Shiro POV
Half an hour after Khan left the dining hall for the meeting, Shiro stood around with Yuna at the buffet table watching Yuna stuff her face with the food while waiting for Khan to come back.
Occasionally a male classmate would muster up the courage or be peer pressured by his friends to ask Shiro for a dance. She rejected all the boys with an apology, but they all left happy because they were able to either able to talk to her for the first time or that they can proudly say they were able to ask the prettiest girl in the school for a dance. There were also a few girls that came up to Shiro to ask for a dance, but it ended with the same rejections as the boys.
Shiro watched as Yuna finally finished eating. Yuna had a blissful face as she handed her dirty plates to the maid.
“Shiro I was wondering on why you accepted my crazy proposal for us to date Khan at the same time.” Yuna asked.
“There are a lot of reasons why I said yes, but the four main reasons are
The connection I’ve built with Khan’s mother because she has taken care of me since I woke up from my coma. She also filled in the gap that was left by my deceased parents by providing me the emotional support I needed while giving me the training I need to lead my clan.
The second reason would be the comfort I receive from being near Khan. He reminds me of the happiest times before the assassination of my parents.
The third reason is that I don’t want to end up like my uncle Goryuki Yukimura. The reason why he pushed me to meet Khan is because he doesn’t want me to end up like him. The reason why he’s always drowning himself in alcohol is because my mother was the love of his life. My father and Goryuki were both childhood friends to my mother, but my father was the one who asked her out first, which led them to falling in love. My uncle was happy for my father, yet he lives his life in full of regrets on what could’ve happen if he were to taken the first step.
The last reason is that I feel like I’ve only been taking from the La’Ameraza Clan without giving anything back from the support they’ve given me so I want to support Khan as much as I can to return the favor.” Shiro replied.
Before Yuna could reply, they were interrupted when the final male classmate who hasn’t asked for Shiro to dance has finally approached her.
“Uh, Shiro may I, I, um get.. I mean have a dance with y-y-ou?” The classmate stuttered as he asked.
“I’m sorry.” Shiro replied.
“It’s ok! Thank you.” The boy said as he walked away with his head down.
In the background Shiro saw Sensei Jarue walking toward her and Yuna. When Sensei Jarue had approached Shiro, he had his biceps flexed to show off his small muscle that had a bit of skin sagging.
“It’s embarrassing to see all you young men get rejected by one girl. I will show you boys how it’s done from a real man!” Sensei Jarue yelled at the top of his lungs.
“Ya right old man!” A boy screamed from across the room.
“Who said that?” Sensei Jarue screamed back.
No one said replied.
“You better be scared of me, now watch me work my magic, kids.” Sensei Jarue said out loud.
Shiro saw her classmates laugh as Sensei Jarue moved his face into position to whisper into her ear.
“From the bug (listening device) I’ve placed on Khan, I heard that the royal knight commander is actually a rebel commander. He helped Khan escape by healing his broken legs and gave him the provision that were left for two former rebel knights. You know what to do.” Sensei Jarue whispered into her ears.
“I’m sorry Sensei. I can’t dance with you.” Shiro replied out loud.
“No why won’t you dance with me!” Sensei Jarue screamed at the top of his lungs.
The class was giggling at Sensei Jarue for his rejection from Shiro.
Shiro heard a loud bang when someone kicked open the double doors from the back of the dining hall. Prince Gale Jr., Princess Annabella, John, Yai, King Gale, and some knights ran in desperately gasping for air.
“What happened to our prince?” One of Shiro classmate screamed out when she saw John.
“I’m okay I don’t have any wounds. I was able to protect myself from the rebel attacks.” Prince Gale Jr. said in happiness.
“No not you! I mean John.” The girl yelled out in response.
Everyone was making a ruckus from the injuries Yai and John had.
“Quiet!” screamed John.
“We were attacked by the rebel forces. They killed two of our brave royal knights, your classmate Khan, and injured many others. Sir John protected King Gale by putting his life on the line.” The royal knight commander said as he pointed to the visible bruises and cuts on Johns’ arms and face.
