Chapter 42
Lilith entered the library to find Celeste and Wendel writing vigorously onto parchment. They were using their expensive enchanted pens that they usually kept on their person at all times. The ink seemed to be infused with magic and protected the paper it was on from tearing fading or withering in any way. Thus scrolls or spell books could last for a millennium if stored properly. But Lilith didn’t care about books or scrolls she had a very particular magical problem she needed help with.
“Hey Wendel how are the war preparations going?” She asked as she came around the corner now treading on the soft carpet of the library rather than the hard stone of the stairway.
“Good, we have 4 scrolls made already and we think we can make 4 more before the day is out.” He said pulling his pen off the parchment to talk.
“Are they all Fireball?” Lilith asked moving around the table to find an ottoman to sit on.
“Yes all except this one. It is meant to help defend the walls. You see Ice magic won’t damage the fortifications if they are say, battering at the gate.”
“Nice. But do you have a minute? I need to talk to you about spells and how to remove them from my codex.” Lilith asked fidgeting with her hands.
“Yes your codex I think you said it is kinda like a spell book that is built into your eyes.” Wendel said putting a hand on his chin.
“Ya, and there is a spell that is set to auto cast every day and I want to get rid of it.” she said with determination.
“That I can’t help you with. Celeste and I we memorize a limited set of spells every morning. Otherwise we keep just the spells we previously had. If we want to forget a spell we just stop focusing on it and its gone just like a bad memory.” Wendel explained
“Damn, so we memorize and store spells in totally different ways. I don’t have to do anything in the morning and I haven’t really hit a limit on how many spells I can store either.” Lilith said now with a hand on her chin mimicking Wendel.
“It might help if you talked to someone else who is an innate spellcaster, like devils and demons are.” Celeste said as she looked up from her scroll.
“Is there one in town?” Lilith asked
“Yes most elves can cast simple spells, even from a young age… well young for them. There is a Sun elf who lives nearby and is currently staying at the Silver Flood Inn. His name is Darfin. I can call him with Sending if you like, he advises the court on matters concerning elves and trade.” Wendel offered.
“Please do, this is really important. I don’t want this spell to stay with me any longer than it has to.” Lilith said with a nervous expression.
“Why what is it Lilith?” Celeste asked sounding concerned.
“You don’t want to know.” she said shaking her head side to side.
“Actually as a member of the Ducal court it is my duty to know especially when it comes to you Lilith.” Wendel said in a suddenly serious tone.
“Ok, I’ll tell you but you have to promise not to panic its not as bad as it sounds.” Lilith now had her head buried in her hands already regretting what was sure to come next.
“What is it Lilith out with it!” Wendel said in an annoyed tone.
“It’s called Summon Fiend.” She said looking up from her hands.
“Please tell me it hasn’t gone off yet and we have a chance to solve this tonight.” Wendel said with a bit of panic.
“Well it completed last night at midnight and will probably complete again tonight unless this Darfin guy can help me.” Lilith said looking a bit sheepish.
“So there is a fiend of some type other than you and Pencheska loose in the town?” Wendel said raising his voice.
“Oh heavens no its just resting in my closet.” Lilith said as if this explained everything.
“Lilith what is it? What did you summon?” he asked standing and placing both his hands on the desk.
“I didn’t summon anything. I created it. It came from me! I talked to it. Its just a harmless little danger noodle.” She said trying to avoid his gaze.
“What is it Lilith? In Common.” Wendel asked again, seeming to be almost out patience.
“Its a 10’ long poisonous snake from my world. But he is very polite.” she said while clasping her hands together.
“Polite, so you spoke to it?” Celeste asked.
“Yes and so did the golden dragon that was here earlier.”
“What?” Both Celeste and Wendel said at the same time.
“You had better just call Darfin first. I can explain this while he is on his way.” Lilith said her head now resting back in her hands.
Wendel did exactly that, he called Darfin and assured him that his skills were gravely needed inside the wizards tower in the library. Almost instantly the reply came back that he was on his way. Lilith then began explaining her conversation with Noodle One and her conversation with the gold dragon and the Gold dragon’s conversation with her black dress.
“So it follows your commands and has no will of its own?” Wendel asked seeming to have regained his composure.
“Not entirely I think it has a will of its own, but wanting to follow my commands is a very big part of it.” She said looking up from her hands.
“And its not evil?” Wendel asked in a stern voice.
