"What the hell...? I negated the Analyzing skill?" (Data)
Volume 1 Chapter 5
The Plea of A Sibling
"What's the meaning of this?" (Data)
"I was going to ask you the very same thing. You do not seem to possess any particular equipment or item that reduces the efficiency of the Analyzing skill, even less to negate the skill itself." (Ramiv)
"But that's not possible. I have just recently begun to travel around in this world, so I did not have the time to look for such thing." (Data)
"Then how do you explain about the two colorless gems that are embedded at the back of your hand?"
Pointing his finger toward my left hand, he claims that I have a gem that is stuck on my hand. But that is impossible, because if such thing has been embedded on my hand for some time, I could hav- (*glances at the left hand*)
....WHAT IS THIS? Opening my eyes wide, I looked at the gem with a surprise. Since when this thing has been on my hand? Not just that, I didn't even notice that it is there, when it's sunk into my skin itself to boot! And there's one at my right hand too!.
"Ha, so you didn't even realize it's there." (Ramiv)
Curious of the gems on both of my hands, I fiddled with them and subconsciously have ignored Ramiv.
Well, since I have the chance, might as well try analyzing these to see if they could discover something about the gems. Hopefully my own Analyze skill won't be cancelled by myself. That would be seriously awkward.
"Activate Analyzing skill. Target Analyzing : Gems within my hands. Priority Analyzing : Full Information."
*ping*
Unknown Gem
The gem embedded within your hands. It is yet to be known of what purpose they are to serve for, but it is noticeable that an unknown type of magic is dwelling within these gems.
"Tch, I guess life won't just suddenly give you lollipops." (Data)
"Hey, I know you are excited about the new toys you got, but don't leave me out of the topic." (Ramiv)
"Well, right now I don't think I can use these gems just yet, and also; it wasn't these that negated your Analyzing skill, because I can cast it directly to the gems itself." (Data)
"Is that so? Then what could possibly cancel out my Analyzing skill, your own passive skill perhaps?" (Ramiv)
Giving me a look of somewhat not trusting what I deducted, I decided to counter it with a logical explanation. Well, it’s not like I'm lying anyway, since everything I have mentioned so far is the truth, even if it may seem vague and unreasonable.
"Not possible, I have just recently set my foot on this place and I haven't executed any training just yet, nor do I have read a book or taught by someone.
Additionally, my 'Class Orb' was destroyed during the attack, so I don't even have any basic active or passive skills." (Data)
"Oh, well I think we should end the discussion for now, we need to get some rest in order to walk to Shiva tomorrow." (Ramiv)
"Walk? Didn't you have a horse... oh... it ran away because of me. Well dam." (Data)
"Hahaha, it's fine kid, in a way we even get free workout getting ourselves to Shiva." (Ramiv)
Ramiv began tucking himself inside his sleeping bag, while Nerai is on the bed since she's the youngest of all here. I, on the other hand simply bundled some small bags together and made an unprofessional-looking pillow.
Well, it'll do really.
One might ask, why are we sleeping on the floor when there is couple of other rooms in this small house? Well, the answer is simple. Who, in their right mind would sleep alone, considering the threat that the surrounding area pose?
As such, we decided to stay together in a room. In the event of something happening to someone, the others' can respond fairly quickly.
Hm, thinking back... wasn't there something that can be used in order to teleport ourselves to a town or city? What was it again? Ungghh, it was... it was...
AH YES! The 'Recall' scroll, which is given to every new Travelers as a gift to help them at the beginning of their adventures! Without wasting any time, I activated one of the basic commands, taught to me by Revita.
"Inventory Menu." (Data)
"Kid what are you up to now? Just go to sleep and rest." (Ramiv)
Ignoring the old man, I uttered the words. The 'Inventory' interface quickly appeared into view, revealing what I possess momentarily. Though, it's empty at the moment except for a stack of single item within it ; the 'Recall' scroll. I then proceeded to take it out of the inventory.
With the 'Recall' scroll in my hand, I called out to Ramiv.