“Our Prince John, You save the king! Kya!” A classmate screamed out.
“Wow what an amazing guy!”
“He’s our hero!”
“Oh my god I’m so glad cutie John is here to protect us.”
“I’ll follow you forever Sir John!”
Shiro watched as her classmate screamed in joy for John, but no one said anything about Khan being killed.
She felt Yuna’s warmth after she had rushed into her arms after hearing Khan was killed. Looking down at Yuna, Shiro saw tears were pouring down Yuna’s face causing her school dress shirt to get soaked in tears.
Shiro could feel her Ki leak out as the seal placed on her loosen up from her anger boiling up.
They were sent back to their rooms after Prince Gale Jr. and John told the story of their heroic deeds to save the king from the rebel attack.
The walk back to the heroes living quarter, Yuna was still crying her eyes out while everyone was in an upbeat mood from the stories John had told them.
When they finally got back to the room Shiro had told Yuna everything, but she told to Yuna stay in the room the next day for the physical test.
That night they slept together in the same bed with Yuna still crying till she fell asleep.
When Shiro got up in the morning, the warm sunlight was shining down upon Yuna and her. Shiro got up to get ready for the physical test held by the royal commander knight in the court yard of the living quarter. Before she left the room she looked at Yuna who was still asleep after crying all night. Shiro tried control her anger so Ki wouldn’t leak out.
In the courtyard Shiro saw the boys were already playing King of the hill with sword sparring. This is where one person is king that stays in the ring while someone tries to take them out. If that person fails to take down the king, then someone else will challenge the king until the king falls.
John was currently the king of the hill as he took down the boys one by one. Shiro wasn’t impressed at all by John’s skill, but judging from the looks in the eyes of the girls in her class. They were smitten by his sword skills that showed some training, but nothing special. The boy’s in her class had no talent in the sword beside one boy who was captain of the kendo club who did put up a small resistance.
Shiro walked toward the royal knight commander who was off in the distance watching the sparring. From his facial expression it seemed like he wasn’t all too impressed either. She stood next to the muscular blonde man who had impressive full silver plate armor on. They had no one near them to listen in because they were all busy watching John taking down her classmates one by one.
“May I help you with something young lady?” The royal knight commander asked.
“Yes, you can, Mr. Rebel commander.” Shiro replied emotionlessly.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
She saw that the commander froze in place, but quickly recovered.
“What do you want?” The commander said with his slightly voice trembling.
“I want you to get Yuna and me to the tombs where Khan lays and some supplies for us to travel away from this castle.” Shiro replied.
“What if I say no?”
“Then that will be your last ‘no’ ever.”
There was a pause as Shiro waited for his response.
“Give me by tomorrow night to have everything ready.” The commander said with his voice trembling a bit more.
“If you can get that done tonight, I’ll help you get rid of this disgusting family. I swear on my family honor.” Shiro replied.
There was a longer pause this time as Shiro waited for his reply.
“Ok Deal. I’ll have everything ready to stage a kidnapping and rebel attack tonight. Just makes sure you leave some blood behind while making it seem like you were attacked.”
“Ok.”
Shiro walked away from the commander to proceed with the next part of her plan. She felt disgusted that she had to force herself to do this, but if she’s not going to hurt John physical then she’s going to do it mentally.
When she approached the ring where they were having their sword sparring all the girls were cheering for John who had just taken down all the boys in the class. The boys lay on ground dejected not from being defeated, but not being able to show off their manliness to the girls.
Shiro heard whispering from her classmates as she picked up the sword on the ground when she entered the ring.
In front of Shiro, John had a surprise expression from her sudden challenge.
“John O’Connor, You’re a great man for putting your life to protect others. I value this most in a man so I’ll give you this one chance to prove yourself to me. If you beat me, then I’ll acknowledge you as my fiancé and will allow you to take my first tonight.” Shiro announced emotionlessly.
“Kya!” a girl screamed out
“No Shiro you can’t do this!” A boy screamed
“Say yes!”
“OMG my heart beating so fast from her sudden confession!”
“My pure Shiro no...” A boy cried
“I accept.” John said with a big smile.