“I don’t think so but how would I know for sure. Look if you really want to know, Celeste here can spend four days trying to be its friend and we can see what happens.” Lilith said with sarcasm while motioning toward her friend.
“Not funny Lils.” Celeste said with a bit of a pout.
“I’m sorry, I’m just a little upset. I didn’t want an interrogation over this and I had no choice in the matter.” Lilith outstretched a curled hand the fingers pointing back at herself.
“I think you had some say in what was summoned. You said it was a snake from your world, right?” Wendel asked as he held a hand to his chin.
“It wasn’t summoned it was created. It didn’t exist anywhere before it crawled out of my mouth last night” she said in an annoyed tone.
“Ewewew a snake? Out of your mouth?” Celeste said as her whole body shook in disgust.
“Ya it wasn’t fun.” Lilith said looking down at the floor.
Just then the doors were heard opening and then footsteps up the stairs.
“Thank god, maybe now I can see about getting rid of this spell.” Lilith said as she stood to greet their guest.
A tall man with golden blonde hair similar to Celeste's entered the room. But he could not be mistaken for any kin of hers. He was tall, thinly built, had a stern but young looking face and long pointed ears. His eyes were also a golden brown and seemed to shine more brightly than the lighting in the room would allow. “I came as soon as I could. Wendel, what seems to be the problem?”
“Please allow me to introduce my colleagues. This is my student, the wizard Celeste Baker. And this is Lilith of Devine, Defender of Daggerford. This is of course adviser to the court Darfin Floshin.” Wendel said motioning to each of them in turn.
Lilith went over to extend her hand to the elf but he recoiled slightly at the strange way she moved. Finally after looking at Wendel for a second he extended his hand and shook hers.
“I am sorry, I am the reason you have been called here today Darfin.” Lilith said while sitting back down on the ottoman.
“Please tell me its not about the tail, because I don’t know where to begin with that.” He said in a deadpan fashion while extending a hand in the general direction of her tail.
“No its a bit worse I am afraid. I can cast spells innately, and there is a type of spell codex that I can see behind my eyes. I have many spells stored there, one of them however is set to cast automatically at the stroke of midnight and I want to remove it from my codex. Do you have any idea how we can do that?” Lilith asked in as calm a manor as she could.
“You just want to forget a spell?”Darfin asked as if it was going to be a simple task.
“Yep.” Lilith nodded.
“Well that is easy you just move the spell to the trash can” he said as if he was speaking to a toddler.
“What trashcan?” Lilith asked
“Oh you don’t have one yet? Who taught you how to cast spells?” he asked seeming a bit perplexed.
“No one, I just kinda arrived in this body Six days ago.”
“Bit of bad luck then?” Darfin asked.
“It hasn’t been all bad.” Lilith said as she looked at Celeste and Wendel.
“Ok let me give you the magical runes to add a mental release for those entries. It just ends up looking like a trash can as that is how your mind interprets the function.” he said in a calm yet assertive voice.
“Oh please do.” Lilith nodded.
Darfin began teaching her the rune words and her codex acquired several new features. He insisted on giving her all the proper means and methods a wizard would use. This included tracking summoned creatures and tracking the time left on spells she had cast. He also gave her a way to track negative effects on ones self. Once all the rune words were spoken, and all the upgrades were complete, Lilith selected the spell Summon Fiend, and moved it to the trashcan. But it stayed in place and did not go away.
“Nope its still there.” Lilith said in a bit of a panic. She stood up and started pacing but almost tripped over her tail after turning back around for the first time.
“Hmmm is it currently being cast? I think you mentioned that.” Darfin asked.
“Yep, it should complete at midnight tonight in exactly 8 hours and 6 minutes.”
“Did the spell change color?”
“Yes it looks yellow now all the rest of them are blue.” Lilith confirmed
“Good that means it will be removed as soon as it is done casting.” Darfin sat forward and clapped his hands once at the good news.
“Well at least Noodle One will have some company” Lilith muttered to herself.
“Some company? What kind of spell is it that you were casting?” Darfin asked with a bit of curiosity.
“No need to worry about that Darfin. Thank you very much for your time. Here how much do I owe you for your efforts?” Wendel said as he began to walk Darfin down the stairs.
Lilith wondered just how good that elf’s hearing was but quickly changed her focus as the two men went down the stairs and out of sight. Lilith then slid her ottoman closer to Celeste before she leaned over, lowering her head to her level. “I am sorry for what I said.”
