In the Burdant Village found somewhere in the Verdant Forest, Nirko was having another busy day.
It started with his morning physical training, which was followed by his morning routine and him then going to the village school where it was more of the same.
Once he was done getting ready, he adjusted his purple messish spiky hair with downward flow, his rose quartz pink eyes wondering over his clothes one last time to make sure it was all in order.
The white dress shirt he was wearing with along with the black simple linen shorts he had on, while his black boat shoes were but a complementary with the white socks he had on.
Inside a simple class with wooden seats and about enough space for around maybe 30 students, a rather full classroom could be found with kids of various ages, from kids who are 4 all the way to those who are 17 and in the cusp of becoming 18, at which point they are adults who get to working for the good of the village rather than go to school.
Such was the life in a closed off small village, everyone had to work for the community to thrive and survive. Those who didn't well… Such unsightly topics aren't suited for a classroom with such young children.
The class was going on as usual and there was nothing worth even noting about it from Nirko's perspective at least.
At the front of the class stood a lanky man with brown hair looking to be around his twenties doing the part of the teacher.
"So, these are addition and subtraction kids, if you can't get through this then multiplication and division will be the real headache." The teacher said a smile on his face as he happily taught the students, but his gaze would keep wandering towards a girl at the back, around Nirko's age.
This also caused the purple haired boy to look at her as he followed the line of sight of the teacher.
(Oh, it's that girl… Genely, she's not even paying attention at all, not like I'm one to talk.) Nirko thought to himself as he tended to meditate to recover from his morning training rather than pay any attention to these boring lessons.
The teacher moved on to multiplication and made the students repeat after him.
"10 times 1 is 10. 10 times 2 is 20. 10 times 3 is 30. 10 times 4 is 40. 10 times 5 is 50. 10 times 6 is 60. 10 times 7 is 70. 10 times 8 is 80. 10 times 9 is 90. 10 times 10 is 100." The kids said following his lead, though it was mostly the younger ones doing so.
However out of the younger kids, two of them weren't bothering, Nirko and Genely, who were both more focused on their own thoughts to bother listening to the teacher.
Soon the teacher posed a problem on the board, 2 x 3 + 40 = ?, a simple question that rested on the board.
"It's 46, teacher. This is boring can't we do something harder?" One of the older kids asked and this got the attention of older students in the class as they looked at the teacher expectant.
"That's… I mean, I'm following what I'm supposed to be teaching you here as the village head decided, and we can't just disrespect what she says, kids." The teacher turned to the students as he replies feeling a bit cornered by their request.
"Hmph! This sucks! We don't even really learn anything at all!" The student irritated responded.
"If you insist… Then something a bit harder won't hurt too much…. I'll do it in a bit." The teacher faced with such insistence sighed then turned to the board.
As the boring lesson continued and Nirko was busy meditating, the teacher posed harder question and the students were either struggling to answer or completely uninterested, so he turned his attention to Genely, who was looking out of one of the three windows in the classroom.
"Since nobody seems to know the answer, Genely, please solve it." The teacher insisted with a smile and an expectant expression as he was clearly hopeful of her.
The problem in the board was: A small village has 78 kilograms of grain stored for the winter.
There are 5 families in the village, and each family is expected to receive an equal share of the grain.
However, the village elders have decreed that 3 kilograms must be set aside for the village priest as a tithe.
How many kilograms of grain does each family receive, and how much grain is left after distributing it?
The girl, Genely, looked at the board for a bit and with an emotionless smile she responded. "The village has 78 kilograms of grain. If they have to set 3 aside for the priest, that leaves 75 kilograms. Then since there are 5 families to divide it evenly, you just have to give each 15 kilograms. That leaves no leftover grain."
There was no hesitation or pauses in her speech, she just calmly responded with her emotionless smile. It was almost uncanny.
(This is all easy, but she really is smart compared to the rest… If a bit creepy.) Nirko thought as it caught his attention from his meditation.
[A child like her… She has a good aptitude for magic. If she was born to a better family she would have become a great mage.] Aeonis comments noticing his interest in the girl.
