Chapter 3: Selection

Chapter 3: Selection

Noah had another panel coming in front of him which stated all the class whom he could choose from, what really caught his interest was a text line on top of the panel saying: “ Classes are nothing more than a set up of some skills that you will start with. Like a path to follow where everything else is yours to decide“.

He contemplated what this may means, it sounded a lot like the commercial line of becoming what you wanted. Maybe classes weren’t set in stones, interested in this concept, he began to look through this list:

________________________________________________

“ Warrior: Close combat specialist, start with a good fighting potential. Relies mainly on strength and constitution. Lead battlefield from the front.

Mage: Ranged damage dealer, delves into the arcane and so it is required a good amount of intelligence and wisdom to go further on the path.

Ranger: Really nimble with good adaptability to different styles of combat. Needs speed and flexibility: a good amount of agility will make a good ranger.

Cleric: Uses faith energy to alleviate other people fatigue and ailments. It is also a person of nice wisdom, or else it will be hard to go down this path.

Tamer: A tamer needs great charisma to make beasts follow him but charisma is not enough, strength is necessary in order to subdue them. Some even will not serve a less intelligent being. “.

After having read this panel two times, Noah was bound to make a choice. But which one?

‘This path think is the key to develop long-term, at least I hope so. Maybe warrior because it sounds to be the easiest class at the start, or also a ranger. All the sneaking and adaptability aspect is tempting. I don’t really know, in the end I dreamed of that army building before starting Vesper. I should stick with it, let's see.’

Pestilence gave the classes a reread and came to stop on the last one, Tamer. It sounded like he could tame everything given the right conditions, maybe this was a similar concept to that of an army. Maybe he could create a swarm only for him to lead, so he decided on it.

“ Class selection confirmed: Tamer path choosen.“

After this message he got catapulted in a black tunnel with a bright light in the distance and after traveling flying through it at lightning speed, he came to be in a city plaza.

It was a beautiful European city setting, Noah could also feel a slight breeze moving his hairs. ‘ I have hairs on my head, Oh my god! I even have arm hair. This feels so real, it’s like I’m standing here physically. ‘.

Noah was amazed by the realism and details, it really was like he moved to another world with a flesh body.

Out of curiosity he looked at his ‘new’ hands, they weren’t exactly like his real ones and so he walked to a near shop window to look at his reflection.

He could see a text saying ’ Pestilence, Lv. 1 ‘ over him, over his face which surprisingly was almost like his real one. This was due probably thanks to the helmet wrapping a good majority of his head and face. It also looked like Vesper got his height and weight about right.

‘ This is really amazing! Now stop daydreaming and let’s try to do something . ‘ Thinking so he started roaming the plaza and found what looked like a city hall guarded by two armored clad soldiers, Pestilence approached them and asked: <<” Hello! I want to enlist in the army, where do I have to go?” >>.

After a scornful gaze by the left guard he got replied by the right one, who stood there proudly holding up a standard with a golden lion on a red flag.

<<” Hello little one! We are guards from this city southern’s army division. If you want to enlist go to the infantry camp to the west, it will take you about 15 minutes from here.“>> said the man in his forty.

Noah, after saying his thanks, went on the way indicated by the guard and took this opportunity to admire this new city who would be his new home for a good part of the coming days.
