"Hey Zeri, remove demon king title."
[Lelantos, I am not Zeri, I am your personal local reincarnation assistant. That said, I don't have the authority to remove a title given by the System directly, and you don't have to talk to me, like I already said, I can read your thoughts.]
Hello, then. And don't call me Lelantos, for you I am still Mr. Quetchbury, I barely know you.
[Hello, Mr. Quetchbury. You might not know me, but I already know everything there is to know about you.]
Isn't this a severe breach of privacy, I never agreed to any such surveillance terms?
[From what I gathered, in your old world certainly, here, however, you're not some kind of geezer, whom nobody cares about, but the demon king. It is in your personal interest, for me to help you develop as fast as possible, even as a bee.]
No.
[What do you mean, no?]
I am not the demon king, I never accepted these king-terms either.
[I can't help you, that's to be blamed on the people from soul-redistribution-headquarters.]
Mhm. "Hey Bill, remove demon king title."
[Erm, he can't hear you.]
"Hey Zeri, sue Bill Munchgem from soul-redistribution-headquarters for emotional damages, physical assault, and breach of contract."
[Stop it. Nobody cares about your opinion: Yes, you're the demon king, but at the same time, you're a queen bee, without even a single worker. And nothing changed, you still don't have to talk for me to understand you.]
So, did you sue him, then? And don't forget compensations for the damages to my car.
[No, there's nothing like suing here. I will send a support-ticket for your demon king title.]
Is everybody here this useless? Back, when I was a child, people would actually work, not sit around all day and listen to other people's thoughts.
[Sir, there's more important things to do right now. Have you even looked around yet?]
Yes, kind of a shithole, trees everywhere, not a single sign of civilized life. That's what you get for never lifting a finger. You're lucky, I am here to assist a bit.
[Mhm, sure. First things, first. You will need food and something to drin-]
Shut up, you're interrupting my thinking-process. I watched a documentary about surviving in the wild a while ago. What I need first is food and something to drink...
[Yes... and then a hideout to defend you from the elements]
Exactly... and then a hideout to defend me from the weather and dangerous beasts. Say, did you watch this documentary, as well?
[It is the knowledge, I have collected over millennia upon millennia. This knowledge, gathered from experience, is far superior to your documentary.]
So, what you're saying is you didn't watch it? Then please keep away from my affairs, until I ask you to assist again.
[I don't think that is wise, sir]
"Hey Zeri, mute yourself, until asked otherwise." Hello, still there? Did this work?
[...]
Ah, finally. So, let's get started then. First up, I need a source of water. In the documentary, they took water from cutting up cacti, but there are none here in the forest.
"Hey Zeri, show me the nearest cactus."
[...]
"Hey Zeri, unmute and show me the nearest cactus."
[Are you nuts?]
I don't believe nuts have high enough of a water content.
[!!!]
That's, why I need cacti, preferably a whole bunch, to keep myself water-fed (?) for a while.
[Before, doing anything rash, please listen for a moment and tell me, what you hear.]
You think, I got time for that? I need cacti, now.
[Do it, then I will tell you, where to find cacti.]
A fucking daylight-robbery, that's what this is. You think, I'm just gonna let that slide?
[Listen. to. the. sounds.]
I will sue you, you know I will. But sure, I am gonna play your little game this time. Some leaves rustling in the wind, some birds and.. a river.
[Very good, well done, little one. Now, a river, what does that mean?]
The plants have everything to grow, and carry a lot of nectar, which I will harvest later, but first, water, so where the cacti at?
[*sigh*, why do you need cacti now?]
WATER. W.A.T.E.R. Drinking, you know, it's something your body needs to survive. Cacti have a lot of water, which I want to drink. I'm not interesting in dying on day one, ever for that matter.
[There is a river...]
And? You really wanna break your word? You promised to show me to cacti, when I listen, and tell you what I hear, I did that. Now it's your turn, you trying to kill me, by thirst, or something? I was part of the army in the past, I don't think, you know, what you're up against. During my time, as a soldier, I earned multiple medals, presented to me by general Krostenburg, himself.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
[Keep talking. I am very interested.]