(Is that so? What a pity. It's like they say, luck is a skill as well, and I'm at the peak of mine. I hope Genely someday finds hers.) Nirko sighed internally at the disappointing reality of things.
[Who knows? Maybe she's already found her luck, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes clear.] Aeonis commented a bit of a mischievous tone to her voice.
(Yeah, maybe…) Nirko rolled his eyes and pretended not to understand what she was implying.
From there, the lesson continued and not much else took place, so he focused on meditation to recover from his fatigue, and improve his meditation skill through proficiency.
Like magic, skills were a core element of the world and had a lot to them. They were part of the special powers that individuals could use, like particularities, superpowers, special abilities, and traits.
However the focus for Nirko was skills, which just like particularities resided in the soul, the difference being that skill were just linked to his soul, while particularities were a part of the soul on a much deeper level.
While reincarnation would erase skills from an individual, particularities could not be removed in such a way.
Just like with particularities, there was a limit to how many skills a person's soul can handle before being overwhelmed.
In terms of types, there are 4 main types of skills. First, Job or class related skills which are the ones that have to do with jobs and classes. Second, Active skills which are the skills with a cost to their action and a need for activation.
Third, Passive skills which are the ones that are automatically active at all times, and have no need for activation or an a cost to them.
Finally, there are unique skills which are abilities that are personal and unique to the user so long as they live, and under normal conditions they are the only ones who have such a skill.
After that, Nirko started his afternoon physical training. While he worked with his parents and sisters on the crops and maintaining their house.
The day was like many others and there was nothing special about it, so it continued.
At night, came dinner and more meditation before the late night physical training, and sleep.
Things didn't change for a long time as Nirko unfortunately had rare affinities, so he could not use magic despite all the work he put him, but that didn't matter much as his physical body was not neglected and he planned to make the most of it until he could use magic.
For now only non elemental magic was within his grasp and was something he planned for after he fully established himself in the village so he can sneak into a secluded place to practice magic, since right now it would be problematic if he used any magic.
His days were spent in that same cycle, as he made a name for himself in the village due to his strength, and smarts something that made him very popular among the people of the village as he would be a great asset once he became an adult, and could do actual work other than just helping on the side.
Nirko's familiarity with the world grew each day, and he felt more at home there. As well as closer to his new family finally having a real home after so long.
Sitting on the wooden fence around the crops, Nirko watched over the fields as the sun bathed him. A small smile on his face as he did his part, but there seemed to be something on his mind.
"Funny, now that I can live a normal life happily and in a simple way with my family, I want to leave and see the world… The one thing I wanted to escape from back then. I guess that's human nature, to want what you can't have…" He mused about the irony of his goal to go around the new world to become more powerful, so he can later come back to truly relax.
[It's fair of you, after all, you've seen first hand what happens when you are not strong enough to protect what matters most.] Aeonis reminded him not to make him feel bad, but to validate his goals.
This made the purple haired boy nod in agreement as he could never allow himself to fail in being strong enough when it matters, and that's why he trains every single day without fail.
"Nirko! Come here!" Amora called her son with a yelling his name with a hint of urgency, a rather common occurrence.
"I'm coming!" Nirko yelled back and made his way to her,.
Inside their wooden house, in the kitchen, Amora could be found busy cooking a vegetable stew.
"Go call, Millie and Sera, lunch will be ready soon. They should be somewhere around the playground with the other kids." Amora ordered as she focused on her task at hand.
"Got it." Nirko nodded and went to go get them.
The trip through the village only serving as a reminder of its small size and caging presence as the people here would live their whole lives without seeing even the glimpses of the outside, beyond the nearby woods.
However the people didn't seem all to unhappy as everyday Nirko was greeted with smiles and warmth, something he didn't know was because they didn't know there was more to want or because they were genuinely content with what they had now.
"Hey! Nirko! How are you doing, son?" A lady asked him as she saw him pass.
"Good, I hope things are still going great there as well." He smiled as he replied and continued walking.
"If it's not the village's little monster, I can't imagine how strong you'll be when you grow up."
"Such a little cutie, maybe you want to meet my daughter, she's definitely the prettiest girl here, and she's smart too."
