Prologue 0.10: The Clouded Sun (final version)

OO̸̪̠̲̒̂-̸̰̻̆̊̄͒͐̄̓͆̓́̊̚nly when you are true to yourself, will you truly be free...

°

Illuminated dimly by blue light, the gloomy complexion of a man --a young man-- is shown as he reads the messages infront of him. He stands in a dark room, looking down an oblong desk filled with laminated binders dimly lit by the blue light, examining a tilted down computer screen floating over it.

He refrains from touching the 14 inch screen projected more specifically, from the brownish palpatating ball embeded in the desk. It displays red messages that swarm and stack randomly. Each message writen in a black giberish an viciously pleading for attention as the words dilate menancingly.

He grabs another stack of laminated binders and continues to pack them into a stretchy box.

--------------

With the last of my things packed, I pushes the cracked symbol; glowing on the top of the brown ball. With a shimmer of light, the balls veins turn a pale blue and thendissapear.

It is dark but I know this place like the back of my hand. With closed eyes I walk to the window behind and close its shutters, turning, walking to where my box is and heaving it off the ground, stepping towards to the only door in the room; swallowing hard, and slowly turning the knob.

I open my eyes and is greeted by the old boring office on the other side. Its blue pretentious ceiling lights sicken me... Filled with even more sickening people sitting inside white cubicles neatly organized in rows. Every eye falls on me as I walk out.

The newly integrated helpers of the workplace; orb-like machines folded in plates of jagged metal, roll freely inbetween the cubicles. Carefully, the machines videotape the irritated glare of every employee falling on me as they work their fingers on their keyboards.

Looking around for something to ease my tired gaze on before I leave this Godoz forsaken place. My eyes suddenly find the familiar form of a bald soldier-looking worker leaning next to my door, adjusting the collar of his office shirt and towering a few inches over me. The bald man watches my workers like a falcon waiting to pluck its prey.

"Fucking robits, right?" The man says as he notices me.

"Yeah…" I respond quietly to the closest I ever had to a friend and move to the elevator door of the office, down the cursed cubicle-hall. Even when avoiding the rolling machines on the floor they suddenly become aware of me and examine me inch by inch. One rolls up the wall of a cubicle --sticking on the wall-- quietly displaying a screen. A red screen. I don't dare look, knowing full well my life here is over the moment my legs reach the elevator.

My steps suddenly slow to a halt, and my eyes fall back on my friend; realizing the man had one of those weird days where he would rather see me go in silence than try to stop me and give one of his 'recruitings'.

How to forget my friend's shinanigans by now? By this point a business card would be shoved in my face while my pal gave me a militia's call for arms, parading heroic poses in the office and occasionally crying of sorrow, all while standing on a little wooden box from inventory... His little show was the only source of leisure in this queasy office and his friend knew it.

I resumed walking once again. It was my fault afterall, for hiding the fact that it was my last day on the job...

The sanitated chloric smell of the elevator hit me, as I stepped inside and looked out from its metal doors one last time, at an office I had once called home.

"Take an opportunity, Eugiene." His friend stood proud and strong on the entrance of the cubicle hall just a few feet from the elevator. slowly, he parted his lips into his usual dumb grin before the elevator hissed close.

(Maybe one day, big guy...) It should probably take my buddy a few hours before he finds the note he left him. (I just hope he doesn't take it the wrong way), I thought and pushed the cracked botton with a door simbol leading to the lowest floor of the building.

The air conditioner purred to life the moment the elevator began its decent, spilling out cold air at a rapid pace that allmost seemed alive as it curled up inside his bones. For a moment, he felt like his skin had been peeled back and his bare muscles ecased in ice.

(For godoz...it's chilli today. Are they serious?) He looked at the vent in the ceiling and then glared at the camera on the far-right corner of the elevator. (I just hope the elevator doesn't 'accidentally' stop for whatever the shit reason.) He stared at the camera for a few minutes and hn everything seemed in order he then relaxed a bit. Even with the cold, it was still peaceful.

Closing my black jacket for comfort, I rubbed my tired eyes and exhaled slowly.

(Am I doing the right thing?)

Letting my Imagination run wild, I visualized... My form stood on the mightiest precipice of the tallest of mountains. It was a rocky cliff overlooking lush green mountains broothing with life and forests as far as the eye could see. The birds chirped. The rivers twinkled with the promise of life, adventure and hardship... All I ever wanted.

