But not for long as our protagonist and his pets descend upon the innocent zombies of the illusion barrier that his parents showed him how to create that morning.

“Today is our first time going out to practice on real targets. Well lets get this show on the road”

“Yeah!” Alex and Rose said. Odin was ahead scouting, he is a black cat and has an affinity with darkness.

“Lets go kill some zombies!” Alex yelled and started to rush off.

Suddenly Odin appeared right in front of Alex and slapped him in the face if it could be called that, it was more like scratching, but lets call it slap. “ What the hell are you thinking Alex! If David doesn’t cast ‘Evolution’ on us we are only as strong as fit animals!”

“Oh yeah” Alex mumbled hiding his face “kind of forgot about that….”

“David just cast it already.” Rose said politely in a cute little sister voice.

“Ok! ‘Spirits of Nature, heed my call’ ‘Evolution’”

With this spell, Alex becomes the size of a wolf with some metal armor and claws, Odin becomes a small black panther with shadows basicly radiating off his body, and Rose, well Rose just gets a bit bigger and a bit more aerodynamic.

“David” Alex moaned “why do you always say some stupid chant before you cast Evolution? You don’t even need to anymore! It makes you look stupid!”

“Hey!” I snapped “If anime characters do it then so will I!”

“Oh so you’ll also become a Super Sayan, or maybe you're special and will become a demi god!” Alex retorted

‘Man’ I thought ‘Alex used to be my favorite, but since I can understand him now I realise that he is king of snarkieness snarkier’

“Can we go hunting now” Rose inquires.

“Yeah lets go” I replied

I took out my Katana from my inventory and got to slashing.

Alex went and just charged recklessly.

Rose went around flying straight through enemies heads and every time she would then apologise to the body.

Odin went and… hmm….. where is Odin. I look around. Oh there he is, he’s just in the shadows. Not hiding in them, he literally can become a shadow in his evolved form.

We hunted for about ten minutes and the tiny Dungeon was cleared. We gathered in the center of where we were hunting by the big tree released evolution and laid down and began our ritual we had gotten from our Spartan like training from the last three weeks.............. Complaining about what hurts.

“My Arms hurt” I complained.

“I broke a nail and it hurrrrrrts!” Alex complained

“My entire body aches from crashing into those zombies they have thick heads!” Rose exclaimed.

……….

“Odin” Alex called. “You there?” Alex said MUCH louder.

“Let me Sleep!” Odin complained.
