The Disappearance Of Mana

Hm.....? Am I......dead? Wait, no; I can still feel my limbs. What is going on? What happened? I...I was first transferred from the void place, into a room. And then, and then.....I was talking to someone? I was... performing...the 'Character Creation' sequence...? Someone...was leading me through it, and...an accident occurred? The room...destroyed...and...the girl...
Ahh..yes, her name was...
"....Rev....." (Data)
"Hmm?..." (???)
That's right! It was....Rev...rev
"REVITAAAA!!" (Data)
"Hiikkk!" (???)
Huh? Did I just hear something squeak? Oh wait...I think I gripped someone's hand too hard.
"Umm...it hurts, please let go of my hand.." (??? = Child Girl)
"Oh wow, I'm truly sorry." (Data)
I released her left hand as soon as I apologized. Looking closely, her hand is a little bit red. Man, I just caused pain on a little girl that I don't even know. I feel sick as a human being, although I'm not really one anyway, I still do.
"NERAI! WHAT'S WRONG?!" (???)
*stomp* *stomp* *stomp* *stomp*
What the hell? He takes a step and it's making the floor tremble as if an earthquake is occurring? How big is this guy?
*crash*
WHAT THE FUQ, HE LITERALLY WENT THROUGH THE FRIGGING DOOR LIKE IT'S MADE OUT OF STRAW! Oh and by the way the door looked like it could withstand a hundred sledgehammers. ANYWAY THE DOOR, OH GOD POOR DOOR.
*cough*
Ok enough joking, though that does not really matter right now because the culprit right now, is emitting an intense bloodlust towards me. I can bet it's probably because he thought I had done something to the girl, which I guess is called Nerai.
"You little twerp! What did you do to Nerai?" (???)
"Even after we've saved your life, this is what you do in return?!" (???)
As he raised his hand and formed a fist, I knew he was going to punch me, but looking at his muscular body, I bet I'd either die or be sent flying through the window which is located behind my back. So with no other possible method to escape, I simply raised my arms instinctively to reduce the impact slightly, in hope that I'd survive the punch.
Braced and ready, I was left with no other choice but to stare as his very hand began moving toward my direction in a frightening speed. I closed my eyes, just because I felt like I should. Thinking that the fist should have reached me by now, I am shocked to hear the sound of a wooden smashing and the breaking sound of a vase. Well that's weird, I'm pretty sure I shouldn't sound like that when getting hit.
Slowly opening my eyes, I can see the figure of a child, standing in front of me with her both arms open wide and her body exactly within the fist's trajectory. Now I realize that she is protecting me.
"Father! He did not do anything; it was simply my fault for standing too near to him as he was having a nightmare." (Nerai)
"But still, how do you explain the sounds that came out when he woke up?" (???)
"As I have mentioned, due to me standing near to him, I was only within the range of his grasp, thus he woken up suddenly and surprising me while grabbing my hand. That’s all." (Nerai)
"Is that so? Hahahaha..." (???)
"What an unlucky kid you are, almost getting killed by me under a false assumption." (???)
Somehow that word strikes deeper than I thought. The word 'Unlucky'.
"You should had told me the truth when you had the chance (*laughs*)." (???)
"Like I could have done it, old man. You didn't even give me a chance to speak." (Data)
The old man continued to laugh loudly as he heard my statement, while Nerai beside her simply chuckled a little. Since I was so busy keeping myself alive, I didn't notice the characteristics these two possess. The old man has a tail on his back, while Nerai have ears that hold resemblance with that of a fox's ear.
Truthfully told, it suited her alongside her yellow hair which is not so long, reaching only to her shoulders while wearing something that looks like a small red robe. The old man beside her on the other hand, is another story. His tail is jet-black in color, which pretty much is the same with his black shirt worn on his muscular body. He also appear to wear some sort of silver necklace, one you would usually see containing a picture in them. Oh, the old man stopped laughing.
"Well anyway, let me introduce myself and my daughter to you." (???)
"My name is Ramiv, a swordsman, obviously with my body like this." (??? = Ramiv)
As he said it, he began flexing his body, only to fully disgust myself so much, I wish I wasn't even born. Trying to avoid having to watch him doing, I took the initiative to ask.
"So I believe Nerai is your daughter?" (Data)
"Yes, however both of us does not possess the same trait, because she inherited her mother's, thus there are always many people that doubt both of us being father and daughter, hahahaha!" (Ramiv)
"Well yeah, I can understand that. Because even right now, I only see a little girl at the age of 8 being forced to follow some random old man." (Data)
"No, it's true that he is my father, even if we have different traits, both of us have the same blood running through our bodies! (Nerai)
I can see Nerai combing her hair as she says that and her father's eye is shining with happiness.
"(*Silently*) though I must say sometime his act is simply unacceptable (*glances at Ramiv*)..." (Nerai)
"Well, both of you have introduced yourselves. Now it's my turn." (Data)
In the past before initiating 'Character Creation' sequence;
"We players are called Travelers while the NPC will call themselves People Of The Land." (Revita)
"Such titles are given so that it would provide the players better gameplay, while trying to make it as real as possible.
Naturally, because this game is made to look like a real fantasy world, the NPC will treat systems, interfaces and such as if they were magic. This truly helps as they won't be panicking if suddenly shown an interface they never had seen before." (Revita)
"My name is Data, and I'm one of the Travelers (Players)."
"WHAT?!" (Ramiv)
"EHHHHH???" (Nerai)
In a surprise, both of them suddenly stood up as if not believing it.
"Now that I think about it, the way we had discovered you was weird in itself, as well." (Ramiv)
*nod* *nod* (Nerai)

