[Zxel]
The cooked pig that Nibbit let me try is amazing~! It has this bacon taste plus the fatty part of the steak, I could eat this every day! He also seems pretty happy as well, that's good.
Well I think I should get off now, I wonder how long I have been on already? Several real life hours? I can also tell Alexander how well I’m doing! He’ll probably laugh at me because of this race and class however... Sigh.
Menu! With that being said, it shows me the menu which gives me the inventory, status screen [So it’s possible to enter it through here], the ‘Town management’ menu [Which has all the menus for that], friend list, messages and the log o- . . .
I-..Is this a joke? If it is, it’s not funny! Where is the flippin logout button!? You don’t do this kind of shit! Maybe it’s just under certain conditions like needing to be sleeping in a bed first...
But wouldn’t they tell you? Don’t fucking tell me that it tells you in the tutorial!
No they wouldn’t do such a thing, other people probably skipped the tutorial like me... And got that stupid title as well…
Don’t tell me I’m in one of those games! What was the name again.. A death game..? It is isn’t it! Why me?! What have I done to deserve this? I’m in a way worse position than anyone else, I’m hated by almost everyone!
At least I have the Goblins…
Sigh.. I’m doomed.. No log out button, death is probably very real here… Everyone hates me [Most likely]... Wait, what about Alex and Elivia!? Oh shit oh shit!
Calm down! There's no point in freaking out and worrying! You’ll just make it worse and waste time. Calm down and relax. I need to become stronger so I can survive, no point in trying to help someone else when you can’t even help yourself, right?
Sigh... Maybe there is a way back home or out of this beautiful yet dangerous game world. At least this tells you to never play a game that just randomly shows up right?
Now getting stronger and surviving has just been notched up a few levels of importance. First order of business, make this as tough as Fort Knox! Second is to get stronger by levelling up, training with weapons and training with my spells!
Speaking of training my spells, I will need some actually living creatures to practice on. I don’t want to kill anyone but it seems I will have to. Not like I didn’t do it before. Better them than me, if I’m assuming this is a kill or be killed world.
Okay then! Time to start upgrading the village! This will be really fun! I grin and start opening the build menu which appears.
Build Menu [Lumber: 0 Stone: 0 Metal/Ore: 0 Soul Gems:1] Wooden spear wall ----- 1500 Lumber Wooden Wall ----- 5000 Lumber Compass Town Square ----- 500 Stone Town Hall ----- 1000 Lumber, 2500 Stone Material Storage ----- 1500 Lumber, 2000 Stone Food Storage ----- 1500 Lumber, 2000 Stone Upgrade Barracks ----- 1000 Lumber Upgrade Armoury ----- 500 lumber Carpenter’s Hut ----- 1000 Lumber, 500 Stone Blacksmith's Hut ----- 1000 Lumber, 500 Stone Shrine ----- 100 Stone, 1 Soul Gem -------------------------------------------------------------------
...I’m so poor.. At least I have a Soul Gem and whatever that does. I wish it gave me more information on the buildings but what can I do about it? Besides complaining while being butt hurt.
This just means I will have to give my subjects jobs! I can already imagine it now, builders, carpenters and blacksmith Goblins!
I just hope that I can do it with my promotion ability from the subject menu. Now let me see if it costs any points to promote these lazy bums…
Right now I have 150 points left from giving the titles to Nibbit and Mibit, the right and left hand man titles costed 1000 points… And from what I’m seeing right now promotions are cheaper! However they get expensive the higher up you go.
Normal subjects are ranked at Tier 0, so peasants. At Tier 1 you get farmers, militia, and hunters [Price 25 Points]. Tier 2 has guards, blacksmith, merchants and other trades, nothing really fancy trades though [Price varies from 50 to 250 Points].
Tier 3 has Magical trades such as enchanting, stores with spells, alchemy etc. Tier 4 has Soldiers, and Royal guards [Price varies from 250 to 800 points], and finally Tier 5 has High ranking positions such as Nobles, or anything that has Royal in the name besides the Royal guard, such as Royal Court Mage for example [Price varies from 800 to 2500].
There's plenty more rules and information that I saw but it’s not really interesting in my opinion and I may touch on it if it’s important and we are doing something that affects them.
I am going to promote some lucky Goblins to Chief of whatever field I need such as Chief builder so they can both have better skills of what it is and promote others for free! However they can only promote up to 3 Goblins as they will become the Chief’s apprentices.
If you want a higher rank for a promotion like a normal Blacksmith to a Chief Blacksmith will cost what tier it would enter. Upgrading it from Chief to Master Blacksmith and finally to the highest rank of Royal Blacksmith.
Basically chain of command, higher the rank can promote lower ranks to one below theirs and they can do the same thing while also gaining more skills and abilities. They still have to train to get better however, it just gives more potential.