“I know, we shouldn’t have been pestering you like that, especially since you came to us for help. I will talk to Wendel about that later.”
“Thanks… So…. Do you want to come to my room and talk to a snake?” Lilith said while her head was still tilted at an odd angle
“Do you even have to ask?” Celeste shot back with a smile.
The two girls got up and went down the stairs getting to the bottom just after the doors had closed following Darfin’s departure. Wendel then looked up at his colleagues asking. “Where are you two off to?”

“To my room. I am going to introduce Celeste to Noodle One.” she said with a nod.
“Oh gods, is that what you named it?” Wendel said shaking his head while holding the bridge of his nose.
“Yep.” Lilith affirmed as the two of them exited through the double doors not looking back.
Celeste held Lilith's hand indicating that she was ready to jump with her to the castle. Once she took it, Lilith began to jump across the grass but decided to land next to Darfin as he was only a bit ahead of them.
“Thanks Darfin.” she said with a friendly wave before taking Celeste's hand again. He didn’t even get a chance to reply before the two girls disappeared up the hill, landing at the castle entrance.
Moving inside at a steady pace, Lilith and Celeste made their way to guest room number three and locking the door behind them.
“Hey Noodle. Where are you?” Lilith asked in a soft tone.
Out from under the closet door moved the black serpent. It approached Lilith and stood some 3’ tall to address her. “I am here Ms Devine. Oh you have another guest.”
“Yes this is my friend Celeste and you can speak out loud while she is here.” Lilith said as she moved her tail around so half of it was under the bed.
“Greetings golden one you are not as scary as the last guest who was here.”
“Oh do you like my hair?” Celeste asked kneeling down to his level.
“Yes your hair too.” he said
“Did the last guest give you their name?” Lilith asked now also kneeling down to his level.
“No but he tested me, tempted me, asked me to disobey your order. Told me to bite him, or he would break my back. I still declined and told him you would be angry if I was killed.”
“Did he say anything else?” she asked tilting her head down at him.
“He said I looked good in the dress, but I was just hiding there in the black one.”
Celeste let out a bark of laughter and then got herself under control.
“He then said he like me because I could follow orders so well and I accepted his praise gladly. Then he left with the other two who were not your guests.”
“Good you did very well today and I will reward you. Come here.” Lilith said as she extended her arm towards the snake and he climbed it and moved around her neck to perch with the rest of him draped over her shoulder like a scarf.
Lilith then went to her bed and sat on it with Celeste and they began talking about their strategy for tomorrow. They finally agreed on using fire spells because Lilith was immune to fire and ran some tests on what pact magic to do. Noodle listened intently from his perch on Lilith's shoulder and Celeste even played with his tail holding it or stroking his back when Lilith leaned closer.
“So it looks like I have enough pact energy to cast Polymorph and Dragon’s Breath on you for the next 48 hours. We can just put in a trigger to turn it on and off each time you do something, like put your mouth on your right wrist.” Lilith said while looking at the pact outcomes in her codex. She also noticed that her codex listed Noodle as being 8” away and pointed in the direction of his head.
“That should work. But when do you want to cast it?” Celeste asked.
“How about now?” Lilith said while raising her eye brows. Celeste turned towards her with a smile. “Ok here we go.” Lilith said as she began to read off the rune words for [Pact Magic].
They got the wording right on the first try and Celeste took the form of a Giant Eagle. Her body expanding until her head hit the ceiling 10’ in the air. She then brought her right wing up and nibbled on the end a few times till she found the right spot and returned to her normal size and shape in a puff of golden feathers.
Noodle One seemed to move around excitedly making figure eights on the bed and then moved over to Celeste's shoulder when she sat back down.
Celeste and Lilith then got the idea to try and cast spells on him but everything they tried that had to do with transformation or transmutation failed just like it did on Lilith. She did however successfully cast haste on him and he began moving around the room at what seemed like thirty miles per hour to Lilith's eyes.
Just then a knock came at the door and Noodle One was back on the bed and sitting tall at head level faster than Lilith could blink.
“Hello? its Kevin. Can I bother your ladyship for a while this evening.” A calm yet firm voice said from beyond the door.
“He is so weird.” Celeste said under her breath as she got up to unlock the door for Lilith.
“I think he is just used to being in really formal settings.” Lilith commented, as she stroked Noodle One to try and calm him down after his sprint around the room.
