y'ALL ARE RIBS AND BONE FROM HERE AND OUT!

Meanwhile, Richard, keeping his focus on the battlefield, was picking off enemy marines with pinpoint accuracy using only his pistol. His gauntlet-enhanced shots were tearing through soldiers like paper. But his moment of triumph was cut short when a shadow loomed over him. Richard barely had time to register the blur of black and purple armor before he felt a hard left hook slam into his face, sending him crashing into the next room.

Pvt. Richard: (groaning in pain) Ah... fuck...

The figure stepped forward, his presence dominating the room. This wasn't just any soldier. His armor was sleek, adorned with Trinity insignias, and his black cape flowed behind him, giving him the aura of a predator toying with its prey.

Capt ???: (voice dripping with arrogance) So, you're the one who's been causing all this trouble. I expected more from you, Lakay filth.

Richard wiped the blood from his lip and slowly stood, wincing from the impact.

Pvt Richard: You... You're the captain of the Trinity, huh? One of the big ones?

The captain chuckled, a sinister smile spreading across his face.

Captain ???: Yes, young man, and also it looks like you survived my punch, that would usually kill other people in an instant. Your no ordinary lakay germ, but one that's almost exactly like me but still a germ. As for me I'm the disinfectant of these lakay germs and one that surpasses your attributes tenfold.

The captain's eyes gleamed as he stepped forward, his gaze fixed on Richard like a predator sizing up its next meal.

Capt ???: I like that disbelief on your face and I'm pretty sure you were the one to defeat our tech inventor right, fascinating.

Richard knew he was in trouble. This guy was leagues beyond the regular soldiers and those who he had faced before. But he wasn't about to back down. He clenched his fists, and his body shifted into a Muay Thai stance. With a burst of speed, Richard charged at the captain, aiming a series of rapid strikes toward his head. But the captain swatted him aside like a fly, backhanding him with enough force to send Richard crashing to the first floor below.

Richard: (gasping for air) augh, this dude he really is something...

The captain came down with an incredibly speed landing an upper cut on Richard's face and then blasted him with his black beam called void tear because he actually has the power to open voids but he doesn't want to kill Richard because he had grand expectations of him.

Richard returned with an upward uppercut dash and then he gave him the five-piece special combo attack and a final blow to his side, then blasted the captain to other side of the base. He now did a long front dash to reach to the other side where then the captain clashed with once him again and they were going crazy, he kicked the captain's leg so hard that it broke off the shin armour that was on his leg and then Richard gave him his favourite attack; "super rapid punches of order" which he called them. He had the captain bleeding but the captain just stood there smiling at the grand power and will that the young man has.

Captain ???: Well Richard, you are a good fighter but I was just playing with you. Now imma go a little bit more serious and take up a notch.

The captain's aura darkened as black energy crackled around him.

Captain ???: VOID UNLEASH 50% BREAKER

The energy surged, and the captain's body seemed to shimmer with raw power. He walked toward Richard with a smug grin, his eyes alight with malice. Without warning, the captain lunged, slamming his head into Richard's face with a bone-shattering headbutt that left Richard dazed, blood dripping from a fresh gash. Richard staggered, his vision blurring. The captain wasn't just a brawler—his strikes had a terrifying precision. Richard narrowly dodged the captain's black blade, the edges of which tore open small voids in the air. Every strike that missed seemed to distort reality, as if those voids would crush anything they touched.

Pvt. Richard: (thinking) I can't get hit by that... If I do, I'm done for...

Summoning every ounce of willpower, Richard leaped upward, coming down with an intense feint. The captain fell for it, and in the next second, Richard drove a punch into his stomach with all his strength. The captain gasped, bile rising in his throat as he staggered back. But the captain quickly regained his composure, grabbing Richard's right arm and slamming him into the ground with enough force to crack the floor.