Shiro saw Yai face darken as she stared at Shiro.
Both of Johns’ hands were clenched tightly the sword with his right leg leading. Shiro had only one hand loosely gripped to her sword with her stance wide. They raised both their long swords to have the point of the sword to touch to signal the beginning of the battle.
John quickly took a step back at the start of the battle as Shiro just stood there waiting. He raised his arms to swing the sword downwards at Shiro with her blocking by raising her sword horizontally. As he continued his barrage of attack, Shiro felt he was increasing his power little by little to avoid hurting her by not starting off too strong.
To Shiro, John’s sword was moving in slow motion for her. If she wanted to, she could easily make it look like an accident in killing John, but she wanted Khan to have the revenge because he was the one who was wronged.
She dropped to her knees pretending to be defeated.
“You’re strong John. You have proven to be strong enough to be my fiancé. I’ll be visiting your room late tonight after I had prepared myself so make sure your room is empty with just you.” Shiro said seductively as she stared into his eyes with her beautiful blue eyes.
John face blushed to a deep shade of red.
In the background Sensei Jarue could be heard laughing as Shiro walked back to the room with her classmate still shocked from she just had said.
As she closed the door behind her, she heard John cheering in excitement from his victory.
That evening Sensei Jarue entered their room followed by 2 knights while everyone was at dinner. Shiro and Yuna stayed back at the living quarters with the excuse that Yuna was still affected by Khan’s death. Of course the real reason was to proceed with the staged rebel attack so they can join up with Khan while fooling the class that the rebels had kidnapped them.
Shiro had already damaged the room to make it look like there was a struggle within the room. Then she cut her arm to leave her blood around the room. Afterwards she had the royal knight heal her arm with the white light from his hand.
“I’ll stay to protect the class from any dangers and feed false information about the kidnapping. Good luck young princess and little Yuna. Please take care of young prince for me.” Sensei Jarue said before he smashed his head into the wall to knock himself unconscious.
The run to the gate to enter into the demon prince tomb was simple and clean. The commander had staged another rebel attack on the opposite of the castle, which allowed the commander to station all the guards and maids to the dining hall to defend the royal family, students, and noncombatants of the castle.
The guards who escorted Yuna and Shiro to the massive doors didn’t follow them in. They just quickly opened the door and closed it to pretend they were standing guard at the doors the entire time.
After the door was closed they slid down the tunnels with Yuna talking nonstop.
When they reached the demon prince tomb, they found Khan passed out.
….
Khan just looked at the girls as they stared back at him after Shiro told him what had happened while he was passed out. He wasn’t sure if he should’ve been happy or angry at them for pulling this off.
“I’m happy you’re both safe, but I got two questions to ask you Shiro before we find a way to exit this tomb.” Khan said.
“Go ahead.” Shiro replied.
“First question is will you tease me the way you teased john?”
“No. I only did it because he wronged you and tried to lie to me about how heroic he was while you were proclaimed dead.”
“Ok. Second question is what’s the next part of your plan? You said you already planned the next few steps ahead.”
“The plan is go head to the kingdom of Romati where they will hold the annual combat tournament for magic and physical skills. Kingdom of Galen, Yalen, and Romati will be taking part of this grand event to show off their talents. This year the tournament will be even hyped up more because of the heroes will take part in the tournament to show off their powers to scare the kingdom of Yalen who used to be part of Galen before the civil war. The tournament consists of 5 vs. 5 battles to show teamwork and single battles. Do you have any other questions?”
“When is the tournament going to be held and how long will it take to get to the Kingdom of Romati?”
“The tournament will be held in 7 months and the estimated travel time by foot is 1 month.”
“Shiro what about the other 6 months, do you have anything planned?”
“Yes. I got the commander to write us five recommendations to attend the famous war academy in Romati so we can gather knowledge about this world fighting style and magic. Also If we can’t find people for our team, then we can ask local students to join the team for the tournament.”
“I have no objection to this plan. Thank you Shiro.” Khan said sincerity as he held Yuna and Shiro in both his arms.
