Reginn, Kallen and Kaizer made their way to the Academy before the others had woken up since it was a considerable distance away from the forest. They stopped by at Sivrit's house and surprisingly, Blodelshein chose to join them as well.
"I've never been to a school before so I'd like to attend your academy"
"But... The entrance exams are already over" said Sivrit
"Don't worry, I can just make them think I was always here"
"Is... Is that okay?"
"Sure, why wouldn't it be? I can also make it so Kaizer was always there as well. You don't have to stay in your greatsword from at school"
"Really?! That'd be great!"
Good fortune was coming at Kaizer left and right. First, she got a great new puppet body, then was given complete control of it and now she could even attend school. She couldn't believe her luck especially since she thought her life was over the moment she got captured by Reginn, but things were beginning to turn around.
"About your long-distance teleportation method, I'm curious, how does it work?"
"Well, I can access the realm of Psyche and I can also transport there physically there as well. So we just go to The Psyche than back to a desirable location at The Plane of Existence, that practically takes 0 seconds which makes it a method of teleportation"
Reginn was impressed by Blodeshein's knowledgability, she clearly knew a lot of things about the true nature of this world that he believed no mortals could know. He guessed that perhaps she was another disciple of the Goddess, similar to him as those names, "The Plane of Existence" and "The Psyche" were both created by the Goddess.
"Do you want to try it out?" asked Blodelshein "Then hold my hand"
Reginn reluctantly held Blodelshein's hand and others followed. He had never actually been to The Psyche and did not even know that it was possible to go there.
"Just a warning, make sure to close your eyes when you're in The Psyche, I'll tell you when you can open them again"
"What happens if I open my eye?"
"Hmm... You will probably be fine, but for the others, it may cause them to go mad. But even I don't know what exactly they'll see, I can't read their mind about it either"
Sivrit felt as if she broke into a cold sweat. She was jumping head-first into another dangerous situation again.
"I think I'll just walk..." said Sivrit
"Oh, please don't worry about it. Just tightly shut your eyes and you'll be perfectly fine. I did this with people all the time and as long as you follow my instruction, you'll be okay"
"If you say so..."
"Now, close your eyes"
Everyone followed and closed their eyelids shut. Suddenly, they could no longer feel the air around them, but a strange liquid-like substance. It was a bit chilling for Sivrit and she hoped that this would end soon. Meanwhile, Reginn opened his eyes and saw a world he could never have dreamt of. There were flashing lights traveling across the sky as well as strange creatures roaming the land. Pillars of light launched from the ground toward the infinite sky and beneath his feet, he could see the Plane of Existence. The ground was glasslike covered in a small layer of a transparent liquid, and he could see himself on th other side looking back, almost as if looking at a mirror. The other Reginn however, seemed to be in the normal world, unlike this eternally expanding world of information.
Soon after, the world around him began to shrink and dissipated back into the old world, but he could still see traces of it slowly fading away in his shadow. This other world was intrinsically connected to the real world and perhaps The Abstract was like this as well.
"You guys can open your eyes out. Reginn, so what did you see?" asked Blodelshein
"Well, it-"
Before Reginn could share the knowledge, his recollection of the vision began to fade away. This was knowledge that a mortal must not have and while he was allowed to be unharmed, he could not keep the memory,
"I don't remember..."
"Well, that's too bad"
The group made their way to the school and Reginn and Sivrit went to their first class, Combat Magic taught by Eidgaon while the others went their own path. However, when Eidgaon saw Reginn, he asked him to go to the principal's office. Sivrit worried that this may have something to do with his secret identity as a hero, but Reginn assured her that everything was fine. He was not worried in the slightest and to be honest, Sivrit never saw him truly worried ever. He was self-confident to the level of narcissism but then again, he did prove to be the greatest asset among the heroes. She wondered if Blodelshein or Reginn was the better hero, but perhaps that was the wrong way to put it.
When Reginn entered the principal's office, he was faced with an old man with a white beard.
"Hello, Reginn, my name is Karudo, hopefully, you knew that already. Please, have a seat" said the principal "we have a lot to talk about"
Reginn had an ominous feeling about this and checked Karudo's stats, but everything seemed to be normal. He was human. They were the only ones in the room which had 2 bookshelves on both sides and a large glass window overlooking the colosseum behind Karudo.
"I see that you have been skipping school and missing all the assignments. Normally, that'd warrant an expulsion from this prestigious academy, but we're willing to make an exception for you on one condition"
"...and that is?"
"I would like your assistance in training our special class for the gifted. From your match we could see that you have the strength as well as the experience to back it up. You don't have to hide it, we know that you are not a student. You're not here to learn and that's fine, but if you wish to stay, you'll need to help us"
"Can I see who's in this class first?"