The captain's fists rained down, one after the other, each punch more devastating than the last. Richard's armor was crumbling under the pressure, but still, he held on. He avoided the captain's blade just in time—the weapon sparked as it collided with Richard's gauntlet, but to the captain's surprise, the gauntlet didn't break or get cut in half, but then his black matter sword exploded and sent them a little far away from each other.

Captain ???: What the—?

In a desperate move, the captain drop-kicked Richard, sending several of his teeth flying. But Richard wasn't out yet. He retaliated with a spinning fist that sliced across the captain's face, dazing him. Richard seized the moment, delivering a series of rapid punches that finally seemed to put the captain on the defensive. Blood flew from the captain's nose, his expression twisting in anger.

But just when Richard thought he might have the upper hand, the captain recovered, delivering a brutal punch to Richard's face that sent him crashing to the floor. Richard's blue aura flickered as his energy waned, his gauntlets power beginning to fade. As the captain loomed over Richard, preparing for the final blow, a blazing fireball suddenly shot across the room, slamming into the captain and sending him careening into a row of fuel canisters. A familiar voice rang out, sharp and authoritative.

Spec Takeda: (yelling) "FLAMING FLYING KICK!"

The captain roared in pain as Specialist Takeda's fiery kick landed with precision, igniting the fuel canisters and sending a blast of heat across the room. Takeda landed beside Richard, his eyes burning with intensity.

Spec takeda: (in Japanese) Are you alright Richard? You don't look, so good man...

Pvt Richard: (struggling to his feet) Takeda... Watch out for his void powers. That blade—one hit, and it'll crush you inside a void and I'm pretty sure that's black matter. Out flesh for sure can be easily melted with that.

Takeda nodded, his expression grim.

Spec Takeda: (in Japanese) Richard, it's up to me and you right here, and now to beat this dude. I'll give you some of my Ki so you can regain your composure, then we can fight this man together. If I fight him alone, he might kill me but even so, that way is an honourable death for me. (I can totally beat him alone; I just want you to have a moment with me as power wielders.)

The captain yelled in anger and spoke

Captain ???: MY NAME IS BULLET PIECE! AND I WILL DESTROY THE BOTH OF YOU WITHIN MY VOIDS! ILL TAKE YOUR HEADS TO THE ADMIRAL AND GET PROMOTED AFTER THIS IS DONE! CHILD OF THE SUN! PREPARE YOURSELF!

Part 4

The chaos that Richard and the unknown captain had created was spreading across the entire base. Explosions rocked the walls, and gunfire echoed in every corner, leaving the structure partially destroyed. Amidst the devastation, Captain James knew what had to be done—he had to disable the control room's security systems. His mind was sharp, his nerves steady as he swung himself through the building's crumbling remains toward the main control switch that kept the Lakay forces from breaching the command tower.

As James approached the main room, ready to flip the switch, he was stopped dead in his tracks. Standing before him was a man he hadn't seen in years: Alexander Bolkov, an old comrade-in-arms.

Officer Alexander: Hello James been a while, I see you want to hit that switch. I can't let you do that, old friend.

Alexander's voice was calm, yet it carried a weight of cold determination. His eyes gleamed with a sense of duty, even if it meant facing an old friend on opposite sides of a battlefield.

Capt James: (sighing) Alexander... You just had to be here huh.

James drew his sword, the steel gleaming under the flickering lights of the damaged building. The air was tense with memories of their shared past, but duty outweighed nostalgia now. They were no longer comrades. Now, they were enemies.

Officer alexander: yes, it's very unfortunate, so before we waste any more time, let's settle this.

Capt James: sure!

Without another word, their blades met in a furious clash. Sparks flew as steel collided with steel, the force of each blow sending ripples of pressure through the air. The two were evenly matched, each attack countered with perfect precision. They moved like seasoned warriors, a deadly dance of swordplay and footwork. Elbows struck ribs, knees collided with torsos, each of them mixing melee attacks into their fluid sword fight.

