Chapter 8 - Village Chief Shamix

Chapter 8: Village Chief Shamix

“Haha, I’ve already set everything up.” Raven replied with a slight smile at Cool Breeze.

Raven then led the way towards the gate. One of the village guards came up to the trio. “Are you three here to watch the tournament? That’s one silver coin each.”

“No these two with me are here to compete.” Raven shook his head, and pointed at Blacky and Cool Breeze.

The guard appeared slightly surprised. “These two are from the village outskirts?”

Raven smiled slightly and nodded. “That’s right. I live by the mountain side, and have been training these two for a few years.”

The guard seemed to have the expected response, he nodded in reply. “Well, follow me.”

Many of the onlookers watched the scene in surprise. There were even a few fellows who laughed when they heard that they were from the village outskirts.

The duo of Raven and Cool Breeze naturally didn’t care about these people at all. Only Blacky appeared to frown.

The guard led the trio to a stand by the right side of the arena, near a stage.

“The Village Chief will be here soon. Once he arrives he will state the rules of the tournament.” After saying that, the guard turned around and left.

The trio sat down on chairs with Raven at the centre. Blacky was about to talk, but he noticed the two next to him had their eyes shut, as if meditating.

Blacky rolled his eyes, he noticed that some people had taken note of their group. From what Blacky understood, these people thought of them as outsiders. It was only natural that they were disliked.

Blacky shrugged as a sinister smile appeared on his face. What would these people think once their village chief was dead?

“Ah, it’s the Village Chief Shamix!” Someone yelled out.

A few more minutes passed, Blacky heard a commotion build up from the north.

“Look there, it’s his clan members!” Another man in the crowd said.

Blacky took a glance at the Village Chief Shamix. The man was clad in silver armour and had a scar on his left eye. There were a few guards who loyally followed by his side. These people were surely above the middle stages of the Spiritual Warrior Stage.

Everyone in the arena began to cheer when they saw the group walking towards the stage.

Village Chief Shamix smiled as he stood in front of the stage. “Everyone welcome!”

“Today I’ve gathered together all the young geniuses of the village. All of these young fellows are under the age of twenty one, and already reached the Spiritual Warrior Stage.” The crowd cheered as they heard Shamix’s words.

“The winner of this tournament will be chosen by me to represent themselves at Tifili Village’s tournament in a few months.” Shamix smiled before he continued. “It’s said that not only will there be officials from Denus Empire there, I’ve heard even a few Sect members will be there! This is a great opportunity for our village!”

The crowd all seemed surprised at Shamix’s words. They began to cheer even louder.

Shamix smiled. “Then allow me to introduce the five contestants!”

Three young fellows appeared behind Shamix. “Firstly we have Jayson, the son of the Village Elder Stanley!”

A young man suddenly came forward and bowed slightly towards the crowd.

“Jayson is only nineteen years old this year, and has reached the first level of the Spiritual Warrior Stage!” Shamix said as the crowd cheered Jayson’s name.

Shamix continued to smile. “Next is my son, Clarke twenty years old. He is currently a level two Spiritual Warrior!”

This time the crowd began to cheer even louder. Clearly Clarke was quite reputable within the village.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Clarke bowed towards the crowd, before returning to his spot.

“Next is my daughter Janna, only sixteen years old. She is also a level two Spiritual Warrior. In the future she has the chance to reach the mighty Elemental Warrior Stage!” Shamix began to smile proudly as he introduced Janna. He spoke in a much louder voice.

The crowd seemed to go crazy when Janna appeared. All sorts of compliments were thrown her way.

Janna walked up to the stage and bowed. “Thank you all for your support. I’ll be sure to bring glory to our Stone Village.”

Cool Breeze’s shut eyes finally opened as he took a side glance at Janna. Ill intentions were currently rising up within him.

Blacky on the other hand couldn’t wait to go up on the stage. He was younger than Janna and at the same stage. He was sure the crowd would love him.

Janna returned to stand between the other three, but the crowd did not stop their cheering.

Shamix coughed slightly before speaking. “Next.. We have two fellows from outside of the village. These fellows were raised by the mountains of our village.” Shamix turned to look at Blacky’s group.

Raven smiled slightly and nodded towards the Village Chief.

Shamix nodded towards Raven it was unclear what their relationship was.

“First we have.. Blacky.. A twenty one year old level two Spiritual Warrior.” Shamix said the words ‘Twenty-one year old’ seeming not impressed.

Blacky frowned slightly. Raven most likely hid his true age from Shamix.

Not thinking about the matter anymore, Blacky walked up to the stage, and waved towards the crowd.