"Look at you? Going to fetch your sisters again? I saw them go to the playground earlier."
"Kid, it hurts to ask, but you're way too strong, help me out real quick, will ya?"
Throughout his way many people greeted him, and asked him for something or just tried to get on his good since as by now he was well known in the village for being stronger than most adult men who didn't go hunting.
So, that made him popular as the village was vastly dependent of physical labor to sustain itself. Hunting, carrying heavy things, working heavy tools, farming in intensive heat, protecting the village from animals, monsters, magical beasts and outsiders.
Soon, he got to the playground which was just a decent part of the village with empty space good enough for kid games, running around, and playing some sorts that didn't require much.
In there, kids playing catch, pretend, and some other games could be found in a few groups.
Amidst that, there were two girls. One with short blue hair, and the other with medium red hair, who looked quite alike in terms of features playing together with a few other kids.

Those were Millie, and Sera, respectively. Nirko's sister who were quite busy at the moment, as they tried to win a game of knight versus monster, didn't even notice he was there at all watching them.
"You're here for your sisters, right?" A familiar voice came from the side and it made him turn his head.
There he found a girl around his age with long black hair in curls that went all the way to her waist, and brown eyes that carried the hue of dirt. She was wearing a simple dark blue almost grayish long peasant dress that hugged her petite and flat body in a natural way, making her almost look like a cute doll.
Her feet accompanied by bailarina sandals the same color of her dress.
"Genely?… Hi… Yeah, I'm here to get them. Anyway, you aren't playing with the other kids?" Nirko asked forcing a smile upon seeing her.
This caused the oddly emotionless looking girl to shake her while looking at him, only to turn to watch the other kids playing.
There was some silence but before Nirko could say anything she spoke.
"You're pretty weird you, know. You like to talk like you're not one of the kids, and I can't even tell if it's just because you want to act grown up, or because you really believe you're one. It's odd because I tend to be pretty good at reading people." Genely turned to him again, her smile with no happiness behind it only adding to her doll look.
"Am I? I guess. It's probably because I work a lot with my parents, sometimes I forget I'm just like the others." Maintaining the fake smile, Nirko responded to her.
A sigh left Genely's mouth as she sat down on the grass, properly adjusting her dress's skirt as she did so.
"True, you're he strongest boy at the village aside from hunters, and you're pretty smart too. I'm sure the village head will marry you off to one of prettiest smartest girl. Maybe even me since we're about the same age." She commented casually as she watched the other kids play around.
This remark caused Nirko to raise an eyebrow, while it was not exactly wrong, it was not something he expected to hear from her.
Joining her by sitting next to her, Nirko said. "That's a possible, but who knows what the village head is thinking? She's always so stuck up, so it's probably right. Still it doesn't answer my question."
Another bout of silence came about, and it was again broken by her.
"The others won't want to play with you much after you figure out how to win the games you can win, then they say you're weird and don't want to play the games you can't win with you either. I guess we're both weird." Genely answered looking him in the eyes with her emotionless smile and not blinking for a while as she did.
(She's unsettling… It's not fun to be excluded like that though.) Nirko found himself thinking as he forced his smile further.
"Yeah, we are. Maybe we should be weird together sometime." He suggested turning his forced smile into a real one as he looked at her.
"Ok. That would be nice. Though I have to say, you should stop forcing your smile, you're not very good at it, and it looks creepy when you do. Your real smiles are much more nicer." She said to him and her expression didn't change at all through her words.
(How rude… Oh well, that explains a bit, but I think maybe I should invite her to lunch, it would maybe make my sisters get along with her. It would be a nice way to get her few friends. It's never good to be lonely… Even when you're alone.) He thought to himself and decided while looking at her.
"Huh?… I'll keep that in mind. By the It would be if you could come-" Nirko was about to invite her to lunch at his house, but was interrupted before he could.
"Nicky!" He heard a voice call out towards him.
"What are you doing here?! And why are you with the weird girl, Nicky?!" Another voice followed right after the first one.
These were very familiar voices as he turned around to find Millie and Sera.