With that being said I will promote a Carpenter, Blacksmith and a Builder and to Chief rank!
----------------------------------------
Well that failed.
I couldn’t get any wood or stone, so I had to demote the three to their normal versions not chief. With that done I promoted/hired a woodcutter/lumberjack and a miner to get the lumber and stone I need.
With me promoting them and sending them off to work. They grow up so fast.. Sniff sniff, I wipe away an imaginary tear.
Well after that I went to Nibbit to ask if we could go out and find me some enemies to train on. Considering I’m still level one and I haven’t been in a single fight in the game yet. Or should I call it life now considering I can’t exit so far..
Nah, I will continue to call it a game until their is beyond a 100% that this is a new world and not a game just without a logout button… I feel like I’m just wanting to keep imagining this is a game so I feel more in control. Do you guys agree or am I just going nuts?
I’m fucking talking to myself and perhaps imaginary people, I AM going nuts…
Back to the talk about training! We are leaving now to hopefully find some enemies to fight, for Exp and to practice some of my spells which were not very useful against a straw dummies.
Sadly I still can’t use my hellfire due to it being too dangerous here [Because forest fires].
However we still have the other affinities! Except Biomancy which is pretty useless right now. I wonder when I can get someone to practice on. Or perhaps I can try it on myself..
Let's not try it on myself just yet, don’t know what can happen. Don’t want my whole body to have the texture of a shrunken head, that would just be horrendous!
Now let's get back to what's happening right now. Me and Nibbit are walking through the forest looking for anything that could be used as practice for my magic and as some walking bags of Exp.
“So.. When will we find something Nibbit. We been walking forever now!” I complain to Nibbit after jumping over another rotten log.
“Sire, we have only been walking for less than twenty minutes so far, I think you need to work on your patience. No offence Sire, but you should work on that. If you do not fix that it may be your downfall later” Nibbit responds with a monotone voice.
Hm.. Seems like he will be serious and blunt with me if I’m doing something wrong but if he’s not, he is pretty meek. Interesting..
“Hmph. So what would you suggest I do than Nibbit? Knit or Paint in my free time? Play some eye spy?” I reply with a bit of sarcasm, rolling my eyes with a grin.
“I would suggest you to plan on what you will do in the future or look out for any animals or pest that may deem to try to harm us Sire.” His response was still monotone
Buzz kill.
But I guess he's right, I shouldn't be wasting my time complaining and actually be using it productively.
“Fine, so could you tell me what we may find out here than? I dislike being blind of what we may come across. I can’t make plans to fight against something I don’t know what I will meet.” I ask him crossing my arms while I look around in the surroundings.
“Well Sire, we only need to worry about Shadow Wolves that live in here since everything else is not worth our attention in the least. Even the wolves will be no problem for you, but we must remain vigilant.” He turns to look at me seriously.
“We may never know when they might strike!” He smashes the butt of his staff on the ground which emits a tiny shockwave, after which we hear howls of what is probably wolves.
I glare at him when I hear the howls and he shyly looks away from me playing with his feet like a misbehaving child who just got caught.
“Have anything to say about that Nibbit?” I give him a stern look which he continues to look away from my gaze.
“Yes Sire.. I’m sorry I attracted the attention of the Wolves, it won’t happen again unless you want that to happen Sire…” He meekly responds with full sincerity. I think I at least.
Good thing about this is that they will come to us and not the other way around. Like I said earlier I was getting tired of this shit. Now I can finally get some live practice started!
With a minute the howls become closer and closer until they appear out of the foliage and start to surround us. Their is probably about 17 to 24 of them around us.
So this is what Shadow wolves are? Meter long wolves with purple and black bristling fur. Has glistening blood red eyes with murderous intent directed at us but also a hint of hunger.. Don’t ask how I know this just by looking into their eyes, I just know.
I also see what is probably the Alpha of the pack with them. Scars across it’s body with patches on it’s body with no fur at all. I’ll call him patches. Sorry Patches but I hope your ready to be used as target practice~
“Nibbit, these are all mine I’m guessing, or will you join in?” I look slightly behind me since he has his back against mine.
“No Sire, I will leave these mutts in your hands, since you wished to practice on them and I don’t wish to take the enjoyment of the kill from you” He nods after finish saying that but I also notice he is shaking a bit.
Well, what shall I start out with? Lets try the blood whips shall we. With that being said or thought, I cut my forearms with a short rock by my foot. It hurt to let you know, not like you care.
I cast Blood Whip which is basically just thinking of the spell and forcing a bit of Mana towards the area in general where you want it and boom! Blood whips coming out of my cuts!
They look like long red squirmy tentacles just waving in the air and are tethered by the wounds on my forearm. Looks kind of weird but let's see how practical it is.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
One of the braver wolves jump at me with its maw wide open hoping to get a large bite out of moi but like hell I will let that happen!
