In an abandoned system far from the touch of society, a slight girl digs through piles of rubble and ash accompanied by a figure covered in black armour and an opaque mask with markings where the eyes should be. They’re a scavenger team scouring the debris of an ancient battlefield looking for possible scraps and secrets she can sell to make a living. They find nothing and move on to a different building. On the way there, the girl accidentally trampled on a piece of loose debris that gave way under her feet causing her to fall. The black figure lunges at her in attempt to rescue. It manages to pull her back but it loses balance instead and crashes into the debris.

For some unknown reason, the ground starts glowing bright blue under the black figure. It gets up immediately and scrambles away from the light. The two observe the phenomenon from a distance for a while before creeping closer to get a better look. The remains of an ancient battle-droid lie in a foetal position clutching a glowing object in its chest. The girl then gestures the black figure towards the glowing object. The black figure pries open the arms of the battle-droid with great effort.

The object rolls off and shines even brighter now that there is nothing covering it. The black figure takes a step back covering its eyes as the glow was too bright. The girl on the other hand, calmy flips down her goggles and presses a button. Her goggles almost instantly turn pitch black. She sees what seems to be a cube covered in glowing glyphs that float around on its surface. She gives the cube a quick prod with her finger then picks it up after confirming it was safe to hold. She stares at the cube intensely, turning it and inspecting it from different angles.

Satisfied by her discovery, a grin spreads across her face. She stores the cube securely in her bag. All of a sudden, the black figure stands straight and points at the sky. “Warning, Code S D, Level 2” a rough sound emanates from the black figure. The girl looks up at where the black figure is pointing. The stars start dancing in erratic patterns around a spot. She clicks her tongue and starts running, the black figure following close behind her. She looks back one more time to see a bright flash fly out of the distortion and into the horizon.

The duo approaches a small vessel. It looks like random pieces of scrap put together in the shape of a plane. The girl rushes to the flight deck and smashes a button on the dashboard. The ship starts whirring to life and shakes violently with many creaks. “Come on…” the girl mutters as she stares into the sky with great focus, her hand hovering over a lever. The bright flash from earlier comes back from the opposite horizon flying towards the spot it came from. The stars start dancing again. The girl immediately flips the lever and pulls on the yoke. The ship jerks forward at great acceleration. It catches up to the bright flying object and enters the distortion at the same time vanishing from the space.
