It was a sunny day when suddenly dark clouds cover the whole town. Rain pours violently in the ground, and each drops digs a tiny hole in the mud. I watched the can of soda as rain pours continuously, the sound is a bit of music to me.
"Hey mom," I answered my mom's phone call.
"Are you okay baby?" Mom asked me.
"Yeah mom, am fine," I answered back.
"Where are you right now?" Mom checking out.
"Am still at school when the rain started," I answered her.
"Okay, that's good," she sounded relieved. "Did any home teacher still around?" she asked.
"Yeah, most of them."
I look around to search whose teachers I could find. I saw Mrs. Bewingle the Guidance Counsel, talking to Mr. Knoff, the Science Teacher, and I saw Ms. Bridge talking to freshmen students.

"Okay, that's great. I have to do an OT, so am thinking if you could come by at the hospital instead when the rain stops. You don't have any homework to do?" Mom asked.
"No, nothing for today," I answered.
"Okay, good. Can you spot Ms. Bridge around?"
"Um... Yes mom," I look once again at the corner where Ms. Bridge standing just a while ago. She wasn't there anymore.
"I think, she went back to her classroom..." I said.
"Okay. I will call her to drop you by in the hospital on her way home. Will call you back baby."
"Okay, mom." Mom hangs up the phone.
The rain continued pouring down. After a few minutes, I saw Ms. Bridge talking to someone on her phone while walking towards me.
"Devin, it's your mom."
Ms. Bridge handed me her cellular phone. I talk to mom on the phone for a few moments then give it back to Ms. Bridge.

I wonder why this town often rained. I watched the wiper in Ms. Bridge pick-up as it continues doing its job, the rain still drenches heavily.
Even though Ms. Bridge decided to go home than waiting for the rain to stops, it is really gotten dark. Ms. Bridge drove carefully as she follows the other car. We passed by the intersection where someone was on accident.
The RESCUE hurried to attend the driver, I guessed, nothing much serious, except she has an infant passenger.
We continue taking the road when a flash of lightning strikes the trees ahead of us. Good thing the car in front of us saw it and make a fast right turn, then Ms. Bridge swiftly hit the brake of her car.
"Are you okay, Devin?" she asked me and I nodded.
Why did it often rain? I keep asking myself.
