Chapter 9

When Khan entered into another vision, it was different than the usual dark hellish visions. He felt like he was in the scene of a romance movie. Khan stood in a field of endless white roses with crystal clear blue sky allowing the warm sunlight shine down upon him.

In the distance he saw a young girl around the age of 8 with short blonde hair tied up into a pony tail with beautiful blue eyes. She was wearing a simple one piece dress that matched the color of the roses. She was running toward Khan picking up roses as she went.

Khan stood there waiting for her to come to him. She would tip every few steps, which resulted in her smashing the rose with her body when she fell forward. She would then take the time to pick more white roses to make up for the ones she crushed. Khan watched this cycle repeat a few times before he became impatient and decided to walk to her instead.

When they finally met, she stood there staring at him with her blue eyes holding out the beautiful bouquet of white roses she had collected. He hesitated before accepting the roses fearing that this was one of those “too good to be true” moments that occur at the ending of some horror movies after you survived through hell.  When he accepted the roses the girl just looked at Khan with a big smile as the gentle breeze blew past through them. The suspense was real as he waited for her response.

“My name is Haley and I would like to congratulate you on the pasting the first trial that tested your willpower, but I’m curious on why you look completely fine after surviving 100 of the horrifying visions. Most people would be broken by the 10th time and the other three that did survive a long time ago were in extreme conditions.” Haley asked.

“I can’t deny the visions had broken me down in the beginning, but the thing that saved me was the whole minute I came back to reality between visions. As the number of times I woke up increased I was able to push myself into believing the realist visions I saw weren’t real.

So instead of the visions breaking me down, it made my willpower stronger because toward the end, I was able to watched them intently without letting it affect me, but I still couldn’t stop the visions causing me to black out from what I think is mental exhaustion.” Khan replied as he sighed with relief.

“Congratulation, you passed the second and final trial in one go!”

“What do you mean?”

“The second trial is to give me a few reasons on why I shouldn’t kill you and the final trial is convincing me on why I should accept you as my master.”

“Couldn’t you just make those two trials into one trial and then add a second real trial?”

Haley puffed her cheeks and looked fiercely at Khan.

‘Oh shit, I might actually die this time.” Khan thought to himself.

“Are you questioning me because I look like a child?” Haley said angrily.

“No I’m sorry please continue on, what you were saying before.”  Khan said.

Haley stared into Khan's eyes for a few seconds before continuing

“As I was saying, I’ve chosen you to be my master because you became stronger instead of breaking down from the 1st trial. The ring deteriorates your mind the longer you wear it, which depends on your willpower. A prime example of that is the former Prince. As he continued to wear this ring he went insane that resulted in him killing his family.” Haley said.

“…..” There was awkward silence as Khan stared at Haley who was waiting for his response. He wasn't sure on what to say beside "you're a crazy bitch, let me out now". Khan usually doesn't swear, but there are times when it's needed. Of course he's not going to swear at this cute little girl even if there's a possibly she might not actually be a little girl.

“The side effects do sound a bit horrible, but what you gain from this ring through me is only the power that the demon lord himself can wield, Shadow Magic.” Haley said.

“Wait, can I ask a few questions?” Khan asked.

“Go ahead.” Haley said with her head tilted to the left staring directly into brown Khan’s eyes.

“The former master of this ring and Prince of Halekin said that his nickname was The Demon Prince from his family and enemies. So was the reason why his nickname was The Demon Prince was because he used shadow magic that only the Demon Lord currently can use, correct?”

“Yes that is correct.”

“The humans of this world are extremely afraid of the Demon Lord?”

“Yes that is true, everyone should know that you dummy.” Haley said as she puffed her cheeks again.

“That would make me the next Demon Prince if I used Shadow Magic within the human population and most likely I would be executed out of fear of being in relations to the Demon Lord?”

“Yes.” Haley said as she slowly avoided Khan’s gaze.

“Sorry, would it offend you if I reject your offer?”

“Why would you say no? You’ll gain immense power that everyone wants and cower in fear of when against it. Don’t you want to protect the ones you love or get revenge for the ones that inflicted pain on you?” Haley said angrily.

“If I didn’t have any power I would surely accept your offer without hesitation, but I already have power that I need to protect the ones I love. The ring will not only slowly destroy my mind, but set me up against the human population as the next Demon Prince that will cause more trouble in the long run. So far the negative outweighs the positive and If we take a look at the former prince of Halekin, it didn’t turn out too well for him.”

Haley quickly pushes her left hand directly into Khan’s chest. He didn’t feel any pain, but instead felt something he never felt before that didn’t feel good nor did it feel bad.

“Haha I got you! Congratulations on reaching the highest affinity of Shadow Magic!” Haley yelled at the top of her lungs followed by a cute laugh.

“Why did you have to be so dramatic about it? Couldn’t you just froze me or chain me up? This is the world you create where I most likely can’t resist anything you throw at me.” Khan said nonchalantly.

