Chapter 7

Just like Billy expected, the duo hadn't realized that they had been noticed. Semiramis was aware of their existence and she had been watching them.

No guards had approached them as she wanted to analyze the opponents to avoid any damage. The mana levels of the intruder were read once they came in contact with the barrier and unfortunately for Shirou, he wasn't taught how to avoid such a thing or even sense such a barrier.

As such, he was unaware of this problem and went to sleep with just some basic alarm barrier.

On the other hand, the head of the mage squad and the right hand of Semiramis watched over their steps.

The head could only see them as dots on a map and using the barrier got their appearance but they were unknown at the moment.

The trespassers were foreigners with no records and seemed to lack basic information as people of their level wouldn't think they were being sneaky while under such a barrier.

It was confusing as their purpose was unknown and the likely conclusion was that they were from Pandora or they lived in the wild.

The duo hadn't done anything wild in the city as such the head decided to ask the Duchess of her decision on the matter. She loved collecting talent under her command but he couldn't make that decision.

"Mistress, we have interesting intruders in your territory." William Shakespeare, the head of the Mage squad and the right hand of the Duchess spoke as he entered the garden of the large palace where Semiramis sat during the night to watch the starry skies in the garden she had personally cultivated.

It was a beautiful place that many people would love to visit but it was only second to Semiramis's true garden where she cultivated poisonous plants for her poison research.

She was a mage but her biggest talent lay in the making and usage of poisons. Semiramis was a magic assassin of the highest degree. She enjoyed her life living freely and using her authority to what she wanted while doing her job properly and training properly.

She was unlike most nobles that were weak and relied on others to protect them. She was the strongest barrier between her enemy and her life.

Just like always, looking at the beauty of his master the mage was enchanted. Her appearance more beautiful than anything else and the moonlit only enhanced her ethereal appearance.

The man named William was one of the top mages from magic tower and he had decided to follow Semiramis from the day she had showed her talents in the tower.

He was a man of eccentric taste that was dismissive of most people. He was a writer and a highly intelligent person, which was the reason Semiramis kept him so close.

He liked exciting events and loved following individuals with great destiny. To him, Semiramis was the protagonist of his story and she was walking a very difficult path.

His master was a prideful person and she didn't like being beneath others, meaning that she definitely aimed for the seat of the Emperor.

She had never said a word but he was a talent writer and reader of the heart.

Hearing his voice, Semiramis put the tea cup down and looked towards William. The man with brownish hair and dashing looks, in his thirties.

He was a mage of the sixth circle, just one circle away from being called an Arch Mage. He was one of the strongest mages in the world and specialized in a magic that barely anyone could use, letter magic. William made everything he wrote into reality.

Magic was something very common in the world but not everyone could learn it and the strongest human mage was only seven circles mage. The strongest magicians were the Apostles blessed by the White Lord and the Magic King/Grand Mage Merlin, who was part dragon.

Dragons being the species that were blessed with magic and could naturally reach the seven circles and with some training could arrive at the eighth or ninth circle.

To combat such beast, humanity had become very creative with magic and arrived at union magic. Union magic was where multiple mages could combine their powers into single spells perfectly to fight against foes of greater power. They also focused on magical artifacts, armors and weapons, though it was the Apostles that took care of such threats.

Dragons were powerful but they were also rare as they lived long and had very poor birth rates. There nature asked them to combat and as such most of them died due to their arrogant attitudes at a young age.

The ones that lived to the big age were very powerful and wise, most of the time.

Dragons were one of the species hated by humans to the core and as such they were exterminated by the Heroes and Apostles, leaving few that were enslaved by powerful members of the White Sacrament.

Semiramis was also on the same level in magic, though she was superior to him because of many factors.

Her Elf bloodline boosted both her talents as elves were also magical beings.

"As expected, elaborate." Semiramis smiled as she also knew his nature like an open book. The man wouldn't leave her side until told and he had asked to be excused while she was attending to other duties.

The days had become interesting these days as Arthur had arrived and the tournament was nearing. She wasn't a fighting maniac but she enjoyed the beautiful and impressive display of combat in the coliseum.

There was also the Pandora exploration. It was an interesting prospect to increase her territory and maybe even start a Kingdom as the Pope had decreed that any territory they take over would be the conqueror's to keep.

"Mistress, they are two unknown human young men with good magical skills. From the mana quality we could discern that they were around 3rd circle mages. But they also didn't seem like normal mages, especially one of them who seemed to be the leader. The young man gave off the skillful look and his usage of magic was very smooth, he should be able to contend against 4th circle mages and might even have spells of such level.

They don't seem to have any knowledge of the local area and haven't really broken any rules except this and some theft. At the moment they are sleeping at an inn." William explained in a playful manner like he was telling in an interest story. He wrote in the air with his magical quill and recreated their journey around the city that he had understood from the report and the observation.

Semiramis didn't mind his actions and watched, and listened to what he had to convey. She quite enjoyed his presence and his story telling so it wasn't bad.

She could see that they were not locals from their appearance but that didn't matter. They were talented and from their looks they didn't seem to be troublesome.

They were careful and skilled, and wouldn't have gotten caught if not for the magical barrier.

"Send Achilles and give them the invitation. Send Jacky to kill them, if they decline." Semiramis said after a moment of thought and commanded with a smile as it was just something normal for the Queen.

The two mentioned were the Leaders of her army and the leader of the assassin squad. These three were her strongest and closest subordinates that she could consider them as friends.

"Would you like me to accompany you for the meeting with the Princess?" William asked as there were times Semiramis didn't want people accompanying her.

"No, it's a girl's talk so I don't want a man present."

"Understood, I will handle the recruitment of the talented mages." William said without taking any offence but was saddened as he would be unable to truly see the meeting between his Queen and the Princess of the Holy Empire, Salome.

Taking his leave, he contacted Jacky and Achilles about their task.