"Since these will be your future student, of course"
Karudo began naming the various students, but the names 'Attila' and 'Brun' caught his attention.
"...What exactly do I have to do?"
"Teach them. Use any methods or curriculums you'd like. We will put our full trust in you. Just... don't kill them"
"Alright. I'll do it"
Reginn did not particularly care that much about being expelled as he was already getting bored of the academy lifestyle. Now this new exciting class would surely fuel his curiosity.
When school ended, Sivrit met up with Blodelshein, Kallen and Kaizer to go to the library and research what they could. Sivrit wanted to help at least a little bit on their mission and the least she could do was guide them around the school. This school was a prestigious school that, unlike others, did not have a high entry payment in order to get in. On the other hand, it selected the students solely based on their potential which made it one of the greatest academies in the world. It also did not have to worry about competition or funding since it was owned by the royals, who were desperate to create and foster adventurers, warriors and potential heroes for the good of Avangarden.

The group dispersed at the library to find interesting or important books regarding heroes and demon lords as well as the history of the nation. This was a public library accessible to anyone but also stored many artifacts and ancient texts in the back. This was the perfect place for formal research on any topic. Sivrit chose to begin on the first floor of the library, as the librarian told her that resources about the heroes of the eons could be found here. Deep within the halls of shelves, Sivrit found a striking book that was as thick as a brick. When she pulled it out and opened it, dust lifted into the air. This must've been a book no one had read for at least 5 years. However, it seemingly had the names of every single hero of the times. She believed that it must be impossible since the first hero was over ten thousand years ago, but this book was accurate as it had familiar names such as 'Reginn the Absolute' and 'Kallen the Fallen'. It even had the most recent hero, 'Siege the Warender'. She began from the first page, but could not find the first hero. It just began with Reginn, the second hero. There were no signs of ripped pages, so even this book must not know who the first was. According to the folktales she heard, the first hero was apparently from another world and was the salvation for the Goddess as well as humanity, however, most Church leaders and scholars refute this as while the first was most likely incredibly powerful, they could not be more so than the infinite Goddess.
She read Reginn's entry and as expected, it did not have much detail. It had his name, title and number but the only other information there was the fact that he was a World Beast. She grabbed the book and searched for another book containing information about World Beasts. She found it in an encyclopedia of the world's creatures and according to it, World Beasts were creatures created directly by the gods in order to protect or guard something. She wondered what Reginn possibly could've been the guardian of. To her, he seemed more like a hunter than a guardian. Sivrit decided to read the rest of the entry at Siege's house and borrow the encyclopedia as well as the book of heroes.
Kallen was looking through the books about Pronuses. Ever since his encounter with the summoned Pronus he killed, he could not help but feel a strange familiarity with the specie. Perhaps he had some repressed memories that he'd need to remember once more. However, even when he looked long and hard at the texts and various fact about the specie, he did not come up with anything. Frustrated, he still chose to borrow a book on Elysium and Hades for further research.
Blodelshein and Kaizer did not look for any research material, rather Kaizer just read some comics while laying on Blodelshein's lap. Blodelshein had her eyes closed and began to read the minds of those around her. This was a much more efficient and easier way to gather information than going through book after book. She learnt that Sivrit unknowingly found a magical book, a curious artifact accounting for the 99 heroes over the ages. However, since it was still magical in nature, she'd have a look at it later to see if it was safe.
"Hey, what are you doing? Are you sleeping?" asked Kaizer
"Oh no, I'm researching"
"Really?"
"Of course"
Kaizer had mixed feelings about Blodeshein. She was nice to her and was polite but she still creeped her out a bit. She couldn't help it since she knew Blodelshein could read minds. Perhaps she was reading her mind right now...
"It looks like everyone is ready to leave, let's go"
"Eh? But I'm not finished yet..."
"We can borrow those books for later"
"Really? Okay then"
The others were already waiting for them while Kaizer picked out few more comics to borrow. After they borrowed the books, they left to look for Reginn. Sivrit was concerned since he did not return to class after being called out, and while she knew he would be fine, still decided to check around the school just in case.
"If you want to know, Reginn is at the colosseum right now," said Blodeshein
"Eh? Okay, thank you"
"You can go there right now if you want, I'll take the books you borrowed to Siege's and we can meet up there"
"That'd be great"
Sivrit left the group and headed directly toward the colosseum. On her way, she encountered Eidgaon.
"Hey, what are you doing out here so late?"
"I'm just looking for Reginn, do you know what he's doing?"
"Oh, your mission eh? Well, he's at the colosseum right now but... you should just see for yourself"
As vague as always, Eidgaon made his way home. But what could Reginn be possibly doing at the colosseum? She picked up her pace and jogged toward the building.
When she finally arrived, she saw a few familiar faces training under... Reginn?!