Haley was flabbergasted by his nonchalant response to her action.

“Why aren’t you surprise or at least angry with me?” Haley asked with her cheeks puffed and arms crossed.

“I figure you would do this no matter what my response was, but it doesn’t hurt to ask if I could reject the offer. Judging from your personality you probably would’ve just puffed your cheeks again and said no to my rejection.” Khan replied.

Haley fell to the ground holding her stomach while she tears were flowing down her face from laughing so hard from Khan’s response. When she got back up again she had a big smile on her face.

“You’re funny. I’ll keep the introduction short so you can rejoin the girls that have been watching over you for quite some now.” Haley said.

“Thank you, I wasn't trying to be funny though and what I saw wasn’t an illusion?” Khan replied.

Khan didn’t resist when Haley put her hands back into his chest. Her face froze in place.

“Are you joking with me?” Haley said with surprise.

“What?” Khan said.

“Your only natural magic affinity is holy magic, but it’s at the highest level.”

“That’s good right? I’ve might gotten that from my mother whose a natural and the best at healing arts.”

“I hope she doesn’t have the same mana pool as you because the most you’ll ever be healing without my help is bruises and small cuts.”

“Oh, how bad is that?”

“Can’t you act more surprise at how small your mana pool is?” Haley said with her cheeks puffed.

“I’m not from this world.”

“Don’t think you can trick me because I look like a child.”

“I’m not; can’t you just read my mind?”

“I can’t because it takes an immense amount of mana and also I’ve used a lot of the ring’s mana over the centuries on the first trial for the hundreds of others who approached this ring.”

“What about the fog and drop in temperature?”

“Illusion magic.”

“Isn’t that just a waste of mana?”

“Don’t say it’s a waste, appearance matter!” Haley yelled at the top of her lungs with a pout.

“Sorry.”

Haley didn’t reply back to Khan Apology. He watched as she went from a pout to puff cheeks with her arms crossed while he waited for her to response back.

“It’s fine. I’ll be teaching you on how to control your holy and shadow magic while figuring out the best way to increase the size of your mana pool. We’ll meet again when you sleep.”

Haley smiled at Khan, right before he opened his eyes to reality. He felt the warmth of Shiro and Yuna knees on his back with their arms wrapped around his chest holding him into a comfortable position. It seemed like they fell asleep while waiting for him to wake up again.

Khan didn’t want to wake them up, but decided it would be best to do so at the current situation they were in. He slowly mustered up the energy to raise his hand to wake up Shiro. As his hand edged closer to her face, he felt a powerful slap on his left cheek. His face was in pain from the slap that echoed in the tomb room.

Stolen story; please report.

He saw Shiro’s beautiful blue eyes and Yuna pretty brown eyes staring directly into his. Yuna had a sad expression while Shiro had her usual emotionless expression.

“That slap was for getting caught into a trap. Now tell us how you got caught and you can’t say it was poison because I know as a child you should have been trained by your mother to resist poison or know that you've been poisoned. She’s given me the basic training during my rehab with her, after my waking up from my coma so I understand how efficient, but severe her training methods are.” Shiro said bluntly with her hand raised again for another slap.

“John was forced by Prince Gale Jr. to tell me his plan under their agreement. He told me from the outdated information John received from hired professionals, he fed me the legendary Ki medicine known as “God’s Soul.” Khan replied with a weak voice.

He felt the warmth from her hand when Shiro lowered her hand to gently rub his cheek that was still red from the slap.

“I thought it could’ve been possibly magic that took you down, but they probably didn’t want to risk the chances of you going on a rampage and destroying the castle with your power that they have little information on. So the idea to use God’s Soul is unheard of, but isn't a bad idea.” Shiro said.

“I don’t understand how medicine could kill Khan and why they didn’t kill him right away, not that I'm unhappy with the choice because Khan was able to survive, but didn't they think about if Khan survived and came back for them?” Yuna asked.

“First let’s start off why they didn’t kill him right away. The reason would be that from judging Prince Gale Jr. personality, he's the type of person that most likely would prefer to see people suffer slowly. Look at how he was continually torturing his Sister Princess Annabella since we’ve came here.

Then they broke both Khan’s leg and threw him down here in this tomb with no food, light source to see in this total darkness, or support from outside. If he didn’t die from the medicine God’s Soul, then he would’ve slowly died of starvation.” Shiro said.

“His legs are fine though.” Yuna said as she pointed to Khan’s legs.

“It was healed before I was pushed down into this tomb and Shiro can you explain everything you know about God’s Soul? I want to know what information your clan has on it.” Khan replied.

“Sure that’s fine. From the information my Clan has on God’s Soul. It is a legendary Ki Class medicine that is limited in supply due to the fact that it can’t be produced anymore. No one knows where it came from and the information about it is limited due to either ancient clans not willing to share the information or it’s forever lost with the clans that perish.