Then, in a sudden burst of speed, they drew their Type 900 pistols and fired at one another mid-swing. The bullets ricocheted off their swords or were dodged with almost superhuman reflexes, their movements blurring as they weaved between gunfire and sword strikes.

Alexander closed the distance, their faces inches apart as their swords locked again.

Officer Alexander: You've improved, James. But I've still got some tricks up my sleeve.

Alexander spun, breaking the sword lock and slashing at James' legs. James dodged, leaping back, but Alexander followed with a swift roundhouse kick to James' midsection, sending him crashing into a nearby pillar.

Gasping for breath, James quickly recovered, sweeping his leg under Alexander's feet, sending him tumbling backward. James seized the opportunity and kicked Alexander's sword from his hand, then jumped into the air and delivered a devastating stomp to his chest. Alexander groaned, winded from the impact.

As Alexander lay on the ground, struggling to get back up, James knew what he had to do. He couldn't kill his old friend, not like this. He pressed his boot against Alexander's chest, pinning him down. Then a swift left hook came after knocking out the old comrade.

Capt James: Sleep alexander, I won't kill you nor anytime in the future. I'm sorry we had to come to these terms now.

James stepped away, leaving Alexander unconscious. He turned to the control panel and hit the switch, deactivating the barrier that was keeping the Lakay troops from entering the command tower. With the barrier down, the Lakay forces could now storm the tower and take control of the situation.

Meanwhile, in another part of the base, Lieutenant Donald was in the thick of a brutal firefight alongside Alice, Jasmine, and Akemi. They were pinned down, outnumbered by the relentless marines pouring in from every direction. Specialist Sarah, Chizuru, and Tatsumaki were holding their ground on the floor above, while Corporal Wyatt, Specialist Nikolas, and Sergeant Brian provided cover fire from behind rubble. Private Kash was busy constructing an EMP grenade that would be their only chance at breaking free from the encirclement.

Beatrice was currently holding off the marines coming from the bottom floors alongside the other marines from the other teams that were unranked teams.

Lt Donald: (yelling over gunfire) Damn it, this is bad! We need to find a way out of here. There's too many of them, and we can't grapple away with all these snipers picking us off!

The lieutenant thought of something while shooting, He glanced at the EMP grenade in Kash's hands and an idea sparked in his mind. A risky plan, but one that could work.

Lt Donald: (in his head) I'm such a genius.

He shot down two jetpack marines in quick succession, their bodies crashing to the ground with heavy thuds. Grappling up to Pvt. Kash, Donald grabbed the EMP grenade from his hand and inserted a small chip from his armor into the grenade, boosting its radius.

Lt Donald: Everyone get ready! Once I throw this, jump on the slanted platform, and we'll slide out of here!

He hurled the grenade into the air, activating the accelerant. The EMP detonated with a loud BOOM, releasing a green surge of energy that shorted out every electronic device within range. Jets, targeting systems, even the marines' communication devices were all disabled.

Lt Donald: Move, now!

He slid down the slanted platform, followed by the others. The EMP's effect was temporary, lasting only about a minute and a half before systems would come back online. They had to act fast.

Donald led the charge, his customized Desert Eagles blazing in his hands, their sleek white, gold, and red design glinting as he shot down any royal guards standing in their way. The weapons were once owned by his old mentor, a memento of the past that fuelled his resolve.

The group made it outside, grappling to the lower level, only to find Captain James, Luke, and Butcher locked in a brutal battle with a platoon of marines. The Trinity had the high ground, firing down on the Lakay soldiers, who were being mowed down left and right. The trinity had an advantage because they had the high ground.

Lt Donald: Everyone, join the fight! We need to take that high ground!

The women—Alice, Jasmine, and Akemi—joined the fray, their gunfire adding to the chaos. Sergeant Brian and Pvt. Kash arrived moments later, followed by Specialist Nikolas and Corporal Wyatt. The firefight intensified, with the Lakay forces pressing hard to gain the upper hand.