“Oh hello Celeste. May I…” Kevin said as Celeste opened the door and then shut it behind him. “Is that the telepathic snake you mentioned earlier? Where did it come from?”
“You don’t want to know.” both Lilith and Celeste said at the same time.
For his part Noodle One just sat still on the bed not advancing or hiding. Celeste plopped back on the bed and he again perched on her shoulder.
“He is friendly I see.” Kevin said while pouting his lips.
“What brings you here Kevin or did you miss me already.” Lilith said while fluttering her eyes in jest.
“I miss you more by the moment it seems but alas I came for your sake this time not mine. They have all the militia called up and in their gear and Sharl has them practicing formations in the Drill Field. I figured you would want to see it.” Kevin said while gesturing with his hands in an exaggerated fashion.
Lilith thought his efforts were wasted on her. All the formal speech just didn’t appeal to her. But he was right, she really did want to see all 100 of those spears in a phalanx formation.
“Celeste, you want to see this too right?” Lilith asked as she stood up next to the bed.
“Sure its always good to see Sharl in action.” she said hopping to her feet, the snake firmly grasping her neck as she moved.
“Noodle do you want to come?” Lilith asked.
“May I?” he said with surprise.
“Sure there is more to this world than just a closet and you will have to see it eventually.” Lilith said as she placed a single finger on his nose.
“I don’t know Lilith most people are afraid of snakes especially large ones…. Ahh I don’t mean you I mean like real snakes.” Celeste said with a lot of conflict in her voice when she realized how the plight of this snake and that of her friend were so interconnected.
“No you are exactly right I will just cast invisibility on him.” Lilith said as she pulled her sword out from under her bed.
“Then how will you….. never mind you could still see me when I was invisible too.” she said remembering what they had done the day before.
Lilith strapped on her sword and picked up Noodle One and draped him around her neck. She then cast invisibility on him and took Kevin by the hand. “Lead the way Saint Kevin.”
“No after you Ms. Devine” he said as he opened the door.
The four of them set out for the Drill Field Celeste and Kevin walking together as Lilith jumped ahead when she could find room. Noodle complained after the first jump asking “What was that?” But Lilith paid him no mind and kept moving until she was a good ways ahead of her friends and stopped to talk to him.
“That was a teleportation spell. As long as you are with me it will bring you along for the ride. It helps me move around more easily.”
“Yes lots of people looking at you they stop moving and form walls.” He said telepathically.
Lilith noticed that he understood the different environment between inside the room and outside without being told. ‘He has intelligence and a will of his own’ Lilith thought.
“Do you know what to do if we get separated?” she asked in a hushed voice.
“No please tell me.”
“Well if you can find Celeste or Kevin they should be able to help you find me. But otherwise try to make your way back to my room and hide there until I call for you.” Lilith looked behind her to spot Celeste and Kevin catching up.
“I can do that. But I will also stay on your shoulder I won’t leave.” the snake confirmed.
“That's a good boy.” Lilith said as she pet him behind the head. She then noticed his head was about the same size as a large house cat as the sensation seemed oddly familiar.
Kevin and Celeste soon caught up and they walked onto the edges of the Drill Field together, Lilith coiling up and shooting forward 15’ at a time.
There they could see the formation of 20 x 5 Heavy infantry with their splint mail armor, polished steel helmets and metal and wood composite shields. The long spears stood out most of all, the tips were 21’ feet high as held by the men. Then Sharl’s voice could be heard calling orders. The formation moved forward 10 paces then stopped. Then 20 paces to the right then stopped, a few men being corrected as needed. Then the call for ‘present arms’ sounded and the front 80 of the spears fell to horizontal. It looked like a line of sheer death. Metal spear tips gleaming in the evening sun in 4 interlocked rows like a porcupine made of men and metal. Then the call for one quarter advance sounded and they moved forward as a unit one step every two seconds, thrusting their spears at the same time. This continued for 10 minutes and when they ran out of room the formation just reversed and advanced in the opposite direction. Then there was a new call for refused flanks. Some of the back row in the center moved to the left and right to help bolster the defense at each end. They moved around in this formation for a while as well with the spears held vertical. At 6 o’clock a trumpet sounded and the men were called into two single file lines and they began to deposit their spears and shields into two separate carts at the end of the field and then head into their barracks to put away their armor. The militia had looked like a real army and everyone had put in their best effort, from the gear to the training, and the discipline of the individual men willing to work as a unit.