I shook my head and the image blurred away. Turning away from the reflective door, I instead gazed at the see-through glass behind me. Far, far into the twinkling billboards of the city. Far, far out to the illuminated buildings and the trains entering and leaving them through the holes inside the buildings.

°

It was the year: 1.18LK. The first circle of the Gornols calendar.

Most of earth was blocked away while grom 105 sectors...only 1- 5 were at peace. Wars were frickle things of the past. Poverty had long been sweeped under the rug. Disease had vanished from the 15% of the planet.

Robits walked among the advanced elite and fed them and took care of them. Criminals were taken to never be seen again. Capitalism was the word and the people were the liseners.

Utopia dominated the 5 sectors. Ignorance ruled the masses as the elite lived alongside the great technologies that separated man from what the governors if the 15% called varmint, filty, disgusting beings that lived in the other lower sectors.

That was until today...as god gave released his last breath...and a cold machine pulled his dying body from the throne and took his place.

°

In his mind Eugiene silently mapped out the route he would take to the airport, as he watched hundreds of smoothly designed magnetic trains travel all along the rails leading from skyscraper to skyscraper.

Each rail was constructed on waterproofed bridges made rare metals that made most of the transportation of the 5 sectors. On the bellies of these bridges and alongside their legs, insulated steel tubes coated with gold were fastened. The tubes were designed to transport water and food safely. A engenious way to trasport small deliveries the most efficient way.

Each train was light up by small bulbs of various blue and green lights on their sides as workers decorated the bridges for the new year.

All this kinda reminded Eugiene of chrismas...as he played an old tune he had found burried in his company files. It was called: Chrismas Eve... Not that Eugiene knew what the words meant.

°

The elevator's swirling engines died. The automatic door opened and the clicking of high heels were the only indication that someone had entered at all...that was until the steps were followed closely by the smell of peaches and roses. I instictively stopped from turning to the source of the smell and kept to myself and my musings, as I waited for the atomated ding that would sound when my destination was reached. The need to get out expanded in my heart and my hands began to slightly clench in the tension.

There was much to think. What I'm planning to do needed at least that... Instead, I watched the balls of light closely knitted together in the sky.

(Whatever happened to the sun?)

°

Far above the window Eugiene was looking out of. Far above the clouds and the chilling winds, and the vast atmosphere. At the center of the solar system, a golden sun was wrapped in a deep brooding darkness. It took only a moment for dark tentacles to form out of the dark cloud and lower down to touch the corona of the sun.

With a colossal smack, the tentacle threw itself back and then smashed through the violent fiery inferno on the surface of the star. The fires around the smack died out as huge waves of blakening magma catapulted into space.

The tip of the dark tentacle slowly burrowed down the cooling magma as it penetrated down the thick lava currents of the mantle, into the liquid magma of the outer core of the sun and finally into the heavy inner core.

Standing a few thousand times bigger than the earth, the engorging tentacle stood in a dying pool if magma just infront of the concentrated destruction of the core of the sun.

The core pulsed and began releasing pure waves of massive radiation and heat as it felt the intrusive presence of the tentacle. Each mounstrous wave abated the spreading corruption of the tentacles but not for long

The tentacles reached critical mass and suddenly the inner core of the sun turned into a cold solid. Only a little tunnel of brigtly liquid magma survived. The tentacle shot through the liquid mama left and touched the very core of the sun.

Like a glass panel the space around the sun cracked. Each piece separated by web like patters that ended in thunder fisures. The cracks expanded rappidly and spread all over the universe.

The dark clouds around the dead sun began to spin faster around it.

All stars, big and small died and then the space around it cracked. From the cracks, shimmering liquid of various colors began to seep out. Sorrounding the stars. Disappearing into a growing darkness.

The expansion reached all corners of existence...but one oblivious planet.

°

A few minutes of silence had passed when the person next to him poked his shoulder.

He looked over.

His heart almost stopped when his eyes layed on the source of the touch.

A beutiful girl was leaning next to him.

SheO̸̪̠̲̒̂-̸̰̻̆̊̄͒͐̄̓͆̓́̊̚s̴̡̢̱̒͆̄͒̾̚͝ĺ̶̩̺͕̠̦̮͕̯̞̩͔̮͆͗̌̈́̈́̐̈̀̈̃̕͠ had sugary brown eyes as sweet and focused as honey. Hidden slightly by her fiery silky hair. She had that youthful spark. Looking more like a high school brat who decided this was the best place to hang out.

Her rubbed his hands as he felt the cold air that had (Isn't she cold?) He looked at her mini skirt with a raised eyebrow. The corners of her mouth raised a little.

