VIII-III. The Tavern's Party

VIII-III. The Tavern's Party

The Holy Thighble walked onto a small stage. Three women, one man, and a skeleton walked on stage. All were wearing matching black clothes in mixed colors. The first woman was taller than the rest of the band and had black hair. She wore a black dress with blue vertical stripes around the waist. She was caring a dark green bagpipe and stood stage right from the center.

The second girl was the shortest than the rest of the band. The girl had long white blossom hair like apple blossoms and wood brown eyes. She was dressed in all black except for a golden fleece around her waist. She looked nervous and hid away from anyone that looked at her. Unlike the rest of the band, she not only carried an instrument, a bronze harp, but also a blooming apple tree that was about her height. She sat stage left to the center. Next to her were two drums.

Next, the Ahkiyyini walked on stage. The Ahkiyyiniโ€™s bones were painted black and blue which reminded people of the ocean. The skeleton stood in front of two brown drums and carried two of his bone in their hand. His teeth rattled with excitement at the back of the stage.

A half-goat man carrying a silver flute wore a black plain shirt with brown pants that matched his fur and head hair. The goat man didnโ€™t wear any shoes and his tail hiding in his shirt. His horn was painted black like his shirt and standing at full height. He was the second tallest in the group and stood slightly behind the bagpipe.

Finally, the last woman stood at the center of the stage. Unlike the rest of the band, she neither had an instrument nor were her clothes black. Instead, she wore a completely blue dress with a black sheep near the bottom of the dress. A big, bright white light surrounded her as she moved. She had light blue eyes and long blonde hair that went down to her waist, each strand like gold. She had two black feathery wings that she kept tucked in. Her beauty was something beyond words, but a mischievous sense came from her eyes. The feelings of pleasant unease twisted the air around and became stronger when her halo grew.

The angelic woman gently closed her eyes, grinning, and the band started playing. After the intro concluded, she opened her blue flaming eyes and started singing with malevolence and relief,

At this point in time, Mallary had left Opal with Sid and made his way towards the gathering noise at the table.

โ€œLooks like Iโ€™m going to be busy.โ€ Sid poured twelve separate mugs and placed them in a row next to Opal. โ€œTry sipping.โ€ Sid picked up a mug and sat down next to Opal. Placing both hands around the cup, and lifted it towards his mouth and took a tiny sip. Opal watched intensely as Sid did this. She then pulled down her midnight bandana, grasped the cup with two hands, and took a little sip. She stopped now and then as she looked over at Sid to see if she was doing it right.

โ€œThatโ€™s right girlie. Take it slow and easy.โ€ Sid said. He then got up and walked back towards his post.

It took Opal slightly longer to finish the drink, using the method Sid had taught her. However, she still finished them at human rates, each time getting goofier. โ€œDaft bastard!โ€ she shouted, waving her arms in the air.

โ€œWhere did you learn a word like that?โ€ Sid asked with a small, surprised look.

โ€œEpimeliad! Epimeliad!โ€ Opal responded, pointing at the stage. โ€œDaft bastard!โ€

โ€œLook at this?โ€ Sid said as he showed a wooden disk with red symbols on it in his hand. โ€œWatch this.โ€ Sid then threw the wooden disk, revealing a white string attached to it as it flew back into his hand. He then flung the disk around, doing some tricks.

Opal clapped with a smile on her lively face. She then reached with her small hands buried inside the pink coat for the toy. โ€œMine,โ€ she said as she continued to reach for the toy.

โ€œHere you go girlie. Have fun,โ€ Sid said, setting the toy on the table. Opal picked up the toy and starts playing with it.
