FOREWORD

When I first started writing this story, I never thought that it would be big enough to fill two whole volumes. At the same time, I was getting a feel about a lot of things I wanted to get established storewide, such as the geography, politics, mythology, lore, magic, and all the concepts that make up a new world with new understanding. Then when I started working on the second book I realized that a lot of my original concepts from the first part were outdated since I had already made new leaps and ideas that interconnected to the story as whole, giving rise to a whole new mythos. I also wanted this to be a story that involved more action but really it’s more of a mystery as the world we know is similar and yet so different from our own that there was so much to establish. It was like comparing a 30 minute pilot for sitcoms to a 1 hour pilot of a drama series. You gotta find the right balance of action and intrigue to try and keep people interested. It’s one of the things I learned from my theater and film script writing courses at my old university. I hope this 1 hour pilot gets people a taste of what the world is and how things might develop in the near future.