Millie had a short fluff of blue short hair that reached her neck with bangs, and burning starlet eyes reminiscent of actual flames. She was wearing a red short sun dress, and some red loafers.
While Sera had long straight red hair that reach her lower back, and turquoise eyes carrying a marine feel to them. She was wearing a white blouse and a blue circle skirt at knee length with some brown sandals.
"Don't be rude, she's Genely. As for why I'm here, it's pretty obvious, I'm here to get you two for lunch. Mom's calling you girls." Nirko rolled his eyes as he got up and replied looking at them with reprimand for what was said.
"Nice, I was getting hungry and tired anyway. Let's just go." Millie responded a smile forming on her face as she seemed excited about lunch.
"No! We can't just go. He still didn't tell us why he's with the weir-… Her!?" Sera on the other hand crossed her arms with her left eyebrow at him her expression demanding justification.
"I don't know about that, I don't want to argue with Nicky? He gets scary when we argue. Let's just go eat." Millie sighed in a sluggish manner feeling heavy just from thinking about all the trouble.
"Hmph! I'm not going until you tell me! As your sister I have to protect you from weird girls. You're probably going to become a hunter, and that means a lot for the family, so you can't just get with any girl." Sera pointed at him with her flat chest puffed out and her arms still crossed, the confidence exuding from her was almost admirable.
This caused Nirko to narrow his eyes as he looked at his sister.
(What got into her head today? Was she always over protective like this? I don't think so… Oh, well, I have to deal with it regardless.) He rolled his eyes, sighing internally at his sister's antics.
"I see, so that's how you see me. It's not a surprise but I'm surprised you actually said it." Genely's expression remained the same and she didn't seem mad at all.
Such a response caused Sera to blush as she realized what she did, but by no means did it stop her.
Quite the opposite as she walked to to Genely and then.
"It doesn't matter! I'll still protect Nicky! He's too nice to odd people with no friends like you, so I'll keep my eyes on you for him!" As Sera was face to face with the girl, she made her stance clear and narrowed her at the doll-like girl.
"Hehehehe! It's been a while since someone made me laugh, thank you. I don't know if you just genuinely love your brother that much or if you see him as more than a brother, and I don't care.
"I'm not after him in anyway, and I won't be unless the village head pairs us together once we're grown, so relax." Genely didn't seem bothered in the slightest rather giggling at her words, and breaking her deadpan face with a smile for once, before immediately going back to her emotionless expression.
"What are you talking about?! Of course he's my brother! So, you better not bother him! Hmph! Millie, let's go." Sera was red from the words said to her, and quickly took off with her sister.
This left Nirko and Genely to watch them go. While the other kids continued to play not paying a lick of attention to them.
"That girl's unbelievable… I'm sorry for that." Nirko rubbed his forehead with an awkward smile.
"Don't worry, it's expected a popular guy like you would attract competition even if I don't make any advances at you. Though I didn't expect your own sister to be the one to do this. You must be more charming than you seem." Genely shook her head then spoke calmly.
(Sera? Really? I never really saw the wincest as a real path… Nah, she's probably just reading into things that aren't there. Maybe she has the same kind of tastes as me. That would be nice.) Nirko thought to himself quite happy at the thought.
[Hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think anyone has quite the same tastes as you… You're pretty… Huh… Open-minded for a lack of a better term.] Aeonis responded her voice carrying a hint of hesitance.
"…. I'll pretend you didn't say that. Anyway, would you like to eat lunch with my family? We always have leftovers and in thought it could be nice, what do you say?" Nirko offered with a smile as he looked at her.
"This act will probably only further solidify the idea of us as a couple in people's minds, but that's a bad thing, as a possible hunter, you're a fairly great choice if anything. So, yes, let's go." Genely replied her emotionless expression forming into a softer smile for a bit before going back to normal.
From there Nirko accompanied her to his house, and along the way he began thinking about what she said.
(To leave this place the way I want without causing trouble or a rift with my family, first I'll have to become a hunter then the head of this village, if I keep this up it should be possible by the time I'm 18, if a bit later, but not too much.) Nirko thought about the solution he had found his current main problem.