Or at least the tentacles won’t let that happen because they frickin cut the thing in half. Like it just swung itself at the wolf and split it right in half like a hot knife through butter!
Sadly I now have it’s blood and wolf guts all over me now… And now several more jump at me from different angles meeting the same fate of getting sliced in half either straight down the middle or from sideways.
Now we have 16 wolves left and they are kind of upset about what happened to their friends even though they flung their lives away at me.
Also something that was interesting when they died, I saw blue orbs float towards me and enter my chest. Probably their souls from the Necromancy skill. Oh yeahh.
Let's see what else I can do to kill the rest.
Shadow cloak may be useful.. Let's try it!
Once I activate it my whole body gets consumed by black miasma and emits a tyrannical pressure of despair and terror. The miasma starts taking shape around me to look like I'm in the ribs of a large shadow like demon, it’s upper body looming over me, glaring at everything in front of me.
The wolves are just standing there shaking uncontrollably! Except the ones who took one look, coughed out a mouthful of blood and fell on the ground unmoving. You can say with this ability, looks can kill.
So there is now only seven of the wolves left including the Alpha. Well until I moved my hand which the shadowy aura demon’s hand moved as well and hit the Alpha. Now the Alpha has it’s spine broken and some bones sticking out of it.
Well.. that was fun. I wonder if Nibbit was impressed.
“Nibbit. Oi.. Nibbit, you there?” Say that and turn around when he doesn’t answer and he has glazed over eyes and he is foaming a bit.
Seems like it also affects allies as well as enemies it looks. Note taken. I deactivate the cloak and it was like it was never there. Besides the dead wolves, the ones still frozen in their spots and Nibbit snapping out of his trance.
“S-Sire.. What h-happened just now? It was like one moment was just fine then the next.. Darkness, horrible horrible darkness that kept force feeding me thoughts of death, despair and horror..” He is just looking me in the eyes saying that, they seem a little more dull but or at least not as bad as when I had the spell activated…
I put my hand on his head and give him a big smile to try to cheer him up. Hopefully it doesn’t give the opposite response.
“It was one of my spells from my Nightmare affinity, it looks like that it affects both allies and enemies. I’m sorry that it affected you Nibbit, I will try not to allow that to happen to you, I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.” I say and rub his head a bit.
After I say that his eyes are all sparkly and he's giving me one of those crooked smiles. You know what, next time I will just say ‘Good job surviving.’ Than I won’t have to see that smile. Am I being a hypocrite for saying I dislike his smile but I dislike it when people dislike mine?
I take my hand away and the looks a little upset, I even think he's pouting.. This is so strange for me right now, seeing an old Goblin Mage pout because I’m not giving him a head pat/rub anymore.
“Okay Nibbit, what shall I do with the rest of the wolves and Corpses? I have Necromancy, but I would like your input and any tips you may have for me in this situation.” I ask him looking back at the bloody mess I made with the wolves.
He looks at the mess as well and thinks for a Moment before making an ’Eureka’ pose and says to me. “Just revive all of the wolves however make the Alpha one eat the other revived ones. After you do that you will get a special surprise!” He smirks proudly and does a ‘I’m so great!’ Pose.
I see no reason not to follow his advice so I activate the spell ‘Raise Lesser Undead’ on all of the dead Wolves. When I activate it, it makes this black fog appear by my feet and hands that start snaking towards the bodies which it than engulfs. After the fog disperses, the bodies start twitching and they slowly open up their eyes and stand up panting with haggard breaths.
The ones that didn’t raise where the ones that were cut in half, while the ones that died from the cloak were revived. They are covered in their battle wounds and some new opened sores, there's even some areas where pus was formed.
The Alpha looks like a zombie dog from R.E, so bloody and lots of patches of even more lost fur and now skin revealing muscle tissue. Before I send him to eat the other undead Wolves, carcasses and the still living Wolves, I send all the souls into him.
It was quite interesting to watch. Just imagine ghostly blue balls the size of a softball being cannoned out of my chest into the Alpha which keeps flinching every time one of the souls enters him. I wonder how it will affect him, It did say it could be used to raise stronger undead..
Anyways, I then send the Alpha who I shall now name Rotty! To eat the rest of the Wolves. It was kind of gross.. All the flesh being rended from their bodies from Rotty, the worst was the Wolves still alive when it happened. They just stood there taking the punishment but kept whining every time a bite was taken out.
However once he finished eating everything then I noticed a change. He was becoming a larger version of himself.
Before he was a bit larger than the rest at 1.3 meters long, now the is 3 meters long. The muscles tissue that was seen earlier looks like steel cords now. Glowing black pits for eyes and had the teeth of an anglerfish. The tail also changed from being looking soft and bushy to now like a bundle of spiky quills of bones.