Once everyone was off the field Sharl had a talk with a few of the sergeants and then came over to see Lilith and Celeste.
Lilith wondered if he had seen Celeste or her from that distance.
“I think that went well. Those spears look quite formidable in a formation like that. Lilith you should be proud.” Kevin said as he saw Sharl approaching.
“I think the work of organizing the men is much more of an accomplishment.” she said while looking at the ground for a second.
“Ya what did you thing of those guys. It was a bit of a chore today but eventually they got it.” Sharl said as he drew within speaking distance.
“They looked good Sharl. I liked when they reversed direction all at once. I thought they were going to hit the crowd for a second.” Celeste said as she draped her arms around his waist in a hug attack.
“Well if we painted some of the townspeople green they might have done just that.” Sharl said with a laugh. “I think they are ready for a fight and they have a lot more confidence with that new gear.”
“It will work and I will be on the left flank tomorrow just to make sure.” Lilith said while rubbing her hair and messing it up a bit.
“So we will get to see some real fireworks tomorrow right Lilith” Kevin said as he patted her on the shoulder.
“Yes and I might be the target of some of those fire works too. But I am getting hungry where do yall want to go for dinner?” Lilith asked after trying not to oversell her magic.
“I’m sorry, Celeste and I have plans. We are going to the Lady Luck Tavern again. So you two have fun as well.”
“Bye Lils, bye Noodle, and you... behave yourself Kevin.” Celeste said as she was pulled away by Sharl her arms still locked around his waist. Lilith could hear Sharl ask a question of her as he left something like ‘who’s a Noodle?’ but her attention was soon drawn elsewhere.
“I am always well behaved. What is she worried about?” Kevin asked with a bit of confusion.
“She probably means don’t break any more furniture.” Lilith said with a snicker.
“I think you have been involved in more broken furniture than I have to be honest.” Kevin said pointing a finger at her.
“Ya but I have an excuse. I thought the tavern was under attack.” She said raising her nose up and flicking sand with her tail as they began to head away from the Drill Field.
“And what about that night stand in your room?” he asked.
“That was Noodle’s fault.”
“Was it? I am sorry Ms. Devine.” The snake replied.
“Ok we need to drop this guy off first, then go get dinner. Is there anywhere you had in mind?” Lilith asked in a soft tone.
“Oh… I was wondering if you would like to join Mother and I in the formal dining hall upstairs in the Castle.”
“I guess I can. but I will need to change clothes first.” Lilith said with a nod.
“Hmm can I watch?” Kevin gave her a sly smile that looked like all kinds of trouble.
“Sure why not.” Lilith said returning his gaze with the same smile.
“Wait...You aren’t afraid of having a man watch you as you undress?” he seemed surprised doing a double take and coming to a stop.
“Why would I be afraid of you? You think you can overpower me?” She asked while raising an eye brow. “Maybe I will let you?” Lilith knew what he wanted but wasn’t sure he knew what he was getting into. ‘Well, better to scare him off now before he invests too much in me.’ she figured.
“That would be for the best. I am a gentleman after all. Are you finally warming up to me?” he asked bumping his shoulder into hers as she had never stopped moving.
“Yes, I couldn’t let all that hard work you have been putting in to impress me go to waste.” she said with a smile.
“There you go with that kindness.” he smiled back.
“Once you get a full look at me I’m not so sure I will be doing you any sort of kindness.”
“Well, I will be the judge of that.”
Lilith smiled fully at Kevin as they approached the Castle entryway. Their eyes continued the conversation as the guards waved them in.
Entering the guest hall she stopped a door short and took Noodle One off from her shoulders, placing him on the ground.
“I don’t think anyone is using this room. You can have that bed all to yourself tonight. If anyone does disturb you just hide in the closet or under the bed. But please stay in this room.” She said calmly to a completely invisible snake.
“As you say Ms. Devine.” Noodle One said as he went under the door and disappeared. Lilith canceled the spell once he was fully inside and before they continued on to her room.
She entered first swinging her body around to allow room for Kevin to enter as well. He seemed hesitant at first but closed the door behind him. While he looked over the room she retrieved the key from the non broken night stand and locked the door.

