Deep within the ancient labyrinth, now occupied by rodents and criminals alike, an echoing scream could be heard ringing through the halls. A tall slender man walked carefully between the corpses so as not to dirty his shoes as he lead the freed slaves to the surface. After hours spent underground, the large group now saw the sunlight for the first time in ages.
"Are you not coming with us?" asked one of the now free elves
"...Yeah, I've got some more work to do"
The man returned underground after handing one of the elves a shortsword. He was confused on why he found himself within such a familiar yet foreign labyrinth. And why he was still alive. However, he sensed that his job here was not done yet. This labyrinth had transformed into a prison for slaves. While not any better than its original purpose, this was a sinful ground that needed scorching. He had destroyed this labyrinth once before, and he was ready to do so again.
...
Orchestra, Ace and Dune continued to make their way through the confusing maze, defeating numerous guards and freeing many slaves in the progress. Now it seemed that the whole maze was on high alert. They soon arrived at a large area acting as the entrance to a room with a massive door fit for a mountain. They had lost track of how far deep beneath the ground they went, but it was now clear that they were now at an ocean's depth. The door was swarming with guards protecting the entrance, who were easily defeated with a combined effort of a hero, a demon lord and a spy.
"Now what do we do about this door..." said Ace
"Leave it to me"
Orchestra dropped her sword and took the Acosta stance, charging up a punch.
"Ora!"
After the dust and rubble settled, a large hole appeared penetrating the thick wooden door.
"How dare thy interrupt my meal!" A booming voice echoed from the chamber
The voice created a gust of wind, though it did not phase the group. They simply entered through the large hole, ready for battle.
A massive metal fork was hurled through the air, zooming past Orchestra's face, and lodging on the wooden door behind her. The enemy was a colossal giant, with massive amounts of food displayed before him. Even for a giant, he seemed too large, in a comical way.
"Well, I think we found the boss," said Dune
Ace began blasting without warning and the others were forced to follow suit as the ogreish giant began to stand up.
"I, RippKage, will not let you pass!"
RippKage vs Ace, Orchestra & Dune
RippkageSlammed the ground, almost flattening Ace, but she was successful in evasion and hid within the dust. While searching for the elf, a sword thrown by Orchestra penetrated his mouth skin, causing him to groan in pain. Now more enraged than ever, the giant's heavy blow began to destabilize the cavern.
"We gotta get out of here!" shouted Dune
However, the other 2 heroes were too focused to hear, and only when rubble almost flattened Orchestra that she took of the dangers surrounding them. She began dodging the various rubble that befell upon her, but the movement of the concrete was strange and almost seemed controlled, making it difficult to dodge.
Dune quickly looked for the red line which saved her life from the falling rubble and Orchestra quickly flew to Ace and took to the air as well. However, now the entrance from which they came was completely blocked by rubble.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Hohoh, Now you filthy rats are now stuck within my domain... Surrounded by my rocks, not one of you will leave alive!"
The rocks began to rearrange themselves into shapes of golems. They had to keep track of the rubble, the giant and now, the golems. The battle seemed increasingly dire as Orchestra tried to protect both Ace and Dune, both of whom were vulnerable in melee range.
While thinking of what she could possibly do in this situation, Orchestra suddenly remembered something from back when she battled Karudo. A spell which she never heard before... It was called:
"⌈Royal Flame⌋!"
A golden ray of flames attacked the golems, which seemed to deter them a bit but did not fully decapacitate any of them. This instance of the spell was much weaker than what Grimm could conjure, as Orchestra was never talented in magic. However, just the mere fact that she was able to cast a version of such a powerful spell meant that she had great potential.
As the large wooden table at the centre of the dome caught fire, the enraged RippKage, chopped the table in half and let out a deafening roar. He began to gather all the rubble around him above his head, forming a large sphere akin to an asteroid or a moon.
"This is the end"
With a thundering explosion, the ceiling suddenly opened up revealing the upper parts of the labyrinth. The towering hole was large enough for a castle to stand in, and tens of floors could be seen, all penetrated floor by floor by an unknown stranger.
The stranger smashed through the asteroid with his bare hands, and as it exploded in a blaze, landed gently next to the heroes.
"You fools should evacuate the labyrinth now"
"Huh? No, we can help! We're-" protested Orchestra
"I don't care if you guys are royals or warriors or gods. You better escape because I'm going to destroy this entire labyrinth"
"Wait you can't-"
RippKage slammed the ground in a blind rage as his head was set on fire from the explosion. The burning rubble across the ground now created a volcanic scene, the flame and ashes flung across the air. It was clear that this cavern would become a grave, reminiscent of Hades.
"I better finish this quickly," said the stranger as he pulled out a bow "⌈Nuclear Starburst⌋!"
In seconds, a ball of light appeared in front of the bow, which elongated into a spear. While the bow did not seem to have any strings, the motion nonetheless launched the light toward the giant. The stranger grabbed the wrist of Dune and Ace as he escaped the cavern by blasting a new hole in the wall. Orchestra quickly followed, but was blown back by the blinding explosion the stranger cast. The blinding light lasted for over half a minute, and the sound was deafening. After everything settled down, Orchestra still felt a bit shaken up. She checked through the hole, but no longer was there the hellish scene she witnessed before, but there stood a perfectly spherical room, lined with an unknown metal. It'd be impossible to find anything that survived the blast. Even the smell of the giant's food had evaporated. This was a flame magic of the highest calibre.
"You... you're a hero right?" asked Orchestra
"What if I am?"
"...I am the 50th hero, Orchestra. And you are...?"
"Hm. It's Sacrosanct. I am indeed what they call a hero. I take it that we're not the only hero walking the land"
"That's right, we have many comrades. From your attire, I suppose you woke up within the labyrinth? But... just what is this place?"
"...Follow me"
Sacrosanct lead the group through the confusing hallways and stairs. He seemed to intimately understand the architecture like the back of his hand, confidently taking strange erratic turns.
"S-sir Sacrosanct. Are you perhaps an elf?" asked Ace
"Yeah, got a problem with it?"
"No no sir, I'm also an elf as well. It's just that... I never knew that there was an elf hero of the human kingdom - I'm not sure why I never read of you before"
"Well there's a reason for everything"
Sacrosanct suddenly stopped in front of a brick wall and carefully pressed in some of the lodged bricks. Suddenly, the wall began to slither out of the group's way revealing an antiquated room filled with dust and webs.
"Huh, it's surprising that no one discovered this room since my days now"
The room was filled with scrolls, maps and rotten food, all laid out neatly on a wooden table. There were shelves on all walls, filled to the brim with various objects. There were armour, potions, swords, arrows and even a skull of an unknown species as well as beds.
"Welcome to my old home. Let me get something to drink"
He opened one of the shelves, and as the bugs scuttled away from the webbed bottles of wine, Sacrosanct wondered if the wine even expired.
"Well, this is all I have"
"I'm fine with nothing..." replied Orchestra
"Alright then, have a seat"
Orchestra then suddenly had an idea. She summoned her demonic wings and created a strong gust of wind with them, clearing all the dust out of the room. However, she failed to consider the scrolls on the table.
"Oops!"
As the scrolls fell back to the floor, they revealed their contents on a table. It showed various images, the maps of the maze.
"What are these...?" asked Dune
"This is... the true history of Avangarden"
"The... true history?" asked Orchestra
"Alright then. Let me tell you my story"