"So, you too?" The voice was sweet and drizzled with a pinch of softness and curiosity.

"What do you mean?" he asked and tore his gaze away. Laying his eyes instead on the sharp circuitry markings on the doors of the elevator.

"Com'on don't tell me you never heard it. ~GGGGGiving out low prices to you toooday. Better call us and see us toooday. Dodle do do da!~ I know. Its better in the ad." Her voice was like a slow swarm of energy. Like music to his ears.

"I'm sorry. I never heard of it." He told her.

"Really? Well, nice to meet you. My name is Roda." She raised her hand and held a card in front of his face.

"Thank you," he said and yook the card. "Well, nice...to meet you, Roda. My name is Eugine. And no. I'm sadly not going to work there." He said tired.

"Well, that is a shame. What I don't get is why you want another card then...?"

He looked down at his box, as he figured his co-worker had dipped a 'recruiting' card in his stuff while he was distracted.

Behind the image of his long-gone hamster, was a card. A blue card. The blue card was just like the one he had taken.

"Are you by any chance from Mest?" Roda said, as she visibly relaxed a bit more on the wall.

"What is Mest?"

"You don't have to hide it. You are no doubt one of those big brain suck-ups. No offense, I believe I heard your name quite a few times."

As much as it should, the news weren't a shocker. The whole building hated him since he came here. Much of this hate came from how sloppily he did his job. There had not been a day he wondered how he received the position in the first place.

"Oh, so that is the name of my job?" He said a bit embarrased.

She rolled her eyes to him and gave him a sweet smile. A little laugh scaped her lips as she responded. "Any one can tell Eugenie, even I can see it and most of the time I'm clueless you kno-" the elevator cut her off as it dinged and with a tzzz, the door whizzed opened to reveal a tidy reception.

Mantled desks holding plates of bundled food and Bluemountain drinks huddled the reception room. Each decoration swooped his attention and gave the place a feeling of home.

"...Well, see you at the new department, Eugeniiiee." She came over to him and put her lips next to his ear. "Call me if ya ever want a position over there..." her voice had alluding undertones, as she slid a neat piece of paper in his jacket. She patted the pocket and walked away. He could feel the quickening beatings of his heart pound on his chest, as the entrance door of the skyscraper opened. And a few seconds later, she almost seemed like a dream.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

With a slow exhalation, he closed his sleepy eyes and let out a tired sigh. "Peach..." he remembered the scent and extended his hand to stop the closing elevator doors from shutting on him. "Roda..." He said her name and rolled the o in his tounge. (I might just call her. Wait...thats...WOW. She is so young and she is president of the company?"

He made sure to tuck in the piece of paper as securely to his jacket as he could and then began walking to the cause of his stress. The exit of the skyscraper.

He would have walked out the door and left but he had something left to do.

In the middle of the round reception room. A wooden round desk stood as the main attraction, alongside the girl sitting there. Organizing papers. An auburn-haired cutie, wrapped in a green v-neck polka dots flutter-sleeve with calm cocoa-colored eyes, and full cheeks accentuating her shy blushed skin. Wrapped up for the day. The beautiful receptionist waved at him from her desk with aO̸̪̠̲̒̂-̸̰̻̤̭̹̫͔̆̊̄͒͐̄̓͆̓́̊̚p̴̨̨̯͖͖͍̦̓̾͊͊͑̆̽̄̈́͘d̴̛̤̭̙͛́̔̀̚ų̸̛̙̪̘̻̜̭͇̫́͊͑̈̇̔͜͠ͅs̴̡̢̱̒͆̄͒̾̚͝ĺ̶̩̺͕̠̦̮͕̯̞̩͔̮͆͗̌̈́̈́̐̈̀̈̃̕͠ô̴ bright smile, and he waved back as he walked infront of her desk.

"I will miss you bubby, you know…" the receptionist said. "Who will bring me flowers everyday and ask me out on dates?" Her dazzling smile became eclipsed by her half closed eyes, as she looked gloomily back at her desk.

"Hahahaha. It's not like I'm going to war, Leila.'' He responded and stepped closer to the desk. "Here, something to remember me by." He brought out a heap of papers out of his little box.

"Really?" Leyli's head tilted and her eyes softened. A lazy smile overtook her lips.

"Just kiddin."

She gasped, "you meany!" And did a cute pout with her crossed arms below her modest chest. He took the papers back into the box and rather put the picture of his hamster on her table.

