Filthy little critters

Filthy little critters

The room after the first looked like a littoral junk yard trash heaps piled high over our heads. A foul smell stinging my nose and almost forcing refuse to climb out my stomach and in to my throat. From the retching sound I heard I could tell I wasn't the only one. It was then Phil decided to give the rest of us a face covering. The face covering helped but didn't quite remove the smell entirely.

Then Phil moved forward marking the ground in certain areas we waited a full 15 minutes before Ozwald and I began to move forward. Greg trailing behind my hand flaring with purple light as I drew the circle and picturing my new summon the flowerfolk dandy which can cause confusion the masks we were all wearing meant the spores wouldn't get to effect us. It seemed like a maze with areas going in circles and zig zags, but we moved slowly out of caution and for my little flowerfolk so it could keep up it kept pumping spores in to the air. As we walked avoiding areas marked by Phil. When we heard a loud crash behind us as one of trash mountains collapsed. We all turned and looked and saw three little critters attacking each other wearing trash like it was armor. I activated my monster sense and the purple glow filled my vision furrett: these monsters tend mimic actions they see that impresses them. Watch out they can move silently. But they are above all curious.

Trash panda: these monsters tend gather broken and discarded items they love collecting them and will build their homes. They are crafty and often find unusual uses for anything they find. They mimic behavior patters of more intelligent creatures.

Conrack: this monster is similar to both furretts, and trash pandas for mimicking behavior but often dig holes and set fall traps. These monsters are normally territorial.

I relayed what my magic spell monster sense told me. Ozwald seemed bemused by the situation and Greg had to stop him self from laughing as the little display of a furrett holding wand with a colander on his head was swinging it at a trash panda that was holding a trash can lid and wearing arm floaties. Swinging a rusty butter spreader. While the larger conrack bounced around wearing a torn pillow case throwing pieces of broken glass at them both. I had to admit the craziness of the situation had me wanting to chuckle.

“You think we can get the trash panda to tank for us he seems to be doing a good job of keeping the other two away from us.”

right after I spoke was when I realized how dangerous these little guys were when the trash panda activated the skill shield bash: the trash can lid glowed and shot forward knocking the little furrett back into a trash pile where a sharp rusted pipe pierced and went through the furrett. The trash panda glowed with white and gold light as it grew a few inches both wider and taller. The conrack still kept dating around throwing pieces of glass but the trash panda was no longer confuse from the spore of my flowerfolk dandy. It just leveled up and came charging right for us swinging its rusted butter knife but the situation seemed a lot more dangerous all of a sudden.

“Ready!” I called out

Ozwald taking his stance which I noticed now he had his sword pointed at the trash panda while his other hand behind his back held the whip of thorns coiled in a circle. The trash panda activated a skill fear as his moth suffused with light burst forth a loud noise making Ozwald and myself flinch. Greg began playing and humming as the trash panda used another skill his feet lit up with white light shoot forward. It was the charge skill. Ozwald stepped to side thrusting his rapier deep in to the trash panda and lashing out with the whip latching on to the foot of the rash panda. The conrack then jumped out from the trash pile leaping on Ozwald scratching his face and throwing broken glass around him. Making Ozwald drop the whip to pull the furrett off of his face, then stepping on the broken glass mad him lose his solid footing by the time he recovered so did the trash panda the whip still laying on the ground I began to cast another summon picturing the purple posy : it leaped out of my summoning circle spewing it poisonous spores and charging to the trash pile where the conrack jumped in to. The poison spores filling the air. “Keep the trash panda focused on you my little guys will keep the conrack off you.” I shouted as I drew another circle this time I pictured my sunflowerfolk it appeared by growing out of the ground in front of me it started spitting its seed at the trash panda. My little flower folk were fill a trash pile full of spores. When the conrack leapt out of the trash pile I sent and image of it to my sunflower folk and it locked on spitting seeds at it the conrack began charging at us when I loaded my sling and released the first of my new ammo the purple posy spores packed into some of my old once empty potion bottles the stacks of poison had done just enough damage as I got close my sunflower folk lashed out with one of vines finish off the conrack.

“You ready!” Ozwald shouted at me

“Almost!”I shouted back as I dismissed the sunflower folk and downed a mana potion and quickly drew a binding circle. Ozwald stepped backwards and to the side. just as trash panda did another charge skill sending right at me and in to my binding I activated the binding and placed my mark on the trash panda

A skill notification popped in to my vision

Skill increase the binding of the trash panda and controlling multiple monsters during combat your skill level in summon has reached 16. Your ability to communicate and control your summons has increased.