"Hey Ramiv! Here, this should help you travel to Shiva instantly." (Data)
"Hm...? There is no convenient things such as-(* turns his head to Data*)
...
a 'Recall' scroll?!" (Ramiv)
Huh? That's a weird reaction. He is supposed to be grateful, but he displayed the face of a surprised one instead. It's as if possessing a 'Recall' scroll is a rare occasion among the People of The Lands.
"Well, yeah. Something wrong with it?" (Data)
"Something wrong?! Kid, the thing you're holding right now usually takes a month's worth of monster slaughtering in order to get the money to buy it.
And you actually have 5 of them!" (Ramiv)
What?! Wow, I didn't expect the 'Recall' scroll actually cost that much effort to obtain. Well, it's not like I can sell it anyway, because these are soul bounded to me.
Soul bound's term depends on the type of thing it's on. If they are on an equipment, it means the equipment cannot be sold or used by others and cannot be disposed of. If a boss carries equipment that is soul bounded to the boss, it will perish as soon as the boss falls.
On the other hand, soul bound on items also make them unsellable but can be used by others, should the owner permit them. Depending on the item, we may or may not be able to throw it away.
Anyhow, Ramiv is checking the 'Recall' scroll right now, probably to confirm if it's the real deal or not.
"It's the real one! Kid, where did you get a hold of these scrolls?" (Ramiv)
"In a way, it's actually gifts given to us new Travelers to make traveling between around cities a lot faster, at least for 5 times that is." (Data)
"Quite the wealthy organization you got there, eh?" (Ramiv)
Being unable to make a comeback to that, I simply had to laugh since that it is true in some ways. Now then, one might think that, why didn't I just use it myself in the first place? The answer is, as the name implies, the 'Recall' scroll only allow you to teleport back to cities that you have visited before.
As such, for someone as myself who have yet to visit even one city, the 'Recall' scroll won't work for me. But it will, for Ramiv and Neira who lived in the Capital City of Shiva. Fortunately, one 'Recall' scroll can teleport up to 5 people at the same time.
So although it feels a little of a waste, getting back to Shiva safely is our first priority, even more with Nerai and Ramiv is currently under a debuff effect. Well, it's my fault, of course. Then one last question came from Ramiv, who have seemed to put the fact that I possess 5 'Recall' scroll aside.

"You sure you want to use such precious items on both of us? Kid, you know you can do something better with it, rather than wasting it on us." (Ramiv)
"(*smirk) What're you talking about, old man? Naturally, I will have you take me with you to Shiva. Also consider this as a compensation for inflicting those debuffs on you." (Data)
"Of course I'd take you with us, because if we left you behind, who's going to cure us of these debuffs? Other than that, since you offered us the chance, guess I might as well take it." (Ramiv)
Stretching out his hand to receive the 'Recall' scroll, I handed it to him and witness him placing it inside one of his small pouch. By the way, as grand as they name, the scroll is only 10cm long and wide, shaping into a square if you laid it open. Thanks to that, it is not an inconvenient thing to be carried around, for the People of The Land that is (given that they are rich).
"Guess it's time to sleep now. Night, old man." (Data)
"Night, kid." (Ramiv)
Hitting the 'man-made' pillow to ensure they are soft, I then rested my head on it. Slowly, I started to lose against the fatigue accumulated due to gaining so much new information today and in the end, slept. Before that happened, a faint voice in the distant was heard.
"Can you hear me, Data?" (???)
What...? Who... who is there...? Who are you...?
"My name... is Link. Your... twin." (??? = Link)
"For so long... you have disappeared... ever since that day." (Link)
"For so long... I have been... looking for you." (Link)
"For so long... I have... wanted to tell you something." (Link)
"Now, please listen... my brother..." (???)
"Within an altar... resides... a force that threatens this world." (Link)
"I... cannot hold this force back... for much longer." (Link)
"Nor, can I... protect you... any longer." (???)
"As... the way it is now... I will be consumed soon." (Link)
"With that... I beg of you. Find me... and kill me." (Link)
"You have lost... most of your powers, haven't you?" (Link)
"I will grant you, a piece... of your former strength." (Link)
"It may be small... but it will grow overtime..." (Link)
"With this, I'll take... my leave." (Link)
No... wait... I still have so many questions... to... ask (* Falls asleep*).
"Hehehe... farewell... my lovely brother. May we meet again... in the future..." (Link)
