Chapter 6: Savior
After leaving the town gate, Arthur was greet with a huge forest and a road. Specifically the road went south, but that was not what he needed. He quickly made for the forest on the right. He also saw many adventurers go into the forest. As he didn’t want to expose his gun, he went a little further in than the other people. Who could think that just as he lost sight of other people a wolf sprung in front of him?
As he never went into this forest before he didn’t know the level of creatures here. He was expecting a horned rabbit that he heard was a level 1-2 monster and was to be found at the periphery of the forest.
His mind was in panic only for a moment. He calmed down almost instantly. Having spent so much time in the void, his soul allowed him to accept things a lot easier than most people. He didn’t even think about the threat of the wolf and took out his gun and pointed. Just before he shot he also used his skill Analyze.

Seeing the monster’s health, a soft smile surfaced on his face as he remembered his gun’s and bullets’ stats.
Firearm - Desert EagleWeapon[Against monsters: +120 damage]
Projectile - BulletWeapon[Against monsters: +15 damage]Inflicts BLEED damage
At first he was confused by damage numbers appearing on the weapon, but seeing the health points of the monster he finally figured it out. A weapon, against a human acts just like in his world, but against monsters, they act just like in games.
As he was remembering those facts, the wolf already lost its patience and pounced on Arthur.
The shot was fired right in the chest of the monster. A big 300 blood red number appeared above the creature. By game logics, this would be a critical strike.
The wolf corpse didn’t spill even the last bit of blood. After the number appeared it quickly turned into light that went into Arthur’s body. On the ground there was an item. Specifically the money pouch he’s seen on everyone.
Newbie BagContains 10 cubic meters of space
After reading the description he finally knew that this was no money bag. This was the inventory!
Happy with his gain he finally realized his mistake. He actually forgot to drink the exp potion! And the gun made so much noise, even more wolfs would certainly come here. He wasn’t worried about the adventurers, they were too far away, and the forest would naturally diminish the sound.
He decided to leave further into the forest. As he had his gun, not many creatures could oppose him. But, just as he was about to go, 5 more wolves came out from the bushes. They looked almost the same as the other wolf. Grey fur, growling, and the only difference was, those had blood and pieces of meat all over their mouths.
This time, he didn’t hesitate to drink the required potion and, with the fastest speed possible he shot the five wolves.
It was actually a bit surreal. For Arthur, being attacked by so many ferocious animals could be considered terrifying. Even if he taught this was a game, he should still feel the fear of such a foe, but it was not what happened. His mind was unbelievably calm. Just as when he was watching a “dream”.
This sort of mentality scared him a bit, but it ultimately proved to be a good thing in dealing with the monsters.
Collecting the items, only fangs this time, Arthur had a sudden thought. What did the wolves eat? From their bloody teeth before, he was sure that their prey didn’t disappear like his.
Interested in this subject, he went into the direction they came from. After a couple of meters, in front of him was a sight that left him horrified and speechless.
There was a cave mouth and in front of it was a corpse. A half-eaten corpse of a girl. Her clothes were so tattered that they might as well not exist, her arms and legs were gnawed to the bone and even part of her intestines was dug out. It was the most gruesome scene Arthur’s ever seen aside from movies and fantasy in his previous life.
Feeling sad about the poor girl, he wanted to give her a proper burial so he closed in. This time Arthur was surprised once again, but this surprise was a good one. The girl was still alive.
Even if her life’s flame was on the verge of going out, she was still struggling to survive. With such heavy injuries, no one aside for the high priests would be able to save her and she knew this, but a desire for revenge and an immense hatred kept the young woman breathing.
If it was anyone else, they might just put her out of her misery instead of trying to save her. It would definitely save her from suffering a life of hardship and misery. Luckily for her, the one to find her was Arthur.
Without thinking much about the situation, he went to the girl and opened her mouth wanting to make some potion and pour it in. Just as he was about to create the potion, a notification informed him that he does not have enough mana. He just remembered that, to not lose the exp bonus, he used all his mana for the exp potion!

