"Alright, we've got one barricaded Anomaly, unknown ability, possible pyrokinesis, standard procedure. Jaegers deploy!"
A heavily armored SUV pulled in front of a two-story apartment building, the four people clad in full blackout riot-style gear hanging onto the sides of the vehicle jumped off as it rolled to a stop, each carrying a strangely elongated pistol. one of them worked on clearing the area for potential interference while the other three posted up on the main entrance. Black smoke rose thick into the noon sunlit sky, marring the near-cloudless canvas with its appearance.
"I need you two on me on entering. Three, cover our six, Two, sweep lefts, I'll handle the rights. Go on 2." The lead figure turned and directed his two apparent subordinates, who both nodded, before getting into high ready and counting down.
"1"
The other two slightly raised the odd-looking weaponry and leaned forward.
"2"
The lead lifted his leg and kicked in the main door in one swift motion, at what would have been the third second all three personnel had crossed the threshold, the two leading swept left and right as they crossed doors and approached the second-story stairs, while their third companion covered behind them, just as planned.
"Two, Three, keep back on this, maintain good spacing." Again the two nodded, and their leader carefully stepped up the stairs, whipping around to aim at the second-floor landing. What was until now a perfectly quiet inspection was about to be disrupted? "Hell! Back back back!" An orange glow momentarily illuminated the flightless second floor, just barely preceding a plume of heat and flame, one that nearly engulfed the leading operator. The other two backed off, having barely touched the first step, allowing the main man to descend.
He pressed a button below the weapon's trigger that he was holding, and a panel on each side of the barrel popped out, slanting slightly outward, not unlike panels on an umbrella. He darted back into the now charred stairway and aimed towards the fire's origin, the panels glowed as they faced their target, a bright and pale blue before the weapon emitted a high-pitched whine. "Delta 1! Delta 1!"
A blue ellipse of sorts rocketed out of the panels, cutting off the wine with a loud pop, shooting down the upstairs hallway, and meeting another column of flame halfway through, disappearing within as the fire raged forth. The leader hit the deck, feeling the searing of his flesh as the fire barely skimmed above him and rushed downward. He did his best to fight through the pain, standing back up as soon as the flame ceased, just in time to see his shot hit its mark.
A wave of bluish tint pulsed out from the end of the hallway, its thin veil giving some illumination to the space and showing a tall and slender figure standing at the end near its epicenter, raising their hand towards the stairs with slight flickers of flame along their fingers. The strange blue wave seemingly cut off the flame, and the figure looked worried when its raised palm produced no more fire, the blue sphere ceased expanding, coming about twenty feet from its star and remaining there. The leader of the trio rushed up the stairs, aiming the weapon, still with its panels engaged, at the figure in the hall.
"Get down right now! You have five seconds to comply!" His two companions flanked both his sides as his words echoed down the hall, filling the person within with even more shock and fear. It took them two seconds to register what was going on, and another after that top dropped to the ground and lay spread-eagled. The leader nodded at the operator on his right, who then quickly moved forward and planted themselves behind their target. The lead kept his weapon trained on the target, and the third person more carefully made their way forward, nodding at their companion ahead once they reached the target.

The figure on the ground was swiftly cuffed and hoisted up, proceeding to be led back down the hall and out into the awaiting street below, where already a substantial crowd had formed, many looking in worry at the building, but many more enraptured by the vehicle and operators exiting the building. While his two companions lead the figure into the SUV the leader jogged to his forth, patting them on the shoulder, signaling they were good to leave. The fourth nodded, returning to the armored vehicle and hopping on its side once more. Its engine roared to life, only two people on its sides now, the other two within, monitoring the target, and a siren accompanied it, sending the crowd ahead into action, moving to accommodate its path.
Another one is secured. God damn that burns like all hell.
The Era of Genesis is still vastly debated. The origins of its events are pretty much scientifically equivalent to "magic," and for the first several decades after its beginning, the governments of the world were scrambling for a way to handle it. People being born, albeit rarely, with supernatural abilities ranging from slight psychokinesis to being able to create plasmic pulses was troubling. Explanation or not, some way of monitoring and "dealing with" these people were needed. So a few of them came together, creating an international housing facility for the Anomalous, as they had been dubbed. Thus began the creation and employment of the Corlude Facility.
Many have and likely will continue to see this as unethical, immoral, and so on. But the only real options were to monitor the children in a properly staffed environment or leave these ability-laden people to wreak havoc with no grasp on the consequences of their actions, worse yet their abilities gave rise to the attacking of civilians and mass criminal activity from those left unchecked. It may be considered not right to gain guardianship of them and place them within the facility, however, there was no reasonable alternative.
After the first few "graduates" of Corlude's went out into the world, still heavily supervised and examined, understanding of the Anomalous, and restrictions post-graduation lessened severely, and many of these people would later return to the facility as instructors or caretakers themselves, having realized the benefit of bona fide Anomalous educating those without a grasp on their strengths. More controversy arose after it came to light some Anomalous was employed with military intent, igniting yet another outcry at Corlude's existence, yet it remained, once fears were pushed down once more the public settled back into complacency regarding its being. Then came the Jaegers.
As the Era of Genesis continued, the nature of ability manifestation was found to not be immediate and could occur seemingly for fifteen years, a fact discovered after more reports of teenage range Anomalous reports. Resulting in another rush to find a way to get these new and older kids into the Facility, which bore fruit in the Jaeger police force.
Former facility students volunteered with the local police within their respective countries to assist in getting those with abilities within the facility, but further from that would also assist in dealing with those who went under the radar and abused their talents for personal or criminal gain. The same collective behind the founding of Corlude conferred and established the Jaeger police, specifically with those who were either highly trained, Anomalous themselves, or both in the pursuit of getting more of the Anomalous population to a point where concern was distinguished.
And that brings us to now. ~100 years post-establishment, and the situation around its presence has been considerably improved, with public opinion of the Facility being more or less positive, and the opinion of the Anomalous following the same trend, although not without the fear of those abusing their power. Those who originally graduated and had children were seemingly guaranteed to produce more Anomalous, who were then enrolled in Corlude's. Then those graduates had kids, and so on. These generational’s typically had more grasp on their abilities, and often more strength overall, and were valuable students, often contributing heavily within various fields beyond graduation.
The year 2165 has 50 members, with an age variance of two years, and four generational students. The first official day of instruction is finally upon all those within, following the apprehension of the 50th student, and as they say, excitement is in the air, right?