Sergeant Thomas was in the first floor with Beatrice they were in the thick of it, reinforcements were pouring in faster than they could handle. The situation was dire, they had already killed a lot of marines that were flying with their jetpacks and ground troops as well.

Sergeant Thomas: Beatrice, this is bad! We're getting overrun!

Spec Beatrice: I know sergeant, I think I have an idea! You see that body of that dead lieutenant from team Everlast, it looks like he has an emp grenade. If I can modify it, we might stand a chance!

Sergeant Thomas: Understood! Cover me!

He grappled to the right side of the base, weaving through the bullets. A shot rang out, and felt a sharp pain. He'd been hit, but with his outstanding determination. Thomas kept going pushing himself forward until he reached the fallen lieutenant that was named Jason jones, he took the grenade and left a remark to the dead marine,

Sergeant Thomas: (to the body) You were a hell of a marine Jason, I will never forget you lad. You or our time together as comrades. May you rest in peace and hopefully now, you can go see your wife once again.

He grappled away from the area and reached to the center again shooting back at the soldiers that had marksman rifles, this time he made it back safe, bleeding from the leg but safe.

Sergeant Thomas: Here you go Beatrice, do what you got do now, I'll hold them off as long as I can!

Beatrice grabbed the emp grenade and she placed a navigation and radius accelerant inside of it were she controlled it and made the radius a lot larger, now it was ready.

Spec Beatrice: Sargeant, ITS READY!

Sergeant Thomas: DO IT!

Beatrice threw the modified EMP at the marines perched above them. The grenade detonated, sending a surge of energy that knocked out their systems and destroyed the platform they were standing on. The marines fell to the ground with a series of heavy thuds, and the Lakay troops quickly finished them off.

Sergeant Thomas: Let's move!

With the immediate threat neutralized, Thomas and Beatrice grappled away to regroup with the others. Giving them a fighting and survival chance.

Part 5

Richard and Takeda stood side by side, facing Captain Bullet, their bodies bruised and worn from their previous encounters. The unknown captain was no ordinary foe. His laugh echoed through the base as he dodged their first joint assault with effortless precision, taunting them for being out of sync.

Captain Bullet: (laughing) You two fight like you've never worked together a day in your lives! Is this what you've got

Before they could respond, Bullet was on the move, sending a devastating punch to Richard's jaw, followed by a spinning kick to Takeda's chest that hurled him across the base. Takeda collided with a metal structure, the impact shaking the entire platform.

Takeda groaned as he stood back up, wiping the blood from his mouth. An EMP explosion echoed in the distance, causing brief chaos among the marines stationed around the base. Despite the disruption, Richard and Takeda locked eyes—this fight wasn't over. They rushed the captain again, but he was ready. Richard threw a left question mark kick that grazed Bullet's shoulder, while the captain retaliated with a vicious punch, slicing Richard's cheek open.

Richard retaliated with an overhand left, his fist glowing faintly with the energy he had left. The punch landed squarely on Bullet's jaw, staggering him momentarily. It was enough of an opening for Takeda to leap back into the fray.

Takeda: (yelling in Japanese) FLYING FLAME KICK!

With a fiery streak trailing behind him, Takeda's kick connected with Bullet's torso, followed by a series of rapid bicycle kicks engulfed in flames. His swords, legendary and god-forged, gleamed with heat as he slashed downward, cutting into the captain's right shoulder. The smell of burning flesh filled the air.

Spec takeda: (in Japanese) EAT THAT BITCH!!

But Captain Bullet wasn't going down easily. His eyes glinted with rage, his fists coated in the strange, swirling void energy that was his trademark. With each melee strike, Bullet's fists hit Takeda like a freight train—powerful, yet the sensation was odd, as if his skin was both being squashed and torn apart. Takeda blocked some, but others slipped through his defenses, bruising and cutting him in painful, unexplainable ways.

Takeda needed an opening, and fast. With a sharp breath, he swung one of his swords in a circular motion above his head.