The place where I was discovered? AH YES! Now that you mention it, I haven't asked them on how did they found me in the first place, and also what had happened to me. Ever since the destruction of that particular room, I recall falling into a void, but here I am, alive and well. What could have possibly occurred for me to actually survive such thing?
As soon as they sat back, I resumed the conversation.
"Can I ask how was I rescued in the first place?" (Data)
"I cannot explain what had happened, but I was supposed to die..." (Data)
"Well, you see, both Nerai and I are currently on our way to the Capital City of Shiva as both of us were returning from a mission we recently finished." (Ramiv)
"The horse that I and my father rode on was, in a way, acting strangely as we approached this little abandoned house. Passing over the very house, the horse suddenly went mad and just began sprinting like crazy." (Nerai)
"And so, thinking that there was no other way, I took the initiative to sever the rope that had tied our stuff to the horses and just allow it to run away." (Ramiv)
"As we went into the house, I saw you, lying on the very same place you are sitting now, but unconscious with cloths that look so tattered, people would think you were a beggar." (Ramiv)
And as the story continues on and on, I had noticed the surrounding have started to become dark. Night was rising but I did not care for that as I listened to the story, told by ones that had found me. Nerai fell asleep though, anyway, it appears that during the time they had found me, the area, mana, every single thing within my range was distorted and felt different than usual. After they began treating me, the effects were seemingly reduced as I slowly recovered. Then, another question rose.
"If all that has to be done is healing me, why didn't you use your magic?" (Data)
NPCs are known to have a special capability of being able to disregard a skill's class requirement as they are often does not possess a 'Class Orb'. In other word, they are free to learn every existing skills, depending on their capability of course. A major disadvantage to counter NPCs ability is that, they are not immortal. Once they die, then that's it. You're never going to see them again, unlike Travelers who can simply respawn.
And yes, I decided to call it 'Class Orb' since their purpose are simple which is allowing one to change classes. The classes that you obtain, depends on the type of spirit your 'Class Orb' absorbs. Of course, it’s not just any type of spirits. They are mainly kept by certain NPCs, while you also can kill monsters repetitively to be able to change classes by accumulating 'Monster Spirit’. Let’s just say that spirits in this world means EXP in a normal game world.
They are a common item to be found being in possession within every single Travelers. On the other hand, NPCs that possess a 'Class Orb' are known to be unique and special, counting only tens out of millions of NPC that was known to have one.
You cannot destroy your 'Class Orb', and it will return to you should you lose it accidentally. But sadly as it is, mine was destroyed during its creation...
Anyway, back on topic where I asked on why did Nerai and Ramiv did not use their magic skills.
"How about you try using your Analyze skill and see my mana and Nerai's?" (Ramiv)
"Huh? Why should I?" (Data)
"Just do it if you want answers." (Ramiv)
As directed, I began remembering the commands to activate skills, as taught by Revita. (*sigh) She really helped me alot, wonder what she is doing right now...
Let see, ah yes I remember now.
"Activate Analyzing skill. Target Analyzing, Ramiv and Nerai. Priority Analyzing.... Mana!" (Data)

"What...what's the meaning of this? Why is it that the mana of you two is empty? I never really saw you neither have I seen Nerai using any magic skill whatsoever since I woke up." (Data)
"That is the reason we aren't capable of instantly healing you. Even though now you have fully recovered, we haven't been able to regenerate any mana at all." (Ramiv)
"It began as we got really close to you while you were unconscious, then all of a sudden; our mana began depleting at a tremendously fast rate." (Ramiv)
"I see this is quite a problem I will say. I am truly sorry that I've had dragged you into this mess." (Data)
"No, it is fine. It was my decision that had brought Nerai and me into this trouble. However, I do appreciate it if you can somehow cure us of our condition." (Ramiv)

Oh, now that I think about it, there was the weird response today when I mentioned myself being a Traveler. I wonder why could that be?
"By the way, during the evening, I had told you I was a Traveler, and yet you seem shocked. Why is that?" (Data)
"About that... you gave off the vibe of what people of the land (NPC) like us would usually do, and there is also another thing." (Ramiv)
Ramiv's face started to become quite serious. Beside him is the sleeping Nerai...what a contrast of each other. Regardless, thinking it may be something important for me, I dropped the useless thought and simply asked
"And that thing would be?" (Data)
"No use explaining, I'll show you." (Ramiv)
Show me? Though to me it looks like as if he is going cast an analyze skill, what use is that when I could simply view my own status window? But since he wanted to show something, I might as well see through the end of it.
"Activating Analyzing Skill ; Target Analyzing, Data ; Priority Analyzing...Full Information." (Ramiv)

"So, what were you trying to show me?" (Data)
Slowly, Ramiv reached out his hand and pulled the collar of my shirt, while grabbing my head and having the notification floating in front of me. What I saw... was simply unexpected.
