Volume 1 Chapter 98

Before falling asleep, Ali checked the prompt. The last couple of days had been pretty hectic so he had been putting it off. He realized that, to unlock Qeday’s full potential, he had to know her abilities better.

Qeday was pretty good at describing her abilities. Her metallic object construction seems especially hard to level up if killing foes is needed and the user has no control whatsoever. I hope that she gets XP whenever I get a kill by sending her object flying.

As Ali readied himself for bed, he heard Belen whispering his name. The teenager turned to her.

“What?” he whispered back.

“I spoke to Miniya earlier today and she told me that there’s a better home for my ice monkey. Do you want to take him in so he can be useful?”

“Take your ice monkey…?”

Ali couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He couldn’t see himself ever parting ways with Tian, Mika or even Qeday because they formed a bond that only grew stronger over time. The idea of abandoning or giving away one’s summonee seemed so absurd.

“Please!” said Belen before she turned to see if she woke up the others.

The two of them conversed more on the topic, making sure they kept to a whisper. Understanding the situation, Ali accepted the request. This was for the best of both Belen and the ice monkey. The former didn’t have to feel guilty about not using her summoning spell while the latter should have a chance to appear more. After he nodded his head, he felt Belen’s hand on his. A tingling later, he gained a new ability that he hoped would aid him in the future.

“Thank you, Ali. Take good care of him!”

Belen then laid down and turned away from Ali. The teenager had to calm the conflicting emotions inside of him before he too could lie down. This wasn’t how he envisioned his night would end but he was finally falling asleep. Once he closed his eyes, he was ready to greet the newest addition to his team.

“You’re here, Ali!” Qeday charged head first into Ali’s chest. “Did you meet our newest addition? I didn’t know a person could have four summonees but here you are achieving the seemingly impossible!”

Ali gave Qeday a quick pat on the head. The whelp was very affectionate and got along with everyone as long as combat wasn’t involved. While it was imperative for him to train with Qeday, he also couldn’t ignore the ice monkey.

“Where is the new addition?” asked Ali after he looked around.

“He’s getting accustomed to the summoner realm. I showed him where the rest of us made our living quarters and he’s working on it right now. I think he will be a great addition to your team!”

Living quarters?

Thinking carefully on the matter, the teenager realized that he had no clue what happened to his summonees when they weren’t needed. He assumed they were giving a space but apparently that wasn’t the case. He made a mental note to check on those living quarters in the future. He also found Qeday's positivity to be contagious. He never met Belen's ice monkey except for that one battle which didn't even give him a chance to have first impression on the summonee.

“I’m sure I’ll meet him later,” said Ali as he gestured to the tall pillar nearby. “Let’s get some training done so we have more teamwork during combat.”

Qeday didn’t hide her displeasure at the mention of training but the whelp didn’t complain this time. She led the way and started making a single spear with the magical metallic dust that was in huge abundance in the summoner realm. Ali had yet to figure out the source of the metallic dust.

I wonder if Tian or Mika spoke to her. Seems like she realized how dire the situation was and has committed more of their time and energy into training. As for the ice monkey, we’ll see what can be done.