I look at Nibbit who is smiling at this, so it seems this was the surprise the was mentioning. It seems like the souls and the meat from the Wolves mutated it or perhaps evolved it.
Is there anyway to check? Like a familiar or summons menu?
Summons Menu Current Summons Rotty - Lv 34 - Undead(Zombie) Terror Dire wolf [Mutation Skill Point Available]
Well that's convenient, and it seems like he is quite high levelled! (Compared to us anyways..) It also looks like he evolved or mutated (Whatever) into something different. But what's this Mutation skill point thingy?
I press it and it gives me a whole new screen showing me three skill trees it looks like. The three skills trees from left to right is. Physical Mutations - Infectious Mutations - Special Mutations.
It says that these are used to upgrade the summon every time it mutates or gains enough biomass to mutate. Mutations are sort of like a mini evolution but isn’t affected by the Evolution EXP and is only for the undead by gaining Biomass (basically eating flesh from different creatures).
It also says that you need to completely fill out at least one tree before the creature can evolve, that doesn’t mean you can’t fill out the other trees before you do that before you evolve but you need one tree before it will allow it to evolve even if you already are at max Evolution Lv.
The physical tree has mutations of the sight, smell, strength and other physical traits they would have. An example would be the mutation to make them run really fast like some zombie horror films or games or allow they to hear or smell super well.
The infectious tree has that allow the creature to have different ways to infect other creatures so when they die, they will become undead as well. There's also upgrades to make it more dangerous/efficient.
The special tree is basically just mutations that give the creature random skills like perhaps acid saliva and also the ability to spit it out for example. Another one could be for it to explode or perhaps regenerate even though it’s body is 90% destroyed.
Every time it evolves the trees are available again to mutate but just upgraded versions of the last ones you did. If you did not mutate it last time, you don’t have the option to mutate the upgraded version but the earlier version.
Quite interesting considering you could make this abomination that would be able to infect everything by just breathing on something, run faster than horses, spitting acid and regenerating at super speeds. 2spooki4me
And I bought the mutation to have an infectious bite for Rotty. Going to make him the Plague bringer! Mahahahahaaha! Wait stop! That's not something a hero should say.. Dammit, why do the villains have all the cool shit..
“Thanks for this Nibbit! If you didn’t suggest me to do that, I doubt we would have Rotty this powerful!” I say and do a fist pump pose. Oh lord, it’s contagious.
“My pleasure Sire. I think this is enough for today to practice your skills? Or do you wish to continue for a while longer?” He inquires and looks to me, ready for my answer.
“Yeah this was good enough. We should really head back to the village. I want to see how far the material gathering has gone and if I can put up any new projects for buildings.” I answer him and start walking to Rotty and sit on his back.
It’s pretty hard despite looking a bit squishy. Good news is that Rotty doesn’t smell bad. Yet.
Nibbit walks over and tries to get on but is to short so I have to pick him up under his arms like a child and plops him down on Rotty’s back with me.
And then we are off!
----------------------------------------
Took us a bit longer than I suspected to get back to the Village with Rotty. He can’t run.
So we just sat on this 3 meter long terrifying looking zombie wolf that just took it’s sweet time taking a stroll to the Village.
We looked majestic while doing it however. If only we had ridiculously long hair and a bit strong wind blowing through it, we would even look better.
When we finally got back, the Goblins started freaking out until they saw us on Rotty. I would be scared of it too if I saw Rotty if I was their size. Their body's are bite size snacks for him.
Now let's see how much crap we got from the woodcutter and the miner, shall we.
Build Menu [Lumber: 100 Stone: 100 Metal/Ore: 25 Soul Gems:1] Wooden spear wall ----- 1500 Lumber Wooden Wall ----- 5000 Lumber Compass Town Square ----- 500 Stone Town Hall ----- 1000 Lumber, 2500 Stone Material Storage ----- 1500 Lumber, 2000 Stone Food Storage ----- 1500 Lumber, 2000 Stone Upgrade Barracks ----- 1000 Lumber Upgrade Armoury ----- 500 lumber Carpenter’s Hut ----- 1000 Lumber, 500 Stone Blacksmith's Hut ----- 1000 Lumber, 500 Stone Shrine ----- 100 Stone, 1 Soul Gem -------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that looks okay. An hour of work and that's the supply we got. I can build the shrine now if I want to. Probably some light décor for the Village should be good.
I click the ‘Shrine’ and it disappears and a second later the menu disappears as well.
Notification
The Shrine is being constructed by your Blacksmith as of right now. It will be done in a few hours and it will be placed in the center of the Village.
Oh for the love of god.. It’s one of these!!
[Hello! Thanks for reading and sorry for not posting this when I said I would. Got really busy and didn't really have time to finish it.
