I'll keep it simple. Life and responsibilities got in the way. Perfectionism too. Every time I found a bit of time to make a comeback I'd look at the story with new eyes and want to change something else. It all bogged me down for years.
So, what does it mean that I'm back now? Well, I have about 30k of the rewritten The Deathseeker done. The changes are now substantial enough that I'm thinking of posting it as a new fic. Maybe get a fresh start. BUT. Not yet.
I want to prove to myself that I can be properly consistent this time so I'm trying the writathon again. Same fic as last time, though its also been rewritten. Please, please check it out and support. Its at about 25k

Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term. A badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was only supposed to mean you were manaless, but in Goldfruct it meant you were worthless. It meant your life, your entire being, was insignificant.
Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. A scholar, an inventor, a gifted fighter, and one of the best runners in Waldaun, he refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. His crew was the same. They were all skilled in their own ways and they all believed they could be more, more than just tanlars.
Kaizer believed the most and every day he worked to prove it. He’d be better than any titled. He’d be better than every titled.
But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so.

Thank you to everyone who messaged over the years asking for updates. You kept me from simply giving this up. Hopefully, I complete the writathon and we can get Dalric's journey back on track!