Leyli's eyes slightly opened. She carefully took the picture frame in between her hands. "Oh, poor Meraud," she lamented. Meraud had been the hamster in the photo but he had lost him in the park a long time ago... Both of them had searched for his hamster but never found him. A few days later, she had helped him make a funeral with a tiny coffin.

"Are you sure I can have this?"

(Who else would he give it to?)

"No," he admitted. "But, I wouldn't want anyone else to have it."

"Oh, Eugiene." Leily put down the picture frame and walked around her desk to hug him. "Please, please be safe, and stay true to yourself bubby." She smelled like spring flowers. And the aroma wanted him to stay here. To stay here and never leave her...but he knew she didn't look at him that way. It was not a secret. He still tried to win her over and she knew it. That is why she didn't have another man...but now that he was leaving...who knows what would happen.

"Always." Both later gave their goodbyes.

O̸̪̠̲̒̂s̴̡̱̒͆̄͒̾̚͝ĺ̶̩̺͕̠̦̮͕̯̞̩͔̮͆͗̌̈́̈́̐̈̀̈̃̕͠O̸̴̡̢̱̒̂̒͆̄͒̾̚͝ĺ̶̩̺͕̠̦̮͕̯̞̩͔͆͗̌̈́̈́̐̈̀̈̃̕͠

They parted, and eventually he dared to stand in front of the great wooden exit door. It was an old door with cracks all over it. He looked at it afraid, oh, terrified. The prospect of leaving the comfort of his rich life hurt him physically as even him could barely believe he was actually leaving this place.

The desire to crawl back in his apartment and eat the tart he left in the freezer, and watch immersive tv, and sleep in his electronic bed but where would that lead him? Not a second to waste. Rush hour was around the corner. Gatta get those travel donuts.

With a strengthening certainty, he moved each of his steps with purpose. (Well, here goes nothin.) Each step was a torture as his mind screamed at him to turn back. Only when he finally took a step outside the entrance of his home, his work, his life, his family...into a busy street did he feel…(free.).

The sidewalk had these blue metalic edges that reflected the night lights of the city. He was incront of the main square of sector 1. A big area the size of a football field filled with walking robits and people alike. Each side of the square had chlothing stores and the greatest restaurants in the world.

He walked to the middle of the sidewalk in the direction of the square and spread his arms wide. The wind blew on his face and the cold embraced his skin. People walking the street looked at him with wrinkled eyes as they walked around his open arms but he didn't care.

It had been the greatest day of his life. A day to start his yourney and leave the safety of society to persue his goals and dreams. It was supposed to bring adventure so he could truly live.

He would have lived...but then it all happened.

[Hi, what is your name?]

From the shadows. From the very darkness of the world it crawled on him and took his freedom.

...

He spun around. "Who said that?... Who's asking? Hello?"

Women walked along the street with their pets or boyfriends. Some were alone on their phones, sitting in the benches along the street, waiting for their pets. But none of these women were looking at him or asking for his name.

(Maybe it was his imagination…)

He blinked and suddenly he was under a bright light. An infinite darkness sorrounded him. It only took him a second to realize he was under one of the strange errant cones of light cascading from the sun. He looked at the odd star shining on their sky. A misty star, nearly completely gulped by darkness but battling like a lion to give him some of its light.

The ecene was almost biblical. He had freed himself from his wealth, his family, his country to persue himself... Until the sun's rays decided to be a dick and elevate its brightness to a scorching inferno. A blinding white light singed his eyes and made him writtle in agony. He fell to his knees. "OH, MY EYES!!!!" An awful pain stabbed his retinas. He tried to rub the irritation out but the pain jept coming and coming.

[What is your name?]

[O̸̪̠̲̒̂-̸̰̻̤̭̹̫͔̆̊̄͒͐̄̓͆̓́̊̚p̴̨̨̯͖͖͍̦̓̾͊͊͑̆̽̄̈́͘d̴̛̤̭̙͛́̔̀̚ų̸̛̙̪̘̻̜̭͇̫́͊͑̈̇̔͜͠ͅs̴̡̢̱̒͆̄͒̾̚͝ĺ̶̩̺͕̠̦̮͕̯̞̩͔̮͆͗̌̈́̈́̐̈̀̈̃̕͠ô̴͖

(AAAAAAHH!)̸͂̅̓̎̈́̆͐͊̈̇͠

Left completely blind by the sudden pulse of overwhelming light, he could only hear as the people near him became anxious with fear.

