Ryn had heard in his gossip sessions with the elders of the village that Gideon was a well known wealthy blacksmith back before he moved to the village.
And that the only thing that matched his skill was his love for money.
"Then I guess I have no choice but to make it for you." Gideon Sighed observing him.
'He really is a strange kid, he reminds me of him.'
"Is that so?. hmm… are you ok ahjussi?"
"Ah! Am okay."
"You are smiling, but you look sad at the same time?" Ryn tilted his head, trying to figure out what was wrong with him.
"Ehem! I said I'm okay, you brat. So what kind of weapon do you want made for you" Gideon was embarrassed and changed topic.
For a moment Gideon forgot that he was really having tea time with a 6-year-old and not some colleague or at least an adult.
It was strange, though, because Ryn carried himself and held conversations like an adult.
Consequently, it was not uncommon for most of those who chatted with him to treat him as an adult, if only for a moment. Gideon was no exception.
"I will prefer something light and multifunctional."
"So you want one made by using those techniques, ha?"
"I guess you could say that."
The other reason that brought Ryn here earlier was he wanted Gideon to shed some light on the documents he decrypted from the data he received at birth.
This one in particular was all about weapon-smithing. He thought at the beginning that it was a record of the weapons in the place of the data, but it was more than just that.
"After one or more trial, i think i can make a perfect secondary weapon, utilizing the second technique, and the to make trilateral weapon, i will definitely need the full third technique, which even with it i don't know if i will succeed"
"So it's impossible for you, ha!?"
"It is not that it's impossible for me. It is not possible for every blacksmith in this continent."
"Really!?" Ryn was shocked to hear that.
"You think it is that easy to make the weapons in the myth?. The Legendary Triad weapons." Gideon was almost upset, feeling like Ryn was belittling his skills.

Trilateral weapons or Triad, as referred to in the legends, were weapons that had the ability to function and turn to different three forms.
Without the need to utilize added parts or connect to other weapons, they were able to function more than one way. Those were the Triad weapons mentioned in the third technique.
"Yeah, you can't make such legendary weapons, but if you bring me the rest of the third technique, I will definitely make it, for I am the descendents of one of the blacksmiths of those triads, the White Hand."
'What is he on about!?' Ryn couldn't understand how Gideon's demeanor suddenly changed from almost being upset to boasting about his lineage.
Ryn brought him the scripts about the smithing he decrypted which had in total 5 techniques in total of making weapons, though he translated three techniques and he was on the fourth. He only brought Gideon two and a half, with the third one missing some parts.
"So you are saying if you have the rest of the third part, you could make a trilateral weapon?"
"It wouldn't exactly be like those in the legends, but if I have the full third part and some high quality, and I mean really high quality, I can make something similar."
"Hm, i guess i will have to search the chief's library for the rest of it."
Ryn couldn't disclose exactly how he acquired those techniques, so he chose the chief's library.
It was well known that Ryn had spent a lot of time there.
Unbeknownst to him, however, many newcomers who had moved to the village were aware that it was far from being ordinary.
They knew that the village had deep roots and a long-standing existence, yet it maintained its status as a village.
"So back to the weapon, since I will soon be able to use the second technique proficiently, Ehem.. Ehem.. what kind of weapon do you want made?" Gideon kept clearing his throat through his words, with a smirk on his lips, like a proud grandad boasting.
'I don't understand what's wrong with this ahjussi.' Ryn sighed inwardly.
Ryn looked around and then went up to pick a material to draw his desired weapon.
After sketching a while of what looked like curved daggers with adult balm long handles that ended in round shapes.
"Hmm. so curved daggers. I assume the hilt is where you want them connected as their secondary form?."
"Yeah, I want the grip to be long enough so when interlocked, it won't hinder my movement and also to not be as long as the spear at the same time."
"I see what you mean."
"And also .."
KNOCK* KNOCK*
"Rynathar! Are you there!?" a loud calling came from outside the smithy, which interrupted their conversation.
"Ah! Father is here?"
"I think he came to pick us up since you didn't go back."
"I think so."
"Let's leave it at that and go, we will finish the discussion another time."
"Ok. you are coming for lunch right!?"
"Hmm! I guess I can't say no, even after your father came himself." Gideon thought for a moment before answering.
"I will go and inform my father." Ryn left the inner smithy with those last words.
"Rynathar, what took you so long? Your mother has been waiting for your return?"
Gideon could hear from inside how Dastarn was reprimanding his son for the tardiness.
"I guess I should close up and leave. It's impolite to make lady Enara wait."
Gideon arrived at the lunch he was invited to, and he was welcomed at the door by Enara.
"Come in, uncle Gideon."
"Hoho, thanks for the lunch invitation, lady Enara." Gideon
Enara Opens the door with a warm smile.
"Hello, Uncle Gideon! So glad you could make it. Please come in."
Gideon Returns the smile.
"Thanks for having me. Smells amazing in here."
"Grab a seat. We're just about ready to eat."
"Perfect timing. How have you all been?"
Dastarn and Ryn were already on the table, apparently waiting for Gideon, probably Enara's orders.
"We are doing well, thanks." "and the kids are growing like weeds," Dastarn and Enara replied, respectively.
"I think you have met Ryn earlier. Say hi Ryn." Dastarn turned towards Ryn.
"Hello, Mr Gideon." Ryn greeted him, slightly different from how he was when it was just them two.
"Hello, Ryn." Gideon Mischievously smirked and continued,
"Just call me Grandpa Gideon."
Ryn furrowed his brows slightly, but he also didn't want his parents to notice.
"Ah! Where is the younger one, what was her name, Ell… Elly.." Gideon changed the topic, which made Ryn feel saved from embarrassment.
"Ah, you mean Ellysia. She is sleeping." Dastarn also jumped in, feeling that Ryn might be embarrassed.
Dastarn knew that his son hadn't acted like children of his age since he was young, but he sometimes also showed his childish side involuntarily.
However, when someone put him in a situation where they expected a childish reaction from him, that troubled Ryn and eventually upset him.
Dastarn didn't want that to happen.
"Let's eat now. The food will become cold if we wait more." Enara.
"Ah, yes. Thank you for the food lady Enara"
"Let's dig in then. Hand me the plate, son."
"Here you go father. Thanks for the food mom."
All that could be heard on the table was the munching sound of the food and full silent befall.
Until Dastarn felt responsible that he had to break the silence and make small talks with Gideon to break the awkwardness.
And so on went the lunch.