In preparing to leave this place one day, Nirko keep learning more about the world from Aeonis.
One of the things he learned about was the currency of this world, which was not used in the Burdant village as they didn't use money at all, being an isolated village with a community-based economy who relied on substance farming and bartering, they didn't really need it.
However in the outside world, there was money, so he learned about it. This world had copper coin, bronze coin which is 100 times a copper coin, silver coin which is 100 times a bronze coin, gold coin which is 100 times a silver coin, platinum coin which is 1000 times a gold coin, and four other high end coin types that only high nobility and royalty ever used.
Each coin time was further divided into 4 levels of importance or value, which are: normal coin, large coin, high coin and star coin.
For example: Copper coin, Large copper coin which is 10 times a copper coin, high copper coin which is 20 times a copper coin, and star copper coins which is 50 times a copper coin, and this was for each and every coin type.
This knowledge and much more was studied by Nirko, who spent his days training his physical skills such as meditation, mana manipulation, mana circuit, mana core, and even his elven language skill, though the last was mostly just inevitable.
Once they got to Nirko's house, both of them looked rather awkward about going inside for what could be assumed to be different reasons, as he just realized what this might look like, while she was well aware and anxious about the whole thing.
(Damn it! What am I doing? This will definitely spark unnecessary conversation, but it's not like I can avoid them at all… Such is the fate of a young person. I should have been ready.) Nirko internally facepalmed upon realizing the image this might pass on, but there was nothing he could do about it, so he would simply endure.
Inside, the whole family was seated at the table, already, his 4 sisters and his parents all there seemingly waiting for his presence.
"Huh?! What is that weirdo doing here?!" Sera frowned looking at the girl that just came in with her brother in slight disbelief, it was one thing to entertain the girl, but to bring her home, to their parents? Why?!
"Ohhhh! Wow, wow, wow." Millie on the other hand was much less frustrated, and much more intrigued by the events unfolding right before her.
The other sisters didn't seem to mind much, mostly just keeping to themselves with no additional moves, just focusing on dinner.
However, that didn't stop the inevitable from taking place, as soon as Nirko's parents, both noticed that he had company, like mischievous little demons, crackling smiles formed on their faces as they looked at the two like their fate was sealed the moment they stepped foot into the house together.
(This doesn't look good at all…) Nirko forced a smile despite doing a little bit inside.
"Would you look at that?! Hahahaha! It looks like the house's little man decided to start growing up a little earlier." Loralaine seemed to be having fun making such a comment with a full-on smug as she looked at her son.
"Don't be like that! Our dear boy is just being a little gentleman! Don't embarrass him in front of his little missy." Amora stepped on Loralaine's foot under the table's cover, and smiled as she spoke unaware that her 'saving' was part of the problem.
(Kill me!…. I can't believe I'm getting the teenage experience all over again… I'm not even a teen yet… Urgghh….) Nirko scratched his head with a slight blush, though his embarrassment was very different from what the other person in question was feeling.
"Ahem! Of course. Hi! Kiddo, so who's the little one with you?" Loralaine asked with a forced smile pushing through the pain of her wife's aggressive stomp.
"Oh don't be silly, dear. That's little Genely, how nice to see you two get along, and already so close! I should definitely make more food to celebrate this properly." Amora said, speaking as if she could already see the two kids all grown up and getting married.
"… Yeah… Like Mom said, this is Genely, and we got along, so I invited her to have dinner with us, I hope that's not a problem" Nirko was almost stunned by the attitude displayed but he managed to push through and speak relatively calmly.
"Greetings! It's my pleasure to meet you all, even though Nirko has said nothing about any of you so far, I would be interested in discovering for myself." Genely bowed slightly with an expression just as blank as ever.
If one had to question, maybe she truly wasn't embarrassed by the situation at all, which would only be another moment of her calm demeanor at work.
"Of course she's welcome! What kind of parents would stop the process of their prodigious son like that?" Loralaine still had a wide smug as she spoke clearly proud of the 'talent' her son demonstrated.
"Yes! You're welcome to join us, sweetie, take a seat, both of you. There's plenty of food for everyone." Amora once again stepped on her husband's foot while looking completely inconspicuous about it.