Cursing himself he opened his stats, hoping that those wolves let him level up at least once.
To his surprise he didn’t level up just once, it was 2 times and he only had a bit till the third level. A multiplicative increase of 10 in experience gain at such low levels made the leveling speed of a “character” extremely fast.
Forcing whatever taught was surfacing in his mind down, he update4d his start to increase the Mag by 10 points. By now he had a total of 18 of which 10 could be used right now. Knowing that 10 points was the amount needed for the whole potion, Arthur didn’t hesitate to pout the potion down the girl’s throat.
The potion was certainly magical. Even if the young woman had her innards shred the potion didn’t really need to reach he stomach. It barely entered her mouth and melted inside her body. Than, the true magic started. In less than a minute her whole body was repaired. Her muscles and bones regrew, her spilled guts went back inside her like time was moving backwards and her skin regrew without leaving even the slightest scar.
As the girl had little to no clothing, Arthur could see her in all her splendor. She, after being healed still had patches of blood on her skin, but even so, he could see that she was a fair skinned woman about 18 years old, her hair was ebony black and her face looked like a fairy.
Arthur couldn’t help but recall the young lady disciple of the old man. If put together with that beauty, she might not lose. If she was to be cleaned and dressed up, she might even win in a contest of beauty!
After being stunned for a while, Arthur finally woke up when he saw the girl stirring awake. Seeing that the weather outside was turning for the worse, he decided to carry the girl in to the small cave.
Touching her body, he felt a heavenly sensation. He didn’t know why, but this sensation felt unnatural. In his previous life he had plenty of experience with women. Still unsure about what happened to him, Arthur continued to the cave.
Inside, he took off his shirt and kept the leather vest on. Just as he finished the girl opened her eyes. For half of a second she was calm, than it happened.
“AHHH! AHHHH! BASTARDS!” Screaming, with hate sheeting out of her eyes, the girl got to her feet and attempted to run only to be caught by Arthur before she lost her balance.
Feeling that something is not right, the girl showed an unbelievable calm. In fact, even the confusion in her eyes was gradually diminishing. Sensing that she was better, Arthur quickly placed her on the ground on a sitting position, and covered her body with his shirt.
“Thank you!” The girl muttered in a cold voice. Her entire temperament seemed to not even put Arthur in her eyes, even if he was the one to save her life.
While the girl was calming down and processing the information in her head, Arthur took the opportunity to use his skill on her. He didn’t use Analyze earlier because of how rushed he felt trying to save her.

He didn’t feel anything was wrong with the information displayed, but the sentence of the girl made his confused.
“Why is the soul power here so weak? It’s as weak as in the mortal realm.” Said the beauty frowning, while holding a hand to her temple. It seemed like her head was still not feeling well.
“Soul power? Mortal realm?” asked Arthur. Truthfully, he already had an inkling of what those words meant. The comedy duo who received him from the void talked about this sort of things, and according to some games and novels, he made the connections. But, since those sources were not exactly reliable, he didn’t dare trust in them too much.
After hearing his questions, the young woman frowned even deeper but she didn’t answer, instead she focused her vision in front of her and, after a short moment, a look of incredulity appeared.
“L-Level 1?!?!?” her surprise was so great that she screamed. Were it not for her physical weakness and lack of balance, she would have stood straight up.
Arthur was shocked by her outburst. Why would someone be shocked by their own level? That train of taught made him think of one of his experiences.
In his previous world, in the most famous game at the time, Arthur took place in what could be called the cruelest battle in the history of the game. The special event boss they were battling had a debuff ability which was impossible to be cleansed. It didn’t have any effect on the battle itself, but, every second the debuff would get a stack, if the player died before the boss, he would lose levels equal to the number of stacks. The only way to get rid of the debuff was either leave the agro range of the boss or kill it. In that fight he lost almost 150 levels on his main character.
[Did she encounter something similar? Wait, is respawning even possible here? And what about the wolves?] as Arthur was thinking, he didn’t see the delighted expression on the girls face while she was checking her stats, which lasted only for a moment.
“Mortal, how long are you going to stare at me naked, get out so I can change!” hearing the sudden rebuke, Arthur was waken out of his taught.
The way she called him was kind of rude, but he didn’t call her on to it, he simply left. He was actually wondering if he should go and by some clothes for the girl.