"Reginn?! What are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm doing this to avoid getting expelled"
"I don't mean why are you doing this, I mean what exactly are you doing?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'm training these kids"
"What...?!"
"You know what, you come down here too. I mean, you are my disciple, right?"
"Master, I finished the 100 pushups, what do I do now?" said Attila
"Great, now take a small break- come on Sivrit! Get down here!"
Without a choice, Sivrit walked down the stair and entered the Arena.
"Long story short, I need to teach these kids if I don't want to get kicked out"
"Wait, so your identity didn't get found out?" whispered Sivrit
"I have no idea"
"Isn't that like, super important?"
"Ehhh It should be fine, but more importantly do you know how to fight?"
"Fight?"
"Yeah, combat experience. I never saw you fight before so can you?"
"Well, I'm a novice with the sword"
"Great, that means you have the potential to learn. Attila, your break is over, come over here!"
"Yes sir!"
"Alright, now you'll be duelling Attila"
"What? But I said I was just a novice! Attila is basically a warrior already!"
"It's just a test of your current ability, don't worry about the outcome. Rest of you guys make sure to watch closely alright?"
"Yes sir!"
And with that, the sudden spar between Sivrit and Attila began. Sivrit was handed a training sword and Attila chose the training whip. A rudimentary physical armor was also worn during the fight.
"Don't worry Siv, I'll go easy on you"
"O-okay..."
Attila vs. Sivrit
The match began silently, with neither party making a move. This was different from the Attila Sivrit knew, the girl who always took the lead and charged first. Unnerved by the stillness, Sivrit made her first play. She swung her sword but missed by an inch which Attila unforgivingly punished with a whip to the chestpiece which pushed Sivrit back.
"Sivrit! Remember what you're good at!"
She knew that Attila was a talented warrior, but Sivrit believe that she still had a greater knowledge of spells. Since she was not physically adept, she studied alot of magic before attending the academy, hoping that she could become a mage with her intelligence. However, she knew only a few combat spells and mostly just knew utility spells.
"⌈Flash⌋!"
With this spell, she created a blinding flash of light which made Attila flinch away. Sivrit picked up her sword and swung once again but Attila quickly dodged the strike.
"⌈Flame⌋!"
Sivrit pointed her index and middle finger together at her opponent, which caused a large cloud of flame to spew out. Attila swiftly blew it away with her whip, but now her whip was slightly damaged.
"I guess I can go a little bit harder now"
Attila charged at Sivrit without fear while Sivrit quickly prepared her next spell.
"⌈Thunder⌋!"
This time, a strike of lighting extended from her fingertips but Sivrit missed and Attila pushed through the smoke.
"⌈Fla-"
Eventually, Attila got close enough to be in strike range. However, she threw away her whip and instead grappled her elbow around Svrit's head and pulled her arm back. With a wince, Sivrit tapped the ground three times, showing that she surrendered.
"Impressive, you lasted a lot longer than I thought"
"That doesn't sound like a compliment..."
"You need more training... Hmm... Alright, I'm going to make sure you get stronger after we get to Siege's abode. Prepare for some hellish training! And for the rest of you, go home and relax! Class dismissed!"
The rest of the students left the colosseum while Attila stayed behind.
"So, how've you been doing Siv?"
"Oh, I've been doing fine"
"I heard you got into the council, congrats"
"Thanks"
"I just wanted to ask, how do you know master?"
"Master? You mean Reginn?"
"Well he is our teacher now, and he said to call him a master"
This Reginn... He truly had no shame... No self-respecting teacher could even think of something like that.
"It's actually my mission to monitor him as a member of the council"
"That explains things. Let's go hang out sometimes, we don't really get a chance these days since we entered the academy, but we should do something this weekend"
Since her days were so busy, Sivrit had completely forgotten her duties as a friend. To remedy this, she wondered if Attila would be allowed to come to Siege's house.
"Just give me a sec"
Sivrit went over to Reginn to ask if Attila could come. Not that she was asking for permission, but bringing a stranger to this secret location could have dangerous implications. While she did trust Attila, her just knowing this could put her in a lot of danger.
"No"
"Why not?"
"Well, we shouldn't have even brought you there in the first place. We don't have any plans to allow any more outsiders"
"Then why did you let me in?
"Hmm... I guess I just felt like it?"
Disheartened, Sivrit returned and told Attila that she should come to her house this weekend on Saturday. She realized that now she was living a sort of double life now, one as the council member and student, and another as a comrade of the heroes. She couldn't tell the council about the heroes since she signed the contract and she couldn't betray the heroes because well... they were heroes and why would she ever do that. She was in a balancing act between these two groups and she hoped that the heroes would go public already so she doesn't have to keep the secret for long...