Yeah, that's right. Don't have such a big mouth anymore, huh?
[Mhm, exactly, you got it, pal.]
For you, still Mr. Quetchbury. Krostenburg would have already given you a beating for that, you can be thankful, I am in such a good mood.
[Back to the water, instead of cacti, you could try and drink from the river.]
...
[Let me give you a definition: A river is a stream of water that flows through a channel in the surface of the ground. You listened? Again, a river is a stream of water that flows through a channel in the surface of the ground. Hmm, stream of what? I didn't quite get it?]
Let me help you, stream of water, W.A.T.E.R. you still don't quite seem comfortable on the subject of water. Now, that I think of it, I could try to drink directly from the river in a heroic fly-by. You may not know yet, back in the military, I was called Mr. Catch 'n' Bury, due to my one-of-a-kind-flight-maneuvers. In the air, I caught up with everybody, and the second is pretty self-explanatory.
[Wow. Cool. I would really like to see your flying-skills, then. Currently, you only have the perk "Limited Flight - 1" At first, I was a little bit afraid for your life, but after hearing of your oh so heroic adventures, I trust you.]
Thank you for your trust, Zeri, I know our relationship has had it's up's and down's, since we met, but today, it will change. From friends, to brothers-in-arms, nothing can forge quite the same relationship, as moving out together, taking on the enemy, arm in arm. From this day onwards, I will allow you to call me General Quetchbury. Together we will reach greatness. Together we stand, united against the forces of evil. Prepare, and ready for take-off.
[... ....... .....]
Silenced, so quickly? I haven't even started! Watch!
Slowly, I started moving my magnificent wings, taking off, target: The purest power, there was, is, and ever will be: water. With you today: the great General Quetchbury, decorated with medals, so heavy, the wings wouldn't even move, accompanied by Zeri, a lowly soldier. The young people from today, would have already given up, but I'm not even thinking about it, discipline is the road to greatness. I may sway in the wind, I may be in direct view of vicious predators. I may be attacked by the very elements, themselves, but never have I given up, and never will I retreat. This water will be the source for a new civilization, a new society, a new kingdom (queendom? bueendom? beedom?), a new empire. Undefeated and unconquered.
The rushing sounds of the water, bashing against rocks, became louder and louder. There it was, that, which we have always longed for: water. I threw all my power into my wings, it was nearly perfect, only missing a few sips of my trusty homebrew. The winds bashing into my sides, trying to turn me around, away from the water, away from life, but in the end it was just a failing conqueror, the first of many to come. Just a few seconds ahead, there was the river, I initiated the nosedive, gaining speed, gaining momentum, unswayed by the elements, stopping just above the surface of the water. Slowly, approaching the rapid stream. Soldier! Prepare for drinking!
[Wait! As soon as you try drinking, this torrent will draw you into its depths!]
Are you suggesting, I can't do it? Are you challenging me, Zeri?
[We need water without such a strong current, a lake or something.]
Cacti?
[... there aren't any nearby]
I understand, the land is unforgiving, just as I expected. We will have to plan anew. So, get going, meanwhile I will take a rest.
[You should look at your other skills.]
Do they provide a benefit to the mission?
[Yes, they're pretty helpful.]
Then, take care of the plan, I will do what is necessary with these skills. "Status, reveal yourself!"

"Hey Zeri, you done yet?"
[What? I haven't even begun]
Why is my stamina not full anymore? It was before.
[Erm, you just flew high-speed...]
So it's like my gas or something? Where can I refuel?
[It just regenerates over time, 5 Stamina / day, at your level. Whenever you level up, top right, you get skill points, which you can spend on one of the four attributes: Strength, Perception, Agility and Intelligence.]
What do I get from levelling them up?