The crowd remained silent, so Blacky spoke up. “Thank you everyone for coming to watch me!”

The crowd still remained silent. Suddenly someone in the crowd began to boo at Blacky. “You suck!” The man said.

The crowd all began to ridicule Blacky. All sorts of insults were heard from the crowd.

Blacky stood on the stage expressionlessly. Cool Breeze who was watching at the side couldn’t help laughing.

Blacky awkwardly returned to his seat while to crowd booed him.

The Village Chief Shamix smiled slightly. “And finally we have Breezy. A Seventeen year old level one Spiritual Warrior.”

Cool Breeze snorted, not bothering getting up from his chair. Raven by the side whispered something into his ears. Finally Cool Breeze got up from his chair, and got up on the stage with a frown.

Immediately the crowd began to boo at Cool Breeze.

Blacky smiled as he watched the scene. Cool Breeze had quite the ego. His face was turning red in anger as he heard the crowd.

“Nothing but pitiful insects, all beneath my feet.” Cool Breeze’s voice was low but the crowd still heard it.

A few people in the crowd immediately began to toss all sorts of junk towards Cool Breeze.

“You bunch of shit! How dare you throw trash at this Young Master!” Cool Breeze clenched his teeth in anger, shouting out at the crowd.

Blacky almost fell off his chair while laughing at Cool Breeze. The other three contestants also had similar reactions to Blacky.

The crowd didn’t stop due to Cool Breeze’s anger. The few people, who didn’t throw their trash at Cool Breeze, now threw it at him.

Raven watched on with slight shock, feeling the situation was getting a bit out of hand.

“All three of you trash come down and face this young master! NOW!” Cool Breeze finally snapped. He pointed at the three who were standing near each other in anger.

Jayson, the level one Spiritual Warrior snorted in reply. “Village Chief, allow me to take care of this idiot.”

Shamix glanced at Jayson for a moment before nodding.

“Well.. Since Young Master Breezy has requested it he can go up against all three of our village. Of course that’s if you can beat them all in a one on one fight.” The Village Chief Shamix spoke shamelessly. He naturally wanted someone from his village to win. Now that the crowd was completely against Cool Breeze, he decided to pull a fast one.

Cool Breeze laughed sinisterly. “Very good! Come see what this young master will do to you trash!”

Blacky by the side was delighted as well. Raven on the other hand felt quite bad for these villagers..

Jayson arrogantly walked up to the arena, he held a large battle axe in his hands. He waved around the battle axe, like it was nothing.

“Haha, I’ve never met such a fool like you in my entire life. It will be a pleasure to teach you a lesson today.” Jayson laughed as he looked at Cool Breeze.

Cool Breeze got off the stage, and appeared on the arena facing Jayson with a grim smile.

Cool Breeze laughed hysterically. This was the first time he had met such idiots! Even holding back these fools couldn’t even dream about beating him, a full-fledged Elemental Warrior!

Jayson snorted. “Take out your weapon!”

Cool Breeze suddenly put his right hand behind his back, and pointed a finger at Jayson. “This finger is all I need to deal with trash like you.”

Jayson felt like he was up against a retard. He turned to look at the Village Chief.

“Well then.. The first match Jayson verses Breezy.. Begin!” Village Chief Shamix said as the crowd cheered Jayson’s name.

“Kill that white haired kid!” A man in the crowd bellowed.

Jayson smirked as he ran up to Cool Breeze. When he arrived in front of Cool Breeze, his battle axe swung down.

Cool Breeze snorted in disdain. He didn’t take a step back. When the battle axe arrived in front of him, he used his finger to touch the side of the battle axe.

Under the shocked crowd’s eyes, the battle axe in Jayson’s hands flew out of his hands, landing outside of the arena.

“See? You’re nothing but an insect.” Cool Breeze chucked as his finger shot towards Jayson’s chest.

Jayson had no way to counter the attack. Cool Breeze’s finger slammed into his chest, which then sent him flying out of the arena, while coughing up blood.

The crowd shut their mouths as they watched on with shock. With a point of a finger Jayson was sent hurling out of the arena. The fight was over before it even started!

Blacky, Janna and Clarke all felt stunned. None of them could do what Cool Breeze just did with a single finger.

An old man appeared by Jayson’s side. He was the Village Elder Stanley, Jayson’s father.

Raven awkwardly smiled. Village Chief Shamix’s expression changed slightly as he grimly eyed Cool Breeze.

Cool Breeze didn’t take note of any of this. He simply pointed towards Clarke and Janna.

“Now you two bitches, get the fuck down here!” Cool Breeze had formed a grudge against these two, about a week ago.