Lilith then began to get undressed, taking off her Holy Symbol and then her armor, followed lastly by her arming jacket. As she undid the last button on the jacket the weight of her breasts pushed it open with a start before she wiggled her shoulders out of the arm loops to drop it behind her. With one hand she casually tossed it to the side where it landed next to her armor. Her breasts now fully exposed moved with every step she took. The large round shapes were punctuated by crimson nipples a few shades darker than her hair. She walked past Kevin towards the head of her bed pushing the jacket and her armor under it and out of the way with one foot as she looked back at him. Kevin seemed to be stunned at the sight of her. He just stood there moth slightly open as she could see his eyes taking in the view. Deciding not to say anything she tried to move towards to the head of her bed. She planned to lounge on it for a bit perhaps tease him a bit more but she didn’t make it that far. He grabbed her, placing both arms around her tightly, pulling her into his embrace. Now it was her turn to be stunned. In his arms she felt something a tug at her heart a new feeling that she hadn’t felt before. The emotion was confusing its newness leaving her unable to fully process it in the moment. This was what he had warned her about. The consequences to undressing in front of a man. She could see something in his eyes like he was waiting for something from her. A signal, a word just the faintest motion from her was all he would need. So she brought her moth forward their lips met with a firm sound as his right hand went behind her head while his left remained on her exposed hips.
Lilith pulled back ending the kiss her eyes staring into his as she tried to process the emotions and intentions in her own mind. She had never been attracted to guys before and she still didn’t think she was. After all she had intended to try and scare him off this evening. But now there was this new… feeling that had her confused. Still not understanding it she pushed the feeling away calming her heart and focusing on what she needed to do.
Meanwhile Kevin had a very satisfied smile on his face. Seeing her take a deep breath he gave her a moment before their lips met again. His hands began to move, sliding across her skin, one going down her neck the other going up from her waist the two of them meeting at her breasts. Eagerly he began to squeeze them as if he was kneading bread. Lilith loved the sensation but was being distracted by the overwhelming smell. Pulling her head away she brought out her tongue licking his face from his chin to just below his eye. Seeing him blink as a reflex she stopped and pressed her nose to his. Kevin’s hands finally relented as he began to cast off his clothing first the vest then his shirt underneath. Lilith helping with the bottom buttons while he worked the top. Her red hair now in his face Kevin reached for her hands helping her finished the last button on his shirt before he threw it aside as well.
Then his pants came off much more quickly, with just three metal buttons in the front. Then his underwear came off with it as he bent over briefly before standing up strait again his hands returning to her sides. Now both of them stood there, completely in the nude, pressed against each other, their toned bodies exerting equal force as their hands raced across each other's skin. Lilith sniffing his neck and shoulder as her hair tickled his chest. They then fell onto the bed, him landing on top. But Lilith could not fit on it fully her tail catching on the edge. She struggled to get it to the side pushing with her legs to hold herself as she lifted its bulk to her right and onto the bed. Then he lifted her again by the armpits putting her further into the middle of the bed where he soon followed.
Kevin now straddling her waist, lay on top of her fully, kissing her once again. His mouth moved from her lips to her neck and then her right shoulder as the hair on her neck stood up with a chill. His hands now teasing her nipples as they became more and more erect with the pleasure. Lilith let out a soft moan as she began to draw her hands across his back feeling his muscles move as he sprawled across her. She ran her hands down to his buttocks next and squeezed them, pulling him across her thigh to her left. She could now feel a distinct firm pressure on her left leg from his member as well as a bit of moisture from it. She gave him an expectant look causing Kevin to begin a search with one hand between her legs for what he was looking for. Lilith shook her head ‘no’ causing him to speak his first word in what seemed like forever. “What?” he asked in a soft voice.
“Lower” she said softly trying to suppress a laugh.
Kevin worked his hand down finding her tail. He then pulled it closer to it centering it between her legs. Then he arched his back slightly as his hand continued searching lower. As he reached between her knees he looked at her again with a confused expression.
“Much lower.” she said giggling this time. Lilith then sat up on her rear pulling more of her tail onto the bed. Nearly the full length of her dark green belly scales were on display between her legs. She just sat there in silence watching him trace her belly scales lower and lower until he got to the end of her, where the tail got narrower. There he found a fold where he pushed his thumb in to explore it.
Lilith let out a yelp as he did so. Keven then looked up with a disgusted face saying “Lilith! There is sand in here!” now holding up a newly wet digit, rubbing his thumb and forefinger together.