Spec takeda: (in Japanese) SUN DECOY!

As he closed his fist, the circle of flame in the air suddenly flared, shining as brightly as the sun. Captain Bullet grunted, temporarily blinded by the blazing light. Richard seized the moment, his body surging forward with newfound speed. His intention was clear—this strike had to count.

Richard slammed into Bullet's abdomen with a bone-crushing punch, the impact causing the captain to cough up blood. Without hesitation, Richard followed with a brutal knee to Bullet's face, shattering his nose. As the captain staggered back, Richard swept his legs out from under him and grabbed one of his arms, hoisting him into the air before slamming him into the ground with tremendous force.

Takeda stood back, watching the relentless assault with a sense of urgency. He wiped the sweat from his brow, knowing that their current power levels weren't enough to finish the job. Takeda was just playing around anyway.

Spec Takeda: (panting and speaking in Japanese) Richard we need to join our powers together! It's the only way to end this.

Before they could coordinate, Captain Bullet rose again, a sinister grin on his bloodied face. His fists crackled with void energy, and without warning, he unleashed his deadliest technique. Captain Bullet: VOID TEAR FISTS X50!

The air distorted as a barrage of punches, infused with the void energy, struck both Richard and Takeda. The sheer force of the attack shredded their armor and left their bodies broken and bloodied. There was no blocking or dodging this—it was raw power, unleashed at full force.

Bullet laughed maniacally as he lifted Takeda by his hair.

Captain bullet: you were never no child of the sun, be grateful I captain bullet piece, a former hero. Shall be the one to put out your pathetic attempt at wielding that power.

With a single brutal punch to Takeda's gut, he sent him crashing into a distant room, blood spraying from his mouth. Meanwhile, Richard struggled to stand, his body trembling from the aftershocks of the void energy. But his resolve hadn't wavered. Richard got up and laced the captain with his boxing techniques his power wasn't as big a before but it at least was doing something, he sweeped Richard and grabbed his leg and started to slam him left and right. Richard escaped the grip of the captain but his void tear over his fist was crushing his leg but he dashed upwards and got out of it, now he began to power up the little energy which he had left brewing deep within his soul. he thought to himself

Pvt Richard: (in his mind) This is it my final shot at beating this guy. I'll never stand a chance against the Admiral. I need more power!

Summoning the strength buried deep within, Richard let out a deafening scream as his aura flared to life. His gauntlet surged with energy, pushing his power level from 40% to 60%. The base lit up with a bright blue glow, a visual testament to his newfound strength.

Captain bullet: (in his mind, eyes wide opened in real time) What... What the fuck is this?! His power just increased, it matches mines maybe even further, AGH...

The captain was hit by Richard in the face so hard his eye almost came out, he was wobbled, he then gave the captain a 7-blow combination nonstop attack to his noggin, the captain holding dear to his conscious state began to attack back but his attacks weren't like before Richard with determination in his eyes sent the voids flying to other sides of the base he then dashed forward and slapped bullet in the face breaking his jaw.

Captain bullet: ah -- *blood falling out of his mouth*

His face showed anger, the captain gave Richard the same devastating attack void tear fists x50 Richard this time had made a dome around himself blocking the pressure of the voids, the dome was at the point of shattering but this made Richard smug hard. Then he jumped over the captain hitting him with a devastating flying kick of his own injuring the back of the captain badly. Then takeda from the back slashed the back of the captain burning his back and cutting through his busted-up armour, takeda hit him with an attack named windmill flaming fists his armour that were barely holding on still, completely melted away and it burnt his skin off of his chest.

Takeda went alongside Richard and they nodded to each other signifying that this is the end of the captain. Takeda ran first and was moving side to side incredibly fast; he also was shooting fire ki orbs at him to keep him distracted, the captain that couldn't speak just looked at him making weird noises and then he charged up his power but then Takeda side kicked him and moved backwards and yelled.