The current market value for one God’s Soul is currently 7 billion USD, but no one dares to ever take the medicine so it’s more of a collector items now that symbolize wealth and power within the Ki community.

The reason that no one takes the medicine anymore is that there have only been 2 known successful Master Ki Class who has survived from the reforming of the body, but that was centuries ago. Now the Ki users are greatly reduced, but the ones who do have Ki today, don’t have as much Ki compared to the older generations due to the advancement in technology where Ki isn’t needed to survive anymore.

Since Khan said “outdate information” and he seems completely fine after taking the medicine that means he recently advanced to master Ki class in secret while it’s only known to the public that he’s currently expert class.

If John information wasn’t outdated then the chances of Khan dying from the Ki medicine “God’s Soul” should’ve been 100% statistically. There are around 600 known experts in history who have taken the medicine, but all died horrible. For master Ki class there are only around 1000 known reports who have taken the medicine, but only 2 survived from that report, which means .2% survival. Of course these are the only known reports, you have to assume that the numbers are much higher.

If an assassination attempt failed, Khan could always use his clan network to found out who tried to assassinate him. So that’s why the attempts on him reduced over the time from rival clans since he’s inherited the clan. If you didn’t include the cost of the medicine, then it would be the perfect way to kill Khan in the most gruesome way possible without the chance of him retaliating.

The information differs from the reports, but the general idea on how the consumer of the medicine God’s Soul dies is a slow painful death with no cure. You lose your Ki once you activate the medicine. When the medicine doesn’t have any more Ki to feed on, it feeds on the body of the user. First the user hair turns white with it falling off afterwards. Their skin complexion change to a deathly white proceeding with loss of their five senses.

The body begins to shrivel up from the water being sucked up. After is the muscle on the body is slowly eaten away from the medicine till the body becomes skin and bones. The last part is different from users, but it consist of either the body blowing up, turning to dust, or stopping in one of the different stages depending on your Ki class.” Shiro shivered from thinking about the horrible from the medicine.

“I like the way you look right now, please don’t let that happen to you” Yuna pleaded to Khan.

“I didn’t even know you could talk that much.” Khanh said jokingly to Shiro to attempt to change the topic.

“Oh that’s true this is the first time Shiro said more than a few lines.” Yuna replied, taking the bait.

“Don’t get try to change the topic with me.” Shiro said as she raised her hand again for another slap.

“Ah I’m sorry! I’m completely fine right now, but I can only feel a small unusable amount of Ki in my body.” Khan said desperately to avoid getting slapped again.

Khan was glad that Prince Gale Jr. punch wasn’t as vicious as her slap especially when he can’t use his Ki to strengthen his defense.

“Tell me now; what was your reasoning on why you went to the meeting knowing that it was a trap and when did you advance to master Ki class?” Shiro said with her hand still raised.

“I've recently advanced to master Ki class when I turned 16, but no one knows beside my family and some select people that we're close with." Khan replied

"Congratulations Khanybear!" Yuna screamed in happiness.

"Ok continue on to the reasons why you purposefully walked into the trap." Shiro said.

"The first reason why I walked into the trap is who would’ve guessed this American transfer student who I’ve never interact with, use a multi-billion dollar medicine to try to kill me. Who is crazy enough to do that?

Second is I’m the Clan Leader of La’Ameraza with no one who dares to go against me. If I didn’t walk in, then they would’ve assumed I’m a pushover or the information about me was false. Then that would’ve made them not feel afraid in trying to take advantage of me. I can’t walk with my face down into the ground all my life or that'll bring shame to my clan as their leader. When I enter a building I  must walk with my head up and face full of confident because that’s who I am and what I know I’m capable of.” Khan said proudly.

Yuna stared at Khan with sparking eyes in admiration.

Shiro lowered her hand at high speed into Khan’s other cheek. The echo on this slap was much louder than the last. His face was throbbing in pain.

“I admit that I like the pride and confidence that you have because of how powerful you are, but don’t forget you’re still human.” Shiro said tears pouring down her face.

Khan felt the warmth of Shiro’s face as he wiped off the tears pouring down her cheeks. He was surprised that Yuna wasn’t crying this time, but she did have a sad expression.

When Shiro finished, Yuna said something that Khan would have never expected her to say.

“How are we going to get revenge?” Yuna said angrily.

“We don’t, I am extremely angrily with the desire to get revenge for those who have wronged me, but I have to put yours and Shiro's, safety and well-being before my personal needs. I can’t deny it’s my fault we’re in this situation. Now I want to know how you two are here with me right now before we talk about anything else.” Khan replied.

“It’s too late; I’ve already set our plan of revenge in motion with the next steps planned ahead.” Shiro said emotionlessly.

Khan was surprised from Yuna remarks, but he felt like his heart had just stopped from Shiro statement. He looked over to Yuna who had her jaws dropped. Khan really wanted to know what happened while he was gone.
