Greer was holding yet another tournament.
He always does these things since he believes that they are “fun”.
This time, he tried to drag me to visit.
“Why?”
I asked with an almost disgusted look on my face.
“Why not is the question?”
Greer threw back my own words with cynicism mixed in.
“I don’t want to watch you beat up what is mostly thugs and other lowlifes”
“Well, if you’re there then there are bound to be people who’ll come to impress you right? So that means real warriors will
come!!”
I really loathed Greer sometimes, but what do you expect from a bastard.
Despite how I feel about him, he is one of the only people I acknowledge.
“What benefits can I actually gain from this? You are my sparring partner. I already know you’ll win”
“Don’t worry, this time I’ll spread the news far and wide. This way, you won’t be bored by the usual fights”
“We should be focusing on the report we received on the demon’s castle. That might actually be worth our time”
“Hey it won’t hurt to show up and greet the people, will it?”
“You mean the ones trying to tear down the aristocracy? After all the decades, we spent protecting them and improving

their lives. They’re no longer grateful, just an unruly mob that wants more and more. . . On second thoughts, I’ll come. You
are technically apart of the nobles. Therefore, show them our power and their place”
My tongue slipped and I started to voice my frustrations.
But indeed, this was an opportunity, Greer will show them our power.
When the demons in the castle emerge as a problem, they’ll come begging to the nobles for help.
The King decided to give the commoners some opportunities and they have abused them.
When they have, a demon munching on their bones, they’ll see the light.
“Um . . . whatever works I guess. I’ll do my best to win”
“Don’t you always?”
Greer disappointed me when he said that there would be anyone decent.
He defeated his opponent easily for the finale.
But it seems he’s disappointed as well.
He called out to the crowd for more challengers.
He even offered more money.
As a result, they scurried to the field like vermin.
And they were treated as such, Greer blew them all away.
But then. . .
Someone interesting actually came.
They used an interesting armor spell that granted them higher attack and speed.
The intricacies of this spell meant that this was someone actually worth watching.
Though they wore a hood and covered their mouth.
Maybe they’re a criminal or perhaps even an assassin?
Realizing this, I sent several disguised guards to the front of the crowd with magic neutralizers.
This won’t set a good precedent if you lose GREER.
Unfortunately, it looked like he would.
He went in to his rage form and actually started to fight.
He only used that when his life was in danger.
Is this your cry for help?
Once again, the individual used more lightning strikes.
Greer can’t possibly handle all these attacks.
This person is too strong, this is too suspicious.
By this point, Greer caught the challenger but loosened his grip for some reason.
He missed again and their hood finally fell.
Oh, it looks like his opponent is a girl.
Her long black hair spilled out to match her eyes. She seemed so graceful in her moves as if she loved fighting.
She used yet another lightning move, this time it affected the weather.
The sky turned dark and lightning struck her hand but she caught it.
There’s something unsettling about her.
Before I knew it, I noticed how fair she looked.
She must be a high-grade assassin with her looks and her power.
This means the guards are useless.
Greer and her leaped at each other.
But I noticed her using another spell secretly.
It was the one that emerged from the ground.
Greer was running straight in to a double attack.
Looks like I have to act now, Greer was already barely holding on.
