Chapter 21
Story of delmany Warrymn
Leofin had been taken back to the house of Ivan, where he had been left with Ivan’s grandmother. He had been forced to leave by Mystcot because he wanted Leofin to be safe from war. And of course, it was Ivan’s idea to let him be with his grandmother.
The elderly lady was happy to have some company especially whom she knew and who admired her and her ways of living. Leofin looked as usual but as soon as Ivan was gone, Leofin was in tears.
The elderly lady consoled him.
“But I was told to be a warren Warrymn by the…”
“By the!”
“Dimensioner.”
“Oh him, you see, he is a good being but the world existed even before he came, even before warren Warrymn.”
“I get it.”
“Of course, you are a clever boy. It was neither elves nor humans who crossed each other’s territory but it was there before and none was courageous enough to cross. Many other races also existed.”
“Yes.”
“And many delmany Warrymns too. Humans used to live in tribes and for every tribe there used to be a delmany Warrymn, powerful enough to protect the tribe.”
“But the time came when beings of other realms came to fight ours, annihilate ours. The delmany Warrymn were not enough to overtake them, then there was a need for something else, and that is when warren Warrymn overtook. But the delmany Warrymns still hold power.”
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
“Okay.”
“So let me tell you a secret. Ivan is going to be the delmany Warrymn and you are to make sure it happens.”
“B-But how me a-and why me?”
“The power of any being is emphasized by faith and for that people should believe, you should believe. If I wanted I could have made him the delmany Warrymn of all human tribes but I wanted him to be soldier, to respect the power of a sword and what? He is successful, so am I.”
“But yes, what has it got to do with me?”
“Nothing Leofin. The thing is I am about to die and I need someone to carry away this sword of mine to Ivan, to carry the blessings to him, hope you will be successful and will not cheat.”
“Yes, but why didn’t you do it before.”
“Like I said, I want him to find it out himself. The sword I shall leave will be the oldest of old and has to be taken care utterly.”
“But the dimensioner told…”
“Dimensioner! Yes that’s him on one side and forgers on other. He is one among all but there existed a world before Dimensioner came, a world unhindered. Stand up Leofin.”
Leofin who had been sitting on one of the chair stood. The grandmother took a sword from her mattress and said Leofin, “Kneel”
Leofin did so, as he was asked to do so.
“Do you Leofin, the yet to be warren Warrymn, a friend to my affinity, promise to hold the sword of delmany Warrymn and to take to the next one Ivan.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Then, hence rise Leofin, the carrier, take the sword to your friend and grant my blessings.”
The grandma touched the blunt end of the sword to Leofin’s hand and left the hilt. Leofin balanced the sword and looked at it gasping with his mouth open. The sword was such thin that even if a thousand sword of the same thickness was kept one on one, still its thickness couldn’t be measured. The sword was such thin that only the wielder of the sword could understand its strength. The sword was such sharp that it could even cut through the sharp edges of the other swords.
“But why now granny, why not…”
“Leofin, it is customary for a delmany Warrymn to be apprentice, then soldier, then to hold the sword, then to understand its value. Tell to Ivan that the sword will reveal everything in time and tell him I loved him and I love you too Leofin.”
“Maybe I should find one more patrol general to be apprenticed.”
“Ivan was such powerful that he could apparate. There is no one else in this village that could take you there but I have one last transformation left before I die.”
A portal opened to Leofin’s left and the grandmother of Ivan, the most powerful delmany Warrymn who held all the wizards and elves at bay was gone from that realm. She was to take her life to another realm.
Her boy started vanishing bit by bit and hence did her soul. Her body disintegrated part by part and in no time her body was not there. Not even a proof would be seen that there lived a body there because it had vanished into the realm.
Leofin was still on his knees and was crying. The only thing that meant family to him was the grandma. He had stayed with his parents to a good age in memories, which was done by the Dimensioner so that he could speak to his parents in dreams and they to teach him, but a mortal support was always ensured by this warrior.
The portal started diminishing and Leofin didn’t want the work done by the grandma to be for nothing. Hence he suddenly jumped into the portal and the portal closed behind his back.
He was standing in the graveyard just beside his father’s. Ivan was standing there alone. He seemed to be tensed and his blade was unsheathed and was in his hands.
Ivan shouted, “What have you done Leofin? Why are you here?”
