First Target

Huge swathes of blue spiralled in the air, converging towards a single object that floated high above the vast ocean that occupied the space. The dense aura of suppression released by this object forced everything around it to bow down to its majesty, it demanded such a response.

The grandeur and regality it held enforced the order of the natural hierarchy, it was superior to all on an existential level.

Not a single particle, whether it be the air or the God Essence, dared to reject the authority of this object except the being that sat directly underneath it.

Sat upright on a weathered, stone throne was a peculiar being, the source of the peculiarity being its fish head. Two large, beady eyes focused upon scenes displayed by the illusory screen floating in front of it whilst its protruding mouth formed an O shape, creating quite a comical sight.

Despite how amusing its focused expression looked on its fish head, the strength contained within the form of this peculiar constantly radiated out, spilling into the surroundings letting all those who were able to see this scene that it was not a creature to be looked down upon.

A dense set of cerulean scales populated the upper regions of its body. It trailed down the length of its physique, slowly decreasing in number leaving the slippery skin of its abdominal area uncovered.

Wrapped around its waists was a simple loincloth, white colour, which hid from the world the creature;'s reproductive organs. This was the only article of clothing this creature seemed to possess as its sleek but muscular legs, which like its abdomen were without the protection of its tough scales, trailed out of the white of its loincloth.

With these features, the creature's body still largely resembled that of the average bipedal being, even with its webbed hands and feet. It was to be expected of the Merman species, it would be pointless calling them Merman if they didn't at the very least somewhat resemble man.

Pulsing with light, the crown hovering above his head reacted to the grand thoughts of conquest which were whirling through the head of its owner. With its eyes glued to the scene being presented to him by the Observation Screen, the Merman God fantasised about the future expansion of his budding religion and the eventual rise of his empire, there was no doubt in his mind that his civilisation would reach that stage.

Even after witnessing the ritual that had taken place in the goblin village not far from his own, his belief still held strong.

Though he was wary of the effects of the process that occurred after the goblin's demonisation, the growth his followers had undergone due to his intervention was quite substantial, especially since he had long established his village before the newcomer had made their appearance.

'And there's also that..'

The fish-headed god nodded to himself as he recalled the lucky encounter his apostle had, which in turn granted the Merman God's village a powerful trump card.

'This devil will be the first of many to fall to the strength of Tydon, the God of Roaring Storms'

'How annoying'

Letting out a deep sigh, the devil pondered how he would point Faye towards the Merman God's village. He had just attempted to whisper the exact location, however, the Primordial Seed had blocked his attempt.

He could only assume it was due to the location of his enemy not being common knowledge amongst the inhabitants of Genesis or even the Forest of Aeternitas.

Thinking back to the revelations that the Saints of Blaheim received from their gods, his eyes suddenly widened as he recalled a certain event.

Laughter erupted from the onyx being as a certain realisation surged through his mind.

'I'm a devil, if I handed everything to them where would my dignity as a higher being go'

Shaking his head in self-mockery, the essence within the devil began to move in a certain manner as he activated Abyssal Whispers.

Forcefully awoken from her slumber, Faye found herself in a world of black. Everything colour had been stripped away leaving nothing behind, it was just black.

It evoked quite a disconcerting feeling, there were no external stimuli for the brain to process yet being presented with this scene the Asura felt a different type of feeling.

Joy.

This wasn't her first time in this strange world. She had been brought to this place many times by her Lord to grant her knowledge or to be given orders; this was how she received the details regarding how to perform the Territory ritual.

A voice reverberated throughout the space, it seemed to be coming from everywhere but at the same time nowhere, that is how it sounded to the demoness' ears. This was to be expected.

The average mortal would explode if they were to directly hear the voice of any higher being, however, the chance of such a thing happening is abyssal. This is due to mortal worlds barring the entry of higher begins into their lands, this naturally included their voices. Hence, the only way a mortal would hear a higher being's voice would be through the whisperings and the revelations.

The techniques used to deliver these whispers and revelations, in a sense, muffle the messages so that their mortal recipients are able to listen to them without suffering instant death.

But there was only so much these techniques could do, which meant it was normal to experience confusion and headaches upon receiving the message.

"An evil god has made their appearance, find their followers, they're hiding in the forest"

As soon as the voice came to a stop, Faye found herself seated upon a throne of bones. With a dazed look in her eyes, she observed the purple beings around her getting along with their daily lives.

Suddenly, she let out a faint gasp as her hands clutched her head, it felt like her head had been split open with an axe. Along with the pain came the memories of the important order of her Lord.

An evil god had appeared!

And followers of this evil god were hiding in the forest.

Forcing herself to forget the anguish brought by her headache, with great difficulty, the demoness tried to form a plan of action, which revealed an issue to her. The scouts hadn't returned yet, so there was no way to find the evil god's followers unless Faye went herself.

Although the goblins were significantly stronger than they previously were, it was likely that the followers of the evil gods were also blessed with unique abilities. If Faye were to leave the village in search of this specific evil god's followers, there was no saying that the followers of another evil might stumble upon the village and attack in her absence.

This conundrum left her stumped.

Should she go?

Leaning back into the throne with a sigh, Faye turned her eyes onto her surroundings, seeking to inspect the progress of the blacksmiths and armourers. As she was doing so, her amethyst eyes landed on the black snake totem glowing with purple light. The snake seemed to have a mocking look in its eyes as Faye realised what the answer to the question was.

It was obvious from the start.

When in a Territory that belonged to them, demons would receive a boost to their strength especially magic that was specific to their deity. In the case of their village, the goblins among them who work out how to use Corruption magic would see an enhancement to their spells when in the Territory.

If an enemy were to attack, the goblins could repel them with the Territory boost and if Corruption magic was brought into the equation, then it was almost guaranteed. With that in mind, Faye put together a simple plan that would allow the village to grow in her absence.

The only thing left to do was inform the First Priest, Thrag so that he could carry the plan out.

A loud snap sounded in the ears of the villagers near the apostle's throne, triggering all of them to turn to the source of the sound with their heads bowed. Footsteps could be heard making their way towards the throne as the Asura had a finger pointed at a goblin, who was the source of these footsteps.

Upon reaching about a metre distance from the demoness, the short goblin came to a halt, awaiting the order of the Lord's Apostle.

"Inform the First Priest that I have orders for him, make sure to let him know that he needs to come here as soon as possible"

With a wave of her hand, she sent the goblin away on his errand whilst also signalling to the other goblins to continue their activities.
