"Σπίτι μου σπιτάκι μου και σπιτοκαλυβάκι μου."
Amy's eyes shoot open, finding herself strapped onto a metal table in complete darkness disabling her from seeing who was the source of the voice.
'What? Who are you and where am I?'
"My name is Prometheus and you're back home."
"Prometheus? Home? I'm so confused. Why can't I move?" She used every fiber in her being but couldn't move a muscle.
"Your body is paralyzed little girl so you should get comfy. I'll introduce myself properly since this is the first time you and I have had a proper conversation." A man with fair skin and blue eyes appeared right in front of her out of thin air. "My name is Prometheus and I'm a God of fire. It's a pleasure to formally meet you, Amy."
"You're the same guy from my last dream! Didn't you promise to protect me? Why did you allow the king to do that to me? Now I'm stuck in this dark room where they're probably spying on me through a glass window "
"Don't worry child. You're no longer in the human realm but you're not a Devbarian so you can't move freely or see the beautiful scenery in the spirit realm."
"Spirit realm? The more you talk the more questions I have"
He facepalms while sighing. He floats over to Amy and manifests a flaming torch.
"I'll teach you about that later. I'm assuming you know about the Devbarian race then?"
"I hear that name on the streets a lot. It's the God race, right? The race that has the power of the... gods "
" I'm guessing you're wondering how a human-like yourself can talk to a God like I. Well, that's thanks to two people: me and your king. Your king summoned me out of the Spirit realm hoping to have me be his trump card for war. He planned that I'd control your body then blend in with the Devbarians just to learn their secrets and tactics. I didn't like the idea so I decided to lay dormant which gives you access to my full power."
"So you rejected his plan which would give you popularity and fame in the long run then gave a random human girl god power. What is your objective with me?"
"Well…"
Prometheus's body began to dissolve rapidly but he showed a face of joy.
"Don't worry, you're just waking up so let me say one thing before I go. Never ignore me again child."
With those last words, he disappeared leaving Amy alone in her abyss. Tears flowed down her eyes as she whimpered realizing she was truly alone and there was no escape.
"Someone save me, please… Sir Devan, please help me!"
Meanwhile back in Manotania Devan was ambling home from a stressful day of work not realizing what was waiting for him at home.
"Achoo!"
' I guess someone is talking about me, nothing new I suppose. I'm just glad this day is finally over.'
Devan had watched over the fighters, listened to dozens of citizens' troubles, and patrolled the kingdom properly. Doing those tasks repeatedly exhausted a vast amount of his energy.
' I almost forgot I got to deal with another idiot to deal with at home. When will I catch a break?'
Soon enough he arrived on his front porch reaching in his pockets for his house key. As he inserted the key in the door he noticed the house was in complete darkness through the transparent window on his door.
' This doesn't seem right' he ponders as he opens his door gradually seeing everything in the same place he left them but hearing only the water drip in his kitchen sink. He forces the door closed before turning his entire house upside door seeing if anything suspicious was in the house including Amy but nothing came to the surface.
"Where the hell is that little brat? She doesn't have anything special to do so why isn't she here!?" He yelled hoping she'd come out. He waited for a few seconds yet nothing appeared in front of him. Panic surged through him as each vein popped becoming more visible on his body. "If someone touched that girl I'll bury them six feet under where they stand!" He screams as he kicks down his doors readying himself to sprint down the street however someone had caught the door before it fell completely off the hinges. A woman with short silver braided hair and hazel eyes was barely holding the door.
"May I have some help here Mr. Devan?" She asks while huffing and puffing.
Stolen novel; please report.
"Mr? Is that Marie Vega?" He queries as he rushes over to help her with the door.
Once they dealt with the door issue Marie leaned on the wall as she tried to tell Devan an important message. "I… came here… to tell you… you need to come to the … palace immediately"
"Why am I not surprised? I know why. It's because he's an idiot savant!" It was rather obvious Devan's blood was still erupting which shook Marie so much she slowly walked out of the house hoping to not be caught in his rage. The second she stepped out of the house Devan darts past her making her lab coat propel from the ground and float in mid-air.
' That's our true savior huh?' she grins like a Cheshire cat as she yells "wait for me!" Seeing two high officials race to the palace did raise some eyes but everyone continued with their regular night routines.
Eventually, they both arrived in front of the bedazzled king, Craig, both covered in sweat.
"I love the enthusiasm you both have. Now Marie can you join the other scholars while I update Devan?" He requests tilting his head on the side.
"Of course Craig"
"King Craig." He corrects her before she nods as she leaves the room at full tilt.
"She was one of my best students but she still doesn't acknowledge me as a king. She should learn some respect. Anyway Devan, my man, I have a surprise for you today." He states while striding towards Devan till he is within arm's length.
