Chapter 48

The silence was crashing in around Vince and he let a scream escape his lungs. “You all shut up!” he shouted at them as tears ran down his face.

Chris bent down and laid a hand on his shoulder for comfort, but he shoved it off with such force that it pushed her back a couple feet. She looked into his face and saw the alterations made which frightened her. Instead of tears for Mykella, now she was shedding tears for Vince.

“What’ve you become,” she asked herself in a voice too low for anyone to hear.

Vince looked down at his dead daughter with a rage he had never felt possible before. He looked down and saw the charges of electricity bouncing off his hands and he realized that Orion’s powers had definitely gone into him. He remembered just before taking Orion’s life, that he would never let Orion make him into an instrument of evil. And now, here he is with that power.

And he liked it.

He looked up into the confused faces of the Dreamkillers and formed a familiar smile and laid Mykella’s body on the floor and stood up.

The Dreamkillers dropped to their knees and bowed their monstrous heads to their new master.
