Chapter 1

It's been 3 weeks since Inunde first appeared in my head, and I've finally gotten used to the booming voice appearing out of nowhere at seemingly random times. One time when I was out hunting and was just about to fire my arrow from my beautiful elvish crafted bow, and Inunde played a prank on me by saying "BOO!" so loud I fell out of the tree i was in and hurt my shoulder when I landed on it. "FUCK YOU" I had screamed towards my other occupant in my head. All Inunde responded with was it's bellowing and echoing laugh.

I was walking through the seemingly neverending woods when Inunde asks me a question out of the blue.

"Why are you even running?" I stop dead in my tracks at the absurdity of the question and swiftly responds in a monotone voice: "Why wouldn't I run?" "You seem competent enough to handle whatever is after you, you have survived this long in the wild all by yourself so far." So far, as if I'm going to die at any moment after this long of staying alive. "I don't know if you know this, but hunting and fighting is very different" I responded half-making fun of him. "Oh but they're much more similiar than you think my dear Azalore, you see-" Inunde takes a break to, what sounds like smacking his lips to continue. "In this scenario, you are the prey, and those who chase you are the hunters. What they don't know is that this prey can fight back, and she can put up a mighty fight if she wants to, but it seems like all she's willing to do is to laze around and hunt SQUIRRELS!" Inunde almost growled with that last part growing more frustrated with each word it said. "I'm sorry I'm not a bloodthirsty barbarian who dreams of going to Valhalla." I respond in a mocking voice. "See that's your problem, you think all I want is blood being spilled, guts pouring out of theirs stomachs and fed to them while still alive, and even though that sounds fun that's not the point. What I want is your best my dear Azalore." "Pfft." i responed immediately in a dismissive tone. "All you want is to test me in combat." I continued. Inunde went silent, perhaps sensing I'll only get more frustrated if he continued talking, and we set off on our way.

"Show me, show me, show me-" continued Inunde endlessly without as much taking a single breath. "Why do you want me to ruin my hunt just because youre bored?" I muttered under my breath trying to focus on the deer that's blissfully unaware of the immediate danger it is in. I stalked closer to my prey with silent and trained movements as it chewed on some grass from the clearing in the middle of the woods.

"Show it, show it, show it-" Inunde peppered me with distracting words, making me want to use my power to blow off some steam.

"By the gods can you shut up?!?" I growled at Inunde loud enough for the deers head to perk up. Now look at what you did I thought to myself, taking extra care to make sure Inunde couldn't read my mind. I had to act quickly before the deer got too scared and ran away. I took aimand was ready to flick my index finger at the deer. It looked around and was just able to see the impending doom rapidly coming towards it before it burst out in flames and gave out a screech before it immmedietaly collapsed as the flames licked the air around it, desperately trying to find something else to cling to before it dies.

"I'm sorry" i said softly to the deceased deer, it's skin and flesh burned black, and a foul smell that could be touched covered the area. I severed the tarnished, coal-like parts of the deer and removed all of its insides as i carefully made sure not to ruin any of the edible meat.

All the while Inunde is joyful, presumably with a grin on their face. "See that wasn't so hard was it?" Inunde tried to tease me. I dismissively responded with a "You're welcome" then resumed cutting up the meat into small pieces so i can easily salt, dry, and carry them.