"I guess you haven't been busy doing nothing. That's good news I suppose"
"That's not the only good news. We have our trump card back."
"Our trump card? What are you talking about Craig and make it quick cause I have more important things to do right now."
"Alright alright. I'll just show you then."
"Show me?"
Behind Craig, the wall split open showing a little girl in a large white t-shirt crying. She was strapped onto a metal table while dozens of scholars noted down each of her movements and her vitals. Devan's sweat evaporated on his body, his heart struck his chest repeatedly, his fingers dug into his palm making his right hand into a blood fountain. Craig began explaining his plan to Devan but none of his words reached Devan since he was busy cooling his anger.
' I'll just flip the switch' he thinks as he snapped his fingers which caught Craig's attention.
"Is there something wrong Devan?" He questioned only seeing Devan wrap his sleeve around his bloody hand. Devan shook his hand with a smile on his face motioning him to continue with his plan.
"Um, how about we continue this conversation in the morning. I'm getting a bit tired."
Devan nods but skips forward to get a proper look at the unconscious Amy. "I'll get you out of here you idiot" he whispered before he turned around snapping his hand once again. " I hope you have a good rest… Craig" those were the last words he said to Craig which creeped Craig out.
' What are you up to Devan?' Craig ponders as he is greeted with his Secret service.
" Stay at the gates tonight and make sure no one leaves or enters the kingdom"
"Yes sir" the men muttered as they got sucked into the shadows
Simultaneously, Devan was outside the palace taking off his shirt to cover his face. He sat behind and waited for the perfect moment to infiltrate the castle.
Several hours passed and Devan was still in the same position not making a peep. Right above him, the moon was reflecting all its light at the palace showing all the lights were turned off. This was the signal Devan was waiting for. He avoided all the security cameras but found it weird all the guards were not at their post expecting he had to kill a few.
' I see. I guess you're thinking ahead of me Craig. Let's see who'll win'
Catching onto Craig's plan Devan darts at the front entrance of the lab to be greeted by one scholar in a lab coat. She had Amy over her shoulder and turned to Devan.
"You took your time Mr. Devan. I was about to take her to your house." She says as she realizes he was shirtless. " H- y- W-why?" She only managed to get one word out as she turned bright red.
"How did you know?" He asks trying to avoid her questions
"I know a lot of stuff about you Mr. Devan" she states proudly as she regains her composure.
A chill went up to his spine just thinking about it. He cleared his throat and walked up to Marie to talk to her face to face.
"I'm leaving the kingdom tonight Marie so give Amy to me"
"I guess I'm leaving with the two of you."
"Urgh, fine. Let's hurry though. I don't want to keep my audience waiting."
"What are you talking about?"
He smirks then dashes out of the lab hoping Marie could keep up. She was trying her hardest which kept her within 10 feet of Devan throughout the whole journey to the gate. Soon enough Devan reached the exit of the Kingdom, being greeted with dozens of men. Among those men stood Craig who seemed rather excited.
"Are you sure about this Devan? If you leave you'll be not only betraying us but you'll also become an enemy of the kingdom."
"Hahahahaha! I was waiting for this day. Now I can go all out for once just like the old days. Marie, stay behind me" he yells as he cracks his knuckles getting into a fighting stance.
"Men. Don't pull any of your punches. If you do then I hope you have a nice trip in the afterlife. If he wanted to he could kill us all now but luckily he'll be a little distracted in this fight. My last order to you all is to keep him alive. Go!"
Like a pack of wolves, they all pounced on their prey with ready arms. The first wave had katanas in hand. It was a 5v1 situation but Devan swiftly snapped all their necks with ease along with picking up one of their katanas.
"Now it's a little more even. Come at me bastards!"
Dozens of them rushed Devan but were met with flames.
"This will take too long. Let me handle this human."
Amy got down from Marie and pushed Devan aside.
"Just let us all leave, Craig. You know I'll ruin everything with just a flick of my wrist." With those words, a massive ball of flame materialized above Amy's finger.
"Charge men!" Craig yells as he joins the pack.
'Stop it Prometheus'
"Don't worry Amy" Prometheus says as he grabs Marie and Devan. "Hold on tight you two"
"You got a lot to explain brat" yelled Devan.
She jumped several hundred feet off the ground completely clearing the Kingdom's gate. Before they could chase them Prometheus threw the ball of flame at the gate as he landed in a black, primeval jungle.
Some of the men tried to get through the wall of flames but were reduced to a pile of ash.
"Don't worry about them, men. They're in Aokigahara Forest now. I'll collect Amy's body after the monsters eat their dinner."
He turned around walking back to his palace while chuckling.
' I guess you won the battle again but I'm gonna win the war Devan'