[You increase your physical qualties indicated beneath. For example, levelling up Endurance, will give you ten max health, instead of five, while levelling strength will increase your health and stamina regeneration rate. Additionally they also upgrade your skills, when they scale with that attribute.]
Skills?
[You currently only possess species and title skills. The more you use them, the higher they level, your limited flight, for example, levelled up to 2.]
I am just gonna act, like I understood everything, prepare for questions, later on.
[Ugh.]
So, what does Crew-Assembly do?
Crew-Assembly: This skill allows you to order your followers to assemble for announcements, discussions, or similar. Works from a distance, when used in combination with mana.
Zeri? You have changed? Why do you look so different? Wait, Zeri V2.0?
[I'm still here that's a system notification. Nothing special.]
So you didn't get an update?
[No, like I said, that was just a system notification.]
Still useless then, sad.
[...]
Back to the skills. Which followers? I never had any of that social-media stuff?
[What? Followers is your offspring, basically. Later on, when you are the leader of a large colony, this skill will prove helpful, for now it's pretty useless, same with the Captain skill.]
Explain Captain skill.
Captain: This skill allows you to look at the Status of your followers.
Ok, seems reasonable, then what does Oviposition do?
Oviposition: This skill allows you to lay eggs, that will evolve into bees. This skill is the backbone of each and every colony.
Zeri, why is there even a system, couldn't you just tell me everything?
[I may have myriads of years of experience, but even I do not know every single skill, there is.]
And this Bill-guy from something-something-headquarters promised me another unique skill, when do I get it?
[You know bureaucracy, will probably take a while.]
Ok, then define Limited-Flight
Limited-Flight: This skill allows flight, limited in distance and carriable weight. This skills stamina cost increases exponentially with flight time.
Last, but not least, Demonic-Expansion
Demonic-Expansion: This skill is incompatible with your species, please create a support-ticket
Wha-at? Zeri, you already send a support ticket for that demon king title, right?
[Yep.]
This Bill-guy is really quite the scammer. Leaving me the title and stripping me of any benefits, thanks a lot.
[Ok, my notes indicate, there is a lake a little distance away.]
Prepare, and ready for take-o-
[General, I don't think you have quite enough stamina for another trip, gotta go by foot, this time.]
Foot? Aahhh, the devil, keep this evil away from me, don't come anywhere near me! You wan't me to step on a mine, get devoured by a giant worm, overrun by ants? What's your goal, here?
[It's the only way.]
It seems, you're still don't get the concept of water. Aside of drinking water, moving water can be used as a way of transport. I just need to find a small plate of wood, maybe some bark, to use as a boat, and drift down the river, until we're near a lake or cacti.
[You sure that's gonna work?]
Trust me, experienced soldier here, done this a thousand times.
[Using a bark as a boat?]
That's new, but the river driving part I am quite comfortable with. Just help me find some bark, near the river, or already floating down.
[I detected a suitable part, you'd need to walk to it, however.]
How far?
[For you, about ten minutes of walking, straight down the river.]
This is a big risk, I don't quite like the odds of that. Ten minutes, everything could happen in that time. Enemy attacks, rain, hell, the bark could even be taken away. We need a solution here, fast.
[I mean, you said, you're an adventurer, right?]
Before I answer, where is this going?
[You see that bear over there? It could just be our personal vehicle of transport.]
Like, what? You mean riding it?
[It's the only way, it's en route to the lake, fly onto its back, hold tight, exit at arrival, completely safe from any kind of predators.]
You, bastard, I'm in. Prepare, and ready for take-off. Operation Hijack. Slowly, again, I started throwing some power into my wings, flying into the direction of the bear, at full speed it shouldn't take more than a few seconds. Actually, Zeri, where should I land? Head? Legs? Arms? Back?
[Back is probably best, don't wanna risk getting slapped or even stepped on by this beast.]
Ok, prepare for landing, engage legs, stabilize, landing successful, taking hold of the fur, gripping successful. Part One of Operation Hijack was a complete success. A small flight for me, interdimensional travel for the colony.
WARNING: You're out of stamina