"Did someone hear that?" What sounded like a kid asked. "WHAT THE FUCK!" A man squealed in agony. "Who wants my name!?" "Someone call the polilic!" "Everyone fallow me!" "Grandpa? GRANPA?!" "Please godoz. Have mercy on our souls!" "Some call the disiplinary." "Free guns. Free guns for sell. Be prepared in the apocalyptic!"

"Help me! I'm blind!" he screamed, but the people around him didn't care. In their desperation they crashed into him and tumbled him down to the ground. "STOP!" He yelled as people began running over his downed body.

°

With a rippling momentum, the sector became a cautic mess of steps and screeches. Packed with the accumulated cacophony of voices rising in alarm.

Eugiene was still on the ground being stepped on.

On other news, people were disapearing in flashes of blue light.

"STOP FUCKING ASKING FOR MY NAME!" A screech cut into the cacophony but was rapidly swallowed by the heightening racquet. People were beggining to smash the nearby stores and use the opportunity to kill old grudges. The singing robit, acting as the main entertainer of the square. Squealed in agony like a dying rabbit and tumble down her stage. "Bey Clauuuddeee!!!" A large crowd of her fans grouped in the middle of the square blurted out and ran to the shoulders of their families with tears in their eyes.

Encircled by a respectful crowd abating the growing current of panicking people, the entrails of the robit sat as a crumple of steel, carbon fiberglass, and a combination of an unknown liquid suspension over soft rubber.

The material pulsed and from the crumpled pile, tiny chubby men began to materialize. In a second, the crowd were indivisible from the panicking swarms.

A screen with blue edges and glowing metallic words popped in front of him. (Who..? What…? What is this?)

A sharp pain stabbed him on his side. Its prickling ascended like a snake from the base of his stomach and flowed up his chest.

The growing discomfort in his eyes and body pulsed as he opened his eye lids. What greeted him was a pure darkness. And then an ominous light manifested round him.

Starting from around his stomach. A red glow began to encircle him until there was a nice halo. The windows of the skyscrapers touching the sky like fingers were suddenly spilling out the ominous bloody light from the windows.

Eveything was illuminated by this sick red as the halos materialized around everyone. Even those running around or killing others stopped in their tracks.

A low rumbling came from the sky. He looked up and couldn't see the little balls of light flocked around their little section in the sky.

A second halo began to form around the first one. A blue sharp, and then a third halo with strange symbols and yellow hue. The next ones became more complicated: A fourth halo : magenta with a bigger set of strange symbols. A fifth halo: glowing rock brown with sparkling edges. A sixth halo: bright white that illuminated the whole sector in an instant. A seventh halo: black smog with crimson goo. An eight halo and the biggest one: a concentrated circle of warm fire finishing the set on of rings.

The red halo closest to his stomach began to expand and then the millions of halos around the sector all shattered at once... It was like a glass bomb had been shattered on top of all of them. Followed by a little pop in his ears.

No one dared to move, as the other halos faded into nothing and the sector was plunged back into the pitch-black darkness.

"Mommy, I'm scared..." A kid said with a trembling voice in the distance. In an instant, the wave of fear came back to life like a tide. The throngs of people in the streets began to scream like crazed pigeons.

He wanted to scream too but his chest was suddenly squeezed. It started as a mild pain that slowly gripped his heart by the base and squeezed upwards. Wanting to hurl his stomach out on the ground, a growing irritation and heat began dissipating through his body. With a push, the pressure in his stomach built like a heat pump, and the more it built...the faster a wave of liquid hatred flooded his chest.

Kill them all! Leave no one alive...

The scorching energy injected blasts of liquid fury. Each shot bloated his frame to the point he felt his bones would shoot out of his body. It wasn't until he could feel his head almost implode when a cold in his veins, running down his spine, coiled around the base of his stomach and sat on the growing heat. Squishing the hate alongside the discomfort out of his mouth.

A refreshing gust of peace spread in him.

The lights in the sector turned on again. In a instant, the sector was illuminated by an enhanced brightness. Even so, his body tumbled around. Almost unconsious from the waves of cold massaging each muscle fiber.

A shove shook him from his half-awake state, as a petite girl in a sundress tried to push him away and fell instead. The girl quickly scrambled weakly away, as she looked at his stumbling body with a tremble in her lips. Her eyes locked on his and then fell to his side.

He glanced with tired eyes at what she was looking at.