Followed by another prompt your skillful success in hitting a moving target increased your ability missile weapons: for reaching level 4 in this ability you are granted a corresponding skill scatter shot.

When activated the skill scatter shot will launch and fracture in to multiple projectiles this skill costs both stamina and mana to active.

Excited for skill progression I when to tell Greg but noticed he was still playing his instrument, while Ozwald was looking around in all directions. Not looting like I though he would be. When I clicked they were waiting for the all clear from Phil.

Phil had circled around the room completely and approached from behind us.

“this room has all of the monsters by the traps. So the rooms not clear but you aren't going to get swarmed by the hole room like the last one. The monsters seem to be set up in groups of three with one of each type.” I would have relayed this sooner but you guys were busy.

I dismissed my flowerfolk both the dandy and purple posy. Leaving the trash panda I then summon my pink posy and let its spores cloud around us. Healing up my new trash panda, and forming and new strategy. For the rest of this room. So the new battle formation consisted for my trash panda leading the way. Ozwald on the left, my self on the right Greg in the rear, making a diamond while Phil disappeared from site.

We approached the next group around a trash pile with caution. When we were spotted they took a triangular wedge formation this one with the conrack in front It was wearing a turtle shell of some sort that it managed fit in. The furrett was wearing and actual wizards garb. The trash panda of this group was wearing a shower curtain that was completely see though and carrying the curtain rod in both of its hands. I sent an image to my trash panda to activate charge at their conrack of the group and to keep attacking when their group got close enough both my trash panda and mobs conrack charged right into each other. They began fighting my trash panda only having a trashcan lid as shield was taking more hits then the conrack with a turtle shell. I sent and image to my trash panda to shout hoping it would give him a better chance. Ozwald lunged out from the side thrusting in to the conrack when the trash panda of the mob activated the skill bash. The curtain rod glowed white it swung down with two hands at my trash panda. The little furrett was glowing blue as it activated it spell. the ground turned to a sheet of ice around us. Causing everyone in eye sight to fall but Greg. Who was out of the area of effect.

“I didn't actually think it could cast a spell” I shouted

Ozwald still laying on the ground lashed out with his whip at the furrett. The conrack began spinning in its shell while it activated a skill Charge. It shot forward hitting knocking Ozwald over as he tried to stand up. My trash panda trashed around and activated it's skill shout: causing the mobs to try and run away but they all fell down, I finally got up and loaded my sling with some of broken glass I found from the last mob and launched it at the conrack. That kept falling my trash panda finally got to its feet and I sent a mental image of it attacking the furrett. It activated charge and nailed the furrett. Ozwald finally got to his feet and lashed out the furrett piercing in to it's flesh. The furrett collapsed to the ground the ice disappearing from around us and the magic of the furrett left. The conrack finally getting up I began to run at Ozwald and my trash panda. When I released a rusted iron nut from my sling nailing my trash panda in the head stunning it. Ozwald thrust out striking the conrack and shouted out to me. “Learn to aim butter fingers.”

I loaded my sling again and this time activating my new skill multi shot and as it released it iron nut split in two hitting but the mob trash panda and the conrack.

“That's more like it!”Ozwald shouted

Ozwald activated a skill his rapier glowed moving through a complex motion and I saw that he was drawing a rune with the tip of his rapier when he thrust forward the rune activated splitting in to multiple runes around the conrack and fire lanced outward from all of the runes piercing in to the conrack breaking its shell and killing it. The trashpanda lept forward activating its bash skill. my trash panda now free from its stun activated it shield bash both skills colliding. Sending the mob trash panda into a pile of trash, and knocking my trash panda unconscious I launched another iron nut from my sling activating my skill mutli shot this time nailing the mob trash panda on the ground killing it. We had one more mob to clear In this room according to Phil, so we sat and recovered my little pink posy's spores helping but not effectively enough healing during combat. Phil made a suggestion for us to use the traps on the floor against the last group. So our plan changed this time I was to have my trash panda wait behind with Ozwald while I try and pull one of monsters from the other two while my sunflowerfolk topples one of the garbage heaps. So I readied my sling and began walking.