Spec Takeda: FLAMING DRAGON DOUBLE SWORD STRIKE!

Takeda had just cut of one of captain bullets arm off and then he screamed in pain.

Spec takeda: RICHARD NOW!!

Behind him was Richard with his right hand in the air powered up to the max.

Pvt Richard: DAWN OF JUDGMENT! SIXTY PERCENT POWER!

With a final, devastating punch to Bullet's stomach, Richard unleashed a force so immense that the captain's body buckled under the pressure. The impact tore muscles and ruptured organs, sending shockwaves that obliterated the walls behind them. Captain Bullet fell to his knees, blood gushing from his mouth, his body left in complete paralysis.

The explosion left a massive hole in the base, an escape route for the remaining Lakay forces.

Spec Nikolas: (pointing to the breach) captain! There's a way out! Let's go before they regroup!

Captain James nodded, rallying his troops.

Captain James: Good idea! lets move everyone it looks like the private just saved us all once again.

With the last of their strength, the team grappled through the hole, escaping the collapsing base.

Takeda, severely injured but still moving, grabbed Richard's exhausted and beat up body and he blew a hole from their side and as he was about to grapple away, an unknow person shot a chained blade at them. Richard caught a glimpse of a man wearing a cloak underneath his armour, around him was a thick and dark fog of some kind then another one blade came out of nowhere and hit takeda cutting his left hand.

Spec takeda: (yelling in Japanese) Don't got time for you!

The unknow figure chased them while he had captain bullet on his shoulders as he quickly began to reach takeda, Takeda quickly turned around and faced the man wearing the cloak. He slashed a piece of his armour off but received a left high kick to his temple stunning him then to gage distance he unleashed his sun attack stopping the black fog thing from grabbing Takeda.

Richard jumped off the back of Takeda and punched the man with the cloak so hard he sent him down into the trees but Richard was hit by his dark fog power which came as a straight line and it left a hole into his right shoulder due to the speed and force of it colliding with his shoulder. Takeda knew this was enough and charged up his attack named sun beam 600 degrees and blasted it into the core of the base. whereas the moment it hit the reactor, it exploded like if the world was ending. He grappled to the hillside were all the teams were standing

???: (yelled) Until we meet again, child of the sun. we shall end this legendary battle someday.

Takeda looked in the distance and knew who that man was but he didn't want to say much about him, he just looked the other way and talked to the captains.

Spec Takeda: (smirking) well, that was a job that could have gone smoother. Heh

Capt Luke: James the cavalierly has arrived. Get your brave soldiers to go get into the fast travel helicopters. Especially that private of yours—he just took down one of the most dangerous marines Trinity has to offer and one of the most wanted ones at that.

Capt James: Alright everyone let's go, the wounded are being taken care of, so let's get out of here and heal our own wounds.

ELSE WHERE:

Capt benedict: Admiral, we have just been informed that we have lost contact with the navigation rig, who do you think might have done this?

The admiral didn't respond but the cup of pineapple juice he was drinking shattered, Captain Benedict stood at attention as Admiral Kenneth's cup shattered in his hand. The admiral's eyes were cold, his frustration barely contained.

Admiral Kenneth: benedict, please send 5 platoons of marines to the Seattleite command tower to be guarded they are planning to go shut it down. if the problem isn't dealt with, I myself will go and end this pointless effort at destroying our only weapon to dig up areas safely. General luscious isn't too happy about the navigation rig being destroyed you know.

Capt benedict: And rightfully so but I think only yourself should go to stop it instead, rather than five platoons of marines.

Admiral Kenneth: (tired and angry) I'm busy filling in paper work because of the same damn disaster that just has happened at the navigation rig and I must finish soon. If I must arrive I will, is that understood!

Captain benedict a bit frightened just nodded and went to go do what he was told.

The admiral stood by his office window to see marines getting prepared to go to the satellite command tower. He said to himself while looking at the window.

