Chapter 3- The River

The group of youths started on their way to the central area of the Hall of Champions.’ Why are they so fast’? Azeroth had trouble keeping up with them and had to keep up a light jog to stay in Pace with them despite the fact that the others were walking. This minute detail showcased the difference between a cultivator and a non-cultivator. A cultivator could walk thirty kilometers in ten minutes and not break a sweat.

' Finally, we are here'. The central area of the Hall of Champions was huge, it was big enough to accommodate at least 10000 people. In a sense, it fit a cultivator’s standards. There were a few groups of people standing near a manmade pond and admiring it.

' Princess Diana is here as well, could this be her team?'

“Well it looks like you guys are finally here”, said Diana. The others then looked up and inspected the new arrivals. Azeroth also inspected them. He already met Diana and then there was elven man with blonde hair and green eyes.’ Elves really are a naturally beautiful race', thought Azeroth. He seemed to be a mage of sorts or perhaps a elementalist.

Then there was a Asian youth wearing a set of normal robes in contrast to the others who wore luxurious and noble clothing. He had a clear handsome face with sword shaped eyebrows and black hair and eyes. His calm and confident demeanor along with a hint of indifference reminded Azeroth of the protagonists from the novels in his past life.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

The next person was a beautiful Asian looking woman who wore a beautiful white robe. Her hair and eyes were also black, but for some reason her eyes had a hint profoundness to them which Azeroth was unable to comprehend.

' From the looks of it, each team has four members'.

“Yumi so you were here? You should have told me I would have come and seen you”, said Shingen. “I told you to call me by full name young master Shingen, we are not close enough for you to address me as such”, said Yumiko Kazama.

‘Damn it looks like the affection is one sided', thought Azeroth.

Shingen flinched for a second but then replied back,” Oh come on Yumi, we are engaged, it’s natural for us to be so close”.” It was not a engagement that I agreed to, our families were the ones to do so”.

“If Yumi isn’t comfortable than why do you insist, just leave her “, said the youth in plain clothes. He was Chu Feng, a practitioner from a ordinary low rated clan on a small planet. Despite being of humble origins he was incredibly talented and his cultivation swiftly rose in a short amount of time.

“You commoner what did you say, who are you to come between us”, Shingen said furiously.” You dare to call her Yumi as well”, saying this Shingen unsheathed his blade.

It was at that moment that Azeroth fell into the river.