“Ya, I was moving on those dirt roads all day.” she said still stifling a laugh.
“I can’t do this! Its just so … just so..” Kevin was beyond rational thought at this point he was horny and disgusted and confused all at the same time.
“Inhuman?” Lilith offered.
“Yes! Its like part of a snake.” he said pointing his hand back at her tail.
“I was wondering when you would realize that.” Lilith said as she laughed in full this time.
“Yes quite foolish of me….Heh. Ha. Ha. You even tried to warn me last night. Stupid me, I saw you using the restroom and still didn’t put two and two together. Yes have your laugh.”
“No I wasn’t laughing at you. I was laughing at the ridiculous state I am in. Keven, you made a valiant effort. A truly noble endeavor to treat me like I was human. But I am not.” she said putting a hand on his shoulder.
“I see but I….”
“You have feelings for me?” Kevin nodded his head as he crawled closer to her. “I do too but I don’t want to hurt you.” Lilith took his hands the two of them now on their knees straddling her tail on the middle of the bed. “I have spent the past seven days coming to grips with the fact that I am not who I used to be, but the hardest part was getting used to not being human. Realizing that some parts of what I wanted in my life simply can’t be.” she said shaking her head slightly.
“But I don’t care. These feelings I have for you are real.” Kevin said with genuine passion.
“After the effort you put in tonight I am inclined to believe you. But that doesn’t mean that I am good for you in return. You are going to be Duke of this town some day and you need a proper wife to have an heir.” Lilith placed her hands on his shoulders as they collapsed to her right both of them laying on their sides, their foreheads touching.
“I know what you are saying, but it is my life. I get to choose the path I take.” he said trying to find his confidence again.
“But you have a duty to this town and to your family. Would you leave them without a worthy leader.”
“I don’t know what the future holds, I just want to spend it with you.” he said looking up at her.
“But I couldn’t live with that, seeing the harm that I would do to you. I couldn’t. I wouldn’t be happy seeing your potential wasted on me.” Lilith bumped her head against his with that last word.

“So then what do we do?” Kevin asked looking up at Lilith.
“We enjoy the time that we have. But when it is time for me to leave, don’t follow. Just think of me fondly without regrets.” She bonked his head with hers again.
“How do you know you are going to leave?” he asked looking up at her.
“Lathander has a plan for me. And while it might have begun here in Daggerford I don’t think it will end here.” she said with confidence.
“What has he told you?” Kevin asked with increased interest.
“He has told me that I am his agent and that I am not alone. He also told me that he chose me for a reason.” she said with a smile
“Well I chose you for a reason too.” Kevin said placing a hand on her cheek.
“I know, come here.” Lilith pulled Kevin into her chest hugging his head and began playing with his hair.
“What do you want to do tonight? My mother is probably waiting for us upstairs.” he said, his voice half muffled her breasts.
“Well I am craving bacon cheeseburgers again, but I will settle for whatever I am served. Then we can take a bath and fall asleep in each others arms.”
“Heh. I could fall asleep just like this.” He said shifting his face in deeper.
“That's the spirit now lets get going or I am gong to lick you again.” she said as she licked her lips.
“Oh please no. That was weird… Do I really taste that good to you?”
“Its strange, the more virtuous and kind hearted a person is the better they taste.” Lilith said holding his head at arms length to look into his eyes.
“I will take that as a yes then.” Kevin said pushing away to start untangling his legs from hers.
“Ok, get your pants on. I am going to wear that white and red dress. I don’t think your mother has seen it yet.” Lilith said as she slid to the edge of the bed where her feet could reach the floor.
Then they both got up and got dressed for dinner. Kevin had to help Lilith with some of the buttons on the back of her dress but otherwise it was uneventful. Lilith put her Holy Symbol back on before she picked up the two new bras she had made for Lady Morwen. Walking to the staff hallway they took the stairs up to the second floor. Looking around Lilith was amazed at the lush carpet and glowing crystals on the walls giving the hallways on this level a richer feel. There were portraits and tapestries hanging but unlike the ones from her world these ones contained the forms of many different races. Elves, Orcs, Dragon and Dwarves were all shown in various scenes. Some meeting for an important treaty while others met on a field of battle. Soon they approached a room in the middle of this floor where Kevin stood taking a few deep breaths as if to prepare himself for what lie ahead. He then pushed the intricately decorated doors open holding one to the side as Lilith entered.