...Red claws with sharp black tips formed over the normal nails of his left hand. The head of his fingers glowed slightly, as strange purple veins superimposed themselves on his palm. Inky, viny veins that spread slowly into his forearms and twisted like snakes on his bones. Each branching set of vessels covered the full length of his arm.

"HELP!" The girl shouted meekly but noisy enough for the scared people around the two to train their eyes on him. (She could not be serious!)

Right now, Eugieme stood in the middle of a frozen crowd. Just above his head was a golden tittle rectangular screen floating in the air. It said: | Fox lvl5 |

"Please, don't say it," he whispered and began steping back. He saw no mercy in her eyes.

"Monster."

The moment he heard the word, he turned around and began to speed away towards the chaotic square. He dodged the frantic crowds running all around the place. As he ran away groups of people all around him began to gang up on others and slice their throaths with daggers or other objects at their disposal. There were bloody fights all over the place with the winner lotting their opponets stuff in their pockets.

He jumped over an old man kneeling over a man in expensive furs. Stabbing the screaming man in the eye with a fork.

It was madness.

It actually socked him that the local siren hadn't blasted off to the four winds. As they had been specifically designed in case the sectors fell to revelion or terrorism. He couldn't be sure what, or who had caused this blackout or this much killing. But he knew that the screen he saw pop from thin air, a bit ago, had to be responsible. This had to be the work of aliens or something else.

It didn't take long for a bunch of people to start following him, as he ran to godoz knows where.

The swarms if people in the square wailed like rabid animals. Scooting away from various flashes of blue lights blooming around them.

Just as he was running into the middle of the square. A group of people infront of him, strangling each other, glowed blue and the next moment he ran through a cloud of blue light. He almost fell down in shock.

(OH, SHIT! FUCK THIS!)

Turning down a steep intersection on the edges of the square. He hurried down into the waiting doors of the nearest store.

It was a chlothing store with a futuristic palete of metalic colors covering the walls. Brightened completely with modern green lights and filled with jackets and shirts hanging on wooden plates nailed to the walls.

"DON'T FUCKING FOLLOW ME, HE IS MINE." A thick voice from outside the clothing store shouted.

He didn't find a place to hide. So he moved inside one of the hollow scanners flanking the sides of the store's automatic door.

He nearly toppled over the scanner when the loud beeping sound of the cone-like metal detectors blared to life. In a second, what seemed to be a hoard of people tumbled inside the reception room.

"FUCK YOU COCK SUCKER. I KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. HE IS MINE!" Said a man.

"THE VOID LIGHT SWORD WILL RULE THE WORLD." Said another man with indignation.

"SHUT UP REN! HURRY UP OR THEY WILL TAKE HIM!" A girl shouted.

"LET ME IN!" He heard the groans of a girl.

Luckily, these scanners were corner built and perfect for a person to lie low inside. He certainly didn't have the balls to sneak around in the presence of this arguing crowd.

Silently, he tried to plan his escape while his tailers took turns to scream at each other.

"FUCKING STOP THAT FUCKING JOCK! WE CAN'T LET SOMEONE LIKE HIM BECOME THE MAIN CHARACTER." The heavy voice of a man shouted out.

Keeping himself close to the ground. He scanned for a vent or something he could safely hide inside.

"THE MAIN CHARACTER? THE FUCK IS YOU TALKING ABOOUT FAT BASTARD!" The snappy voice of a woman screamed.

(There must be something here to distract them.) He began touching around the floor for something, anything.

"SHUT UP!" The man with the thick voice screamed.

Metal clang against the hard floor, as they turned over the clothing racks in the store in search of him.

"IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU. YOU WILL GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE FUTURE RUL-" The next moment, he heard a nearby desk crack in two, followed by a single unevenly high moan of pain.

"YOU THINK YOURSELF A RULER!? A RULER YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!?"

MOTHER FUCKER. FUCK OFF!" "GET THE FUCK OFF ME!" A boy with a high-pitched voice howled.

"I KNEW IT. YOU ARE A VILLAIN! FUCKING, NERD FUCK!"" The deep voice of a man dripping with hatred howled.

His heart began pounding rapidly and his legs began shaking. He could feel his breaths become uneven and his head hurting.

"LISTEN UP NUMBSKULLS! I WILL KILL HIM! WHOEVER DOES NOT LIKE THAT, I WILL RIP THEIR HEADS OFF AND STUFF IT IN THEIR ASS! YOU HEAR ME!?"

The sudden realization dawned on him. (They are not trying to capture him. They are going to kill him like all those people dying outside!)

He had to do something, and it had to be soon.