"But Mom! She's a-" Sera frowned and was just about to complain.
"No buts! She's a guest so be nice!" Amora immediately said.
"Thank you, Miss and Mister." Genely smiled ever so slightly, as she spoke.
"Wonderful, I see the rumors do you no justice. Don't allow such things to bother you, if they do, you can come to me." Amora seemed to be very fond of the doll girl instantly.
"I agree, it's sad that such a polite girl has to deal with people being too much." Loralaine nodded.
This slightly widened Genely's smile and she nodded seeming much happier than before.
(Nice! That's perfect… Though I don't know if they are a little too nice, but that's beside the point, Well played.) Nirko internally gave his parents the thumbs up.
Thus Nirko, and Genely took their own seats at the table, and everyone began eating together leaving out the rest and just enjoying the food.
"So, how long have you and Nirko been friends?" Loralaine asked curiously, and Amora while trying to seem uninterested started listening.
"It's really not all that long…" Nirko wanting to avoid giving the actual answer just said that.
"Today. I pretty much didn't know him at all aside from seeing him in class until today." Genely on the other hand just gave it simple and clean.
"Hahahahaha! I guess my son really is something else. Hahaha!" Loralaine just started laughing.
"Ahem! I guess I'll need to have a few conversations with you, Nirky. I guess apples really don't fall far from the three." Amora sighed after she spoke, giving her son a bit of a look.
(You don't have to give me that, look, Mom, it's a bit much) Nirko sighed internally.
From then on, the dinner was nice and calm, and then it was time to go home, so Nirko with support from his parents decided to accompany Genely home.
Once they were both outside, making their way there.
"You're pretty popular with my parents, it seems." Nirko commented as they are walking through the moonlit village.
"They seemed to think I'm your girlfriend or at least possible girlfriend, so it's only natural they didn't to ruin your chances from their perspective at least." Genely responded calmly as they walked, her expression the same as ever.
"Jeez, you make it hard to have conversation, you know that." Nirko raised an eyebrow not knowing what to say anymore.
"I don't like the games people usually play in communication but if a pretty straightforward guy like you says that, it's probably true. I'll try to work on it." Genely actually smiled for a bit before going back to her non expression.
(She would be cute if she wasn't uncomfortable, but then again, I think I'm getting used to it.) Nirko smiled back at her while he thought.
As they reached her house, Genely turned to Nirko and hugged him tightly.
"Huh…." He who didn't expect this was a little loss on what to do.
"Thanks for talking to me, and inviting me, and now bringing me home. You didn't have to. Normally, I would think you're only doing this to try and win me over as a possible girlfriend, but I don't feel that from you. Not that I would mind it if I did, I just wouldn't thank you." Genely let go of him as she explained after thanking him.
"You really are a weird one, see you tomorrow." Nirko waved his hand and turned to leave.
"That makes you weirder for still wanting to be with me. Good night…" Genely retorted and went inside her wooden house.
"I guess it won't hurt to have some friends." Nirko thought as he made his way home.
[Look at you, all cute with her. Just so you know you won't be able to farm affinity like that when it comes.] Aeonis said with a mischievous tone.
(Now that you mention it, I haven't really interacted with the Affinity meter.) Nirko relialized as he heard her.
[Oh, that's because you're not 18 yet. Once you become an adult the system will be fully activated, until then consider this parental control mode.] Aeonis explained.
"Of course it is…" Nirko sighed but couldn't help but smile thinking of the day, and his path ahead.
So long as he kept up his physical training and started his magic training, once he became 18, he would take over from here and make the world his oyster.
"Once I'm 18, I'll take the hunter trial, and I'll take this place and then everything else right after, one step at a time. No need to hurry." Looking at the moon above he felt the burning flames in him were only growing stronger each day, and he would use them to burn everything in his way.
The world would in time experience the rise of the Endless Lustful Ruler, Nirko Yogg Sutra Exianos. A man hellbent on craving his way, and giving the Celestials responsible for his Inept life, what they had coming from him.
This was the path of an Inept, The 69th Inept.
