Mathew watched from the shadows as Diana faced off against the group of witches sent by Niklus Mickel. With a swift and silent intervention, he dispatched the witches and turned to Diana.

"You're a hard woman to protect," Mathew said, his eyes locked on hers.

Diana's eyes searched his face, sensing the secrets he kept hidden. Yet, despite her reservations, she found herself drawn to his calm demeanor and genuine concern for all magical beings.

"I don't need your help," Diana said finally, her voice firm.

Mathew's expression turned serious. "You don't understand, Diana. The book's power has already drawn the attention of dangerous forces. You can't handle this alone."

Diana's jaw set in determination. "I'll take my chances."

Mathew's eyes lingered on hers, a hint of disappointment flickering across his face. "Very well. But know this, Diana: I'll be watching over you, whether you like it or not."

With that, he turned and vanished into the night, leaving Diana to wonder about the mysterious stranger and his true intentions.
