The Beast Arrives

Dawson

Dawson sat back, looking up at the ceiling.

Will and James didn't come back last night. I only have two subordinates left... He didn't tell me how to make more. Dawson looked out the window. I could go ask him, but... He shuddered. I can't go back without proof I dealt with Stella. He stood up and walked towards the window. He heard one of his subordinates burst into the room.

"Stella is fighting with the hunters you fought last night!"

Dawson grinned as he walked out the door. They ran over in a few minutes.

"Hey!" Dawson called out as he arrived. "This is my hunting ground. And that's my prey." He stepped out into the large open stadium, looking down at the five he'd been fighting against. He looked at the four hunters, clearly exhausted from fighting Stella. "You four can leave. I'll pay you back for killing one of my boys later." He turned back to Stella. "Business comes first."

His subordinates jumped out behind Stella, cutting off her escape. He walked up and propped his foot up on the railing, prepared to vault it at any moment. Stella looked up at him, bored.

"You haven't improved as much as I expected. This won't be as hard as I thought."

Does she have something up her sleeve? Dawson eyed her warily for a moment, and then shrugged his shoulders. She couldn't beat me before, and I can tell she hasn't gotten any stronger. He pushed up, about to vault over the railing, and then sighed. "I told you to leave."

He easily avoided the spear that had been thrown at him, letting fly past him and into the distance. Dexter threw a knife afterwards, and Dawson summoned his armament, deflecting the projectile.

That thing had a pretty nasty curse on it. My sixth sense was going crazy. Hm? His face was plastered with confusion, as his field of vison fell rapidly. He was falling towards the ground at a rapid pace. He tried to hold his arms out to break his fall, but they didn't move. Am I paralyzed? Did that knife damage me through my armament? His head landed on the ground with a thud. A moment later, his body, missing its head, landed beside him. Ah, I was decapitated. But who?

As he looked past his own corpse, he realized something was out of place. There was a new person standing in the room. Someone he'd never seen before. Someone holding a blood red sword. His vision faded to black.
