Ch 022_The Eastern Goddess

Zarres was hunting in the forest, hoping to find a deer or any other edible animal. Suddenly, on his journey, he sensed an immensely strong presence near Kandhita. Zarres had implanted his mystical energy into Kandhita's body, allowing him to sense her presence anywhere, no matter the distance, as long as the implanted mystical energy remained intact.

With focus, Nazzares prepared to teleport to Kandhita’s position. This technique was inspired by his master, who could swap positions with his sword. However, its application was slightly different from Nazzares’ technique, which required implanting mystical energy into a target, whether living or non-living.

"Wait, my wife. I'm coming to you soon."

Meanwhile, Kandhita was in conversation with the goddess, who was about to bestow her a gift.

"Alright, by the will of the heavens, I shall grant you a gi—" Before the goddess could finish her sentence, Zarres suddenly teleported and launched a raw kick directly at her face.

"Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!" The goddess screamed in shock as Zarres' foot landed squarely on her beautiful face, leaving a clear imprint.

"Take this, you old hag! Hiiiaaaattt!"

BAMM!! PLAKK!!

The goddess immediately fainted on the spot.

"You IDIOT" Kandhita screamed with wide eyes, shocked to see the goddess unconscious before her.

PLAKK PLAAKK BAAM BLAMM

"Aaaaaaaaaaaa..." Nazzares cried out.

Moments later...

With heavy eyelids, the goddess slowly opened her eyes, her head still spinning from Zarres’ powerful kick.

"Where am I? What happened?" she murmured in confusion as she tried to get up.

Once she regained full awareness, the goddess shot a sharp glare at Nazzares, her face still bearing the imprint of his foot.

"So, why did you attack me?" she asked, sitting with her legs crossed and arms folded across her chest.

"Mmm... Mmmmm... Mmmm... I sincerely apologize, Goddess! I didn’t know you were the divine one—I thought you were a Raksha... Hehehe," Zarres chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head while his bruised face bore the marks of his wife’s punches.

"Yes, Goddess... Please forgive my husband's foolishness," Kandhita pleaded softly. However, her eyes carried a terrifying glare directed at Nazzares, making him shiver in fear.

"Tch... Humans are all idiots," the goddess scoffed.

"You're right, Goddess. Humans are indeed foolish... But you look incredibly beautiful, Goddess," Zarres replied, admiring her beauty despite the footprint still visible on her face.

"Silence, you fool!" his wife snapped at him. Immediately, Zarres shielded his head with both hands.

"Owww owww... Alright, alright! I surrender!" Zarres whimpered in a small voice, trembling.

"My apologies, Goddess. What were you about to say in our last conversation? Before this nuisance interrupted us?" Kandhita asked gently.

"Haahhh... Very well, let’s just forget about that incident. I have forgiven your husband," the goddess sighed.

"Hahahahaha, that’s great, Godde—Oof!"

GLUKK..!!

Kandhita’s elbow struck Nazzares' stomach, silencing him with a deadly glare. Terrified, Zarres scurried to a corner of the room, sitting there in contemplation.

"Hehe... Please continue, Goddess," Kandhita said politely.

"Very well, let's go outside," the goddess instructed.

Once outside, the goddess stretched out both arms, her body levitating as a green aura radiated from her, exuding a warm and serene mystical pressure. Suddenly, the energy expanded, marking all the trees and plants that Kandhita and Nazzares had planted. Instantly, the trees, plants, and grass flourished, growing lush and beautiful in a slow, mesmerizing transformation.

SSSHT KREKK KREKK

As the process concluded, from the direction of the trees, Abail's silhouette appeared, smiling. He was followed by Kandhita’s father, Mujiono, who was also smiling. Then, one by one, Kandhita and Nazzares’ friends emerged, along with the villagers who had fallen victim to the incident two months ago.

Zarres could no longer hold back his tears upon seeing his father again, overwhelmed with longing. Kandhita, too, was deeply moved and smiled as she saw the people she once knew now at peace in the eternal realm.

"Alright... The will of the heavens has been fulfilled. However, I have a message for both of you," the goddess said, ready to deliver her words to Kandhita and Zarres.

"What is it, Goddess? I am honored that a mere woman like myself receives a message from the will of the heavens," Kandhita replied humbly.

"Kandhita, be patient, for you have a foolish Fatalis husband. However, he is the only one capable of shouldering your destiny."

"Nazzares, the Fatalis..."

Their eyes met. ZzzZZtt

Nazzares, brimming with pride, raised both his eyebrows in anticipation. He was ready to hear the divine words from the goddess of the heavens.

"Study diligently..." The goddess spoke—then left just like that, vanishing into the green mist.

"OOOOIIIIII... What the hell was that?!" Zarres exclaimed, bewildered by the brief message. However, beside him, Kandhita glared menacingly at him.

"...Very well, Goddess. I will study with all my heart," Zarres corrected himself, replying in a much more obedient tone.

The goddess departed, returning through the same path she had arrived from.

"I don’t understand... Why did his attack affect me? After all, I am merely a spirit," the goddess pondered as she made her way back to her realm.

Nightfall at Zarres’ Home in the Heart of the Forest...

Kandhita was soaking in the hot spring bath, a bathing area that Zarres had built, inspired by the designs of inns in the city of Serabi. She pondered over the words of the goddess.

"I don’t know... Maybe it’s simply because he’s my husband." Kandhita decided to accept the goddess’s words as they were.

After finishing her bath...

"I just realized... On your back, you have a birthmark (mole)," Zarres remarked as he noticed Kandhita’s back before she had the chance to put on her clothes.

"Huh...? You don’t like it?" his wife asked.

"Haaa... Of course, I like it. Yaww yaww, rawwww..." Zarres teased, tickling his wife playfully.

"Ahhh, that tickles... stop it! Hahahahaha!" Kandhita laughed and squirmed, her body shaking with movement.

The night passed with Zarres and Kandhita playing hide and seek until they were exhausted and fell asleep.

At the Gathering of the Kings

A tense atmosphere loomed over the kings of the Nuswantorra alliance. This meeting was convened to discuss the Raksha, which had recently begun to appear and threaten the survival of all races in Nuswantorra.

The representatives of the great kingdoms present were:

From Javadipha (Java) : The Majapahit Kingdom, led by His Majesty Hayamwuruk of the human race.

From Swarnadipha : The Kandis Kingdom, led by His Majesty Maharaja Diraja of the elf race.

From Nusa Kencana: The Kaharingan Kingdom, led by His Majesty King Bunu of the Nagini race (half-human, half-dragon).

From Kelebes : The Luwu Kingdom, led by His Majesty Manurung of the beast-human race.

From Dwi Panta : The Baliem Kingdom, led by His Majesty Aituha of the Melanesian race.

From the seas of Nuswantorra : The Masalembo Kingdom, led by Queen Danush Taraka of the Matsytatian race.

Though many more kingdoms were spread across the vast lands of Nuswantorra, this meeting was attended only by those who held the highest authority over their respective islands—whether in terms of military power, education, or resources.

Now, the six greatest powers of Nuswantorra had gathered for a crucial meeting. The tension in the air was palpable, and the weight of their responsibilities bore down upon them.

To be continued...
