In the beginning, there was Darkness. Only a still eternal blackness that stretched on for infinity. There was nothing in that empty void except nothing itself. And then, something happened, the still darkness began to stir, as one does from long slumber. It was slow, almost unnoticeable at first, but it grew faster and faster until something awoke. And thus, the first being to ever gain sentience found itself in the Darkness, rather, it was the Darkness itself. But, even though it was awake, Darkness still did nothing, after all, it didn’t know what it could do. So, it just remained, doing nothing except being and through being, it created Time, its first child.
But, unlike itself, Time was not sentient, it only gave Darkness a new perspective of itself, aware that it was constantly changing. And while it toyed with this thought, it continued its ambient movement, like a person who was unconsciously breathing. And then, after an indeterminable amount of time, it shifted, and with this shift it allowed space for something other than itself to exist. And thus, light came into the world ever so briefly, before it was smothered by Darkness’s formless body. But this was enough to peak Darkness’s curiosity, who “moved over,” giving space for Light to exist.
And it was very curious as to what Light was, for it was not created from it, rather, from an absence of it. Its actions created Light, but Light was not of Darkness, and this was a mystery that it pondered, all it knew was that for other things to exist, it had to come from itself. But here was something that broke all that rule. But, just like Time, Light too was not sentient, and so Darkness lost interest, once more just waiting until sleep would reclaim it.
And so, it waited and waited for its body to return to absolute stillness, but, in the eons that came, Time and Light too gained sentience and Darkness was not so alone anymore. So, Darkness abstained from slumber and kept both Time and Light Company, spending eons in silence. And during this time, all three spent their time amongst one another in silence, until Darkness unintentionally created yet again.
It had, by absent-minded thinking, created something. And so, it showed it to both Time and Light, being amazed at how the object changed as it passed through the hands of the two of them. Time gave it motion, and Light gave color. And thus, what would become the basis of stone was brought into the world, the foundation upon which the three of them would go on to build the rest of the Universe.
But the goal of creating a functioning Universe was not on their agenda, they were simply enjoying a new activity, they created for the sake of creating itself, nothing more, nothing less. And when they had made all that they could make, they then began to combine what they have made into new things, countless eons passing as a Universe was slowly pieced together.
And once they were done, they were surrounded by a perfect Universe, done so by Time which moved them, Darkness which made the laws of Physics, and Light which gave everything color. ANd so, once they were done, the three were yet again satisfied, and they remained, watching over the still-lifeless Universe.
And as more time passed, Darkness felt the tug of slumber upon it, but, unwilling to leave its friends without some sort of goodbye, it proposed one final project. It was to create Life, the first project that was started on purpose. Time and Light both agreed, pitching in to help. Once again, Darkness made the matter that these beings would be made from, creating their bodies. And while some were simple creatures made of homogenous material, others it spent more time on, combining various materials such as flesh and bone.

Millions of unique life forms were created, which left only the soul. And this was the most difficult part, for they did not know how to impart independent and purposeful movement to these creatures. But, it was eventually solved with a combination of Light and Time. Light’s own energy would be given as the basis of the soul and Time would be the “battery” of said soul, each soul would have a Timer and if left undisturbed, it will run out of time and then the soul will leave the body. Each being would be given their own Time with which to spend on their own and once this was done, they were dispersed into the Universe.
And with this done, Darkness was content, falling into slumber, its body falling still once more. And never once did it stir again, laying still for so long that Light lost hope for Darkness’s return. And so, it thought to create a new Darkness, asking for the help of Time who denied Light. For it, unlike Light, saw what the future held, and while it itself could not travel to those futures, it knew that one day, Darkness would return.
But Light was tired of Time’s constant assurances that never came to fruition so it created Darkness’s replacement, taking a piece of Darkness’s body and with it, formed a new one to host a soul. But, since Time had not helped Light, this soul did not possess a “battery” and so, to replace it, Light gave it part of its own. And as a result, like Light and Time, this new being did not possess an end to its life, it too would live forever.
Light gave unto this being a name, calling it Night. It would be her opposite and yet a helper, just like Darkness. And so she introduced Night to Time, excited that they can start creating things again but Time refused, it saw the future that Light had brought and it had no wish to take part of it. And so Time isolated itself, taking no part in the affairs of others. And Light, Light ignored Time, instead focusing on Night so that they could create children of their own.
And with the lessons that Light learned with Darkness and Time with their own creations, it created better children to populate the Universe, these beings also lacking a time limit upon their souls. These would be known as the Gods and these Gods adopted the views of their mortal kin, adapting things such as gender and emotion. And as these Gods possessed pieces of Light’s own soul, Light too gained these things, becoming the Mother of Creation.
Jealous that only Light could create, Night too decided to make children of her own, these which received a piece of Night's soul, making what was the antithesis of what Light had made. When Light learned of what Night had done, she demanded that Night's children be destroyed, a demand that Night refused. Determined to have her way, Light commanded her children to destroy the false imitations and Night acted to protect her children. War was born that day, War which consumed the entire Universe, bringing forth the concept of End.
WIth War, there was an End to Life, an End to Peace, an End to Creation. And thus, End was born and it grew strong, devouring all that the War left in its wake. And as it grew, its hunger grew as well, a hunger great enough to even desire consuming Light herself. But it was still too weak, it had to bide its time and grow stronger. And it was in this Universe, one so different from what it had created that Darkness awoke. What would it do?