Admiral Kenneth: private of team zeta, if I do see you there, let this be your greatest moment of your life. Because now I'm incredibly pissed off with all that has happened, so you better be at your strongest.

After part five

Richard had fallen unconscious again, this time though he was in a dream of some sort. In Richard's dream, the familiar, icy tone of his father's voice cut through the air like a knife. They stood in a vast, golden field under a clear sky, but despite the beautiful scenery, Richard felt a sense of isolation—a reflection of his upbringing. His father, a broad-shouldered, stern but handsome looking man with deep creases of disappointment etched into his face, loomed over him, holding a rifle in one hand.

Richard was no older than eight, clutching a smaller version of the same rifle in his trembling hands. His father had taken him out for "training," but it felt more like a trial—a test Richard knew he was destined to fail. His father always held him in contempt, far more impressed by his older sister, who had already excelled in everything their father valued: precision, intelligence and better in everything that he can do or at least promising enough.

Father: Breathe, dammit!

his father barked; his patience already thin.

Father: You can't even hold the weapon right. Steady your hand. You're not going to shoot straight with your hands shaking like that!

Richard tried to comply; his young hands slick with sweat. He pulled the rifle to his shoulder, breathing in shallow gasps as he aimed down the barrel. He felt his father's piercing gaze burn into him, making him even more nervous. Richard's heart raced as he squeezed the trigger, only for the shot to go wide and hit the dirt several meters from the target.

The sound of the shot rang through the air, but it was drowned out by his father's immediate, furious response.

Father: YOU TRULY ARE A PAPHETIC CHILD. YOU ARENT GOOD FOR SHIT! YOU FAIL AS MY SON!

Richard's heart sank as the words hit him with the force of a physical blow. His vision blurred with unshed tears, but he wouldn't cry. He had learned early on that crying only made things worse. His father's hands clenched into fists as he paced around the boy, looking at him with the same cold disdain that had haunted Richard for years.

Father: You can't even hit a simple target! What are you going to be when you grow up, huh? A failure, that's what! You're a disgrace to this family, nothing but a worm crawling around, doing nothing but embarrassing me and our family name.

Richard stood there, frozen, unable to speak or defend himself. A knot formed in his throat, and his chest felt tight. No matter how hard he tried, he was never enough in his father's eyes. The weight of his father's words crushed any confidence he had left, leaving only doubt and self-loathing in its place.

I'm sorry, father...

Richard finally whispered, but his father only sneered in response.

Father: Sorry? Sorry doesn't fix anything. Sorry doesn't make you less useless! You'll never be like your sister, never. She's mentally strong, disciplined and far more intelligent and much more promising than you. She even hit that same shot at this same age that you have!

The memory of his father's harsh treatment seared itself into his mind, a constant reminder of how small and weak he had always felt. No matter how much older and stronger he had become, the shadow of those moments stayed with him, festering in the deepest parts of his soul. Even as the time went Richard always felt like nothing, there was just nothing special about him. Just like his father said "you aren't good for shit" is exactly how Richard still feels like in this day and age.

As Richard stood in the dream, facing his younger self and the figure of his father, he suddenly heard a voice echoing in the distance—faint but familiar. The grown Richard tried to focus on the voice, but the world around him seemed to shift, pulling him deeper into the dream. His father's face blurred, and the landscape around him began to fade. The weight of his past, of his failures, pressed harder against his chest, threatening to suffocate him.

Suddenly, the scene around him shattered like glass, and Richard was left standing alone in a void. The voice he had heard earlier grew clearer, but before he could make sense of it, the dream dissipated, pulling him back to the present moment—a reminder of the battle he had just survived and the weight of his own inner demons.

Despite the victory against Captain Bullet, Richard was still fighting the ghosts of his past.

"Things are said and are set in motion but in time the future shall be decided from the actions and intentions showed by does who wish to be great. Alas, who are we not to be worth something in this wonderful and vast world."
